Below is a recent email from one of the unfortunate SO members in PAC. The delusion is amazing -- promoting an entirely new era of EXPANSION and WINS at a whole new order of magnitude. And for this reason, they are re-showing the 1993 IAS event. That makes a lot of sense. The real reason the "War Is Over" event is being re-shown is because Miscavige believes it shores up his reputation with scientologists. In his mind, this is his finest hour. It shows him in the best light and confirms for all the sheeple that they can thank him, and him alone, for the survival of scientology and the … [Read more...]
The Life of L. Ron Hubbard
This is a fascinating insight into the world inside the scientology bubble. This image was posted to a scientology message board on FaceBook. Shortly after this screenshot was taken, the group's admin asked that it be taken down as it didn't have "Issue Authority." Despite all the LRH biography briefings, websites, press releases and books in today's official scientology scripture there is no mention whatsoever anywhere that L. Ron Hubbard even had a wife (or 3) or any children. One of the reasons the Briefing Course is no longer available is that the lectures have not b … [Read more...]
Auditing: a PC’s Quest for the Holy Grail
Next in the ongoing series of essays by Terra Cognita. See earlier posts here: The Knowledge Report, Integrity, The Almighty Stat, The Reg, The Horrors of Wordclearing, Why Scientologists Don't FSM, Respect, The Survival Rundown - The Latest Scam, Communication in Scientology... Or Not, Am I Still A Thetan?, To Be Or Not To Be, An Evaluation of Scientology, Fear: That Which Drives Scientology and Justification and Rationalization. Auditing: a PC’s Quest for the Holy Grail I don’t have the perseverance to cover the whole topic of auditing. But here are a few thoughts. Auditing is Scie … [Read more...]
The Denver Idealish Org Fail
Here is an interesting item sent in by a special correspondent. One of our favorite "ideal" orgs is the Colorado Rockies overflow parking lot in Denver. They continue to hold regular IAS "briefings" there, though it is a wonder they can cover the airfare it costs to get there. It is touted by Miscavige and his PR minions as one of the "50 ideal orgs that PROVE the massive international expansion of scientology under the brilliant leadership of Mr. David Miscavige." Everyone inside the bubble is pretending this (and all the rest of idealish orgs) is a functioning, ongoing, … [Read more...]
Scientology and North Korea
On a number of previous occasions I have commented on the parallels between the scientology world and North Korea. From empty showcase buildings to the unwarranted adulation of their current leader Kim Jong-un to the bizarre stories of the life and accomplishments of the Godlike founder of the DPRK, Kim Il-sung. But this BBC News story came across my newsfeed and once again the similarities were eery. A prominent North Korean diplomat defected. The response reads like the things scientology puts out about me and anyone else who has escaped from its bubble. He was of co … [Read more...]
Integrity
Another installment in the ongoing series of essays by Terra Cognita. See earlier posts here: The Almighty Stat, The Reg, The Horrors of Wordclearing, Why Scientologists Don't FSM, Respect, The Survival Rundown - The Latest Scam, Communication in Scientology... Or Not, Am I Still A Thetan?, To Be Or Not To Be, An Evaluation of Scientology, Fear: That Which Drives Scientology and Justification and Rationalization. Integrity One of the most bandied about words in Scientology is “integrity.” LRH wrote, “What is true for you is what you have observed yourself. And when you lose that, you h … [Read more...]
Maiden Voyage Event 2
Next in the series of 2016 MV Event coverage. Really there is nothing worth saying about this. Somehow they keep coming up with new "accomplishments" for L. Ron Hubbard. Now he created the "space race" to distract from the nuclear arms race (except it didn't). Wonder when they are going to cover the biography section "Ron's family life and accomplishments" - they could do a nice Ron Mag on that subject. Not of course covering what he told everyone else to do, but detailing HIS family life. There is a lot of fascinating material to cover. … [Read more...]
More Thoughts on FSMing
Our friend Andy Porter submitted this as a comment in response to Terra Cognita's recent posting: Why Scientologists Don't FSM. I felt it deserved to be a posting to supplement the thoughts expressed in that post. I worked at the Bellevue Mission and was in the Mission Network for many years. One thing I would constantly hear was that it was MUCH easier to bring new people into a Mission, rather than a Class 5 Org because the new people were handled “better” in the Mission, meaning that they were not harassed as much as they were in an Org. Another thing that I observed over and over was … [Read more...]
The Path
I posted about this on Facebook, but think it is important enough to reiterate here. I just finished watching the last episode of season one of The Path on Hulu. This is a very well scripted, acted, shot, edited and scored series. But more importantly, it is the best portrayal I have ever seen of the prison of the mind that entraps those in cults. It is extremely difficult to understand why people remain in a cult for anyone who has not experienced it themselves. This show portrays it accurately - the torment and anguish that those with doubts go through, the threat of losing loved ones, … [Read more...]
Old St Hill On Life Support
Things are not too rosy at old St Hill. Their new Auditor mag clearly demonstrates how pathetic St Hill is -- and this is what ALL ORGS are striving to be like! Of course, they no longer have a Briefing Course to deliver - the original PURPOSE of the organization. But without having to devote resources to delivering the BC, one would imagine they would be doing a bang-up job of making up for that with everything else... Not so much. No wonder a new "Command Team" of Flag trained nobodies was sent to replace John Danilovich. This place is disappearing faster than a snowball in the … [Read more...]
