The Guardian ran a piece about the UK protest at St Hill coinciding with the IAS event. This was also picked up by Newsweek. This is clearly not good news for the COB and scientology. The piece not only talks about the protest but brings up the lawsuits Miscavige is named in as well as the Danny Masterson conviction. Scientology responded in oh-so typical fashion -- they are the victims being harassed and the "Apostate Alex" is a nobody they have never heard of... Scientology told the Guardian the UK protest was harassment “orchestrated by an anti-Scientologist who e … [Read more...]
More Scientology Hypocrisy
Yet again, the OSA trolls expose themselves and the Hubbard way. One of the recently more active in bots stable, "Lory Guy" came out swinging with an "applicable LRH quote." Scientology frequently claims their freedom of speech is being denied because people are "telling lies about them." In fact, they are spinning some of the tallest tales imaginable, repeating accusations that are completely disproven, in an effort to follow Hubbard's policy of muzzling/destroying their denominated enemies (anyone who says things they don' t like). Just one egregious example: they routinely state Leah a … [Read more...]
Scientology’s Silence on Danny Masterson is Deafening
Scientology has constantly attacked Leah and I for testifying in the Paul Haggis civil case where he was accused of raping a woman. The plaintiff never reported it to law enforcement, instead sending a demand for payment in exchange for her silence. Paul was the one who reported this to law enforcement and was told there was nothing they could do about it. The jury didn't know all of this as it was precluded from the case. Leah and I testified about our knowledge of scientology's Fair Game tactics (including how other people like Paulette Cooper and Gabe Cazares had been framed for crimes … [Read more...]
Scientology Lies Responding to 60 Minutes Australia
If by chance you have not seen this piece on 60 Minutes Australia from last Sunday, I commend you to do so... The Australian media pull no punches, and this is one carries on the tradition. In the introduction alone they talk about scientology's "mob-style operations" and how it is "bullying" and "belligerent." On their website (they don't include any of the response in the televised piece), Channel 9 includes the scientology response. Literally a series of blatant lies: Statement from The Church of Scientology "The Church does not prohibit or discourage members from reporting criminal … [Read more...]
Scientology Squeals Victim
The response to Leah”s lawsuit is scientology’s standard “a bigot is being mean to us poor victims” drivel. This one is especially unhinged, indicative of how worried David Miscavige is about this latest lawsuit naming him. The greater the purple prose and insanity of the inevitable ridiculous comparisons they make directly correlates to the level of volcanic eruption that occurred in the COB suite when he found out about the lawsuit. As Scientology responses go, this one is in the Hall of Fame. I am including their whole statement here in indented italics with my comments followi … [Read more...]
Ex-Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out
I am publishing this here as it is an invaluable repository of information that should be as widely available as possible. Thanks to TrevAnon (Trevor Horn) for sending this to me. Along with this extensive list are two other invaluable lists below. This list represents more people than can be rounded up for an event at Flag these days. If you want to see the complete list, click here. And remember, this is the people who hav e bravely spoken out publicly. There are perhaps 10 times this number who have left and said nothing, For some further information about this list, you … [Read more...]
The Death of Shermanspeak
The passing of Dan Sherman shortly before we left for vacation marked the end of an era in scientology. Dan Sherman was an interesting character. He fancied himself a spy novelist, and took on the role of real life "agent" to establish a line with Gerry Armstrong when he was engaged in litigation with scientology. Sherman convinced Armstrong that he was in contact with "loyalists" who disagreed with the "new regime" of Miscavige and were working inside to overthrow Miscavige and the "new breed of management." Sherman was known as "Sheepskin" and he set up the meeting with Armstrong for me … [Read more...]
Scientology’s Disdain for Law Enforcement
This is an earlier post I am updating, along with a new YouTube video today. In the wake of the Danny Masterson rape trial (soon to be retried after the jury ended up hung), many are curious about scientology's position with respect to reporting crimes to law enforcement. Scientology responded to reports they forbid this in typical fashion -- quoting the LA Times: The Church of Scientology declined to comment on the pending criminal matter, but said the religion has no policy against reporting crimes committed by Scientologists to law enforcement. “Church policy explicitly demands S … [Read more...]
LA County Sheriff’s Department Still Shilling for Scientology
I was surprised to see one of the scientology OSA Bots retweet something about the scientology Super Bowl ad from something calling itself MultiFaith CPAC. Anyone who watched the game no doubt saw the Jesus Gets Us ads and this group put the scientology ad into the same category of "religion represented well." It's impossible any organization not influenced ("safepointed") by scientology would put out such a tone-deaf and ridiculous tweet. This is their Twitter home page: As you can see, it is a Council of the LA Sheriff's Department! Scientology has had a long history with … [Read more...]
More Scientology Desperate “PR”
The desperation is oozing out of the bubble as scientology becomes more frantic trying to salvage their dismal PR in the eyes of the world. Because they don't actually DO anything good that is newsworthy, they resort to sending out paid press releases to try to get some coverage. Within the bubble, they blame the lack of media coverage on the "Chaos Merchants" run by SPs -- of course they are not going to cover the good works of scientology! They are blind to two obvious contradictions -- you can find plenty of stories by those same chaos merchants about the Red Cross or Salvation Army or … [Read more...]
