Saturday is Terra Cognita day! If religion was the opiate of the people as Marx and my parents used to tell me, how in the hell did the latter’s offspring get involved in Scientology? Religion...Or Not I didn’t know Scientology was a religion until well into my HQS course (Hubbard Qualified Scientologist course). And even then, I didn’t accept that it was a bona fide religious entity but more of a new-age, self-help type of outfit. Werner Erhard and EST had set up shop locally, Moonies and Buddhists were common sights at airports, and yes, the field of psychology had become the lif … [Read more...]

Regraded Being
With Aftermath on hiatus, it seemed only fair to allow RB a bit of a breather too. There is plenty of material to bring back some of my favorites. … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
We havent had Thursday Funnies for a few weeks now. With a break from new Aftermath shows there are no new scientology idiotic responses to dissect. Some of these funnies are a little old, but they are still fun... Gathering of the Brave? Or at least those with 150 pounds burning a hole in their pocket. "Well-known authorities"? Do tell... Turning the tide... Really? How? The Largest Ideal Org in the US Still pushing how many empty square feet they have as the only thing they've got going for … [Read more...]
Danny Masterson Trying to Shore Up His PR
Of course, when you are being investigated for rape -- "The Los Angeles Police Department Robbery Homicide Division, Sexual Assault Section, is conducting an investigation involving the actor Danny Masterson. Three women have come forward and disclosed that they were sexually assaulted by Masterson during the early 2000's," Hollywood Reporter -- you have to do more than hire a prominent criminal defense attorney and a private investigator. You have to make it appear that you are an all around good guy who really cares about kids. So you do a round of golf. No actual work or … [Read more...]
Do Scientologists Really Care?
The next new episode of Aftermath is on 10 October. This week and next A&E is airing reruns of earlier episodes. There is plenty of material in those shows -- I recommend watching them again even if you have watched them before as many people find more revealing information in each episode that was missed in the first viewing. Relevant to Aftermath, and especially to scientology's response to every show a couple of observations/thoughts. Do Scientologists Really Care? It is a curious, and rather disturbing, fact that run of the mill scientologists on social media never (and this … [Read more...]
LAPD What Are You Thinking?
Are they going to explain to everyone that the solution is to hand out Way To Happiness booklets? It's worked so well in Venezuela and other places... How about human trafficking, fraud and destroying families? Not part of the agenda? The LAPD and other organizations need to pay better attention and be more diligent about who they team up with. Of course, their argument is that they will work together with anyone who wants to improve the community, and that is understandable. What they don't realize is: a. How scientology will use them to gain legitimacy for themselves b. What … [Read more...]

Grief and Leaving Scientology
It's Saturday -- Terra Cognita is in the house! Grief and Leaving Scientology In 1969, Swiss psychiatrist, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross introduced her famous five stages of grief. Later, she expanded the model to include trauma such as the death of a loved one, major rejection, and the onset of disease. Over the years, others have modified her model. Her original five stages are: Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance Many Scientologists go through similar stages when leaving the church. Others pass through these stages once they’ve left. Denial Most e … [Read more...]

Scientology’s Response to Episode 6
Here is my customary response to the weekly scientology insanity that appears on their website during the airing of each episode of The Aftermath. Anyone who sees the vile invective spewed by scientology about EVERYONE who ever says anything they don't like reaches the same conclusion: scientology's reaction is evidence of the truth of the experiences each of these people recounts. This organization is hateful, vindictive and insane. No story is too incredible to be believed. There is no reason NOT to believe everything that is said by the victims. So, let's take a look at this week's … [Read more...]
