This was a recent article in Canada about the Quebec City "ideal" org. There are a few things of note. The sleaze that scientology staff are "volunteers" has worked in a lot of countries and states. Apparently, their luck ran out in Quebec. It is a farce to claim that people who often work 60, 70 or 80 hours a week on a "staff pay system" with contracts that have enforcement clauses if the full term is not served are "volunteers." It strains all credibility when you see the recruitment pitches to join offering $500 to $1000 per week (see last Thursday Funnies). As the … [Read more...]

Scientology Hype
It's Maiden Voyage season again -- "A celebration so spectacular it will take your breath away" -- and the hype-o-meter is peaking. Actually, it's that time of year David Miscavige makes a scuba diving trip to the Caribbean and "the elite" (used to be OT VIII's only, but there are no longer enough of them with enough money to fill the ship) are told to attend to listen to 4 events "up close and personal." Each year it is the same pattern. They start with an event recognizing the "amazing work" of the "OT Ambassadors" doing crazy fundraising events, along with some false stats they … [Read more...]
Groups, Collaboration, and the Bank
I know there are some withdrawal symptoms accompanying the end of the Sunday Serial. To help, here is another of Terra's signature essays. Groups, Collaboration, and the Bank In Keeping Scientology Working, L. Ron Hubbard wrote, “The common denominator of a group is the reactive mind. Thetans without banks have different responses. They only have their banks in common. They only agree on bank principles. Person to person the bank is identical.” I don’t think so. The common denominator of a group is not the reactive mind. Such a notion is not only a gross … [Read more...]
Make Money (So We Can Sucker You In)…
Companion to the post of a couple of days ago Make More Money (So We Can Take It)... This is another twist on the "prosperity doctrine" that informs everything in scientology. Creflo Dollar and his prosperity theology have nothing on scientology. This one is a new approach. Offer to teach "wogs" how to make money, and use that as bait to get them to do a Comm Course! Scientology: It's all about the money. … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
RB has a family commitment this week, so I have pulled out a crowd favorite from 2015 -- the timeless nature of these RB strips is a great reflection on the "stuck in time" nature of scientology. Wedded to the words of L. Ron Hubbard, it's Groundhog Day all over again.... … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
Only $25... ...to find out how an episode on the CSN came about. Half price status... Always a good buy. And what was the "Victory"?? They still need to "ensure" they complete their construction target. So the victory was convincing people to show up for yet another fundraiser? Are you ready? They're still getting ready? Surely they are now overwhelmed with people flooding into the orgs (haha) Part Time $1000/week... Yeah, sure. If you buy this line you deserve everything you (don't) get. Not very convincing Something … [Read more...]
Make More Money (So We Can Take It)
Scientology, neatly summarized in poster form. The world of scientology revolves around money. Scientology organizations rape and pillage to get their hands on every dollar possible. Individual scientologists constantly struggle to hang onto enough that is not sucked into the religious vacuum cleaner to be able to live. Then a few of the money-worshippers actually make THEIR money by convincing other scientologists to pay them for telling them how to make enough money to survive. It's like the old illustration of the little fish being eaten by the bigger fish … [Read more...]
More Wisdom from Ron
Another in the series of posts about the insane practice of scientologists plucking statements from "Ron" and presenting them as the most valuable words of wisdom in the history of language. This is apparently an "amazing" quote: What is so brilliant about this gibberish? And what are you supposed to DO with it? Another sad exposition of cult mentality -- the words of the leader can never be questioned or doubted. Scientologists firmly believe that IF Hubbard said it, it is not merely "true" but a profound pronouncement based on unassailable research. After all, he said he did … [Read more...]
Time, Place, Form and Event – The End
My apologies. Somehow there was a screw up in the copying of the text and a chunk was omitted. Both Terra and I have been out all day and I just saw the message with the additional chapters now added. The final installment of the first draft of a novel written by our old friend Terra Cognita. Hope you have enjoyed it each Sunday for the past few months. Terra welcomes all suggestions and feedback -- this is draft -- you can note them in the comments. Chapter 73 “I don’t care what Connolly or anyone else says; seeing Mr. Macias was the right thing to do,” I said. Roxy an … [Read more...]
Unnamed Sources
What are they afraid of by never including anyone's name? I'll tell you: Either the person does not really exist, and this is just made up copy like testimonials for the local greasy spoon written by the owner, his wife and family members, or They are scientologists who happen to be "a police officer" or a "crime documentary producer" (who makes videos for CCHR...), or The people who write these have NO IDEA they have anything to do with scientology, or that their statements are going to be used to promote scientology. If their name was included someone might contact them and ask … [Read more...]
