Some hot off the presses “good news” from Flag in the form of an EMail from our old friend Clive Rabey.
Apparently LA is “leading the way for the scientology world” with 2 OT VI Comps (meaning two new people auditing Solo NOTs) and one OT VII (Completion of Solo NOTs). Woohoo, that is mind-blowingly awesome. It is the best in the whole world.
And not only that. They have 20 people “ready to arrive” once the “travel restrictions”(?) are lifted (I was unaware you could not travel between LA and Tampa?)
And this is “totally showing the way how to turn this current crazy social motion out there to advantage”?
And thank Xenu, it is all “directed by our astounding Chairman of the Board RTC.” Can you imagine what the world would be like without Dear Leader?
Clive announces to everyone that Flag is carrying on as usual even during social distancing orders — it’s not just business as usual in the AO, it is “highest evers”!!! They’re cramming them in and of course don’t have a concern in the world as these are the least PTS people on earth.
And, you will be impressed to learn they are “working on” getting every single Scientologist, studying on their Routes to Knowledge. And as he notes “what could be more flourish and prosper than getting the Knowledge that is going to serve you for the rest of your existence?” And of course, Flag has “highest ever” extension course completions. Who woulda thunk it? They even have “a plan” to “start to work” on an “upside down graph” which shows who is left to get started “there are still a few.” Which begs the question, how long does it take to draw a graph and what is all the “planning” and “getting ready to get started” to draw a graph?
And all of this is to overcome “any attempted distractions and counter intention from those 2½% insane and the other 17 to 18% who are effect of them.” Obviously the 2 1/2% are behind the pandemic. Dear Leader said they were just bullbaiting us, so we need to get our TR’s in and win, win, win.
And because Hubbard claimed scientology was booming in 1973 in the face of the oil crisis, if you recite that quote today it proves we are doing so again. Absolutely bonkers.
This email perfectly encapsulates the delusional world of scientology. This is one of the top people in scientology getting out a message to the flock. And it is as unreal as Kenneth Copeland blowing away Covid-19 with the breath of Jesus.
Yet, scientologists truly believe they are the ONLY sane people on earth.
Direct from Flag!! Good news!!!
Message to LA. – 17 April 2020
You are once again leading the way for the Scientology world just like you have so many times before:
a) You got two New OT VI Comps last week, now part of the First 10,000, despite the pandemic,
b) And got one New OT VII despite the pandemic,
c) Your webinars are pushing Source and moving people up the Bridge,
d) You now have over 20 people so far ready to arrive from LA to the Flag AO as soon as the travel restrictions get lifted.
You are totally showing the way on how to turn this current crazy social motion out there to advantage, just as LRH directed in the Dianetic Jingles: “If a motion comes in, use and win.” LRH
Following is some of the stats from last week that you helped create and some more data you might find useful.
In Ron’s Journal 31 on 1 December 1979 LRH stated: “All a suppressive person or society is trying to do is prevent one from flourishing and prospering.
“Of course, one has to handle threats or attacks. But don’t get stuck in on them. One handles them but puts his main attention on doing things that will make one and the group flourish and prosper.” LRH – RJ 31
As I think you know, we are doing everything we can to handle the “threats and attacks” (invisible this time) and safeguard our orgs, our staff and our public. As worked out and directed by our astounding Chairman of the Board RTC, the sanitation and defense actions being taken are so professional, so far above anything anyone else is doing anywhere on the planet it has all resulted in zero illnesses here at the Flag Base.
With that in, per the above reference we need to put our attention on “FLOURISH AND PROSPER.”
And we are doing that at Flag: the big, big news from the Flag AO last week is that last week we achieved another MAJOR milestone:
Just yesterday morning, Thursday 16th April, at approximately 10AM we passed 7,750 Onto or Through Solo NOTs.
In fact we had 8 public complete New OT VI and go onto New OT VII last week, so we are now at 7,752 towards our overall goal of getting to the First 10,000!
The number of Solo NOTs sessions is way, way Highest Ever, breaking 50,000 last week, over 12,000 above our range from just three weeks ago.
That’s 7,153 Solo NOTs sessions every single day, or 299 an hour or one session starting somewhere in one of the 43 nations where we have Solo NOTs auditors, every 12 seconds. Some of you might recall that not so long ago I was telling you we had a Solo NOTs session starting every 24 seconds, so that will tell you how far we have come.
