Next chapter in the footbullet parade.
I guess he doesn’t realize it, but this will give an accurate count of how many dedicated scientologists there are in the United States. HBO will be able to tally up how many cancellations they receive.
If it tops a couple of dozen I would be stunned.
These people demonstrate two things about fundamentalist scientologists (which is likely true of all fundamentalists):
1. They have a hugely inflated sense of their self-worth
2. They have tissue-paper thin skin.
It is sort of amazing that scientology does not believe they can live in the face of criticism.
If it was true that their technology is beyond anything ever seen before and is so powerful it can turn ordinary mortals into homo novis surely they can stand up to some criticism without the need to overreact? Why not let the good works and miracles demonstrate their worth instead of ranting about anyone and everyone that doesn’t share their views?
Every day, they prove the truth of what is contained in Going Clear.
BTW Cary Goulston is a “Power FSM” and professional brown noser.
Dan Przybylski is a former Sea Org member who used to be at CST but was busted and ended up as caretaker of the kids ranch (Happy Valley — see Jenna Miscavige’s book). Dan, I too love common sense tenants…. they are so much better than renters lacking in common sense.
Hey Dan, just a quick question: I have a religious belief that people who steal other people’s money under false pretenses, who break up families and who physically abuse people should be called out on it. Do you respect MY religious belief?
Thought not.
Tracy Lynn Ford says
I love how scientologists cry foul whenever their cult is criticized and couch it under the umbrella of “religious intolerance.” Yet I never seem to hear them cry foul when any other religions are criticized. The true test of defending religious intolerance is to come to the defense when it happens to religions other than your own. I don’t currently have HBO, but plan on subscribing so I can see this documentary. I can’t wait.

Caller: Hello HBO? I want to cancel my service.
HBO: Certainly. May I ask why you are canceling?
Caller: Because HBO is attacking my Church.
HBO: You have a Church?
Caller: No, I don’t have a Church but the Church to which I belong is being attacked.
HBO: Thank you. I understand and am happy to touch assist you. So can you give me your account number so I can get the process rolling?
Caller: Well I don’t technically have an account. I was definitely thinking of getting one someday, but until HBO apologizes I can’t imagine having an account. Wait, did you say “touch assist”?
HBO: I don’t know what you mean, but I am having trouble duplicating what you are saying.
Caller: I don’t want HBO to broadcast this show – I am very upset – and am using my would-be account to leverage this outcome.
HBO: I understand. We at HBO are concerned that you have become so enturbulated over our upcoming broadcast. Recall any earlier broadcasts that have created a similar response?
Caller: Well, uh I think if —
HBO: That, right there, what is that?
Caller: I was thinking about the time when you broadcast that profile of Bob Minton.
HBO: That wasn’t us, that was NBC, another channel.
Caller: OK.
HBO: Recall any earlier broadcasts that have created a similar response?
Caller: No.
HBO: Your needle is floating.
Caller: Wait, what? Are you auditing me?
HBO: I am not auditing you. Have you ever enslaved a planet? Just kidding.
Caller: That’s not funny.
HBO: OK, let’s move on then. In order for me to process your request to cancel the account you were hoping to have, I’m going to need a credit card number and charge you $250, but with your would-be subscriber discount it will only be $225.
Caller: What? I don’t have a credit card. And why do I have to pay you?
HBO: I understand. We can help you get a credit card, or do you have any other sources you might be able borrow some money from? Seriously, the eternity of premium cable programming is at stake here…now is not the time to let us down. Besides, if you pay the fee this week we will make you an HBO Patron Meritorius.
Caller: OK, I’ll do it. I guess I could borrow something from my mother. When do you need it by?
HBO: Wednesday afternoon would be the latest in order to make sure we process everything by Thursday at 2.
Caller: OK. But then you will cancel my would-be subscription in time for March 29?
HBO: Yes, not a problem. Is there anything you care to say or ask before I end the call?
Caller: No.
HBO: End of call. You may put down the phone.

Hi Gary Goldson,
I can’t cancel my subscription to HBO because I don’t have one. In fact I’m not even sure that my TV works because I haven’t turned it on for a couple of years. I’m kind of a dinosaur. It’s not because I’m a Scientologist. I’ve just always kind of been that way. I’ve never watched a lot of TV even as a child. So you don’t have to worry about me watching HBO. I just like to read stuff …like newspapers and books. Remember them? Mostly I read non-fiction. But I just finished reading a wonderful Love story which I would like to recommend to you. It’s called “Blown For Good” by Marc Headly.
Since you will no longer be watching your HBO, I would like to recommend it to you. It is a dramatic story with a beautiful ending. Read it and let me know what you think.

