This is a post from Mike Westen at his blog. He sent it to me and I thought it was a great piece so I am reprinting it here. A recently leaked church document highlights Scientology’s hypocrisy with regards its anti-psychiatry activism. On Saturday, Tony Ortega published a 1993 investment summary listing the church’s assets in bonds, equities and cash. Amongst the numerous shares listed were two pharmaceutical companies: Ciba Geigy and Pfizer. As of 1993, Ciba Geigy was the Swiss manufacturer of the stimulant drug Ritalin (methylphenidate) and the antipsychotic Clozaril (clozapine). Ci … [Read more...]
Irony? They’ve Never Heard The Word
The anti-psych brigade, with Ken Cramer driving the clown car, are at it again. Change the sign in his cartoon below from psychiatrist to scientologist and it would be a far more accurate depiction. While psychiatrists may charge fees for their services, scientology is obsessed with getting people's money. There are sales courses and finding ruins and bringing up to need of change and Big League Sales and of course, MAKE MONEY. MAKE MORE MONEY. I don't think you could find a psychiatric text on how to go about getting money from people, but there are volumes of them in … [Read more...]
Ken Cramer — Joker and Degrader
Ken Cramer apparently thinks he is really cool. So proud of himself that he sent this out as an email to his "supporters" to prove how causative he is over psychs and their new "attack method" -- being polite! Someone with his cult mindset can turn ANYTHING into an "attack" by "the psychs." Honestly, Cramer is such a smarmy 1.1 Joker and Degrader he gives scientologists a bad name. And that's not an easy task. He's the driver of a broken down clown car of fools and he seems to think he is cruising down the autobahn at 200 mph behind the wheel of a Bugatti. But that being said, I … [Read more...]
The Wacky “Anti-” Psych
CCHR peddles some pretty outrageous claims about psychiatry But their "Psych Search" guy, Ken Kramer, is a source of wacky that even CCHR must cringe about. Here's some random stuff that showed up all on one day, starting with his clever play on "MAGA" and "Trump" : Then he has another brainstorm... Trying to manipulate Google? Hahahaha. This is the flea climbing the leg of the elephant shouting "get ready, here I come." I guess one could do exactly the same thing with respect to scientology... But I think Google searches on scientology pretty much come up with negative … [Read more...]
The “Scare-Mongering” of CCHR
It is always entertaining to read the propaganda sent out by CCHR accusing psychiatry of "scare-mongering." Anyone familiar with CCHR (and scientology in general) is aware that their reason for existing is to "scare-monger" about psychology and psychiatry. How scary is it that they are saying they need to be prepared for a spike in demand as a result of the pandemic? You bet scientology briefings to solicit “donations” are talking about the trauma and “restimulation” of people who all need help and that orgs should be getting them in.... And a "racism pandemic"? How dare they say that? … [Read more...]
CCHR “Taking Down Psychiatry”
This is the sort of thing that is announced with enormous fanfare by the IAS with "this is what your donations buy". When something like this is found, CCHR jumps on it and claims it as a "psych prosecution" and not only that, it is "President of the Alaska Psychiatric Association." It will be added to other incidents they can scrounge up from anywhere they can find them and become part of a typical announcement in the category of "CCHR Wins" -- “this year more psychs were prosecuted than ever, a total of 1,047, thanks to the leadership of CCHR" and then at the end "You contributions to the … [Read more...]
CCHR Uses the NAACP
This was sent to me by long term contributor Clearly Not Clear, with an introduction. I don't think anything further need be said... Do you think the NAACP is aware that the church's CCHR outreach of conspiracy, is claiming a relationship with them? I wonder how long it took some flunky to comb the human rights websites, to come up with the statistics that they came up with, to populate this transparently topical plea for bucks. Or did they make some of this up for sensationalism? The psych part especially. Whether the stats are false or true, I find their grouping of all the stats about … [Read more...]
CCHR Hysteria
Snark of the day. This was the commentary that accompanied this piece from CCHR (Citizen's Commision on Human Rights) that had been sent to one of our faithful readers. Unfortunately, the bad news is, that unpaid and underpaid CCHR workers are tirelessly bombarding legitimate news, newsletter, and aggregating websites, and pseudo-news outlets, with their 'facts' which they don't fact check, at all. These overworked and understaffed decision-makers are just looking for interesting topics to publish in these COVID-19 times. CCHR's massive spewing out of their bullshit articles are clearly … [Read more...]
Secret CCHR Briefing
CCHR has gone "stealth" to reveal the REAL story that psychiatry is behind the pandemic... Not sure why they would not want everyone in the world to hear their vital message? Maybe it's such garbage they are afraid they will be laughed at? Only the already brainwashed will accept the drivel they dish up. You can bet there will be a heavy pitch for money. Every "briefing" in scientology is an attempt to get money for one thing or another. At the same time this pitch is happening, you know the IAS is sucking money out of people for exactly the same thing. … [Read more...]
Codependence in the Bubble
From long time commenter Clearly Not Clear. Codependence in the Bubble Being in a cult like scientology, is like being in a codependent relationship. I thought codependence had to do with living with an alcoholic or a drug addict. Evidently it can be more subtle. Here’s an internet definition: “Excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a partner, typically one who requires support on account of an illness or addiction.” – Google answer Let’s try that on with scientology - “Excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a cult like scientology, typically one who requ … [Read more...]