Meanwhile the R6EW to OT III hours were Highest Ever for the third week straight, over 600 hours above earlier ranges.
OTs Made last week totaled 18: one New OT I, two OT IIs, three OT IIIs, one New OT IV, three New OT Vs, eight New OT VIs as mentioned and one New OT VII (Daniel Sadeh from LA).
Just since LRH’s Birthday week last month we have made 117 OTs and the number of public receiving their Eligibility Chit to go onto OT levels was at 11 last week and 75 just since that same LRH Birthday week.
On and on, the good news just keeps piling up. Now if that is not thumbing our noses to the SPs in times like these, then I do not know what is.
The next point we are working on is to get everyone, every single Scientologist, studying on their Routes to Knowledge; what could be more flourish and prosper than getting the Knowledge that is going to serve you for the rest of your existence?
This is also going very well with all statistics for this area here at Flag between double to 4X ranges from just a month ago and so far above previous Highest Evers they are not worth mentioning. There is now a plan to start to work on an upside down graph, with zero at the top, thus showing how many Scientologist we have remaining to get started; yes there are still a few. Again this is where the WUS can help; get everyone onto the Extension Course here at Flag or in any WUS Org or at any of your great missions and show the world how to do it.
This is all putting our attention on things that will make one and the group flourish and prosper despite any attempted distractions and counter intention from those 2½% insane and the other 17 to 18% who are effect of them.
In his lecture Project Third Dynamic from December 1956 LRH stated:
“The time to bat a tyranny in the head is when you can still bat! People at large in this day and time are too prone to wait until it’s too tall to reach, and they’re too small to wiggle. Living requires a little foresight. And if you have a little foresight, you can see what’s happening.” – LRH
This COVID19 crisis has been bad enough. It should be a real wake-up call for all Scientologists. Without being too much of a scare monger, I do want to point out that, should it happen, the next pandemic that Mother Nature (or some SP) wants to throw at us might be far more serious and lethal that this one.
The way we “bat tyrannies in the head” is flourishing and prospering and by moving more and more people through their services out there and then up to the top of the Bridge.
This is such a vital point it is absolutely impossible to overstate. Moving yourself and others up the Bridge is of the utmost importance.
The full and final handling for this current scene and for the future is to get more and more people onto New OT VII and New OT VIII, getting enough OTs on Planet Earth.
THE NEED TO ACT IS NOW! NO ONE CAN AFFORD TO WAIT!
Our next major target on the First 10,000 Onto or Through Solo NOTs campaign is of course another 248 to get to 8,000—the original date set for that had been the Maiden Voyage Anniversary Event in June. We were almost fully confirmed up to that before the current hysteria set in. Of course we are expecting all of those to arrive as soon as the authorities allow. But many, many more need to be added to those to drive us rapidly past that 8,000 and up to the completion of the First 10,000.
Here at the Flag Base we continue to prepare for when things do open up, which they will; all folders are getting top to bottom folder error summaries, ethics files being summarized, etc.
In December 1973 in Ron’s Journal 4, when there was also an international shut down, that time due to supposed (actually created) fuel shortages, LRH wrote the following: “WE are going UP while the world is coming down!
“It is the subject of sociology statistics that we are the fastest growing religion in the world. And that when all orthodox faiths are in steep decline.
“Of course there’s a certain amount of plain hell managing things in the hail of falling currencies, commodities and institutions. But all that takes a hard line professionalism that keeps on going brilliantly despite the failures around us.
“We are in actual fact booming during a worldwide crash!
“Well, sociologists have been predicting for years that when things went to pieces culturally a new religion would pick up the pieces. That’s us. …
“We are not pleased at all the Powers-that-were made such a mess. But we can take full advantage of it.
“And we are doing so.
“This is OUR planet.
“We have the tech, we have the know-how of admin. We can use it fully and effectively.
“We might as well move in!” – LRH – 14 December 1973 RON’S JOURNAL 4
So let’s move in!
Thank you for everything you are doing; let’s continue and even increase it as we all flourish and prosper.

