Is scientology really this desperate?
This came to The Aftermath Foundation email address…
Apparently there is no end to their nuttiness.
Are they trying to send a message of some sort?
“We are confronting and shattering suppressives”
Or is this simply a reflection of their inability to master the simplest administrative procedures, despite having the “only workable administrative technology on earth”? They send emails from anonymous accounts attaching the latest junk from STAND League or Hate Watch or Freedom Media Ethics or whatever they call themselves. They probably gather up every email address and just send out this sort of blast — after all, Ron says it is the size, not the quality of an org’s mailing list and the number of mailings to it that determines gross income. So, this is entirely on policy….
Who knows.
But what is clear — that this is being sent out by Church of Scientology International signifies how desperate they are to try to get some “raw meat” into the organization. I can only imagine what would happen if someone showed up at the address listed (which is the Hollywood Guaranty Building) and asked to do an OCA… They would be bustled out of the building, security alerted, and escorted to the LA Org Test Center half a mile down Hollywood Blvd.
RK says
Last week there was a gun fight just around the corner from the Org in Sacramento. In minutes, 6 dead and 15 known wounded and people fleeing in terror. The area was in lock down while police investigated.. But not a peep from the Org. No condemnation of the violence in their neighborhood, no offer of support or solace to the suffering. Instead this piddly-ass test is promoted, that gives the same result to everyone who takes it.

A few thoughts.
1 This is hilarious that the tech-pros sent this to The Aftermath Foundation.
2 Since someone opened this Email, please run all of your anti-spyware programs.
3 Does every $ci.. have to take the Addidas/BusterBrown/PennyLoafer/Oxford test or is it just a “come-on” to lure folks?
PeaceMaker says
I’ve seen somewhere that this is part of some new campaign, with updated graphics for brochures which go in holders, and that members are presumably supposed to go and place at locations where literature can be left. It may even be combined with some local advertising in the media, in some places.
Presumably Scientology is desperate both to get members re-engaged and back involved in trying to “disseminate”, and also to try to possibly even recruit some new “raw meat.” It remains to be seen to what extent they’ve lost their hold on the membership they had, and they don’t seem to be doing anything that would allow them to exploit recent trends to improve their dismal recruiting prospects — on top of which they’re pushing the same old test with increasingly dated and even weird questions about railroad timetables and whatnot.

I guess the question has to be: Wins what?
Been there, done that, got countless t-shirts.
Btw Mike – I’ll send you piccies of the Murrumbidgee and hopefully koalas there as the colony at Narrandera has grown and moved downstream to the farm
Mike Rinder says
Looking forward to them mate.

I finally started back to reading a book that was given to me two years ago. There is a quote in it that seemed to cover a lot of ground – past, present, future, social media, the cult, etc.
“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”

Please be kind in any responses. My question is genuine curiosity. Why are there no new episodes on the podcast? The most recent episode I can find is from March 8th 2022.
Mike Rinder says
Just taking a break. We both have other things we have to take care of. Will be back again.

Thank you for the question and the answer..

Taking TIME?? Don’t you know that there’s not much time LEFT?? That we’re on the front porch to … wait, front porch? Pooch? Front of the pooch? Pinks or greys?
Um… Hang on… Er…
Oh. Ok then.

Hilarious! I guess “Aftermath Foundation” counted as a New Name to Central Files on somebody’s stat… so at least there’s that. 😂

Thank you for informing us about e-mails being sent to your little group. We shall remove them at once. Downstats and SPs like yourselves are not worthy of such glorious technology that saves lives, brings people uptone and is the only means of saving the planet. I am willing to wager that the most horrid Aquamarine is the brains behind your pathetic little group and that degraded being Mike Rinder is the front man. So we shall be deleting those emails immediately.

Any time scientology, or what’s calling itself that these days, “loses” a prospect is red-letter. Particularly when it’s as hot a prospect as the Aftermath Foundation.
BTW, have the drones at RTC/OSA been sending any catfish/trolls/red herrings to the Foundation to try to catch them “out”? I’m sorta disappointed that OSA is too downtone to “strike an (ineffective) blow for scn – take one for the tiny tyrant, so to speak.
And YES, scientology IS that desperate. Always has been, trying to bring in more income than Hubbard hisself could squander.

