This is right from the scientology.org website under their "Frequently Asked Questions" answer on "What Is Disconnection?" There is no policy in Scientology that requires Church members to disconnect from anyone, let alone family and friends who simply have different beliefs. To the contrary, the moral code of Scientology mandates that Scientologists respect the religious beliefs of others. The Church encourages excellent family relationships, Scientologists or not, and family relations routinely improve with Scientology because the Scientologist learns how to increase communication and … [Read more...]

Casting Problems
They put out these notices fairly regularly. A few weeks ago they were trying to cast Allen Ginsberg and L. Ron Hubbard for $200-$300/day. Seems they are having some problems getting takers as they have raised the price now to $935/day. I can imagine that in this day and age being identified as a "face" of WTH or Narconon is not a good career choice. And apparently the only applicants they had are english as a second language speakers. They even have to offer "gas reimbursement" which means this is being shot at Gold, not at SuMP. Apparently SuMP does absolutely nothing. Prediction: T … [Read more...]
The IAS Is Lying, Again
This is a recent promo piece put out by the IAS. It would lead one to believe that it is the IAS that "reached" 117 million people with the WTH over the last 12 months. That the hundreds of millions of dollars they receive annually is what finances the "4th Dynamic campaigns." Remember all the promotion you see from the IAS about how their job is to carry out the "4th Dynamic" campaigns to salvage earth? And how THEY are the ones who are doing this to "guarantee the future of scientology"? This one appeared in the Thursday Funnies edition a couple of weeks ago. Well, if the … [Read more...]
Behind the Techno Eight Ball
Another in the ongoing series from Terra Cognita. Behind the Techno Eight Ball Scientology has always been a decade behind in technology with regards to books, tapes, CDs, film, computers, and database management. For a man who professed to be smarter than anyone else, LRH and his church have failed to keep up. Year after year, the church rolls out their version of something Microsoft and Sony already perfected and released. Not only is Scientology’s version out-of-date, it’s of lesser quality. Books Scientology has always harbored an unnatural fear of the digital world. As if … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Thursday Funnies
They're not very "OT" They don't seem to be at cause over time... Seems to be an epidemic of un-OTness... Open House for the Blog! How nice of them to think of us... How are we reaching the millions? We are not. But Michael is going to show you some ads that he will tell you are "reaching millions" -- except nobody pays any attention to them. So is that really "reaching" anyone? He used to be a Class VIII But credit where it's due -- at least this is not a "money" seminar. The CO and I expect you to be there... And I … [Read more...]
Pat Harney — Scientology’s Last “PR”?
Perhaps the only scientology "PR" who is still operating anywhere these days is Pat Harney in Clearwater. Though she doesn't make live media appearances or even answer live media questions (witness her scurrying away when she came to "confront" one of the Producers of The Aftermath while they were shooting on the sidewalk - and refusing to even give her name) - she will dash off a Letter to the Editor every now and then, as long as it's not to one of the "known SP media" outlets (looking at you Tampa Bay Times). Pat is the last of a dying breed. Karin Pouw is just a name used to put on … [Read more...]
Where is Scientology Sacramento?
This is something one of our readers sent in last week that highlights another facet of the fraud of scientology. You may have heard of the recent situation with the Oroville dam in Northern California and people being evacuated. This story in the LA Times tells of the Sikh temples in Sacramento that opened their doors to displaced persons. There was also a link to other shelters and churches who had taken in refugees. NOT included on the list was the "ideal" Church of Scientology of Sacramento. Here is an excerpt from the story: As tens of thousands fled low-lying regions on the … [Read more...]
Lies Scientology Recruiters Tell You
Many people wonder how people in this day and age are recruited into the Sea Org. If you have Google, I think the chances are that you might check it out before you sign a billion year contract for anything. And that is part of the answer as to who the few are that join the SO today. SO recruits come from two buckets: A. People in less fortunate countries in Eastern Europe and Venezuela who are offered a visa to the US, room, board and a job. B. Children of scientologists. The first category are pretty easy to understand. If you lived in Ukraine and had someone tell you … [Read more...]