Flag liberally uses Decon 7 to apparently decontaminate their property.
What’s more concerning is that Able has directed every Scientology ie Applied Scholastics licensed school to also use this. I don’t have to state how this could be a bad thing, especially on the developing bodies of young people.
Sure I don’t expect adults at Flag to pick things up and put it in their mouths, but I expect that at schools with children under 5.
If you look into Decon 7 it’s had a fairly shady past. Seems like a perfect fit for Scientology.
Formost says
Anyone’s personal reasons and purposes for doing Scientology in the first place will quickly be supplanted by “Stats” and “Targets”, railroading one’s self-improvement aspirations into Organizational objectives and other distractions and nonsense.

While on stuff we were made to believe that the upper level materials were restimulative and could drive Readers insane or kill them if not properly set up for them. Lrh Himself said so in more than one occasion. I’ve blindly believed him and protected them for the safeguard of my fellow men. It now turns out that for the untrained are meaningless, and for the Others who can understand them, nobody was ever hurt or driven insane simplly because it was a false claim. Another point worth to mention was the rule of not disscussing your sessions or case with anybody else besides technical personnel. It was supposedly doe to protect you, but as I see it now , it was done to prevent Others from figuring out things were not going as promised.

“travel restrictions” MIGHT refer to people not wanting to fly just now. Social distancing is impossible in those flying sardine cans
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
You may be right, Jere. I rode the bus from northern Maine to San Diego 3 weeks ago and there were no restrictions. Hell, I was in Times Square a month ago. Those guys sound like a bunch of cowards. (But then, I have found that you no longer worry about dying when you are already dead.) But this idea that they do not want to come to Flag right now as it is impossible to do social distancing is in Non-Compliance with Command Intention. DM said that the virus was just bullbait and I pity any poor bastard who remains in the Church but goes against DM.
Chee Chalker says
From Maine to San Diego on a bus?!
How long did that take?
I’ve always wanted to make a cross country trip like that, but imagined it as a train ride.
I need more details – do they stop over for more than an hour anywhere or is this just “we’re powering through this, everyone hang on”
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
Going Greyhound sometimes you just keep going for hours and hours and sometimes you have a lot of stops; some of which are short and you cannot get off the bus.
Sometimes there is a delay for weather or the driver runs out of hours (can only legally drive so many hours per day.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
I used to calculate the Advanced Tech VSD stat at Flag every Wednesday night by going to all of the AOs including Solo Nots HGC and the Solo HGC and adding up the VSD. It was my understanding that a percentage of that amount was paid to RTC for allowing the FSO the use of the OT materials.
As HGC Admin 4A , one of my duties was to supply correction lists for the auditors and also sign out the NOTS Packs to the auditors. Since I could not get mimeo to do jack shit, I took one of the. Gestetner offset presses that FB left behind when they went to LA. I found a Gestetner outlet in Tampa and went there for supplies and data. Now the FB had a thing like a copy machine which copied the image to a paper plate and also used aluminum plates which would last a long time. The paper plates were only good for one run. The copier did not work and so I typed the correction lists on paper plates. For example, an English FPRD Correction list is 12 pages; but in German it is 16 pages. So I had to type 16 pages in German without any mistake and I do not speak Deutsch.
So when I ran them off I ran off like 6 cases of paper to supply the entire FLB.
The confidential lists were a little tougher. I got someone of NOTs case level to run them off. But then I had to get them coalated. I have good eyesight, put anything in front of me and know what it says. So I remember we got a Tech Page
By the name of Mark Jones (Bee-Bop Jones people called him) to take his glasses off and cooliate them. Without his glasses he was as blind as a bat.
Good solution until I received an Ethics Chit from one of the auditors auditing NOTs when she was using the NOTS correction list and turned the page to find it blank.
Now how was I supposed to handle that?
Had I qual checked the final product to ensue it was correct I would have been shot for out-security; just as the poor dumb bastard who, in the Solo Nots HGC read the SOLO NOTs packs every night. A mission arrived, and he was gone. I heard he went Psycho, but I do not know.
Later I had to watch two psychos on the ship for months, and I consider myself fortunate to have survived that.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
This idea that: You will be shot if you do this and You will also be shot if you don’t just comes fown to the fact that “YOU WILL BE SHOT. I finally accepted the idea that one of my primary duties as a Sea Org member was to be cannon fodder when deemed necessary by my superiors. I did not have to worry about my direct superiors; they would never shoot me as they would have to do my post, a thing that would have been very difficult to do.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
