Clive’s “big release” event over the weekend, with vital news that everyone MUST hear, seems to be encapsulated in his email below. (I haven’t received any report concerning attendance — it was difficult for any Special Correspondent to attend as when you are one of 3 people in the audience even OSA can narrow down who leaked it after 2 guesses).
I realized today that Clive reminds me of Mr. Bean, so in his honor, I included a visual to get things off on the right foot. If it’s not fun it’s not scientology….
The “big news” is that once they reach the 10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs, they will move on to the NEXT 10,000. Wow. That’s a shock. I hope everyone was sitting down.
This email is full of the usual outpoints provided by the bubbledwellers.
First, he gives the “LRH references” to justify their 10,000 target, but then says “Well, that’s not really true about the 10,000, it’s just a start”.
He asserts “this is one of the most successful campaign [sic] we have ever had” — surely after 20 years of this “campaign” and the target just a bit over halfway achieved, it could not be considered successful? But this is the old “sheeple dip” — tell them something, tell them its good, and no matter whether its good or bad, they will think it’s good.
When he asserts: “It is very true that where we have a lot of OTVIIs and VIIIs things generally go better” I wonder what he is referring to? Society in general? Or scientology? Because this means the US — the only place where there is a concentration of these super beings. And I wonder what is better in Clearwater or Los Angeles as a result? Because the state of scientology really sucks. And a broader views shows that the traffic in LA is terrible. The OT’s haven’t done anything about that? And the parking on Clearwater Beach sucks.
Maybe they should get these people to handle the drought in California (oh, they did that when it rained delaying the opening of the Pacifica bridge…), or perhaps send a concentration of these people to Syria to end the war. That WOULD be the responsible thing to do… Or perhaps resolve the melting polar ice caps.
But I think the biggest contrary fact here is when he proclaims: “But there are also the intangible things that occur when someone audits 4 to 6 Solo NOTs sessions a day.” Good scientologists believe that auditing on OT VII creates positive impact on others in the environment because they are auditing charge outside their own bodies. This is what he is alluding to. But when someone is DONE on OT VII they are NOT auditing any more, so that benefit is not being seen in society. Yet, when someone completes they “stay in the figure; this way one does not get a loss whenever someone completes the level.” Huh? I guess the “one” here refers to HIM. And he doesn’t really buy what he is seling about the value of doing 4-6 sessions a day or it WOULD be a “loss.”
Boy, glad I didn’t waste my time going to the briefing, fighting my way through that LA traffic. It’s so much easier to get the CliffNotes version.
Truly a monumental announcement that changed the course of history in this universe as far as I am concerned. In 15 years when they reach the 10,000 on or through Solo NOTs they will then start a new target. Amazing.

Subject: 10,000 Update
10,000 ON OR THROUGH SOLO NOTS CAMPAIGN
OT Committee Update Briefing
The 10,000 On or Through Solo NOTs Campaign has been one of the most successful campaign we have ever had as far as getting public to make Bridge progress; it is an “umbrella” message we have spread across the Scientology world, inspiring many to take their next step at all levels of the Grade Chart.
Thus it is important that all OT Committee Members duplicate and forward the 10,000 campaign. This update and synopsis is to help you with that.
ORIGIN OF THE 10,000 TARGET
This campaign was primarily based on the following LRH quote:
“At any one time on Earth there were not more than about 10,000 people of a caliber that was sufficient to do a little steering or leading. There’s only about 10,000 of them, really.” – LRH, How to Talk to Friends About Scientology, lecture of 18 December 1952
If 10,000 non-Scientologists could do a little steering or leading then 10,000 OTs would be able to do a heck of a lot of steering or leading! This is already being demonstrated in almost all Scientology activities where OTs lead the way and are the backbone of expansion activities, plus in A.B.L.E., W.I.S.E., S.M.I. and as Class V Org staff.
But there are also the intangible things that occur when someone audits 4 to 6 Solo NOTs sessions a day. This is covered in various LRH references but the following quotes are what we started with and sum up this part of the campaign:
“How about where Scientology influences things outside? Do you know that if you processed a very small percent of the society that enough order would result from that action alone to bring sensible actions about on the part of the society. We’re almost talking in terms of mysticism. It’s not totally traceable. Where an individual is capable of bringing order, there is order, whether he brings it or not. That’s why I say you don’t have to clear everybody in the world. If you just released a bunch of people, something would happen. A greater order is generated. We have a greater sphere of order occur as a result of this.” – LRH, Leadership, lecture of 4 Jan 1959
oOo
“It is an axiom in Dianetics that a sufficient quantity of theta brought into proximity with entheta will disenturbulate the entheta and convert it into theta.” – LRH, Science of Survival
oOo
“One Scientologist appearing in one area makes some slight difference. No matter how many thousands of people or millions of people are in that area, he’d make some slight difference.” LRH, How to Conduct a HAS Co-audit and Why, lecture of 5 July 1959
FIRST 10,000
This campaign is the first 10,000. We will be continuing on with the next target once this is made. It is very true that where we have a lot of OTVIIs and VIIIs things generally go better and it is totally true that when we have a large enough number on or through Solo NOTs that we will switch the theta/entheta ratio of the planet, but that will probably be a bit higher than the first 10,000! Use this point however, as many public want to be part of the first 10,000.
(Note: the campaign is “On Or Through Solo NOTs.” People who complete New OT VII stay in the figure; this way one does not get a loss whenever someone completes the level.)
OT COMMITTEES & “X” STAGES
The 10,000 campaign works majorly and very successfully through the OT Committees around the planet. Most OTCs have a Bridge Flow I/C and manyhave their own 10,000 I/C. LA and UK have teams who flat out work on t 10,000 target–the LA 10K Committee and the UK Bridge Flow Team.
OT Committees were originally set the target to 5X their numbers on Solo NOTs (10,000 being roughly 5X from the figure we started at). They do this on a gradient, by first doubling (2X), then tripling, up to 4X and then 5X. This game very quickly ignited across the world and in quite a short period of time the most upstat OTCs completed not just 2X but all the way up to that 5X level. However, not wanting to be left out as they had rapidly found that this campaign had helped activate their field, the 10X level was created–those who complete 5X continue on with 6X, 7X, 8X, 9X all the way up to 10X. (Taiwan just became the first area on the globe to attain 10X.)
We regularly issue the standings for the planet on a briefing sheet that lays out what each area’s starting figure was, how many they have on or through the level now, how many public they have at Flag in PT staying to get onto Solo NOTs and how many they need to complete their next “X” stage.
YOU NEED TO COMMUNICATE THIS MESSAGE
FLAT OUT!
“Nothing is visible unless it communicates. That’s one of those horrible simplicities.” – LRH, Beingness & Communication, lecture of 6 April 1959
It is vital that all OT Committee members communicate about the 10,000 On or Through Solo NOTs target, otherwise it remains invisible.
I know that many of you work very hard to forward the 10,000 message; we are very grateful for that help–aggregated over the entire globe it makes more far of a difference than you know! But the 10,000 target is not done as yet! So push this message at every opportunity!
If we all do that we will end up with enough OTs (leaders) on the planet to make the difference for the planet!

