The latest internet smear on me is a video from a person (Hans Smith) who claims I punched him. That may be true, though I don't recall it and I had little interaction with him. But I have admitted (and so have many others) to punching people when in the Sea Org. At the top of scientology, if you were NOT willing to use physical violence you were considered too weak to hold your post. There are numerous witnesses who can testify to the culture of violence at the top of scientology, many of whom watched David Miscavige dishing out beatings on an assortment of senior scientology officials. … [Read more...]
Body Death
From our friend Brian Lambert, another in his series of essays about the Tone Scale. These affirmations are the true representation of L Ron Hubbard. These affirmations are who he was - hidden behind the hypno-manipulation of his marketed messiahship. Wrapping up my analysis of the Tone Scale I cannot get past the thought that L. Ron Hubbard’s tone scale is his delivery system for manipulating “meanings and melodies” of words. He states it in the affirmations as a goal. And what is the tone scale in essence? It’s all simple words given a value, by numbers, which alter their “melodies” ac … [Read more...]
More on Scientology Fair Game: Black Propaganda
I have written a number of articles concerning the scientology’s Fair Game doctrine and practice. L. Ron Hubbard proclaimed those designated as "enemies" of scientology should be destroyed. It is a literal admonition to lie, trick, frame, smear, harass anyone scientology does not like. In scientology, the words of L. Ron Hubbard are the words of God -- they are to be taken literally and it is deemed a "crime" in scientology to alter, deviate from or seek to interpret his words. They are not seen as parables, allegories or things to be interpreted, they are to be followed to the letter, w … [Read more...]
Accountable
Another in the series of essays about the Tone Scale from our old friend Brian Lambert. “Your authority over words is absolute. You are grandmaster of words and can do with them as you will. You know what they mean to others. You know how their meanings and melodies affect others” “You use the minds of men” - from L Ron Hubbard’s Affirmations. Making an affirmation is an unquestionable revealing of personal values. It’s a statement of affirming to attain a desired state or increase it. Please keep these affirmations in mind when reading this article or my other essays on the to … [Read more...]
Grief
Another essay from our old friend Brian Lambert about the writings of L. Ron Hubbard. “You are grandmaster of words and can do with them as you will. You know what they mean to others. You know how their meanings and melodies affect others” - from L Ron Hubbard’s Affirmations. Grief In my past experience with studying Scientology, I noticed some sane human traits being definitionally degraded by some of Ron’s doctrines. And as these redefinitions became part of my personality, I found one of the casualties to be.................grief. It’s hard enough sometimes for us men … [Read more...]
How Scientology Views Law Enforcement
In the final chapter of Introduction to Scientology Ethics, L. Ron Hubbard distills a lot of his thoughts on the subject of Law Enforcement, the Judiciary and the handling of justice in society. There are many other places where he says similar things -- some of the confidential advices and OSA issues are even more explicit, calling FBI agents "cockroaches" among other things. Hubbard's fear of the government, FBI, law enforcement, DOJ, IRS etc being after him is apparent starting in the early 50's and descended into complete paranoia by the end of his life. Realize this passage is from a … [Read more...]
Scientology Lies About LGBTQ
Someone sent this Instagram post to me recently. It is the perfect example of scientology saying one thing publicly to be “acceptable” (Hubbard called this an “acceptable truth”) and what they actually believe and practice. As you may have noticed, they also make a big deal about celebrating Christmas but do not believe in Christ. They also claim you can be a scientologist and any other religion but that is a lie that was disproven when asked about it by the IRS and admitted it was not true (it’s an indicia of a real religion that it’s a single faith - you are not both Catholic and Protestant, … [Read more...]
Janis Gillham-Grady
One of my oldest and dearest friends, Janis appeared on The Aftermath last week to help shed light on the life and disappearance of Shelly Miscavige. Her fantastic, almost photographic memory is a treasure that should not be taken for granted. And she has put her gift to excellent use in the two books she has published so far chronicling her life which also serve as the definitive history of the Sea Organization. If you want to know what life was like with L. Ron Hubbard in the formative years of the Sea Org, the first two volumes of Janis' story are the only place to go. Her extensive … [Read more...]
Thoughts on the Tone Scale
Frequent commenter Brian Thomas Lambert put together some thoughts about the Tone Scale and forwarded them to me. I asked him to write an introduction to himself: I’ve been blogging for a few years now. I started Scientology in 1971. The Incredible Stringband, an all Scientology music group, influenced my joining as I was a fan. I ended up marrying one of the ladies in the group named Likky. How the church treated her with callous abuse while she was going crazy on OT3x was instrumental in my leaving in 82. I was a Sea Org member at FOLOEUS, started at the Geltman mission in NYC with Chick Co … [Read more...]
Tis the Season
Our old friend Terra has some timely thoughts to share... Tis the Season L. Ron Hubbard hating giving anything away for free and insisted on charging a hefty price for most all things connected with Scientology. He preached that people didn’t value goods and services that were given freely. Anything worth having was worth paying for. Paying for something meant it was valuable. Given freely, it was not. This philosophy has hardened the hearts of countless Scientologists, driving many toward the level of “No Sympathy” on his infamous Tone Scale. The typical church member has little compa … [Read more...]