I apologize for continuing this further but once I start writing, I remember more stuff. Like something known as “Hours Counts”. VSD is counted when a person finishes an intensive. I used to set VSD targets each night as part of my Board I/C hat. Maybe Joe; or perhaps I should use real names; if that bothers anyone, let me know, most of them are dead by now anyway. So say Albert Lipschutz ( who was a PC of Ken Urquhart who I have no doubt received more hours of NED for OTs than anyone on the planet. He had over 1200 hours when David Light, his reg said to not bother sending him to the reg to resign; he was a diamond guy from I believe South Afrika and he had lots of money; if he needed more hous just sent a page to get another invoice.
He looked like a bum sitting outside the HGC and he drew some complaints; but what the hell, he was one of out best customers.
All of those kaffirs in South Afrika; the money went straight into the org in what was clearly the greatest good for the greatest number of 3rd dynamics.
Now these hours counts which I referred to earlier is based on this: An auditor does the session, the time of which is recorded in the worksheets and the Folder Summary. The auditor comes out of session, writes the folder up, or not and logs the time of the session in a book in the HGC. This was necessary because the poor dumb bastard (in this case myself) could not get the data from the PC folder as we(I) were lower case level. So an auditor would occasionly fail to log sessions in this log as he was eager to take his next PC. So, on Wednesday night if. VSD target failed to be made we would check the folder summary against the log. Often, a session or two would be missing and by correcting the log, the VSD target would be met. These errors always went the same way, an auditor in a hurry to get to the next session would fail to credit himself and the org for the last session.
However, in numerous instances there were hours reported in the log which were not in the folder summary nor in the worksheets.
These PCs all had the same auditor.
To be Continued:
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass ( who else would make a comment like this). says
To make a long story shorter, the auditors name was Pierre Ethier. He was falsifying his WDAH daily by adding hours in the log which had no corresponding data in the FS or worksheets. When I wrote a report to HCO, he wasComm-Eved and admitted it. There was another auditor in the 12-1 HGC and they were in a race to see which of them could falsify their stat more!.
Pierre was usually the winner. He was the SO auditor of the year several years in a row and was awarded each Auditors Day.
When I corrected his PCs hours to what they actually were I found that one PC who had run out of hours and sent home without finishing NOTs actually had almost 2 intensives left!
unelectedfloofgoofer says
Fascinating inside information! The cult must be furious now that lucrative auditing income has plummeted without precedent.
Cat W. says
What does VSD stand for? I can’t find it in Scientologese dictionaries.
Mike Rinder says
Value of Services delivered.
If someone pays $10,000 in advance for 25 hours of auditing, when the first “intensive” (12.5 hours) is delivered it counts as $5,000 VSD. If someone pays $3,000 for a course, when they complete it, that is $3,000 VSD.
Scientology orgs invariable take in more money for services than they deliver — their “GI” or Gross Income is higher than their VSD so they are accumulating “backlogged delivery”… In any other business this would be seen as a liability.
Cat W. says
Thanks!
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
It should be in the Admin dictionary.
VSD stands for Value of Service Delivered”. It is the amount paid for the service counted at the time that service has been delivered. In auditing it is counted after each intensive or when the entire service is attested to.
Imaberrated says
I’m one of the 2 1/2% SPs, twisted and evil. The problem is that they’ve declared far more than 2 1/2% of the Scientology population. I didn’t think about that when I was in. There are a lot of things you can be declared for. It’s not hard to transgress, like I did. Whether you get declared is fickle. In my case, they wanted a scapegoat for downstats. It was years before I realised the “real why”—Scientology doesn’t work! That’s why we couldn’t get people in for service!
Loosing My Religion says
Imaberrated true. We can also say that it is as if a good part of the 2 1/2% of the planetary SPs have been drawn into the Cult.
If this were the case, then the workability of scientology would be very doubtful.
But he truth is simple: it is a profit-making organization that uses ethics as a control tool and that has totally gone out of control, asphalting without any compassion thousands of people.
And it can be seen from the current ‘condition’ in which it really is. Deep danger that is becoming non-existence.
The true SPs are those behind the wheel.
A great job I would say.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
LRH said that when he hears someone say that everyone should be shot he puts the advisor up against a brick wall.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass ( who else would make a comment like this). says
If they have made an upside down graph with zero at the top showing how many people are left to get on the course it can only be for the reason that they know that the number of Scientologists are decreasing. That sounds like DM came up with this stat
The stat will be in Power only when there are no Scientologists left alive or undeclared.

Seriously…does anyone HAVE an accurate number of how Covid 19 has affected Clear Water…OR COS
Loosing My Religion says
Battle Lady. It is gonna be hard to know it even for those inside.
As far as I think, one of the first directives was to NOT say anything to the wogs authorities at all and to secretly move those who gave the idea of having symptoms to some hidden structure.
After all for those accustomed to lying this should be a routine practice.