Foolproof
You are wasting your time trying to explain what Solo NOTS is all about.
Sadly this blog which started as perhaps the most informative place on the web to find out what is really going on in the COS now has far too many individuals whose only purpose is to denigrate and degrade all LRH Tech at every opportunity.
Of course these types offer nothing in place of the Tech because there was NOTHING that worked before it.
Nobody goes Clear eating garbage or chanting in a black chamber somewhere
It would appear that some people go quite insane whenever someone tries to help his fellow man.
The thing to do Foolproof is simply rise above all this “yip yip, YapYap” and keep making TA.
They can’t and that’s where the problem is.
Let these charactors carry on running Audited NOTS as a SOLO process and this will take care of them for us.
They will simply give up on the Tech or go and do something else, or get sick either way they will be off our lines.
There is nothjing worse than a seething mass of DEV-T on the lines when someone is trying to get something worth while done.
I think Clint Eastwood said it in a nutshell “Opinions are like assholes, everybodies got one”
Keep up the good work Mike, loved the shots of the dwarf’s hideout.

I think that perceptions are real. I trust and rely on my instincts and perceptions which serve me very well. I believe that good intentions are powerful and have far reaching effects. I believe that love, compassion, integrity and positive postulates are real, substantial forces that can offset or disenturbulate negative forces. I choose to practice these things, however subtle, and use Scn to further my goal to be a positive force in the world. I recall a quote of Ghandi where he said “I love Christians, I just never met one.” I know a Christian group that meets and discusses Bible passages. They argue and debate and confess their complete inability to be a good Christian. Although Scn has a system of bringing about increased awareness, which should make gains more certain, there are still plenty of people who’ve been in for decades and still inval and eval in every sentence. I felt LRH’s pain. My point is that the pursuit of spiritual gain and the pursuit of living up to whatever belief system one has chosen, is a continuous and challenging endeavor over many lifetimes. I refuse to ridicule and tear down those that believe and care, and use their spiritual nature, in whatever gentle way, to lead their lives.

I like this post, Hallie Jane.
It is very positive and very well expressed.
What about other people who might fall into the hidden traps that are built into Scientology by LRH?
Don’t you feel a responsibility, with your experience, to warn people about those traps?

One person’s trap is another’s ideal marriage, job or decision. I respect people by assuming that they are capable of taking responsibility for their own perceptions, decisions and actions. If someone feels they’ve erred, I would advise, learn, forgive yourself and do better. Live intentionally, according to your own code of honor.
But a person can not take responsibility for something they do not know about, or which they can not control.
If you know that there are lies in Scientology, and other people who do not have your experience are being lied to, doesn’t your code of honor tell you to expose those lies so that those people have the truth available to them to make their decisions with?
Mine does.
Why doesn’t yours?

Hi Mike.
These would be NOTs technical issues that would be better left off public blogs. Handlings within “Advanced Procedure” contradicted earlier LRH references/material. Upon thorough testing each by highly-trained ex-FSO Class IXs vets these latter handlings failed to produce the intended result, whereas the earlier ones were spot on. Sorry, demonstration & testing clearly indicated non-workable “additives” were injected into “Advanced Procedure” after 1996. Not only that, they violated basic axioms and metering principles. I’ll be more than happy to take these issues up one by one with you in the background, as any clarifications others would only benefit from.
They were approved by LRH. This “poor job” might well be the same rationale DM is using for “fixing” the tech calling it GAT? If LRH thought they were poor, he could have revised them. By 1984 LRH had still written additional material for NOTs, some of it not released until 1991. I have no problem understanding or applying these materials, so exactly what fallacies/omissions/additives do they contain? And exactly what constitutes a “Poor Job”?
Exactly what in ANY of the NOTs series is confusing and contrary to what? This is the first I have ever heard anyone say this. My post dealt with the NOTs materials. Please cite any written materials in respect to this “Evolution” that has bearing on any contradictions in the original NOTs series.
Mike Rinder says
I dont have the time nor inclination to engage in a debate with you about this. You answered my question — you conclude that the later NOTs materials were not LRH because some ex-FSO auditors said they didnt produce the intended result. Look, I don’t disagree with you about the contradictory stuff in NOTs, as you say. There is plenty of it. But I don’t think you should be asserting what is and isn’t “LRH NOTs” based on “ex-FSO auditors say it doesnt work so it obviously isn’t LRH.” And if you find nothing in the compilation of the materials that is contradictory as to when certain procedures are used and which ones they should be, then roll with it. Seriously, I wish you all the success in the world. I was trying to find out your basis for the assertions you made.
Formost says
You know, CO$ has already announced they’ll be GAT’erizing the OT Levels too. And if they revise Advanced Procedure once more, I guess it’s again considered 100% LRH — NOW. Every revision is touted as lost/restored LRH, even when previous revisions contradict each other. From all this nonsense, I get one stable datum: YOU TEST AND FIND OUT WHICH/WHAT WORKS.