I am thinking that probably far more people have Netflix than HBO. Will Going Clear eventually be put on Netflix? That could attract a lot of additional viewers.
Tony DePhillips says
“That said, Netflix has a ways to go before catching up worldwide. HBO has 114 million subscribers across the globe, a far cry from the 7.14 million Netflix has outside the U.S. Netflix also added just over 1 million subs internationally in US., bringing its global total to over 36 million subs–more than 3 million than last quarter.”
It’s all good. 🙂

Yes, HBO will be in tears, after they see how much money they made by airing this documentary about Scientology. Heck, they might even start it in regular rotation, once or twice a day. Then we can route people on to it as step one on their “Decompression Full Hat”
Step one: Watch the “Going Clear” documentary.
Step two: Blow down at all of the right indications in the film.
Step three: PRACTICAL: Call all of your friends who you know are on the fence and discuss what they observed in the film. Exchange stories of how you’ve observed yourself or others violated in ways exposed in the film.
Step four: Leave the Cherch. You can do this quietly or publicly. Remember that you are rehabilitating your ability to make up your OWN mind.
Step five: Bring your friends out if they have decided that they don’t want to support this criminal behavior anymore. *Remember, friends don’t let friends stay stuck in a cult, if they don’t want to stay.*

With a lot of cable outfits HBO is part of a package, to cancel HBO the whole package has to be canceled. Somehow I don’t see that happening with a lot of these folks.
Aside from blowing smoke about ‘Going Clear’, I think the real reason they want people to cancel is so the FSM’s can press for it to be put into services or IAS “donations”.

When you look at it, this makes total sense. They know boycotts have worked before, and since they believe the 47x expansion stories, they are certain that a boycott will have an impact.
When the boycott has no impact, the pysches will get the blame, after all, it can’t be that there are too few Scientologists for HBO to notice the boycott.

Hey Scientologists, HBO is the WRONG TARGET. Quit kicking the cat cause you got a flat tire. HBO also shows Travolta and Cruise movies. Can’t have it both ways. They’re just the messenger, albeit a good message, but they’re just showing it. Anyone can choose to like or dislike it. You’re main problem right now is a PR problem. By attacking HBO you’re just making that worse. And please, I like cats, stop kicking them!

Oh NO! You don’t understand… Cary, Dan & Duane need an enemy to get through lowers, their recent event survey SS lacked sincerity and an attached check. The friendly FSO teenage Master at Arms (now there’s a contradiction in terms) said they need to find an enemy, he said COB insisted HBO was one along with anyone or anything else that wasn’t giving him money, that includes Gibney and anyone he’s ever talked to as well and then they’ll need to give them a golly good ‘blow’ where it hurts. They can’t buy their way out this time, they have run out money, all their credit cards are maxed – all twenty two of them, five mortgages, kids education fund is gone, they are all in the SO now anyway, insurance all cashed in and the banks won’t give them any more personal loans (no equity left) and they have nothing left to sell plus the only friends they have are as broke as they are and they have disconnected from everyone else they ever knew BUT they need to get onto the SRD! (again) It’s critical for their eternity. They see walls and chairs every day, they keep closing in, it’s so suffocating.
Please, please let us them have HBO as an enemy… just this once, mmmm… PLEASE… They are all members of the sanest and most ethical group on the planet and need to prove it to COB (again & again & again) just how committed to Clearing the planet they truly are. (If this doesn’t work, they’ll have to join the SO by following command intention. Do you see how critical this is!? mmm…?)