LMR: So very sad to even THINK that deaths will be hidden……I think of so many older folks that have be referred to or talked about here….like HUBER…..seriously….all that time & dedication & for what……?
Can’t go up a bridge that in reality doesn’t exist….everyone KNOWS there is no “second chance at life”….no “replacement meat body”….but yet the belief in all that is sooo strong.
Dear LMR….Thank you for you reply! I am delighted that at least many of you have seen the TRUTH an opted out for a FREE LIFE….but again…breaks me down to know the family left behind that feel as if you “abandoned them”….THEY cannot have contact with you & we ALL know why…..so damned sick & heart breaking.
As I’ve said so many times before>>>THANK YOU EVERYONE for continuing to ENLIGHTEN the World at large as to what goes on behind the “IRON CURTAIN OF COS”….
For the dedicated elderly still locked inside……my heart goes out to them as well.
LoosingMyReligion says
Battle Lady. It is I who thank you.
Unfortunately, one must have been inside and ‘woken up’ to understand the duplicity of the thing.
And even after one comes out he has a layer of half-truths that continues to stay on him and confuse him.
Most of those I knew were always good people who were there with the intention of helping. But then they end up in what Mike also calls ‘prison of belief’.
With friends I am studying how to help those inside to see better and give informations on what to do to those who have relatives or friends in the cult to get them out of this prison of belief. We’ll see.
LoosingMyReligion says
BL. An addition.
The mother of one of these friends is on the OT levels.
So it is assumed that she has already reached a concept of who is truly deeper, and as far as his conscience is concerned, she has greater freedom of thought.
But is not so. She tried to show her mother some facts such as that they are lying about the expansion and other demonstrable things.
Well she didn’t want to see anything.
Completely absorbed in the bubble.

While working with DCFS/CPS a group of us were helping a young woman who escaped FLDS……she managed to slip away & had in her possession a cheap burner phone by which she called to ask for help.
She was picked up by a group of “our friends” (I’ll leave it at that to protect them) & give a lovely fully furnished & equipped place to stay, clothes, food, & registered for GED.
She had been so sheltered she knew nothing about life on the outside & had to be as one might expected “reschooled on a new life”. After a few months, she slipped away & you guessed it…went back to FLDS leaving a note saying she missed her family, siblings & the life she’d always known & wasn’t comfortable in this “new life”. Everyone & everything she encountered was totally AGAINST the way she was raised.
We heard from friends (our inside sources) that once she returned to FLDS, she was severely “punished”….sent far away from her family, locked inside day & night, & abused & then married off to a man in his 50’s & immediately after the wedding she was pregnant FAST.
Since she was now over 18, there was nothing we could do.& since she couldn’t call anyone…same as Shelly M….the word given to the authorities was “she doesn’t wish to be seen”….& THEY took that as truth.
Thank you dear friend for your enlightenment….I hope each & every day anyone caught up in these types of CULTS finds a way out & safety….it sickens me that this goes on in our country.
LoosingMyReligion says
BattleLady. Thank you. REALLY. This goes on all over the world. One way or another there are abused to expose. Seems like it will always remain a deep mystery & nothing will come out UNLESS someone on the INSIDE risks all & spills the truth…..As far as “they go…..they’d probably use the excuse from “A Few Good Men” Movie…
YOU CAN”T HANDLE THE TRUTH…..
They’d be correct after hearing how many on the OUTSIDE are already dead from Covid 19 & COS hid behind the “iron Curtain” of Silence…
Wynski says
Balletlady. yes we can only look at verified data. And that data so far shows that this virus is about as bad as a powerful influenza bug that happens once in ten years or so.

I think I might have some insight into the thinking process and mindset of some of the longtime Scios who doggedly stay loyal and in good standing with their organization. I don’t think delusional is the most accurate description of what goes through their heads. It’s more of a variation of the mental gymnastics that Orwell described and defined as “doublethink.”
I think that in the backs of their terribly manipulated minds they know full well how ridiculously off the wall their church stats are. But they choose not to think about it. They’re caught up in a doublethink dilemma: On one hand they know they’re putting up with a lot of BS. On the other hand, they must accept the BS as true in order to remain a loyal member in good standing.
In effect, loyal Scios must constantly play mental games in a way similar to what Orwell notes, “…to forget whatever it is necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it is needed, and then promptly to forget it again…”
One might say that Hubbard’s tech consists mostly of the ability to lie, not only to others, but to oneself.
Queen B says
117 new OT’s since Hubbard’s birthday last month with 18 of them being made in 1 week. Average number of live births in the US daily is 10,800. I’m no mathematician but the numbers clearly show Scientology isn’t taking over its own neighborhood block ,much less the planet. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Those being wasted in the delusion of Scientology’s planetary growth are the true shameful stats of this organization.