The Golden Age of OT came and went a long time ago…
Robin says
Having gone all the way up the bridge once (through old OT7) then having redone the new OT4 and 5 (boring), I believe I should count as 2 OTs! Of course, I’m no longer in the bubble and, for reasons unknown, have been declared, but I can still bring calm to enturbulation, and better the lives of those around me. So shoot: maybe the old OT7 was more effective than the new one … maybe each time I better the world around me, I count as yet another OT. If Clive follows my lead here, the stats could soar with the stroke of a pen!
Hallie Jane says
Cool Robin, you definitely count!. I have a habit of bringing calm too and a lot of people notice it. I definitely credit the original OT levels and tech training with many of my skills. I also just have that intention, I want things to work well and function. It’s a big factor.

Wow… this article has really produced some strong responses. Especially about the currently on lines OT 7’s and above and their lacking redeemable qualities. My personal close experience with 4 different people on Solo NOTs or above was 50/50 on whether they could be labeled self absorbed ass-holes or not.
I recently read a fascinating article on the South African blog titled “Scientology OT Levels and the State of OT” by Morris Adams dated May 17th. It had some viewpoints I hadn’t read before. One suggesting that NOTs may not have originally intended to be independent OT levels but rather an undercut to the Original OT 5 and OT 6 (the “Real OT Levels” – apparently there were many that had difficulty on those levels.) If you think about the what LRH had to say about OT abilities back in the 50’s, it does seem absurd that an OT Level in current times is the completion of the OT 6 Course.
The article went on to suggest that in the writer’s opinion that not one person has actually finished Solo NOTs yet. He does seem to have the street cred because apparently he’s audited on Solo NOTs for several 1000 hours. Arguably the current RCS environment doesn’t lend itself to people making fantastic break-through gains. I could see people wanting to attest just so they can get out from under the thumb of the RCS (the cost of those 6 month checks and often not being able to leave when you want to is brutal.)
If it is indeed true that the actual EP of Solo NOTs has not really been attained, it will be a perfect excuse for Miscavige to recycle all those who have attested to Solo NOTs for another round of Solo NOTs with the glorious 6 month checks and more life under the thumb of the RCS. I would say we might see that in about 3-5 years or so after he’s milked the GAT II and Superpower for whatever he can get out of it. Push for Solo NOTs completions then let them know they “didn’t make it yet” because of some new reference that they found in LRH’s notes.
It’s really quite a zoo where the animals don’t realize that they’re captive until they escape.
Mike Rinder says
Well, I made one comment in response to that post to correct that exact point about NOTs being an “undercut” to the “real OT 5 and 6”. That is simply incorrect and has absolutely no basis in fact.
Frankly, I think anyone auditing thousands of hours on anything indicates they are mocking up what they are auditing. Either that, or there is NO end to it ever. But that’s simply my opinion. Though he may well be right that nobody has finished it, including LRH (read the account of Sarge on Marty’s blog) — but to that I would say it tends to give credit to the idea that there is no attainable EP….
marildi says
Mike, NED for OTs Series 1 states that the purpose of NOTs is as a remedy for OTs who had been run on Dianetics after going Clear. There’s nothing in the bulletin about NOTs being an OT level. My understanding is that it was the CoS and not LRH who decided to make NOTs and Solo NOTs into OT levels and drop the original LRH OT levels, which actually drilled OT abilities. Do you have any other data about that?
Here’s the first paragraph of NED for OTs Series 1, “NED FOR OTs RD, THEORY OF” 15 Sept 78:
“As has been announced, there is a special handling for OTs who have been run on Dianetics since Clear. It is called “NED for OTs”. This RD is a prerequisite for OT VIII. Its EP is CAUSE OVER LIFE. The RD steps are covered in separate issues. This issue
covers the theory behind the action and also includes OT III data which has never before been released.”
Mike Rinder says
There is no response to this that will satisfy you as it is not written in an HCOB (though it is written on the Grade Chart but that is not “signed” so it doesnt count).
Do what you think is best. I honestly don’t think it is going to do anyone any harm to do old OT 5-7.
Though I will mention to you that LRH CERTAINLY stated that OT 3 was “The Wall Of Fire” and then described NOTs as “The Second Wall Of Fire” — and it was to come after OT III and as a prerequisite to OT VIII.
I have no wish to continue this thread as I know from past experience it will accomplish nothing.
marildi says
Thanks, Mike. No problem. Got it that you aren’t interested in further discussing this subject. Just wanted to let you know that the reason I asked you the question was because I thought you might have data that ISN”T in HCOB’s – specifically as to whether or not LRH himself intended for the “new” OT levels to replace the original ones. As far as I can tell, doing so is not really the same as stating that NOTs was to be a prerequisite for OT VIII. Having NOTs as a prerequisite would actually make a lot of sense in view of what I’ve read about OT VIII – which included cleaning up all previous misownerships. And, apparently, that might involve misowned incidents of BT’s. (Note – all confidential issues can be found on the Internet.)
Mike Rinder says
I do have “hidden data line” data. There is a ton of it contained in “advices” and despatches it’s not funny — like tens of thousands of pages when LRH “was not managing the church”… People don’t like to hear about it as “it isnt written” or “precedence of issues and orders” etc etc so I don’t bother relaying it any more.
marildi says
Okay, understood. Again just to be clear, I wasn’t actually asking from a fundamentalist standpoint, and didn’t have the intention to debate whatever the answer was. I just know that you happen to have inside information from having been there and witnessed things up close. And I’m probably not the only one who would be interested to know whether or not LRH was the one who changed the Bridge – because, as you indicated, it really doesn’t matter what his name is or isn’t attached to. What went on behind the lines might be a very different story. Anyway, I thought you might know one way or the other and would be willing to say. That’s all.

