THIS IS IMPORTANT Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath is reaching far and wide. As a result, there are a lot of people coming forward with their own stories of abuse in the church. We set up an email for people to report things ([email protected]) and soon hope to have a website (if I can find the time to put it together). But there is one thing that has come up repeatedly that I wanted to comment on publicly. The supposed "confidentiality agreements" many have signed. Though this mostly applies to those signed by Sea Org members, most staff and many public have also … [Read more...]
Scientology Aftermath Episode 3 Aftermath
The next show has now aired, and now it's on to Episode 4. And perhaps some other goodies to come too. As always, I am interested in your views - including criticisms and things you think might be better explained or covered. I also suspect there are quite a number of new people who are coming to this blog for the first time. To all of you, welcome. I thought you might find it instructive to be directed to some earlier postings I have done that may help explain some things if you just watched the show or are curious about the bizarre scientology statements about Leah, me or anyone who … [Read more...]
Scn Aftermath Episode 2: Scientology Sort Of Responds
Hurricane Leah continues to roll, blowing aside the scientology house of cards in its path. Their denials and ridiculous responses are becoming lamer and less believable by the day. Their latest effort now takes issue with the fact they harass people. Everything they do is dictated by the L. Ron Hubbard Playbook for dealing with critics. But interestingly, more and more media are following Leah's lead of treating the scientology responses with tongue-in-cheek mockery. Here is a short excerpt from E!News: In Tuesday night's all-new Leah Remini: Scientology and the … [Read more...]
Scientology Aftermath Episode 2 Aftermath
The show has aired, my laundry has been hung out for all to see, and now it's on to Episode 3. As always, I am interested in your views - including criticisms and things you think might be better explained or covered (and I will try not to respond to everything with "it's in a later episode.") I also suspect there are quite a number of new people who are coming to this blog for the first time. To all of you, welcome. I thought you might find it instructive to be directed to some earlier postings I have done that may help explain some things if you just watched the show … [Read more...]
Scientology Dead Agents* Itself
To the surprise of absolutely nobody, scientology wasted no time rolling out a whole new website of smear after the premiere of Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath. Because of this, Thursday Funnies have taken a one week hiatus while I comment on this latest development from the fevered mind of Miscavige. Cleverly (?) titled Aftermath: After Money (no doubt Miscavige got a kick out of that, probably thought it up himself, laughed at his own cleverness and his sycophants all laughed along with him) it announces in its headline what has come to be the hallmark of scientology's "Dead … [Read more...]
Scientology The Aftermath
The first show has aired. Phew. 7 more to come. I am interested to hear what you thought -- including criticisms or things you felt could or should have been explained more/better or treated differently. The perspective of others is valuable feedback. I am genuinely curious, not just looking for ego stroking. … [Read more...]
Panic as Hurricane Leah Approaches
As the time for the first episode of Leah Remini's new show draws near, you can see the panic inside the bubble seeping out into the real world. OSA has put their shills to work, spreading "good news". Unfortunately they don't have anything better than an old court case in Belgium from March. They plastered this everywhere at the time as if it was a massive "victory for religious freedom" - in fact it was a repudiation of prosecutorial incompetence. Now they are dusting off this old news and sending it out again. You may wonder what they think this will accomplish? It's POLICY. Fill the … [Read more...]
Hurricane Leah Rolls On
This is from the 21 December issue of People magazine feature 25 most intriguing people of the year. The text is a little fuzzy, here is what it says: The actress revealed why she left the Church of Scientology in her book Troublemaker detailing why she questioned the bahvior of church officials and became disillusioned with fellow follower Tom Cruise. Remini, 45, told People leaving was "like a rebirth,,, I've been given a second chance at life." Here is the cover, lead page of the article and the full page where her piece appears (along with Adele). … [Read more...]
A Shoop Is Worth 1000 Words
Sent to me by a Special Correspondent last night. Nothing further need be said. And no sooner had I posted this than I saw this from Marc Headley on Twitter. Seems to be a trend... UPDATE: Here is another one. Access Hollywood interview with Leah. 43,905 views. And who is PAYING to place their ad to try and take advantage of Leah's prominence? It's always a little satisfying when liars are caught lying! And just because.... And finally... … [Read more...]
Hurricane Leah
Hurricane Leah is blowing Miscavige's house down. It is stunning that her book jumped immediately to the TOP of the NY Times Bestseller list. Scientology will likely tell their sheeple it is a reflection of the public "demand" for what they have to offer. It's an old refrain. "Any publicity is good publicity." "Just as long as you spell our name right." Blah blah blah. Reminiscent of Monty Python's black knight proclaiming "it's just a flesh wound" when his arms have been chopped off and "we'll call it a draw" when his legs are gone too. In truth it is a reflection of the public's … [Read more...]