While you’re at it: You may also want to make sure to configure NetNanny (you know, that little program that the “church” urged you to put on your computer so that they could “nanny” you better) to include rottentomatoes, metacritic and all of those entheta places where infidels say positive things about the quality of this documentary. You may also want to impose a moratorium in your household on news programs on–come to think of it–well, just about ANY channel. Trips to the library, of course, haven’t been safe in years.
Just remind your family that wogs are evil–they’re puppets of the psych establishment Make sure to redirect your family activities to stay away from all of this madness. Take them to uplifiting places instead, such as your local Idle Morgue. Plenty of parking there…
Todd Cray says
The hypocrisy and dishonesty of this plea just amazes me (it shouldn’t as it is SOP). First off, the claim that “HBO aired a negative program” is false! Not yet, they haven’t!
If this guy WERE honest he’d admit that he is ranting against a program that he has not even seen yet. So HBO should apologize for a program they have not even aired yet, to a guy whose cult handlers forbid him from watching it in the first place. What kind of a victim is that?
If he WERE honest, he’d admit that he is not looking to hold HBO accountable for what they air but rather to restrain them from airing something Cary suspects he may not approve of. Why? Because it’s “against his religion!”
What he is trying to sell is that all you have to do is call “your thing” a religion; that will make you immune from any criticism and accountability. If the Mafia had only thought to call themselves a “Sicilian minority new religious movement,” Al Capone wouldn’t have ended up at Alcatraz. Surely, Manson could have pushed the cult angle a bit more. At that point, who are we to tell him anything?
Even more laughable is the claim that he does not “stand for religious discrimination.” For years, HBO has given a show to Bill Maher, a smug and self-serving buffoon who pokes sophomoric fun at “real” religions that he does not even seem to understand all that well. Where has Cary’s indignation been all these years? If his concern truly WERE with fairness toward religions in general, why did he wait so long for his outcry? (Remember Isaac Hayes?). Why didn’t he cancel his HBO back then?
Cary’s appeal is clearly directed at wogs only. Let’s face it, anybody in scn who can afford $20 a month for a premium channel would have been regged out of that money a long time ago anyway!

It will be interesting to see if Tom Cruise or John Travolta tries to do anything publicly about Going Clear on HBO. HBO has the contracts to show movies that both of them have done. The revenue is very important to the studios. Hell, HBO is showing Edge of Tomorrow and Oblivion right now.
Will either of them bite the hand that feeds them? Or will Miscavage just have them both do a series of sec checks to balance that out?

Interesting that the only two people agreeing with Cary already don’t subscribe to HBO. Way to preach to the choir, Cary! With the success of Going Clear in very limited release (I heard $20,000 per cinema) and general interest in the film thanks in no small part to Scientology’s footbullets inadvertently promoting the film for Alex Gibney and HBO, I’m sure there are far more people signing up for HBO just for this movie then cancelling. So I just kept quiet and continued reading him. He was brilliant on various points of living life and observing cultural things like the fact that Sen McCarthy lost his power once Eisenhower tired of his antics. Quite chilling, really. And as for the LA Times – they have the best entertainment section of any newspaper in the world, so my subscription was never in jeopardy.

For what little it’s worth, I’m going to subscribe to HBO Now specifically so I can watch ‘Going Clear.’ I don’t watch TV, and don’t have cable, but I want to see it badly enough (and know I’ll want to watch it more than once), so I’m signing up for a streaming service I didn’t even know or care about before.
I’m a never-in who always suspected the Co$ was a dodgy outfit. I started to pay attention back in 2008, when the Anonymous protests were going on, and I already knew about Lisa MacPherson (sp?) and the campaign against Paulette Cooper, but it wasn’t until I read Lawrence Wright’s book last year that I finally got a grasp on the big picture of what Scientology is, rather than just scattered bits here and there.
So I’m signing up, and will be watching, and I know of many other never-ins whose interest has been piqued–they’ll tune in to watch, too. HBO has nothing to fear from losing Scieno subscribers, and they know it.

Cary is a nice enough guy. Small time hustler who is a fervent believer in David Miscavige’s brilliance. His wife’s a pretty good hair dresser. Wonder if she still has her shop just down the street from Starbucks.
Cary is exactly the kind of follower that Miscavige needs. He never saw the HBO documentary but KNOWs that it’s a bigoted slam on HIS religion. No facts, no docs, no data. He just believes without question.
When I worked with him for a short time back in 2006, he was nowhere on the bridge, had never trained and only had a superficial knowledge of the tech. But he BELIEVED. He might even really believe that many scientologists have subscriptions to HBO and that his little message will have a devastating effect on the enemies of his beloved church.