Cindy 12:33pm .. my wife went on OT VII in early 1986 .. 28 years ago .. I cannot speak out for her, I have only collected expirience with OT V and VIIs .. my own case level is Objectives ..
The first of all is that I became for a long time blamed for staying with an OT VII .. should leave, must leave, or my wife would not be able to go on with her OT VII .. finally she did not .. and I am made guilty for it ..
Can not be the truth .. because make guilty is not Cause over Life .. understand?
Cindy says
I understand, Friend, only too much. I saw the church tell many on OT VII to ditch their spouse. As if they had that right to interfere with a marriage. But that is their MO, put seeds of doubt in one spouse’s mind, keep feeding the doubt, add in some 3P for good measure, and pretty soon, Voila! The marriage has gone poof and they are divorced and both spouses are hung with a Wrong Item.
If you are practicing being Cause over Life, wouldn’t you apply the PTS SP Tech and do the “handle or disconnect” step which is of course to Handle first before the drastic step of disconnection? To just knee-jerk divorce a spouse based on the church’s meddling is horrible, immoral and is evil. I know many who have suffered that injustice. It all comes from Davie and flows downward. The HCO terminals have to do what he says or else the Hole for them. So they do it.
Friend, I hope you and your wife patched things up and that your marriage is thriving.
Friend says
Cindy 8:01pm .. all were a lot of third party about me .. it was not easy to find out .. it were 23 people (most of them I have never seen myself) who reported about me .. I told my wife what bullshit it is after she reported to me .. she should look for herself .. but you are right, there was some doubt still existend .. I did ignore it .. it cracked the day when I paid for my full Class VIII and OT V ..
Finally has nobody delivered me that service .. got one repair after another .. no results .. got only more repairs .. have never grasped what we wanted to repair .. never .. did finally quit with the church about 17 years ago and wanted my refund for this bullshit repairs ..
A joke .. was a preclear in NOTs HGC and most pre-OTs did not want to stay with me because of my case level .. the idea Cause over Life became at that time strange to me ..
Cindy says
Yes, that is BS that was done to you. Did you get your money back on that refund request? I hope so. You have friends in the Indie world. We’re glad you got out.
Friend says
Did not know that my wife audited this aliens desaster .. I saw only that she went herself in desaster .. cried evey day and came not out of her bed .. and all was so because of my bad thetan .. I was the worsest of all .. that was the same as in my auditing .. asked me always about my bad dones in the past .. have never thought that I would be so evil et all ..
Cindy says
Friend, I am sorry for the ordeal you and your wife suffered at the hands of the church. But good news is that you’re out of there! It can only get better from her on out. You’re on the way up. Enjoy the sunshine.

I think this is Clive’s main point: He is actually apologizing for the failure of the current “less than” 10,000 OT VII’s to change the world and he is now saying that if we had “a large enough number” like 10 zillion (or whatever) it might make a REAL change in the world.
I think the cognitive dissonance is taking it’s toll with the top people in Co$ like Clive. He has an IQ above a grapefruit. The fact is, the change in the world has not happened and Clive has figured out that there are too few new people ready to start OT VII so there are too few people to make the world change.
My guess is Clive will be out before the year ends. He can see the end.
Here is his quote:
“It is very true that where we have a lot of OTVIIs and VIIIs things generally go better and it is totally true that when we have a large enough number on or through Solo NOTs that we will switch the theta/entheta ratio of the planet, but that will probably be a bit higher than the first 10,000! Well, contrary to some of the comments here, I know a bunch of people through some or most of the OT revels.
The majority of them are damn nice people and the majority are doing very well indeed.
The majority of them are no longer in the bubble though.
If someone wants to do the levels, that is their right. A lot of them experience many, many gains. If realizations are gained, more awareness attained, I think that is fantastic.
If not, they leave it be.
To trash these people, is a very liberal exercise of your right to free speech.
Old school. Why do you comment? It puzzles me?
Let those who wish to pursuer the tech, where they like, do so freely, and with your encouragement.
The problem originally highlighted by Mike, if I understand it correctly was false claims by the church, criminal activity, fraudulent promo of technical claims, decadent justice actions of various kinds, abuse and so on.
Not trashing those who have done training or auditing.
Trash them and you will find yourself trashed, somewhere along the line.

Excellent comment Subreption, thank you. I really disagree with the comments that are gross generalities, everyone is this or that. I also disagree with those who tear down everything Scn, but offer no personal experiences or any history, that they ever tried to apply it with sincerity. I don’t really see the point, of those with no skin in the game, spouting the same hateful remarks over and over. This isn’t dialog or discussion. I also know many people that have achieved various OT levels in Scn, and are beautiful, decent people, not contributing to the madness. There are just as many types of people who have been in Scn than in any other religion. None of this is new. If I include L’s, I’ve done eleven OT levels and have had personally satisfying, spiritual gains on every one. As an auditor I have heard thousands of wins and gains, of all sizes and subjects from hundreds of people. This is what my experience is, it’s what I have personally seen. As I’ve said before, I feel comfortable calling Scn my religion, because it is what I use to make spiritual progress from my own point of view. I plan to finish whatever grade chart actions I damn well please, despite the corporate church. It’s my way of flipping a bird at those who consider me unworthy. Fuck em. I have friends who pray, meditate, do yoga or volunteer at soup kitchens as their spiritual vehicles, which I consider their business and their call to determine what is the right path for them. I would call arrogant, religious, “know best” the plague of the human race. People have the right to the spiritual beliefs of their choosing, from their own point of view, their own experience, their own priorities and in their own time frame. Current radical Scn does not practice real Scn and that’s why it’s a mess and a failure. It is not true to its own purpose which is to free beings and only to free beings. The problem is the group has not been true to its own purpose, which has alloyed its integrity and caused it to fracture and degrade. That’s why we’re here, trying to do something about it.
MJ says
Thank you for that Hallie Jane.