Brain research on Nazi “euthanasia” victims: Legal conflicts surrounding Scientology’s instrumentalization of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society’s history against the Max Planck Society

ABSTRACT
In 1985, historian Götz Aly published an article showing that the director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research, neuropathologist Julius Hallervorden (1882–1965), had acquired brains of Nazi “euthanasia” victims and brain specimens of at least 33 children gassed at the Brandenburg killing center on October 28, 1940, which were still kept by the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research. Aly criticized that the Max Planck Society had suppressed articles by journalist Hermann Brendel in the 1970s claiming that institutes of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society had conducted brain research within the framework of “euthanasia.” New sources show that these articles, which were the subject of a lawsuit, were published in a newspaper called Freiheit run by the German branch of Scientology, of which Brendel was editor-in-chief. The articles were part of Scientology’s antipsychiatry campaign. They mixed historical facts about racial hygiene and “euthanasia” in Nazi Germany with ludicrous and unfounded accusations alleging that violent, racist, and dehumanizing research methods typical in Nazi research were still carried out at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry. The legal conflict between the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG) and Scientology about the role of brain researchers in the Nazi era is analyzed here through combining perspectives from the history of neuroscience and socio-legal history. In contrast to trials of Nazi war crimes against “euthanasia” perpetrators, the civil law case of the MPG against Scientology from 1972 until 1975 instead concerned the instrumentalization of the Nazi past of psychiatry and brain research for ideological and commercial motives. The Scientology case caused social and legal ripples, and its after effects extended to 1986, when the MPG considered taking legal steps against Aly’s publication.

Oboy, just what I needed to start my day. May I request that such OT material be sent elsewhere? Or perhaps we all could start reporting on the excretory processes of the various animals around us, ya think?
mwesten says
Thanks for this! It’s a fascinating paper…and very well balanced, imho. Acknowledges the complexities associated with this particular area of nazi-era research, and takes multiple considerations into account when analysing the claims scientology made – as well as MPG’s denials. Great read.

“We are confronting and shattering suppressive’s”
I’m confused tiny dinghy boat Captain Dave.
1. Is this an admission of guilt that you have and are still running the delusional Fair game tactics, intimidating, hiring PI’s, harassing, stalking and threatening Scientology’s suppressive citizens?
Those who chose to escape, leave, resign and quit your vindictive CULT.
Makes me wonder if Scientology is so great then why is everyone leaving and there are rumored plans of a mass exodus for the real world?
2. Are you running out of things to do Captain Dave? Losing control? Looks like the FREE SUPPRESSIVES are making headway, sharing their stories of your Abusive Cult, petitioning the IRS to revoke your tax exempt status and speaking out to warn the general public of what your controversial church really is.
To me it looks like you’re LOSING the battle.
3. It’s illegal to diss the free, kind, smart and beautiful suppressive’s yet you claim protection under the first amendment? That is your weak right as church. But when you lose tax exempt status it will be FAIR GAME on you tiny Captain Dave and Scientology. Prepare to cough up some big bucks.
4. Shattering…Seriously Captain Dave. Who writes this stuff? The only thing you have shattered is your own delusional mind into thinking you are so great, a thetan and a leader. There is no such thing as a thetan and you suck as a leader.
In the real world it goes like this Hi, I’m Dave and I’m a thetan.
CEO/Board of Director’s:
A what? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Who is this guy? The mailroom is in the basement. Leader/CEO my ass. Call security. Call the psych ward.
5. Confronting… I don’t see you going on TV, giving interviews and speaking out against the suppressive’s or meeting with them face to face.
Are you a scaredy cat?
Are you really that afraid of Mike Rinder or Leah Remini? Maybe you should look up the definition instead of hiding behind defamatory websites and fair game BS.
6. When you are going to confront the reality that you are not welcomed in Clearwater anymore? Or on earth for that matter.
7. I get the sense that your tiny Bubble is going to be shattered very soon.
8. Where’s your wife Shelly?
Did you suppress her too?
Part one….
Jere Lull says
The enterprise calling itself scientology is headed (I hesitate to say “led”), by an ignorant, arrogant high-school drip-out who never thought that the words of the flounder were worth studying and applying. No, Dwarfenführer® was much too good for that, but he took the words of Machiavelli to heart and carved out quite the comfortable life for himself out of what Hubbard built from nothing but a fertile imagination. Once ensconced, he could and did alter anything that didn’t quite suit his purposes. Now things pretty much run themselves and all he need do is guzzle fine whiskey to his heart’s content and liver’s dismay. So ends the tale of scientology’s greatest squirrel and SP. No wonder his minions can’t tell when they’re wasting effort and money advertising to the wrong public, nor could they change their ways when informed of their errors. LRH, and now the Tiny Twit, can do NO wrong, so their outdated and insane decrees must be followed exactly to the letter forever despite their proven guarantee of crashing stats to zero EVERY time.

Yes, desperate as all get out.
I get mail (USPS stuff) from the cult at my address nearly daily. And some of it is addressed to a person I’ve never heard of and, as I am the first owner of this house the person has never lived here either. Cuckoo, desperate cult indeed.
Fade away soon please.

If I may push Objectivism a bit. In Objectivism there’s the concept of the Sanction Of The Victim. This shows up in Scientology practice. In Scientology arbitration (as I understand it) the Scientology organization is always right. In accepting Scientology arbitration the victim is sanctioning their own victimization.
Geoff Levin says
The cult is following the same play as when I got in 54 years ago. The fact that they can’t change is why they keep getting smaller and smaller. Living in a bubble doesn’t help them understand their public. They are becoming more an more alienated from reality every day.
