This is an essay contributed by a third-generation "Scientologist," Elizabeth Gale. I think it is an important message for many reasons. Elizabeth comes from a prominent scientology family. She attended school at Delphi, Oregon, took courses at CCint and Flag, among other places, and had a stint on staff, though never joined the Sea Org. Her parents attained high level OT status - her father, David died in 1995 of heart failure. Today Liz is a happily married mother of two. She has a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies from Portland State University. She believes … [Read more...]

IAS Bald Faced Lies
You can be certain that the level of hype and bs at the annual IAS Celebration at St Hill this weekend was unparalleled, epic and milestone. If these new promotional items are any indication, the brazen lies are becoming so astounding that it is hard to imagine anyone actually buying them? Seriously, they actually believe that handing out WTH (with NO information even about how many were handed out or what percentage of the population they reached or whether anyone even read it) has made Amsterdam the "5th safest city on earth" (wonder where they get that supposed statistic … [Read more...]

Shermanspeak Contest Winner
A little light-hearted entertainment for the weekend. As earlier mentioned in a comment -- a contest was launched to commemorate the annual IAS event to see who could produce the best Shermanspeak on the topic of scientology and the world today. Our winning entry is below. Dan should be proud. Throughout history, great writers have had an identifiable style -- from Shakespeare to Ernest Hemingway. Speechmakers too -- Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill come to mind. But it seems that though Sherman has developed a unique style, he follows in the tradition of another famous orator, … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies
The Ideal Playground and Ideal Lake This is not a shoop or spoof. They are seriously promoting the "re-newed" lake and ideal playground. And just in time for Dear Leader breezing in... They must be so proud of their complete idealiness. Applied Scholastics Online? Finish High School? Only in the event you are so out ethics you have not joined the Sea Org. Join us for dinner... So we can take your money. We would not be wanting you there otherwise. Pay us for Thanksgiving Dinner Most churches provide a free Thanksgiving Dinner for the needy. For … [Read more...]
Igniting the Golden Age of Dissemination
Apparently, this is the latest thing to "ignite" in scientology (their pants have been on fire for a LONG time). How is it that now, months AFTER the SuMP was launched, there is something else that is needed to make the Golden Age of Dissemination a reality? They told everyone that the SuMP was IT. All by itself the SuMP would reach the billions on every airwave and launch a new era of massive, epic, watershed growth as the Golden Age of Dissemination was heading straight up and vertical blah blah blah But now it seems that was yesterday's news. The REAL "ignition" is the sale of "The … [Read more...]
Two New Conditions!
The next Terra Cognita essay that follows closely the last 2: The Condition of Liabilitiness and Condition of Doubtfulness -- Terra is injecting a little more humor into this one. Though of course, satire is often mistaken for fact when it comes to the bubble of scientology. See earlier Terra Cognita: The Mind, The Way To Happiness: Really? A Story, Auditing: a PC's Quest for the Holy Grail, The Knowledge Report, Integrity, The Almighty Stat, The Reg, The Horrors of Wordclearing, Why Scientologists Don't FSM, Respect, The Survival Rundown - The Latest Scam, Communication in Scientology... … [Read more...]
It’s Time to “Secure Your Eternity” — Again
I How many times can they keep telling people they need to "secure their eternity"? And how sad is it to see this annual promotion that relies on a tax deduction as a gimmick to get people to "buy immortality." Sad for two reasons: If you really COULD buy immortality and "secure your eternity" people would pay 100X what is currently being charged and would need no "incentive." That the IRS is complicit in this scam. I am sure plenty of commenters are going to cover this well. I am a little short on time, so I really just throw this out there as a topic for discussion. … [Read more...]
Look, We ARE Clearing the Planet
OK - forget about clearing the Confederacy for now. Let's just focus on Clearing the planet. Or any entity. And let's use the best case scenario they have to offer. The one they talk about most. The idealiest of all orgs that was taken over by 200 of the elite of the planet cause over everything SO members. This is their latest promo piece boasting of their stupendously epic milestone achievements. Well, let's do some math. Taking what they say as true (highly unlikely) and granting them that every "NED Case Completion" went on to become Clear (also highly unlikely), this, the biggest, … [Read more...]