HJ: Straight to the heart of the matter. VWD.
I ran into quite a bit of injustice in scio way back when, pre Misk. I ran into some out tech. But, more importantly, I ran into some (to me) utterly amazing cognitions, incredible friendships which have lasted to this day, and some excellent pieces of writing, signed by LRH (though I do wonder if he was the first to write them), by which I still live my life. Code of Honour? Hard to beat. Also a challenge to adhere to. Did LRH write all that good stuff by himself? Doubtful. But I’m happy he at least brought so much of it to my attention.
LRH’s greatest “crime”, which finally did him in, was that he failed to live by the very tenets he espoused, certainly not the Code of Honour. And his Ego certainly got the better of him.
My thought is that the best of scio will survive via the indies and individuals, people who care and get great satisfaction and joy from watching and helping others survive and prosper better than they had been doing. Hopefully, some will go the David Mayo route and explore and write still better tech.

Complimentary edit. (You’re welcome Clive)
It is vital that all OT Committee members start helping new public and assist them in any way they can, otherwise it remains invisible.
I know that many of you work very hard to forward the Aims of Scientology as written by LRH and have been off the main track chasing false purposes and pie in the sky; now’s the time to get back on purpose! We are very grateful for your help–spread over our own area it makes more of a difference than you know! Our good friends in Clearwater need more of our help. So push this message at every opportunity.
If we all do this we will end up with an increased amount of theta and may just possibly make a difference to those we come in contact with.
You are all truly valuable beings and much appreciated. Keep up the great work!
Warmest regards,
Clive Rabey,

If Clive really gave a damn about the theta/entheta ratio on the planet he would immediately institute study time for all his staff and with the miracles of GAG II he’d have several more thousand dedicated people on or through Solo NOTs in a couple of years.
Actions speak louder than words from a mouth with a very forked tongue sticking out of it.
What he really sees is 10,000 on Solo NOTs with an average of 20K per year for sec checks equals 200 million buckaroos a year. And what he really does is deprive his staff of sleep and force them reg, reg, reg the public that will bring in those precious dollars.
There is absolutely NOTHING spiritual about Clive or his Clearwater Cult. That some people do actually get some uplifting sessions seems totally secondary to the almighty bucks they bring in.

Never was impressed with many of these *Pre* “OTs” on NOTs since most of them are untrained morons and only did “the level” to achieve status.
What to do when you get 10000 of these elitist?
Have ’em stand in line with the Skull and Bones, the Neo-Cons, the Communists, Objectivists, OTO and any of the other various and sundry cults who seek World Domination.

OS,
A “Class IX” these days in most cases is really a Grad V who has done the Advanced Course Specialist Course.
As far as I’m concerned it’s an undeserved false status.
Also anyone above the actual Level of Class VIII still there in most cases is so compromised by their acceptance of Sgt Furry’s false “Golden Age Tech” that as far as I’m concerned they should retrain *for real* from the bottom up on the actual unadulterated tech after maybe an intensive or two of False Data Stripping in my opinion.

Interesting figure of 10,000 on Solo NOTS.
Since 1985 I have met only 7 people who are actually on LRH’s Solo Nots.
I have met and heard many who are on someone elses “versions”.
Most of those are now raving.
This is not (pardon the pun) an area to piss about with lightly.
Knowing the terminology of something is very different to actually engaging and confronting it and running it standardly.
There a few in the EU borders claiming to be CLASS VIII and OT VIII who are no even CLASS V and left the Church as OTIII.
The field can be a dangerous place when you don’t know your way around.
But it still must be a better option than paying for what the dwarf is serving up as NOTS, and what one would have to go through to get it!
Mike Rinder says
Not sure what you are talking about — ie what is “LRH’s Solo NOTs”? What they are doing in the church IS Solo NOTs if you take away the sec checks every 6 months.
Foolproof says
He is talking about the squirrel versions of NOTs being offered in the Freezone. And many in the field don’t even know there is a whole package of HCOBs and (somewhat) different tech being used on Solo NOTs (OTVII) as compared to Audited NOTs (OT5). Many in the Freezone think that the 1978 NOTs HCOBs are also Solo NOTs – not true. They are part of the whole package of course but those specific techniques of Audited NOTs (directly) are not used on Solo NOTs. Solo NOTs has its own techniques. As to Advanced Procedure of Solo NOTs Mike you are quite correct- that is an LRH issue. I don’t know where that comment came from (saying it was a made-up issue) but AP was a 1984 maybe 1983 HCOB issue.
And actually there is nothing particularly wrong with the idea of sec-checking someone – after all the Church must know if the guy on their lines hasn’t just hit his wife over the head with an axe or is working for the FBI or something. What is the outpoint here is the amount of totally unnecessary time and money- producing questions added on to the sec check that is the real culprit here. There’s nothing wrong with a good sec- check – it’s good for ya! But when it is about 100 questions long then it is something else entirely of course. It used to be a fairly short crisp action, which is what LRH originally intended it to be.
Formost says
The 1978 through 1991 NOTs are based on LRH HCOBs. Subsequent revisions to 1996 (GAT I) were “Improvement alterations” such as NOTs Series 28 & 35 as well as modified Process Sheets not written by LRH but by the Tech hierarchy. Some handlings in a reference known as “Advanced Procedure” only released by formal application to RTC once the pre-OT is far enough into the level are not LRH actions, and are about as off-beat as 3-swing F/Ns.
As with GAT version anything, materials and procedures had been altered, and NOTs & Solo NOTs weren’t spared either.
That being said, not all LRH NOTs references became available until 1991, so the periods prior to that the level was incomplete, and many did not get the full and proper EP. The ‘TFCU’ NOTs materials out here in the FZ/Indies for both ACS NOTs training as well as the Solo NOTs auditor’s course contain all LRH materials up to 1991 and are fully complete without alterations or additives.
So, if you got your NOTS at the CO$ between 1991 and 1996, chances are you got the best of all worlds.
Mike Rinder says
I don’t know what you base your conclusions on, but I will tell you that I went through every transcript, note, submission of HCOB’s and session summary concerning NOTs in order to disprove David Mayo’s defense when he was sued by RTC and CSI that he was the author of NOTs.
I subsequently went through everything that LRH said about it AFTER that.
The original compilation of the HCOBs on NOTs was a poor job. There were plenty of confusing and contrary statements made by LRH during the evolution of its development.
The 1996 additions, including Advanced Procedure were absolutely LRH.
Can you tell me how you arrive at the conclusions you make and what your source of information is?

