There seem to be some photos missing of the actual surf legends.
And the “endorsement” that after being handed a copy of Dianetics, legend Rob Machado “commented” that he is interested in mental health. Wow. That is some really weak sauce. He is probably “psych-influenced” and thus PTS and ineligible for Dianetics….
Dale Dobson apparently had nothing to offer.
But there is so much else weird about this.
No idea if this is sponsored by the South Coast “ideal” Mission or Orange County “ideal” org. Apparently they don’t want anyone to know who they really are.
They don’t even have a current E-Meter? How are they going to get accurate reads OMG! (And the meter is not part of “Book One” auditing — I suspect these people don’t even know what the procedure IS in Book 1).
Buy a book and receive a free “stress test” — stress tests are always free.
They have massage tables set up in their tent — apparently to offer “nerve assists” which are also not part of Dianetics.
Carefully there is no sign of the word scientology anywh
Wonder why?

You don’t have anywhere near the stress level you will have after we get your name and address. And all for free!
Roberta Kellogg says
Val, I recently took a personality test online and since then have been receiving at least one email per day from the local Battle Creek Michigan org, trying to get me in to discuss my ‘ruins’. 😆 I guess they didn’t notice that I am the one usually out protesting in their front yard! Lol 😆 OSA is slacking on their investigations! Love your stories!
Chris Shugart says
Yow. They had to stretch the truth to the point of blatant fabrication. But have no fear, the clams will eat it up. Next thing you know there will be rumors that Machado is on his OT levels. And wasn’t Hubbard part of the early South Bay surfing scene in the thirties?
Doug Sprinkle says
Is David miscavige developing an ideal surfboard. I think I read somewhere that Ron was ian accomplished surfer also?

I bet the book was a giveaway for a foto, and a free stress test, that is allways free.
I love it, and laugh.

“Buy a book and receive a free “stress test” — stress tests are always free.”
So is the stress that goes along with the incessant demands for dollars that follow !!!!!!!
Yo Dave,
Ya gotta stop the bleach and ammonia thing and maybe, just maybe you will stop yer “irritating gas ” emmisions. Not likely ……. but it’s a maybe. We know you love maybe(s).
Apostate Alex says
“Buy a book and receive a free stress test” had me laughing. It’s more like ‘get a free stress test & then we’ll make you buy the book!’

I saw the photos before I noticed the X post and thought this was an early 90’s flashback. The “see a thought” sign looks like something one of my buddies would come up with before he closed all the car windows, locked the doors and passed gas – then laughed hysterically as the rest of us tried to escape before the methane caused brain damage.
Maybe I’m thinking that because the same guy had a “fallopian swim team” T-shirt that had just a little more cachet than a “Dianetics Surf Team” shirt.
Looking back lots of my friends were weird … but weird in a fun way, not weird in a Dianetics Surf Team way.
Denny Owen says
Is that another version of the “Trucker Mudflap Girl” in the “See a thought” bubble? 😂😂😂😂

No mention of Scamtology? I wonder why too. But the word appears in many postings on the club’s website. But even more interesting is the site has has only 12 followers. https://www.instagram.com/surfingskatingscientologists/

They carefully never talk about scny when presenting dianetics because it’s like mixing bleach and ammonia together, it turns into a toxic irritating gas.