thoughts in mind. The elephant won’t feel a thing and the ant thinks it is creating a enormous
effect.
I look for Scn management to come out and say….Okay we made some mistakes…we’re sorry….this is
what we are going to do to fix it……NOT!
Doug Owen says
For one thing, it’s no sacrifice to give up HBO when you already don’t subscribe, like Cary’s friends here. For another, I know people who have added HBO just so they could watch this documentary, and I’ll bet those outnumber the Scientologists who actually cancel.
threefeetback says
Evidence of the long anticipated ‘tipping point’.
zana says
I think those who have HBO to start with will secretly record it and watch it in the middle of the night when they are not “on course.” Hopefully they will…hopefully it will start waking them up out of their stupor.
JB says
Having personal knowledge of the hundreds of thousands of dollars of cutting edge entertainment A/V equipment that exists in all of DM’s offices and domiciles worldwide (Int base, Los Angeles, Clearwater, Saint Hill, Freewinds, etc.), and the vast number of cable accounts and services employed, and the staff dedicated and tasked with constantly networking, updating and recording every show, TV series, movie or sporting event that he could conceivably watch in the private hours he spends with Laurisse and a bottle of wine or Macallan Single Malt, I doubt that HIS HBO accounts will be cancelled.
McCarran says
Hmmmm. Very informative.
Just Some Guy says
For those outside the US and no HBO there are torrents. Although that does lessen any financial reward to the film makers.
zana says
Beware of the torrents…they can download malware into your computer. You will probably be able to see Going Clear on the HBO website after it airs. Check it out with HBO. Better to steer clear of viruses, etc.
Espiando says
I’ve been torrenting since BitTorrent came out (and been pirating for over thirty years). I’ve never contracted a virus. As long as you stick to a reputable torrent site, you’ll be fine. I’ll be getting Going Clear from a private torrent site that I belong to.

