Not a complete report by any means, but a couple of tidbits.
D/Source for Lost Tech blew the audience away by explaining that one source of “lost tech” was OLD BTBs!
After decades of deriding the SP’s that put out BTBs and “canceling them with an atomic branding iron” He now explained that when some people wrote BTBs back in the day, they actually took LRH data and wrote it up as their own.
Or they would consult LRH, get some data from him, and write up a BTB with only their own name on the bottom.
So when all the BTBs were thrown out and burned (He was the leading book-burner and has stated so over and over), a lot of valid LRH data was lost in the process.
Well hallelujah, we have come full circle. NOW the BTBs are OK as long as they have His blessing. Doesn’t He realize that He has become exactly what He supposedly despised. Check back and see what He said about David Mayo. But then, at the time, Mayo was the arbiter of what was “LRH” and what was not. At least Mayo WAS a highly trained auditor, trained personally under LRH and was L. Ron Hubbard’s auditor and held the post of Senior C/S International…. So Mayo’s say-so on what was and was not LRH and what was and was not “on-Source” had a higher likelihood of accuracy than Voldemort’s.
More than one observer noted that there was NO Senior C/S International in attendance at the most important event in the history of all universes. Hmmmm
His lordship also explained to the clubbed seals that there is a Ser Fac Handling that is part of NED. And that one big reason people were “getting stuck at grade 4” and not moving onto NED (presumably a euphemism for “why we are not making Clears”?) is that they were being made to attest to having “handled” ser facs, when there’s a whole other Bride step to actually handle them for good. After all, as He explained to the lesser beings in attendance, the grades are just key out, and NED is full erasure. We waited all this time to hear this?
He explained that tonight’s briefing was about Purif through NED.
Tomorrow’s early afternoon briefing will be about training.
Tomorrow evening’s briefing will be the release of Super Power and Cause Resurgance.
Sunday will just be the ribbon cutting and building tours.
One thing, He has a new catchphrase. It’s no longer “I am still in town.” Tonight he unveiled this doozie: “I have been working on this for 20 years”.
PS: It’s raining hard.

Thanks for the report Mike. As Martha Stout says in her book, “The Sociopath Next Door” an SP can be spotted by the “Pity Play.” They are apparently the only ones that do this routinely. They want people to pity them because then they can be manipulated. So apparently they just go out of their way to play the pity card… ergo, lights fade, spotlight on DM who looks up wistfully into the darkness, sadly noble, “And in case you are wondering how long this one has been in the works—no, it wasn’t a year. And no, it wasn’t two years. Or even three.” A hush comes over the crowd of clubbed seals who wouldn’t know a sociopath if he took over their religion and stole every penny they had… faint trumpet fanfare in the background… “I’ve been working on this one for 20 years.” DM looks with predatory eyes into the audience to see if they are taking the bait. Faint fanfare from “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” Fade to black.
I remember up in his office in RTC when he did a whole (sadly noble) song and dance about how someone had intentionally ran over and killed his dog (a utter lie). And he picked up an urn and said it was his dog’s ashes. He said, “That’s what I get at the Int base. This is how you treat me. I try to help, and the response is someone kills my dog.”
Stout says the pity play is a clear way to recognize the sociopath. Food for thought.

LRH actually typed this book himself on his personal typewriter at 100 words per minute. We have now restored the original and, after removing all of LRH’s typos, are proud to announce the release of: DIANETICS, THE MODERN SCIENCE OF MENTAL HEALTH! ” -DM

So now there’s going to be new issues, retraining, re-auditing and more regging.
He hasn’t the training, the patience nor the wit to understand Scientology, yet his new broom is still sweeping, looking to shift blame, make more money, and avoid the the most pressing point of all: organisational decline.

IN 65 LRH said (KSW)the tech is there in all books, courses and so on, then continously made new breakthroughs and announced new tech and talks about what was done wrong in earlier times ! He did that from 1950 on. It’s a successful action and it gives hope to the people that now they’ll be real OTS or whatever they expect and all their problems will be gone with the new breaktroughs.
DM ist just copying LRH and does it over and over. Any religion does give hope to their parishioners and if the UFO’s didn’t land in 2000, they just say it will be in 2050 and most people will believe it and will have new hope.
Normal Religion SOP. Most of the people left in Scientology will stay there for the rest of their lives as they want to be be victims and want to be told “nonsense”.
Look at all those Religions telling “nonsense” as the islamic religion or the catholic church. They are eating the blood and flesh of Jesus or the he islamic people believe they will go to paradise and have some dozen virgins at their disposal.
So what ?
I don’t think that many of the present Scientologists at those events will use their wits to realise the “nonsense” he is telling them !
They want to hear it, as otherwise they would be lost in their lifes.
The only solution to those problem is education, schooling, reading, discussing, writing. Already the greeks knew this. Fortunately schools are for free for lots of people on planet earth.

