Every year, scientology rolls out the posters about how the US Government is making it especially easy to give more money to scientology. Unfortunately, this is one of the only true things they ever say. And one of the most galling. The entire US Government is certainly not on the side of scientology. There are many government agencies that do not agree with scientology even being recognized as a tax exempt religious organization, but unfortunately, the most important one, the IRS, seems to be in the minority. Though truth be told, I suspect there are plenty of people in the IRS who … [Read more...]
Raffle Mania
Despite the Hubbard policy forbidding this, apparently the desperation for money overcomes all restraints. Though, as CCHR delivers no "services" I supposed they have somewhat of an excuse. But where is the IAS? The IAS repeatedly uses the fact they support CCHR, and announces their "wins" as a reason people should give money to the IAS to "eradicate psychiatry." It is a mainstay of the IAS mantra. So, how come CCHR has to hold raffles to raise money? Of course, the next question to ask about this -- are they fighting for the kids IN SCIENTOLOGY who are being abused? That is of … [Read more...]
Money, money, money
I received this email recently, and the person was happy to have me publish it. This adds to the existing mountain of evidence of scientology worship of money and that they will do literally anything to get it. Dear Mike: Congratulations—the Fair Game podcast is great, as is your blog. On Sunday, Oct. 25, I received a stunned call from a pal who has a mammoth amount of Church of Scientology card debt, something like 17 different credit cards, plus refinancing of his vehicle, along with a second mortgage on his home. His mother co-signed for one or both these loans. This gentleman is a sol … [Read more...]
What Is Needed?
What is needed? You don't need to tune in to get an answer to this question. It is IAS Anniversary event month and there is no IAS event. They are scrambling... Money, money, money is what is needed. It’s the only thing that is ever needed. “We need to keep our 4th dynamic campaigns going that are helping billions of people every week... blah blah blah” Hubbard laid it out: MAKE MONEY. MAKE MORE MONEY. MAKE OTHER PEOPLE PRODUCE SO AS TO MAKE MONEY. Scientology is exclusively about money. If an activity does not generate income it dies a very fast death in the scientology bubbl … [Read more...]
BIG BIG BIG **** BIG BIG BIG **** NEWS!!!!!!!!
Surely, the ALL CAPS, asterisks, exclamation points and misspelled word signifies the announcement that the planet has been cleared? At least ideal Southern California? Or even just The Valley? After all, the magnitude of this news is no exageration [sic]... Alas, the 6X big news is that you can win and be awarded by handing us your money. Woohoo. What a thrill. You hand over the cash and we will not only "award" you, we will tell you that your money is worth twice as much, so you can be twice as proud! You get a $20,000 certificate and you only have to give us $10,000. Who could … [Read more...]
The Largest Virtual Event in History
Well, you may not "love" it.... But it is happening today and according to them it is not only huge -- bigger than the Oscars, the Emmy's or any other virtual event -- boy is it exciting. You get to hand over more cash for the 8 orgs that have STILL not gotten their new empty building open, nearly 20 years after this ridiculous "ideal org" program began. There's not a drop of hype to be found anywhere. If you want to see what you are missing out on, here it is: You really have to wonder if these people ever stop to think about what they are doing? They have had an "ideal … [Read more...]
All-American Hero
This guy is an "icon" and "all-American hero" because he has given some of his ill-earned cash to ideal org campaigns, but more so because he has persuaded others to part with their money. Who can forget his wacked out video on Tony Ortega's site: "You're going to pay this money fucking eventually"? It is an interesting microcosm of the crazy world of scientology that this is what is lauded. He is a hero figure for scientology. The ONLY criteria for being a hero, humanitarian, icon, champion or any other title you can think of is giving money. While Hubbard said it was the "lowest … [Read more...]
Why Albuquerque?
That is a question for which there are a few answers, but none of them are "this city wants scientology." The first answer is "COB wants it" -- so therefore it must be done. Scientology is no longer the kingdom of L. Ron Hubbard. Everyone knows you can't say that these building boondoggles are "what LRH wants". But that does not matter any more. After all, it's been Miscavige in charge of scientology for longer than Hubbard ran the show at this point. The second is "we always need new reasons to hand over cash, after all, that's what scientology is all about." Number 3 -- "It's Sea … [Read more...]
Money, Money, Money — the Scientology Mantra
You have to hand it to Michael Lewis. At least he doesn't try to cover up by calling it "expansion" or "prosperity" or "getting at cause." He just comes right out and announces it is all about money. The Scrooge McDuck image I guess is how he sees the successful person in scientology. Someone with enough money to be able to afford it (which is accurate) -- or else it's an artist's rendition of David Miscavige doing what he loves most. He idiotically claims that he "thought people had somehow outgrown this subject." If you are a scientologist, it is impossible to "outgrow" this subject as … [Read more...]
Michael Chan Is Not Aging (Or Sleeping)
This is a recent email from Dave Kushin who we have been hearing a lot from recently. For some reason (actually, it's for financial reasons - somehow he is making something out of this) he is promoting a seminar from the Chan Man. According to this promotion, this is about "aging" and how Mr. Chan only sleeps 2 hours a night and never has a bad day even though he is 60. The implication is that he has found, within the "tech" the answers to aging and not sleeping. Nobody else seems to have figured this out, yet they all have the same "tech" as Chan Man does. I guess he is just smarter … [Read more...]