Re: Going Clear Documentary
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We’ve received a half dozen subscription withdrawals from Scientologists due to our expose of the Church. I informed the president of the network that should the number rise to a dozen by the 20th of March, we would be forced to pull the show. We are happy to announce that the total is 9, so we’re good to go.
Sincerely,
Amos Mossberger, Esquire
NOLAGirl says
Bahahahahahaha!!! When I renewed my HBO subscription, even the lady in customer service new about this documentary, was planning to watch it and told me they have had an increase in new subscriptions.
So please Cary, carry on with your “boycott”….it’s hilarious! You and Myles Binford can get together and cry over the bigotry and write angry letters to HBO. We will be partying our asses off. 😀
The lights are off, no one is home, and the property between their ears has gone into foreclosure.
Old Surfer Dude says
Nice! “…even the lady in customer service new about this documentary, was planning to watch it and told me they have had an increase in new subscriptions.” Way to go, cult members! PLEASE keep shooting yourselves in both feet! And stop saying “My Church!” Get a grip on reality and start saying, “My Cult!”
NOLAGirl says
Their hysterics are saving Gibney and HBO a fortune in advertising.
threefeetback says
HBO should be displaying these letters to rev up the buzz.
Old Surfer Dude says
You got that right, NOLAGirl! The cult, it turns out, is the best way to advertise Going Clear! If they had just ignored it, all of this hoopla wouldn’t be happening. But…Nooooooooooooooooooo. They just can’t help themselves. Load gun. Shoot self in foot. Repeat as needed. And…the more they whine (and they do whine a lot!), they more people will want to see this documentary. It’s a lose. lose situation for them.
hgc10 says
I love how both responses are from people who don’t have HBO to start with. I predict they will lose exactly zero subscriptions due to this. Though, it’s impossible to check, considering that they lose and gain subscribers every single month in numbers that probably dwarf the entire active membership of the church anyway.
Toot TO OT says
We called and ADDED HBO, have it on record.
There should be a “live as it airs” real-time blog to see and participate in a discussion.
I was there and experienced the CEO, uplines Sea Org Day (DM put a show on for the Attorney Earle Cooley) when I was promoted, building the sound studio (OSHA…OSHA WHO??), degraded treatment of fellow humans (I cannot remember the name of a SO Member man who was mentally and speech-wise
“slow” and the executives made fun of him because of it), CMO Int (Lisa Schroer, Janadair (such a pretty name if you asked me), Marcus Swanson (had to CSW to him to get approval to be married – he approved it), Bennet Parrish,Brooke Shakelton, Chris or Kris Kite (is he still around?), EPF, DPF (that’s gone now, right? only RPF or EPF), underage drinking, gold shoots – at gold and outside, hard labor, child endangerment, child work labor…RPF degrading…SIPRO, Flag, CMO Clearwater with Janet Light, Cheryl Decheff, Sigmar, Pilar, Peta, CMOInt jettison to Portland Crusade, out 2d (married men with minors)…my list is long.
And I was just a nobody worker.
Newcomer says
Chris Kite is in Sacramento on a steady diet of Kool Aide …… or at least was last I heard which was a few months ago. If he has an HBO subscription there may be some rattled cells (the brain variety) shaking out soon.
threefeetback says
Coop, If you want to rattle some of Rod’s cells, get him to recall the exact ‘item’ that caused him to go from the Flag EPF to the Flag DPF in record time (decided to route out) back in 1986. And of course, expose him to “Going Clear” (maybe a projector screen in the front yard with megaspeakers).
Newcomer says
threefeet,
Then he and Lori routed back in (in the early ninties after filing bankruptcy) and then routed back out again in 2006. Their son Adam and his wife Mira routed out in 2011 or so once the forced abortion issue was exposed. Mira got pregnant and they left.
I think I will open up a drive in theater on my lot next door to their house and run Going Clear: Mourning, Noon and Night!
zana says
It’s stunning that you had to ask permission of someone in order to get married. It’s from the Dark Ages.
When I was auditing it came up that my lover would bring a joint over with him and enjoy it. sometimes I would have a puff and enjoy him. I got hauled aside by someone in Co$ and told that not only could I NOT have one puff of his medical marijuana…that he could NOT smoke it even in my house…even though he had a license to do so. I was so shocked that they were imposing themselves in my bedroom that my jaw hung open. The person instructing me that he couldn’t do this said that it was “illegal.” Well, it wasn’t “illegal” because he had a license to use it. However, I was too shocked (and too dumbfounded) to argue any longer.
At that time I was still really longing to continue auditing and so I (stupidly) told my guy that the Church of Scientology said he could not smoke dope in my bedroom or even in my house. It was SOOOOoooo STUPID!! That was the beginning of the end of one of the most wonderful 10 year relationships of my life. I shake my head in disbelief.
SirRalliart says
I think I’ll subscribe to HBO this week. Come on, 11 more to go to meet the quota. Where’s the white board – I wanna write my name up there.
Annette Chaffee says
I’m going to subscribe to HBO for this documentary. I also just purchased the ebook and am reading it now on my ipad. Wow what a good read and an eye opener!
grandeclectus says
People un-subscribe in a huff all the time, for one silly reason or another. It’s normal.
HBO won’t be losing any sleep over it.
Endless eye rolls for all their ongoing, ineffectual nonsense.
zana says
I was watching a documentary online earlier today as part of research for a book I’m writing… about 20 minutes into it the Co$ advertisement to NOT watch Going Clear came up with the big black fist stolen from Pirate Bay torrents with film clips squishing out of its hand. Wow… Co$ is doing a great job of publicizing Gibney and HBO all over the place…and this was just a 52 minute documentary on how plants talk to each other. If I were some nerd who knew nothing about this stuff, I would be interested in watching it Going Clear this upcoming weekend. The ineptitude of the clams is totally unstoppable. Love it!
Maybe that’s a great title for the sequel to Going Clear – “The Ineptitude of the Clams.”
Robert Almblad says
The Secretes in Scientology were often intended to keep people in mystery and paying for the next level…. Even a beginning introduction like: “Stop your search. The answers have been found.” was a mystery sandwich that sent many people on a search into Scientology to find out what it is…
But, after the HBO exposé, there will be few secrets, save the people inside the cult that keep themselves in the dark for fear of not making it to their next “secret” level.
Like Frosty the Snowman, this organization is going to melt away after this fine spring day, March 29th.
The undeniable truth is that an organization that uses the darkness of secrets in its fundamental construction cannot survive in the light of truth that is available to all. Adios Miscavige and Cruise. You been spotted.
alice says
if they cancel hbo they’ll miss season 5 of game of thrones…..
marie guerin says
Good point , Alice. Too much entheta in the show anyways, it wakes up the dragons!
Saw the show at the Arclight last night in an almost full theater on second week end.
The rhythm of it is incredibly perfect, riveting.
phoenyxrose says
So, by their logic, any good Catholic, when faced with a story about priests molesting children, should not find out about the wrongs done in their church’s name, but ignore it all and never read that newspaper or watch that TV channel again.
I wonder how long it will take before these people take off their blinders and SEE.
McCarran says
Phoenyxrose, you are obviously a religious bigot.
Pedophilia should have been kept within the confined of the heirarchy of the Catholic Church. Catholicism does so much for mankind and the Pope does so much good and has expanded the churches and cathedrals 47X’s over the last year. If you are a Catholic, you should be excommunicated.
john johnson says
What tics me off most about Scientology is its blatant deception. Ideally if a wog walks into an org he/she should be told the truth up front. If wog/wogette wants to get to OTVIII it’s going to take 20/30 years and a million dollars (minimum). If the prospective Scientologist is not prepared to accept this they should be turned around and let out the door.
Old Surfer Dude says
I always thought the reason they kept OT III secret is that if prospective members actually read it they would be ROTFLTAO. After which they’d be walking out the door with all of the bank accounts, retirement accounts, children’s college fund accounts in tact.
Aquamarine says
Hey John Johnson, how about if an illegal PC WITH MONYEY walks in the door?
Let me tell you what or “policy” applies in THOSE instances: PT Barnum said it well. “Never give a sucker an even break”.
Of course, if the gullible raw meat illegal PC doesn’t have money, then standard org policy applies. I personally know an illegal PC with money who has been strung along for decades with promises and excuses, who spent a fortune on a Bridge that will never, ever be delivered, which CANNOT per LRH, be delivered.
Valerie says
I was unaware that Scientologists were now allowed to watch TV. I’m sure that if there are any Scientologists out there who both watch TV and can afford to subscribe to HBO, the net effect of them canceling will not be noticed compared to the tsunami of people who remain subscribed or chose “HBO Now” service to watch the movie.
Also, Cary doesn’t have HBO or he would probably know the program had not yet aired. I wonder what he did to get in a lower ethics condition. I’m glad he’s letting those UTRs who do have TV and HBO know about the must see anti Scientology program.
nomnom says
Public scientologists and non Sea Org staff can even though it’s frowned upon. Sea Org can’t.
Martin Padfield says
Public Scientologists must have a devil of a time trying to avoid all the entheta. The message should really read “cancel HBO subscription, and while you’re about it throw away the TV, don’t listen to the radio, go to the cinema or in fact interact with anyone (that isn’t at least an IAS Sponsor). Definitely don’t use the Internet except for a daily dose of the truth as contained in Freedom magasine. Avoid eye contact with WOGs too as bitter apostates are devious and dangerous and seem to be everywhere. Probably best to stay inside and just come to fundraisers and COB briefings.”
Aquamarine says
You said it, Martin P. And I’ll add “and don’t stand in line at the supermarket checkout counters – have your groceries delivered or order them online”.
At my local supermarket checkout was where at different times I first saw the TomCat divorce story, and the one about TC’s inurement. Both stories were plastered on the covers of those popular H’wood gossip rags that stare you in the face at the supermarket cash registers.
indie8million says
YES ! That’s exactly where I saw a lot of stuff too, Aquamarine. THAT’S why I’m saying that this is a PR WAR, not a war that we can win in court.
There is no way to trace what a Scientologist looks at with his/her eyes while they are waiting in line. Not yet anyway. So, if enough public know about what Miscavige is actually doing, there will be an uprising, not only from the Scientologists, but among the never ins who care about their family/friends in Scientology, and from the people who just don’t like people bullying and cheating and lying to others.
“WE DEMAND that Miscavige resign from the Corporation of Scientology.”
If you agree, please pass this simple idea of what we need and want on to other EX’s, other blogs and message boards and the media.
If we go in there with a clear statement of purpose, I believe we’ll get more help achieving that objective.
LRH definition of “REASONABLENESS” (one of my favorite definitions ever)
4.
an objective can always be achieved. Most
usually, when it is not being achieved, the
person is finding counter
-intention in the
environment which coincides with his own
(this is
reasonableness),
and his attention
becomes directed to his own counter-
intention rather than to his objective, i.e. he
has interiorized into
the situation. (FO 2116)