DM’s underlying strategy seems to be simple: introduce a confusion, then a new stable datum.
X was missing, causing confusion (audience is dazed), then I found the why and handled it (new stable datum).
Punch in the gut (punchee is shocked and dazed) then I tell him what a POS he is and how to handle it (new stable datum).
Again, correct me if I’m missing something.
Axiom says
This is no unlike what Hubbard did. Every new discovery invalidated every earlier discovery. So it is not unreasonable to think that the sheep will buy into all this BS. Every other week Hubbard would come up with the latest discovery that was the “Latest and Greatest”, but sometimes he would backtrack.
There is a post on another blog that goes into this in detail, I think written by Plain Old Thetan.
Jane Doe says
Excellent point Dollar Morgue. What you describe is similar to PDH, Pain, Drug, Hypnosis, which LRH has talked about in the FPRD Series and other places as well. The audience is getting implanted by DM just like in PDHing but without the physical pain. The stable datum is taken away which results in confusion. Then the stable datum is given, i.e., the “new and improved” stuff he wants us to swallow. And all the loud music, noises, flashes, also add to the confusion of it all. So the clubbed seal will grab onto the new stable datum to hold back the confusion. OK all you clubbed seals, “Spot the first moment of the confusion.”

Mike said in the article it is more like the tent holds 4,500 people. So how many of those were OOT and staff? Let’s say 3,000 were OOT’s and staff. That means only 1,500 public showed up to the event. And that is less number of people that Davie claims live in Clearwater alone. Poor showing. Numbers are declining.
Schorsch says
Sorry to ask. My Cl4 training dates back to 1980 so I might be wrong here. Grade 4 deals with the ser fac. Ser Fac in fact is the top most last item on the GPM chain. That pair of Reliable Items that one is dramatizing in present time. A Goals Problem Mass Item can not be handled with Dianetics nor with New Era Dianetics. Wrong process. Grade 4 is a not handling RIs but keys them out. If one tries to handle a GPM Item like an Engram puts you up to a complete and utter failure. Am I remembering it wrong here?
plainoldthetan says
Wow, Schorsch, that’s a pretty detailed and technical memory you have. I wouldn’t describe it the way you have, BUT that doesn’t mean you’re wrong. What you are right about is that trying to handle a GPM…a whole GPM…using NED or HSDC Dianetics alone will come a cropper because of a fundamental discovery LRH made during his research of GPMs and the R3 (not R3R) procedures. In Dianetics auditing or running Scientology ruds (for example) one always goes earlier-similar if a release is not obtained while running the process. In GPM running, one lists-and-nulls to find the GOAL and then finds the EARLIEST problem in the GPM, looking for LATER problems (coming toward present time) to effect the elimination of the GPM. Keying-out or destimulating the topmost pair of RIs on the topmost GPM was seen at least at one point as a gateway to clearing the individual. It is my understanding that the earliest-to-latest tech is what one learns to apply on the Clearing Course.
I’d have to drag out my SHSBC lectures…which aren’t indexed…to find the lectures that describe what you’re remembering.
By the way, have the SHSBC lectures come out (as promised) in English yet? Or was Miscavige too busy (re-(re-(re-)))revising the tech to do that?
DollarMorgue says
I hope your observers can last through three events. I doubt I could…
One thing struck me last night – in all the events I’ve seen, I don’t recall DM ever actually talking about LRH like someone he knew. He always seems to talk about him as if he were some historical remote figure, not a person he worked for at one time (and in theory still does). Correct me if I missed something.

BTB stands for “Board Technical Bulletin”. It is a valid technical issue which Ron authorized in HCO PL 24 Sept 1972RA, Revised 3 July 1977 ISSUES- TYPES OF. Interestingly while these are a valid type of issue, he said that no one may be disciplined for not following one. After Ron “passed away” Mi$cavige “cancelled” them all on his own unilateral decision when the “New” Tech Vols were released. Now, it seems that he is going to “re-instate” the BTB’s that he likes. Many BTBs can be found in the original Tech Vols if you can find a set. (To simplify things, he should call them MCOBs.) 🙂

Excerpt: At Saint Hill in the mid-60s many, many service facs were found on each pc and the earliest service fac running included the use of Dianetics.
This was later omitted from service fac procedure and service facs were handled solely with Scientology tech by running off the automaticities on the computation to cognition, F/N and VGIs in the pc.
Phenomenal gains and case changes were made on pcs with that tech alone—all of them valid. That tech has been retained as a vital action to service fac handling.
Now, with the advent of New Era Dianetics, service fac handling has been restored to its full technology.