This is fascinating, Mike.
Were you OT 5 at the time, or did you just have to follow “no case on post” in order to look at these materials?
Do you have a case number, year, court district, or any other identifying information about this lawsuit so that these legal docs can actually be looked up?
Also, have you ever thought of providing a brief kind of legal history of the Church where you give your opinions on what were the most significant legal cases that LRH and the Church has been involved in?
I believe that as one of the front line warriors in these legal battles, your view of this history would shed much light of reality on “Scientology’s impact upon the world”.
After all, The Code of a Scientologists states that a Scientologist should take responsibility for Scientology’s impact upon the world. How can a Scientologist take responsibility for that if the legal impacts are almost totally unknown to them?
Alanzo
Mike Rinder says
Yes, I was OT 5. I was one of the first people to start OT 5 as a pc for the first NOTs auditors who were trained by David Mayo at Flag.
The case is Religious Technology Center v. Advanced ABility Center et al — this has been covered numerous times and is widely available.
I don’t have the time, patience nor inclination to write either a book or a history of legal cases.
Alanzo says
Thanks for answering.
I was thinking more along the lines of a couple of posts, rather than anything like “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” by Edward Gibbons. Although if you did write something like that, I would be one of 5 or 6 people who would buy it.
And I wouldn’t just have it on my shelf for show: I would read it, too! (:>)
You wrote:

This is an amazing fact.
While you spent the time reviewing Mayo’s vs Ron’s writings on this, you must have been under incredible cognitive dissonance as an OT 5 with “wins” from NOTs while fighting Ron’s personal auditor for 8 years in court over the “source” of this tech.
Just amazing.
Mike, you were in a position in Scientology to have incredible insight into its inner workings. Your viewpoint is very valuable and I am grateful to you for getting the truth out as you see it on Scientology.
Thank you very much.
Alanzo
Mike Rinder says
No Cognitive dissonance. Mayo’s best defense was to claim that he was the author of NOTs — and this there was no intellectual property right infringement. But it was very clear from going through all that happened that he was no more than a scribe. It’s a pretty hard story to buy that the Snr CS FSO takes L. Ron Hubbard into session and starts running him on processes that nobody had ever heard of before….

So you are saying that LRH, the very sick pc that he during this time, was giving his auditor the questions he should be asked – as the pc – during the development of NOTs?
I’m not trying to re-try this case in any way: I am looking at this from the viewpoint of the development of the technology that is sold to Scientologists as “the route to OT”.
Looking at how this tech was actually developed, it does not jibe with what Scientologists are told about how Dianetics and Scientology was researched and developed, does it?
I know that Melanie Murray was involved with this at this time, as well. Were there actually any pilots run on pcs – other than LRH – before this was sold to the public as “New Era Dianetics for OTs”?
The real history of this research and development was never disclosed to Scientologists via the Church, was it?