Flourish and prosper is a great goal.
Of course, that’s what most humans have been striving to do, day in and day out, for the last thousands of years.
Yes, you could argue that LRH pointed to this goal as something to focus on as opposed to getting distracted by ’’enemies’’, ‘’attackers’’, ending up diving down into vengeful rabbit holes and retribution.
A very wise and useful insight.
And again, it is evidence that, no, not everything he said, when taken one point at a time, was lies and deluded.
Not at all!
And THAT was precisely the magnet.
That is why people got in and stayed.
Some is very wise. Some is partly true. Some is erroneous. Some is downright harmful. And there are some serious inconsistencies across the materials.
With all the consequences we have been through.
I am not talking about the source of the information, whether it was his own insights, uncanny ability to express, total inventions, or rephrasing of old proverbs, or his refashioning of thousands of prior authors and observations compiled in the libraries of humankind.
That is a different topic.
As a matter of fact, the more prior evidence is found that principles had been expressed before by many, supports all the more the assertion written, doesn’t it?
I am talking only about what is written on the page, at face value. What are the thoughts and concepts you get as you read what is on the page? Was it at times interesting, illuminating, confusing, unreal, lame? Did it explain things or did it conflict with your own living?
My own experience was there was all of it. But what I hung on were the positive. Again, regardless of the original source, a different topic.
Was I really going to read all the books in the libraries to check if this had been said before? Of course not. Only my limited life experience and acquired knowledge was the barometer. And, not least, my verifying of the information, but also limited in work scope in light of the burdens of living.
To come back to the main point of Flourish and Prosper as opposed to getting distracted by attacks and enemies.
That is one example of the most flagrant inconsistencies you can find in his ’’millions of words’’ when you precisely look at the vengeful treatments of people according to the Ethics Tech.
All the ingredients are there: Some truths, some partially applicable principles, and some very wrong and harmful assertions (called Technology).
And lo and behold, probably the biggest cause of the demise of Scientology.
The violation of his own principle (he had expressed this in different ways before the issuance of ‘’Flourish and Prosper’’ ) have led to all the despicable declares, disconnections, injustice, betrayals, tears and pain we all have endured and continue to.
The lessons-learned:
1) There are and will be more magnetic and inspiring “LRHs” in the world
2) No, what they express is not all a pack of lies
3) The truths, or rather the valuables, they spout out are the attractors
4) The volume of truths and inconsistencies is the gray area they take advantage of
5) When your son, daughter, brother, wife, nephew, or whoever comes to you with this shiny look of inspiration about this latest religion, philosophy, guru, or personality, listen to them carefully, sort out the truths from the delusions that have captivated them.
6) The last thing to do is to tell them it’s all a scam! Not that it may have some great impact occasionally. But unlikely. Many gave me that when I was a 20 year old. It did not hold water against my actual new realizations about life, i.e. ‘’true to me’’, right or wrong!
6) Validate what you consider is valuable, and take issue with the crap one at a time, whether it’s in real time or after checking things out. Counsel them to think about it , check out your information and LOOK.
7) Like in the information on cults we can find, the biggest principle to warn them about is about the bubble effect. It’s bad news when anyone tells you not to look. Tell them, More looking, not less looking.
Ironic, isn’t it?

What you have written, in my humble opinion, is very wise.

Bill Strass, you sure were in the trenches in the thick of it, to say the least!
Much appreciated coming from you.
We might as well use our tribulations for the future.