I think changing things again will just raise the same questions about Mayo, about Cook, about GAT I and the F/N and actually lend creditability to the opinions of the exes that seep across the firewall.
Carcha says
Good point about lending credibility. The idea of Scn is to raise awareness and competence, to the point where one can evaluate things for oneself. Hubbard went into this issue of learning and the goal of becoming so familiar with the documented observations in an area as to be able to evaluate it for oneself, or be “an expert” if you will (in the lectures of “Study Tapes”). Hubbard is still to be respected as senior authority (for many reasons, such as the astounding coherence and breadth of his observations), but it does not mean that others who have studied in this field do not have insights of their own which are perfectly valid. The TRs or Training Routines were, as I understand, not developed by Hubbard, but by a team bent on finding out why he got more action out of a PC than other auditors, and the TRs were their recommendation to improve auditors’ results. Hubbard reviewed it and gave it a go-ahead. Mayo fought a court case against the best the Co$ had in obfuscation and derailment and money and vexation, for years, over the issue of who actually developed NOTs (New Era Dianetics for Operating Thetans), he, or Hubbard. I have heard that Mayo came up with the idea when Hubbard was seriously ill, and the only auditor he trusted was Mayo. Hubbard did appoint Mayo as the Senior C/S (Case Supervisor) International, but Miscavige somehow managed to bully, harass, and infuriate Mayo to the extent he walked out of the Co$ for good in the early 1980’s, some years after Hubbard had gone into seclusion. Large numbers left with Mayo. With respect to differences in viewpoint and opinion and things I do not know, not to offend any who left much later, but presumably some quick-witted Scns and public (clients) were the ones who departed with Mayo. On the other hand, what still puzzles me is that there are some very highly trained auditors and C/Ses who are still in the Co$. My conclusion is that Scn is a specialized field. Some auditors are excellent auditors, but do not necessarily know how to “live” very well, or are not “smart.” Some are on the nerdy side of things. However, there will be people who are capable of amplifying Scn, and refining procedures, but from everything I know (which is not to be dismissed offhand), that amplification and refinement will be within the context of what Hubbard researched and tested. There have been a few questions I’ve had about the tech, but when I did get answers for myself, I found that Hubbard was right. His opinions (as distinguished from the tech) about frogs (toads) and photography, I’m not sure I’m ever going to get to agree with (I just don’t like photography).

Aurora,
Here is my shorthand take on DM’s latest fiasco.
Keep in mind that DM is very fond of making a disastrous choice, then ten years later, loudly proclaiming what an amazing leader he is for reversing his own earlier bad choices. He has done this countless times.
Back in the day, LRH used to issue official bulletins about the tech. So did other high-ranking church officials. The church officials would release things called BTBs (Board Technical Bulletins). As DM came to power, he wreaked havoc by disappearing people, kicking people out of the church, destroying the missions network, and canceling tons of these kinds of BTB bulletins (really to silence people who disagreed with him, but ostensibly to “protect the tech” because these bulletins were “not from LRH/not on source”). When things like this were cancelled, Sea Org missionaires would be sent around to destroy books, take peoples’ materials, and terrorize anyone who got in the way.
So now today, here Dave is saying that after all, some of those BTBs he ordered destroyed 20-30 years ago were not so bad after all, and are “on source” anyway. And now they can be used as new training materials, etc.
“Everyone congratulate me! I found lost tech… that I destroyed before, but just ignore that part.”
And people are so ignorant of their own church’s history (or they know, but choose to turn a blind eye), that they stand and cheer him and line up to give him money.
It’s straight out of North Korea or Orwell.

I put a lot of work into that project.
I’d be surprised if anyone could find a BTB these days. Titanium plates?