Soooo, what I’m saying is, let’s not let the world, media, general population, Scientologists (still in) or Scientologists (out) be REASONABLE about this. Miscavige is a virus in the machine which must be extracted, one way or the other. I would call him a vampire, sucking the lifeblood out of people, but he’s too short. Let’s call him a bed bug instead. And we know what we do with bugs.
AN OBJECTIVE CAN ALWAYS BE ACHIEVED.
WE DEMAND that David Miscavige resign from the Corporation of Scientology. Now.
Mike Rinder says
Not to rain on your parade — but if you think David Miscavige is going to resign because some anonymous, unnamed people ask him to, I have a Bridge to Freedom to sell you. He will be left with nothing when people no longer listen to him or trust him. Those people have to be reached. Think back to when you were in the bubble and if some anonymous person on the internet had been saying that Miscavige needs to resign what you would have thought. Sorry, but anonymous people, no matter how well intentioned, arent going to accomplish reaching people and getting them to open their minds. If anything, anonymity causes them to close up further and reject.
Michael Mallen says
I do believe Mr. Rinder speaketh sooth.
Zola says
I would wager that HBO will have more people subscribing to watch Going Clear, than Scientologists cancelling a subscription. Their delusion is very much in keeping with their arrogance.
Katniss says
I’ve actually considered getting cable just for Going Clear. I’ve been leaning towards the motel route but this might push me over the edge to subscribe.
Aquamarine says
So true, Zola. Arrogant and ignorant – a whoppingly bad combination.
Ms. G. says
Pffft. Good luck with that. Nobody is giving up Game of Thrones Season 5.
scnethics says
Exactly. Watching Game of Thrones can be one more thing for scientologists to feel guilty about, not talk to each other about, and to do ethics cycles over. Woo hoo – total freedom!
Rick Mycroft says
But now you can write Knowledge Reports on people who drop spoilers!