Bill Straass posted that he was on the Freewinds in 1988 when the OT VIII material was released.
Ray Mithoff was protecting the folders from massive mold that had arrived.
Hubbard should have called me before he wrote the OT VIII Bulletin. I could have easily cleared him up on his definition of Original Buddhism. How can you hijack a religion when you don’t even understand it?
At any rate, this is key information because it links together the fraud, the cover up, and the RICO Act violations of Scientology. Hubbard writes nonsense and Ray Mithoff tries to protect it as if it was the truth. Then Miscavige trashes it and then takes it back with a new date.
It gets down to the First Amendment in the United States that they think protects them. But what if the religion is nothing but a fraud? Personally, I think I have enough now to file a lawsuit against scientology. The statute of limitations is voided when new information appears. Thanks Bill.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
Mr Mithoff was not protecting the folders from the fungus.
For several weeks before MV the vents engineer was putting filters in the vents for the OTVIII courseroom. We had orders not to allow any dirt or fungus to come out of the ducting. Of course, the more filters you put in the less air will come out. The priority was to keep the fungus out of the courseroom on opening day. This was achieved but Captain ( I think that Ray Mithoff was I/G Tech then) told me to remove the filters just as Alice was calling roll. I did not want to do this as I imagined what would happen. When my juniors and myself removed the filters fungus blew out of virtually all of the vents and I estimate that at least 1 of every 3 OTVIII course packs had visable fungus on them by the time
Alice finished calling roll. This was a correct call on Capt Mithoff’s part; it was more important that the students were cool (in the tropics) than to worry about fungus coming out which was brushed off of the packs.
I could not have done that without Capt Mithoff’s order as then I would have been shot. In later years my mental condition: but not my products) deteriorated to the point of wishing that I would be shot.
Fortunately for me, I had AIDS by then and it solved that problem while almost killing me. If you need any more information just let me know. By the way, I have never done the OT Levels. I am a last lifetime Clear; did my CCRD in 86 at FSO.

Well, if you’re going to have delusions, they might as well be good ones. I would not consider this delusion a ‘good’ one, but I don’t have to worry about my stats, just my statins.
Chee Chalker says
In the spirit of acknowledging when people do things correctly – I would like to ack Clive for the correct use of the word “monger” (“I don’t want to be a scare monger”).
Instead of the often misused “mongrel” as in when Jussie Smollett spoke of “fear mongrels”
So – very well done Clive!
As for the rest …. can you imagine having to gather these stats and present them in the most fabulous of all time light?!
Mind numbing to say the least
Ammo Alamo says
I remember lines at the gas pumps in the 70s. Whether actual or created, there was a gas shortage. No doubt in my mind. I had a big engine Plymouth that got 15 mpg on its best day, but its best day was long past, so I could count on about 12 mpg. My commute to work was a two-gallon round trip, not bad for the day, but not long after I changed jobs (and cars) and suddenly the commute was four gallons a day. Good thing that gasoline shortage wasn’t real or … or what? It was real. Just like coronavirus.
Whilst Gov. Abbot is “opening” Texas, my little county of 35,000 is just this past week starting to go up the curve. We are so isolated from the rest of civilization (it’s an hour drive just to get to the nearest interstate highway) that until recently there have been few cases of coronavirus, and very few cases of covid-19. Not anymore – 61 cases of covid-19 today, escalating up from just 2 a week ago. This is the real deal, finally hitting home where I live, but unfortunately right at the time my idiot Governor wants us all to go party together and get a massage or something.
Guess what is real? Waves. Yes, the Spanish Flu of 1918 came in three waves before it disappeared into history. One author wrote that we could expect a second wave of coronavirus for sure, but only time will tell. The protection we have in the US is distancing and sheltering and hand washing – that’s it. Right now I am trying to make sure we have two months of food in the house, especially meat, which could be in short supply soon.
On the positive side, my 72-year old in-law who was terribly ill with covid19, pneumonia, blood clots in his leg, and in and out of the hospital with all sorts of ravages is home and free of illness. Thank goodness for good healthcare and small miracles.
Life is real, and often difficult, no matter what a money-grubbing narcissist like Hubbard claimed.

Very good Ammo,
Taking personal responsibility for your (and yours) health and welfare is the key. We will all eventually get exposed to the virus. The fewer virus particles that we ingest the less likely it will hit us hard. Our Utah governor just relaxed our restrictions and they pointed out that the increases in cases will guide them in their next step, up or down.
Humorously incidental to the 70’s gas shortage: Around mid April a buddy in LA was driving home and saw a block long line of cars in the right lane and first thought: S**T, the line is to a gas station! Turned out to be the line of cars to a McDonalds drive-through.