From Scientology Technical Dictionary,
“Board Technical Bulletin, These are issues of the Board of Directors of the Churches of Scientology and are separate and distinct from those Hubbard Communication Office Bulletins written by LRH.”
BTB’s are written by people other than LRH. Most of the people who wrote BTB’s were declared suppressive and expelled by dm in his reign.
plainoldthetan says
Dan! That’s totally unfair! WHAT WE WERE TOLD is that “BTB’s are written by people other than LRH. Most of the people who wrote BTB’s were declared suppressive and expelled by DM in his reign.” Now we are TOLD that “BTBs contain a lot of :RH information what was issued in writing at LRH’s direction”.
Like I said in my “Snake-oil” post over on possibly helpful advice, “In the ’80s a person familiar with LRH’s writings knew what the tech was. Nowadays, he isn’t so sure”.
And although this intitial report doesn’t say it, the “rediscovery” of the “lost” tech gives His Omniscient Majesty the underpinnings of the evolution, printing, and release of yet ANOTHER set of Tech Volumes. So now we’ll have to throw out our 1978 tech vols as well as our 1991 Tech Volumes.
It’s another marketing approach for Ford. After all, Henry Ford could be considered the Source of automotive tech. So Ford can now come out with a new car that’s based on “going back to Ford’s original writings” and claim that it’s verified as the only on-source true-to-the-founder automobile, so everybody in the US has to junk their cars and buy this one. Then in a few years they can say “whoops, we discovered things, like seat belts and catalytic converters that WERE correct tech, so now you have to junk the cars we said were on-source a few years ago and buy this year’s model”.
When are the clubbed seals going to detect the essential mercurial nature of Miscavige and the “tech” he is creating…and the monstrous strategic errors he makes every few years…and erase their postulates to have undying unwavering loyalty to Miscavige?

In my opinion – he better be able to back every promise he makes from here on out – the World is watching and so are the Courts!! Fraud is fraud and there are loads of it going on inside Bedlam aka the “church of Scientology”.

After all the stink of making us throw out the Tech Vols that dared to have BTBs in them after the first GAT! And then Missionaires coming through orgs and removing any old Tech Vols and date packs. Heaven forbid anyone actually look at any of those things for themselves!
Seriously, I can’t believe the way every word that poor excuse for a human being says is treated as gospel no matter how contradictory to words he said previously, and no matter that it’s the exact same thing he allegedly already handled with previous grandiose releases.
He’s a tiny dictator in a small pond fawned over by groveling courtiers who are all too afraid to acknowledge the Lilliputian emperor has no clothes.
He’s a worse spiritual leader than Henry VIII, Savonarola, and Jim Jones combined. I am so glad I don’t have to be subjected to that crap anymore.

DM hasn’t studied the subject, he was like 12 or 14 when he did the Briefing Course, not even literate, so how could he even grasp the BC which he never interned either, so even any certs he had are not valid, because he’s never interned.
He violated so many of Hubbard’s personnel policies, I’m no Hubbard fan believe me, but Miscavige had he at least followed Hubbard’s somewhat expansionist personnel policies would have at least had a trained team of seal clubbers, and he’d at least be letting some of the WDC Members and Exec Strata members, or the bosses, like ED Int and WDC Chairman, have a little event briefing facetime.
Total internal long term short ranged bad management, by a dictatorial unrealized and not even Hubbard trained leader, Miscavige that is.
I’m not saying even Hubbard would be able to deal with humanity’s objections to Hubbard and Scientology though.
This movement survives on the blugeoning of the loyal seals, to stay with the metaphor here.
All that we see is the game playing to keep the seals happy enough not to run off to the similarly low volume activity of the freezone and independent Scientology movement.
Religion and fake religions, just aren’t the human buzz currently!
theosismanides says
Chuck, you are objective in your observations, I do read them carefully when you post. However, I have an objection to your last sentence here. We are not talking just about human buzz here! I don’t know if you had wins from Scientology, I think you did. Even on the data series and the way you approach things in an analytical way, I suspect Scientology and Hubbard’s writings helped you a bit.
So we are not talking about just a religion here. Let’s get that straight. I am referring to Scientology as such, not the church. I am talking about a technology (and you do know that better than many) of how to better understand life as well as the human mind and spirit.
In that perspective I have undertaken the post of HAS in APIS (Association of Professional Independent Scientologists) founded by Michael Moore, an auditors mainly association from all around the world. Admin is important and is what is lacking in the Independent and Freezone field.
If you care to help me put together a good big expanded Org Board let me know. Hahaha, I know you are good at that. It would help many people. And remember, to me we are talking about a technology here, not a religion. We don’t need a religion right now, we need an Org Board to get people to come in and give a helping hand. That’s all the Indie field needs. So let me know buddy.

Oh, puleeeeze. This is all he has? BTBs? NED?

Thing is the clubbed seals will lap it up having been caught up in the hoopla of the event. They will believe in its awesomeness.