There was a time when I fully bought into the whole theta/entheta business; easy to do when you’re in the bubble. Nowadays I’m not too sure. LRH recommended not reading the news that it was “enturbulating”, so Scnists avoid news and media, but to be honest with you, I cannot recall ever reading something in the news which got my panties in a bunch. In fact, I would prefer to KNOW than NOT KNOW. Additionally, I’ve always consider OT friends of mine who would get enturbulated by a news article or by a movie, to be utter wimps. I certainly did not spend a boatload of money and decades of my life to a sensitive little twat! Grow a pair why don’t ya!
And this theta/entheta “ratio” sounds precise and almost scientific, but what the hell is it? I mean, does anyone have a reliable, predictable means of measuring the amount of “theta” or “entheta” in a society? Nope. Again, there is absolutely no evidence that any of these concepts are real or even workable. But, there are plenty of anecdotal examples where this isn’t the case.
If this concept were real we would see some amazing things happening in the city of Clearwater. Simply being in that space where the ratio is clearly tipped in theta’s favor, would have a calming, therapeutic effect. Crime would be non-existent. Postulates would, well…just happen. And people certainly would not die of dehydration. Yet we see none of this, not even close. So, if they are unable to produce this phenomena within a super controlled environment, like Flag, how in the hell are we do believe they are saving the freaking planet by reviving dead entities and sending them on their way??? C’mon people, wake the fuck up! This shit just does not pass muster.
Schorsch says
I can agree that OTs made in Scientology have Zero positive effect on the environment. But there are people around that do have a positive effect on their environment. Let us not call them OT (because this is now ridiculed) but enlightened beings. As any child needs some guidance from parents or adults any one of us would need guidance from enlightened beings. Not those from the past but actually in present time.
Hollywood always does mimic real life in order to hide truth or falsify it. In movies we see some shades of reality. What they are really good at is mocking up a life without enlightenment. What a fun to kill someone. Shoot one and smile. Oh the next one after a drink. Nothing to it. Or the war movies. How nice.
There are some here on earth. In case you meet one in person you know. In general your awareness increases. And some of them did increase their potential through the OT levels.
Brian says
One of the mental contsructs, I was glad to be rid of, after years of being out, is the evaluating or judging human beings if they did the OT levels or not. Or if I did nor not.
I remember women saying,”oh, I’m dating an OT 3.” Or, “I’m working for an OT 7”-wink wink nod nod, as if it truly meant something of “deep value.”
I have concluded that principles are senior to labels. The agreement that human beings are such and such, because of a paper cert or auditing action completion does not guarantee a decent person. Or even a sane person.
Labels and certs are meaningless really, unless we are trying to get a job and are demonstrating real world demonstratable knowledge.
Gone for me are the scientological mental filters, that preempted my accurate understanding, of the person before me.
It is a High Crime in Scientology to see the truth of an OT as an A hole because that invalidates the tech. So yet another thought stopper from being able to seeing clearly.
Decent people are decent not because of spiritual powers or overblown importance given to thought club identities and certs.
OT 7s were like celebrity gods in the old days. Their attainment of OT preempted my capacity to see them as they were, because I agreed that they were somehow transcendent personalities because that is what Ron said they would be.
Simple decent people: my new heroes.
1984 says
I think that “…..a sufficient quantity of theta brought into proximity with entheta will disenturbulate the entheta……” is true.

No, it is not true. The 7s and 8s that are bumbling around LA are the biggest group of incompetents on the whole track. And the incompetents are the high end of the norm. The majority are just bug-eyed, KA drunk zombies feeding off of the little theta left in the field. And a disturbingly large number are con men, jerks or – and this is very true – criminals!

Cognited and Out, I once, long go (BEFORE DM touched the “tech”) looked at that demographics mortality wise vs. the population in general. Your chances of dropping dead, if on Solo NOTS, were about 500% higher than the general population.
LRH, friend of mankind. (Unless you want to continue living)
Mike Rinder says
I very much doubt this. 5X “higher” meaning what? 5 people on Solo NOTs die before the average life expectancy of the country they live in, for every one of the population that doesnt reach that age?
This sounds like one of Miscavige’s “stats” that has no meaning but sounds impressive.
Cooper Kessel says
Old School,
I wish you wouldn’t try and sugar coat your observations! LOL
“You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”
That made my day! Between the VIIs and VIIIs still in paired up with the regges on staff you have quite a seething mass of somewhat living organisms.
It kind of reminds me of a compost heap; it starts out as a stinking mass of waste but after it is dumped into a pile and cooked and turned enough times it can become something beneficial.
That crew is going to need a lot of cooking and turning and I expect it will overheat before it is over.
Old School says
Thanks Cooper. I like your imagery about those “OT’s” regging. I tried responding to Cognited and Out but it either got eaten by the board s/w or was too much reality for the Mod. to allow. 🙂
Cognited and Out says
Real stat or not, those of us that “cognited and got out” have taken our wins and reclaimed our lives. We are the living. For the sheeple, they have passed the point of the life changing wins, and their lives and dynamics are in tatters. If I hadn’t gotten out, I’d have given up too. The Truth is that for the 7s and 8s – especially the 8s – there’s no longer a real reason to live.
FOTF2012 says
Old School — I’m curious about what you are asserting. You mention 500% / 5X death rate if you are on solo NOTS compared to the general population, and you mention some sort of demo that showed that.
What was the demo? Who did it? What was the sample size? Was it a randomized study done with rigor or are you referring to an anecdotal observation over some period of time?
I’m sincerely interested. I do suspect that the average lifespan of Scientologists may be shorter than the lifespan of those who are in the general (non-Scientologist) population for reasons like poor medical and dental care; lack of exercise and recreation; chronic sleep deprivation; smoking; poor diet; stressful work conditions; and so on.
But I do not know of any objective data that would show this — largely because I doubt Scientology would allow such a study. So if you have a reference to a study, that would be interesting.
(Conversely, if an objective study, done independently of the Church, showed a _lower_ incidence of disease, early death, suicide divorce, etc. compared to the general population, that would be something the Church should trumpet. But even then it may be the case that other faiths could show similar positive impacts.)
Old School says
Mike Rinder asked “I very much doubt this. 5X “higher” meaning what? ” Deaths per thousand for a demographic. It is covered under the mathematical subject called statistics. It is VERY straightforward to figure. CDC has one side of the stats, Dept 10B had the other side.

Meanwhile, you are still full of shit. Provide the specifics of the two figures you compared to conclude that is one is 5X more likely to die than an average person when on Solo NOTs.
Old School says
Mike, I didn’t try to be “wise” by my answer. I just meant that the math was simple to factor. In the demo outside, 1 person in 1,000 died in a 2 year period. 5 died in the same demo that had done solo nots in the same demographic and same period. This was ~’87. Sorry I didn’t keep the names from that time period. Just did the math.
Lordburg12 says
Old School, I respect your right to have your own opinions on all things about Scientology. But if you find it so abhorrent and without any validity from your own experience, why not move on down the road of life? Why keep following this blog and making your pronunciamentos that there are no wins to be gained in using the tech? The larger percentage of the participants here have had excellent wins, and your viewpoint is not shared by them, nor are you likely to change their minds.
I think you protest too much.