Ammo, Speak of guzzlers: I used a “mod-sized” (for the day) Pontiac which always got 11.7 mph, city or highway, fast or stop-and-go —despite every trick I could throw at the thing. When it turned 22 years old and rusted out, I went to the nearest Pontiac dealership for another Pontiac to replace it, but every model they had was ‘way too complex with hoses and pipes. Then there was a little Subaru which had easy access to everything and no snake-pit of pipes & hoses. 187,000 miles later, about 8 years, and she was improving her gas mileage to 40 MPG. “They don’t make cars like they used to.”;-)BTW, during the ’70s’ “oil crisis” —supposedly because OPEC wasn’t shipping oil to us— A friend worked at a 100′ building overlooking Delaware Bay. There were dozens of oil tankers lined up waiting to unload at Philly’s idle refineries throughout that time according to him. THAT “crisis” WAS something other than was represented to us. I’m still trying to figure out WHO made the big bucks because of it.
jim rowles says
jere,
The Yom Kippur war of 1973 disrupted the flow of oil, plus the OPEC was created around then and they decided to no longer sell oil at 4 dollars a barrel.
Joe Pendleton says
When you are on staff, as I was in 1973 when Ron wrote that, it can be a lot of fun and very “heady” to hear that “this is OUR planet” … When you’re older and out, it seems just ridiculous and somewhat pathetic to realize that “OUR planet” fifty years later, consists primarily of a couple of blocks in Hollywood, the fairly empty downtown of a smallish Florida beach town and a prison like retreat in the hinterlands of Southern California.
jere Lull (39 years recovering) says
Joe, I’ll second that those were heady days when he stroked us
“true believers” like that.
Was there ANYTHING that Ron didn’t over-hype, exaggerate, with just enough recognizable reality to suck us into his bubble of unreality even deeper? That guy had SERIOUS paranoia and infected us with it, to the point where we believed those most absurd conspiracy theories he ascribed to: SPs around every corner, a dozen men causing ALL of scn’s legal woes, and PTS-ness being the ONLY cause of illness or failure to advance in scn.
Joe Pendleton says
Jere, it started with the section on The Clear, in DMSMH, a total lie and total hype and as so often in the religion game (eternal life, paradise, etc) IT SOLD! and Ron never stopped selling the moon, stars, time travel, full exteriorization, and finding a magic parking place whenever you needed one.
Mat Pesch says
I read the message from Clive and I can feel his desperation. The stats at Flags AO (Advanced Org) suck which means that COBs stat of Advanced Tech VSD suck. COB puts the pressure on his RTC staff who then push the pressure down the line. Clive works his “virus stat justifier” into his “good news” letter, he points out possible future business (WTF), half dones, etc. DESPERATION. None of his seniors can buy it as it would be “Suppressive Reasonableness” as per LRH policy. In order to prove that they are not in agreement with the reasonableness, the execs above Clive need to make his life a nightmare. Clive is about 65 years old and I’m sure he is going around Flag like an exhausted, hunted animal. He is probably trying to get sent out to L.A. to “drum up business” as a way to hide.
As HGC Admin 4A , one of my duties was to supply correction lists for the auditors and also sigh out the NOTS Packs to the auditors.
But then I had to get them coallated.

Mat, I don’t believe that The Twerp™ cares anything about “VSD” or any other delivery stat. He only cares about “Money in” flowing into the accounts which he alone controls. As long as he’s got the megabucks in his grasp and hot and cold running servants, he’s on top of the world, not needing anything that that money can’t buy, other than flunkies willing to be disposable “speed bumps”, cut-outs to protect his diminutive butt legally, no matter what illegalities he orders be done.
Martin Ottmann says
Debbie Cook told us during an executive meeting in 1992 that whenever she talked directly to Miscavige the first question he would ask her was: “How much is your GI (Gross Income)?”
Wynski says
Martin, THAT is because Hubtard made the stat for the very top of Scamology management the amount of money hidden in SO controlled bank accounts. Hubtard didn’t REALLY care about scamology being delivered. As long as the bank accounts were constantly enlarged top management was in a higher “condition”.
Wynski says
“b) And got one New OT VII despite the pandemic,”
Wouldn’t being made to stay at home make for MORE auditing on OT VII and NOT less? I have done MUCH more work around the house than before everything shut down.
These people are batsh!t crazy.
Loosing My Religion says
Wynski. Laughing! Me too. I renovated the house almost entirely. By myself no help and a hard job. Plumbing, painting, wood shop, garden, the facade, etc
They should come here to do some real “mest” with me. I have still a few things to finish.
