Someone sent me this article recently which I had not seen before. It was originally published on MentalHealth.com and I found it to be generally informative though by nature of it being very broad to cover all cults, I think there are some things in here that are not so applicable to scientology. I have left a few comments in red italics throughout. How being in a cult can affect your mental health Author: Sean JacksonMedical Reviewer: Morgan Blair People who join cults often do so out of a strong desire to belong, matter, and give meaning to their lives. In reality, cults often d … [Read more...]

10,008 on Solo NOTs, How Many OT VIII’s?
Interesting scientology doesn’t publicize how many people have completed OT VIII (and they certainly don't want anyone to know about Whitney Mills in the photo above -- she died by self-inflicted gunshot in Clearwater in 2022). There is, of course, a good reason the number is not publicized. It's so low it would make it very clear there aren’t close to 10,000 on or through Solo NOTs who remain involved in scientology. There probably aren't even 5,000 at this point. After the years long grind and enormous expense of OT VII - not just paying for the training course (OT VI - not an … [Read more...]
A Classic Scientology Media Dead Agent Letter
I happened to come across this the other day, and thought it worth commenting on. It is a letter sent in the name of Karin Pouw to ABC 20/20 after they had been provided a series of questions before an interview with Leah Remini by Dan Harris aired. The interview in fact aired on Oct 29, 2015 as part of the release publicity for her book Troublemaker. Here is the letter in full, and my comments in red script October 26, 2015 John Bentley ABC News 20/20 47 West 66th Street New York, NY 10023 Re: ABC’s program and the Church of Scientology Dear Mr. Bentley: This letter … [Read more...]
San Francisco — Poster Child for the Ideal Org Fail
Last Thursday I included an item about San Francisco "ideal org" being #1 in the birthday game with a photo of their staff in front of the building. It got me thinking about the history of this org -- it was the third "ideal org" that Miscavige yanked his ribbon in front of, right after Buffalo and Joburg. It was a big deal -- back then (2003) scientology could still manage to get actually recognizable people to show up to their events rather than a few nebulous “former member of the interfaith cooperative for youth advancement” or the “regional assistant honorary drug counselor.” Th … [Read more...]
NEW: Exposing Scientology Podcast with Michele Adair
I have restarted the Exposing Scientology podcast after a few months hiatus. There are some earlier YouTube videos that I will be converting to podcast episodes and they will be available periodically over the next little while. But I wanted to restart the podcast with something new -- and lucked out by having Michele Adair agree to join me. She has fascinating insight as a result of being a Mental Health Counselor in the Navy for 11 years and then marrying Rachael Hastings, one of David Miscavige's former camerawomen. Michele shares helpful information and advice from her years … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
Isn't that amazing! They went from nobody to 5 people in the org -- an increase of 100000000% You have to wonder that scientologists don't cotton on to the fact that the Birthday Game is completely rigged. It is a propaganda tool to make it appear the ideal org program is a success. It's in the "small chapel" Obviously this guy doesn't draw much of a crowd even when a free dinner is offered. Camp Theta? Send your 15 to 19 year olds to be indoctrinated into scientology You do NOT want to miss it... So much for obliterating, … [Read more...]
25,000 on Solo NOTs: They’re Off!
They're off and running -- already have 8 of the 25,000 they need. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was 8 in one week (if it was, they were the people they had pushed to make the 4 May target and didn't get through in time, sort of a backlog). 8 per week is 400 per year. To get 15,000 more than will take more than 30 YEARS. And they are all excited about this new "game" -- so excited that they have produced a bunch of merch.... You can bet this stuff is expensive if you want to buy it. There is something else of note -- they … [Read more...]
Dianetics Didn’t Fix Her Eyesight?
Here is another one of the scientology "press releases"-- note where it was picked up. Even more obscure than the last one which was in a small paper in Richmond, Kentucky. No scientology org in Malaysia at all. This concerns one of the people featured on ScientologyTV "Meet a Scientologist" "series" -- a Hungarian hot air balloonist. The release begins by explaining "Dalma Császár overcame a vision impairment to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional hot air balloon pilot." Of course, you would think the next line would be how Dianetics cured her. Hubbard e … [Read more...]
Lyin’ Ryan Prescott is Back (Sort Of)
Remember Lyin' Ryan? Champion of CCHR. Live streamer extraordinaire? Author of the non-seller: A Billion Lies: The Highest Ranks of the Church of Scientology Couldn't Throw Him Out Fast Enough that scientology put out as a "response" to the release of my book A Billion Years: My Escape from the Highest Ranks of Scientology He offered himself as the Savior of Clearwater, vowing he would prevent Mark Bunker from being elected to the city council in 2020 (he didn't) For a while, he was the darling of OSA. He was willing to have his name used for anything to try to curry favor. He fell of … [Read more...]
Scientology Mother’s Day
One of the most galling things about scientology is their claim they are "pro-family" and consider relationships and communication the most fundamental things in life. Mother's Day slams home the cruelty of what scientology ACTUALLY practices when it comes to familial relations. For everyone out there who IS connected to their mother, please enjoy this day and make it special. You never really appreciate the value of family until it is no longer available to you. But in remembering and enjoying the good, let's not forget the horrors of disconnection enforced by scientology. … [Read more...]