Most of those on Solo NOTs are hardly likely to be young 20 year olds are they? No, they are mostly middle-aged to late middle-aged stressed out businessmen and businesswomen who are also of course PTS to the current regime and its brutal “handlings” and outright robbery. So the demographic survey being implied here is probably also full of holes and lacking real data. There is of course a covert campaign being run in from somewhere (on the periphery of the “field”) from certain types who are failed cases with mounds of withholds to denigrate NOTs and this is just another way of trying to do so – i.e. “NOTs is dangerous, don’t do NOTs or you will die” – this sort of drivel. Now I am not saying that those still “in” the Church do not suffer from various ills and some of course do die young(er). But when considers the terrible suppression (I am constantly being flabbergasted by what outlandish atrocity – financial or otherwise – they can dream up to suppress those still “in”) – it is no wonder that these stressed out people may die younger. But it is nothing to do with the tech of NOTs. I would hazard a guess and say that all these people still in the Church are auditing over out-ruds and wrong PTS items i.e. out-lists (which some might argue should be handled in Solo NOTs – but can’t be in an SP environ). To (try and) blame the tech of Solo NOTs for this is a wrong target – that tech works and very, very well when applied in a non-suppressive environ – the right target is the SP running the show and the suppression, which Mike is doing his best to expose. Or do these people criticizing LRH’s Solo NOTs tech as such have some sort of other agenda?

Assuming that these folks (SPs) were in some category of being leaders, what to do now that they are leading the pack astray. Furthermore, how can Clive and Company figure out who might later become a malcontent and who will remain at the Kool Aide stand like good boys and girls and follow orders.
Clive might want to examine his predicament; those that follow orders without examination may not have the basic characteristic of what it takes to lead. That leaves us with the basic fact that those that can do some leading have left the pack and are turning the lights onto the truth about what Clive and his band of beggars are really up to.
Personally I am glad to see the former No. 2 spot and No. 3 spot in the $cientology hierarchy were occupied by leaders who continue to lead. (No. sleight intended to the many other execs, staff and public that are also leading the way in exposing the truth and I want to acknowledge your efforts and thank you for doing what you do)
Will Clive manage to amass 10,000 actual followers in his Band of Beggars or will collapse occur first. My money is on collapse; the trend is taking people (esp. leaders) away from the cult and not into it IMHO.

Coop — good question concerning the SPs. I suspect (though it is based on a lot of experience and observation) that they are NOT deducted everyone who has been discovered to be an SP from the list. Now, I could be wrong. But I am willing to stake everything I own on the fact that I am not. 🙂 There is one simple reason for this certainty. If they DID deduct all the SP’s they would be going backwards. And if they deducted everyone who is not auditing “on the level” they would be in a catastrophic free fall. There is an immutable law in corporate scientology — EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE. The motto is “We are going up while the world is going down” so it always has to be “higher than”, “greater than,” “more than,” “faster than,” and any “otherer than” that the word salad woodchipper can spew out.

I think your personal assets are very safe with that bet! And they are of course going backwards but will be the last to figure it out.
Another thought comes to mind about this process of the great cult unwind and that is when it starts to become obvious that the sheeple are just not showing up for their regular dipping. I thought that would have occurred by now but it looks like we will have to endure a few more rounds of the wood chipper chirping about just how much wood a woodchirper can chew (I mean chip) before choking!
Yo Dave, How is that good buddy Dan of yours doing on his diet today. We apostates need some more word salad to chew (I mean chip) on. Speaking of chipping, I have been chipping away on one of your folks at the kool aide stand and they recently spit up a whole round of stuff about you and your band of sheepdippers. You and your good buddies had better get busy herding the flock, those on the fringes tend to disappear overnight………after an evening on the internet.

Since divorcing the church I feel better than ever.

Yep, Coop is right. The leaders have left the building. And some are out here getting the show on the road, which is a great thing. So how will Davie reach his goals with just sycophants and DB’s surrounding him. After all it is just Dave and Tom against the world (and the DB’s).
Just call me malcontent.

Clive, Clive we’ve heard your jive

One thing you oughta realize
It’s all about to take a dive

“Sheepledip” – snigger. A good synonym for $cientology! 🙂

Hum, I think we have a little problem with this theta disenturbulating the entheta; these OTs are in such an entheta environment of just doing and saying only what they “suppose to” that, whatever little theta they may have, it has by now become a huge solid block of entheta (despite their smiles). Add to that re-doing actions such as Purif and Objectives and you also have a very solid recreated mass.
You see, that is why they haven’t affected favorably most of the planet.
And if dear Clive finds out how many OT VIIs have been started ON OT VII on the apostate’s field and how many OT VIIs and VIIIs have silently departed the Church, boy, his theta universe sure is going to get enturbulated. But his OTC friends will help him on that, I guess.

my wife was on OT VII .. tried to handle the environment ..

Friend, And…? I’m waiting to hear more of your wife’s experiences on OT VII.

I was on Solo Nots when Clive came up with his “bright idea” of 10,000 people on OTVII. That’s all this ever was, is or will be. An arbitrary number some guy came up with (Clive) to boost his stat. A manufactured demand.
Cindy says
“An arbitrary number some guy came up with (Clive) to boost his stat. A manufactured demand.” So true Gail! I was on VII when Clive came up with this too. And guess what? In the 15 or so years since that has been pushed, they are no closer to 10,000 on SN.
In fact, if you subtract for the completions on VII and for the defections, the SP declares, the people off the level due to illness or body problems, the people off the level due to no money or even bankruptcy, people off due to death (yes, deaths on OT VII), then if you factor all that in, the number is going in the wrong direction and is minus more and more each day. Can’t have that, so they lie about how many are “On OT VII” to keep them coming in. It’s a camouflaged hole. In LA you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting someone who is “off the level.”