Joe says
What a bunch of paper thin tigers…they get a little agitation by the media or by a world wide story and begin howling like hyenas scavenging for a meal…you would think that if they fully duplicated the SP/PTS tech (it is twisted logic nowadays); they would understand that you can NEVER go the Effect of ANYONE or ANY Group if you haven’t transgressed against that person or group or violated your integrity because of that person or group. If your heart is clean who gives a damn as to what people or anyone says about you….
The documentary is exposing finally on a world wide platform the groups (aka fundamentalists) criminal, financial and moral transgressions on some many fronts its not funny….and these paper thin tigers (aka rats) who are guilty by their association and subscription with these fundamentalist wankers have their “dirty hands” in the cookie jar and begin their predictable rant!!!!!…

Wow. NAILED IT!
Shamanarts says
I wonder how many “new” subscribers, like myself that HBO is adding, just to see this film?
WOG3232 says
I recently subscribed to HBO. I won’t lie, “Going Clear” was not the ONLY reason I subscribed, but I can tell you that it was the thing that finally pushed me to get it. I’m a “never in” but this cult has impacted my life in a very profound (bad) way. Hopefully the person I was with manages to see this, somehow, someway and open her eyes. That is my wish for her.

When you get out, there are many of us here who will help you find your way back. You used to have heart. It’s time you came to reclaim it.

Dan Przybylski, boy I wish he and Tony (his spouse) would unwind their minds out of their situation.

Lora M says
I am a Christian. If I cancelled/disconnected/disassociated from every critical voice…I’d be as lonely and poorly informed as a Scientologist.
Brian says
This fear and demonization of criticism and all of it’s media attention finds its roots in source: L Ron Hubbard
Ron was an intellectual coward. Instead of meeting criticism head on with courage and reasoned debate, he hypnotized his disciples into hating critics and making them evil.
All Scientology behavior, good or bad, can find its source in Scientology doctrines.
And all doctrines were written by Ron.

Well these morons might want to get a message out to Tom Cruise; it seems an inordinate amount of his films appear each month on HBO. There are five movies listed this month with him. Most of them I haven’t even heard of and won’t bother watching. But still, the royalties paid by HBO to TC on these dogs must contribue in some way to Miscavige’s vision of planetary clearing and salvation.

I have been hearing this phrase “My church” lately. I was not used any time in the past that I remember. It appears that this phrase is being flowed down from the high command. It is a new identification.
According to Scientology any identification leads to lesser freedom. And this is what is happening in the Church of Scientology. It is a “hunkered down” posture and mentatlity.
hgc10 says
It has a familiar ring. Didn’t Tommy Davis rant about bigotry toward “my church” whenever someone questioned him about OT3, or anything else?

When these idiots cancel they’ll have to send letters so that HBO gets properly “impacted”. And you can believe that even if the Koolaid guzzlers who don’t have HBO willbe ordered to write their own letters about how they were thinking of ordering HBO but now, in light of this egregious insult to their church there’s no way, and yada yada yada.
This just too fabulously funny and you’ve made my day with your pithy observations and witty comments, Mike.
