There seem to be some photos missing of the actual surf legends. And the "endorsement" that after being handed a copy of Dianetics, legend Rob Machado "commented" that he is interested in mental health. Wow. That is some really weak sauce. He is probably "psych-influenced" and thus PTS and ineligible for Dianetics.... Dale Dobson apparently had nothing to offer. But there is so much else weird about this. No idea if this is sponsored by the South Coast "ideal" Mission or Orange County "ideal" org. Apparently they don’t want anyone to know who they really are. They d … [Read more...]
Dianetics Didn’t Fix Her Eyesight?
Here is another one of the scientology "press releases"-- note where it was picked up. Even more obscure than the last one which was in a small paper in Richmond, Kentucky. No scientology org in Malaysia at all. This concerns one of the people featured on ScientologyTV "Meet a Scientologist" "series" -- a Hungarian hot air balloonist. The release begins by explaining "Dalma Császár overcame a vision impairment to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional hot air balloon pilot." Of course, you would think the next line would be how Dianetics cured her. Hubbard e … [Read more...]
The Great New Era Webinar and How Scientology Fakes “Good News”
New Era, which seems to have taken on a new role as sort of the "continental org" for Europe trying to sell scientology to new public, held a "Dissemination Webinar" and we were sent some screen shots from an attendee that provide some interesting insights. The lineup was a "who's who" of scientology FSM hucksters. Arte Maren, Rafferty Pendery, Michael Chan, Andrea D'Agostini, Pier Paderni. Here is the "good news" (featuring not recently seen nor heard from Joy Villa) -- with the typically vague "hundreds of thousands of people introduced to … [Read more...]
Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health
On this day in 1950, "Book One" was published. It seems an appropriate day to remember some of the claims Hubbard made in his lengthy explanation of his "discoveries" that had been thoroughly tested... Let's start with the most infamous: Clears of course DO get colds. They also get cancer, suffer heart attacks, strokes, pancreatitis and all sorts of other ailments. But this statement is still in the current edition of book. As for the 270 cases, this is of course also a total fabrication. Obviously. No "laboratory fact" confirms this lie because it is provably false. … [Read more...]
Scientology Deaths and Suicides
People are asking for our thoughts regarding recent tragic events. We can only offer facts about scientology teachings and our opinions on them -- we don’t have firsthand information concerning the details of Kelly Preston or Benjamin Keough’s deaths, though, when it comes to scientology and scientologists, there are other factors that come into play - factors that are contained in the “scripture” of scientology that give a particularly dark tint to these terribly sad events. The heartbreakingly unfortunate truth is people commit suicide every single day, and people die of breast cancer ever … [Read more...]
The “Reactive Mind”
L. Ron Hubbard came up with a theory that he explained at great length in his book Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health. He presented is as scientifically proven fact, which it was not. Scientology to this day STILL claims that scientology is where science meets religion -- and the most fundamental "science" is the so called "discovery" of the Reactive Mind. Hubbard describes the Reactive Mind this way (this is taken from the "Technical Dictionary" and is the first definition): REACTIVE MIND, 1. a portion of a person's mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis, … [Read more...]
Dianetics Dissembling
This is promotion for the now completed Dianetics celebration. This used to be a big deal event in scientology. It is now a whimper that gets little attention because it interferes with Miscavige's annual scuba diving expedition on the Freewinds for "Maiden Voyage." Now, there are plenty of lies in this pitch -- one cannot attain Clear from reading Dianetics. In fact, over 60 years it has been proven the state of Clear as described in Dianetics is a pipe dream that even L. Ron Hubbard himself could not achieve. But nevertheless, they're still selling Dianetics hard as the solution … [Read more...]
