Here is a new ad from WISE explaining the incredible value of “disconnection tech”:
The scientology “Admin Tech” people at the World Institute of Scientology Enterprises are hawking some more of Hubbard’s “religious scripture” (which is what they call it in scientology) as “secular management technology” which is what they call the same thing at WISE.
These 3 booklets contains the “secrets” to dealing with Suppressive Persons. Including disconnection.
Like the scientology euphemism “confront and shatter” which is actually an admonition to “run and hide, sever all connection” with an SP, the WISE “How to Get Along With Others” is the “tech” on how to not get along, but bail, if you decide the person is an “SP.”
They dress everything up to sound palatable. The truth of it is not.
Golden Era Parachute says
Anyone from WISE who comes across this, know that Scientology is the ‘source’ of the materials and know that Scientology and the Sea Org are both known as a cult. In other words, you are becoming associated with a group that has a very narrow world view that does not conform to public consensus or general ideology.
I think with the recent crackdown on free speech and not following the mainstream narrative, it is important to emphasize the above information. Scientology is not a religion, it is a cult. Evidence is linked below.

I guess that’s a loss leader, spending advertising dollars to sell a cheap product as bait in hopes of catching a bigger fish.
In the 1970’s the Organization Executive Course was sold to non scientologists and I think it cost over $3,000. The OEC students shared the same course room with the scn students (the two I saw were in a separate part of the room) and the scn students were told to leave the wogs alone and not pitch the scn “applied religious philosophy”.

They used to promote TRAINING, but notice that’s gone.
It used to be the ‘coolest’ religion, that’s gone.
It used th be th he world’s fastest growing religion. Crickets.
What will it be now, MANKINDS FIRST JANITORIAL TECHNOLOGY??? KJW? Keeping Janitology Working!!
Getting the virus killed everywhere consists of :
1. Having the correct DefCon formula.
2. Knowing the formula.
3. Knowing it is , well, what kind of crap will people fall for.
Hammering out of existence…

Hello Dotey OT,
Very entertaining post. Many good laughs. I just want to let you know I enjoyed it very much.

My first job was a part time gig doing light janitorial things in two candy shops in Downtown Minneapolis. At no point was Hubbard’s method of washing windows used.

Around these parts, the local org is about to open. (Forgive me, I am going to speak in my scientology language.)
I think they have some plumbing to fix, an HVAC system to kick a few times. Probably will need to reg for some donos to pay for toilet paper and light bulbs. Screw the toilet paper.
Then the call-in begins. GET ON THE PHONES!!! But wait, there are fewer than ten staff. Maybe both day and fdn. What a flap!
But then, where are the public?? Its hard to get them to commit to anything. A ton of suppressive reasonableness. PTS sits to the max!!
Events don’t happen, really. Only the diehards show up. And well, they’re dying.

If someone (Valerie Haney) has to flee the headquarters compound in the trunk of a car then something’s seriously wrong with Scientology.

Did LRH intend for disconnection to be applied so broadly? It seems most members know about disconnection when they sign up, but never dream it will be applied to them. Has Scientology expanded this policy under Miscavige beyond what LRH wrote?
Actually, I saw your other article on disconnection. I’ll check it out.

LMR wrote, “Basically it’s run and hide and cut off any connections that one believes could be dangerous.”
I believe another common name for this tactic is, “Bury your head in the sand.”
This is an excellent tactic for the con man or con woman because it means their victims may well know there are many problems with the bullshit you are selling. But they promise to just ignore all of the problems and help you to collect the money and stash the cash in secret bank accounts where the vics can never find it or never have any hope to recover any of their money. Once a vic hands over some money to the scam, it is pretty much gone for good and that is the way the scam likes it.
This is a fundamental plank in Scamatology’s platform.

I have never had a problem with disconnecting from a genuinely evil person, but fortunately these are few and far between. I also believe that a close association with a person like this can make one ill.
I once found myself working for a person who was definitely a sociopath and I did become ill. After a very short time I found a new job and the illness almost immediately cleared up.
I do not believe that every time one becomes ill it is because they are connected to an evil person. In Scientology I have had some very frustrating times trying to locate a non-existent suppressive terminal just because I had a cold or some other minor ailment. Even when I was on staff, the couple of times I was ill I first went to the doctor, not to the Ethics Officer.
The problem in Scientology is that they get to decide who the bad guys are and it includes anyone who is critical of Scientology. Since Scientology has so much wrong with it, being critical usually does not mean withholds, it means correct observation and evaluation.
I was fortunate in that I never had to disconnect from anyone. Being forced to disconnect from friends and family just because they see the problems with Scientology more clearly than you do is a truly evil practice.

Do scientologists STILL pretend that they won’t get sick because they ONLY associate with other scientologists? As Davey-Boy has demonstrated time after time. most or all scientologists in the last 39 or so years are screaming DB SPs, unfit for anything useful — unless they have some way of getting MONEY. It might be SP money, but it spends just as good.
Zee Moo says
WISE is just another ‘Hubbard was the guru’ bullshit. Can anyone who bought Hubbard’s snake oil sell that oil? That is what WISE is all about.
Mary Kahn says
I was wondering recently how many scientologists would (have to) disconnect from a friend, family or associate if that friend, family or associate actually communicated how they (really) feel about scientology. Scientologists have a “shut up and don’t talk about it” stance about scientology in order to maintain relationships.
My son recently asked an aunt if they could just not talk about scientology (or his parents) because he loved her and wanted to maintain a “comm line.” So she’ll just keep her opinions in her head and he KNOWS how she really feels about scientology but somehow “not talking about it” will solve the problem. Just another example of how the church of scientology tries to put on appearances of how they are or how things are within the church but it isn’t what is actually going on.
“Disingenuous” is a very fitting word when it comes to scientology.
Marie guerin says
Mary , it seems to be the MO today , tell friends and family members that if they want to talk about Scientology they will be disconnected from . No more effort to handle , excuse or justify , just straight to threats . I know it from my brothers and sister . The sister who disconnected from me basically put them on notice. Shut up or disconnection . So sad but not surprising . Her daughter is ethics officer at Flag and she takes her marching orders , disguised as caring advice , from her .

Here it is. I have never done the PTS / SP course where one also learns how to handle suppressions.
But I always heard about mastering the ability to “shatter the suppression”.
Basically it’s run and hide and cut off any connections that one believes could be dangerous.
Now I understand! What an amazing tech!
So I must conclude that’s what is keeping David busy as he hasn’t no longer be seen, it’s because he is doing that: handling suppression, “running and hiding” and avoiding any contact with potentially dangerous people who might ask him for example about his wife.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
Originally LRH as I understood it had disconnection as a last resort when applying Standard Tech to the situation did not handle it. Now disconnection is about the only PTS Tech left. It is a lot less work to just disconnect or disappear. My ex just disappeared. No disconnection letter, nothing.
This “Tech” is no tech at all. It is just cowardice. It used to be that they sent staff and public to a doctor. Now they just send them to a grave. It has 100 percent success rate. But very few success stories. No complaints. Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Like DM cancelling the SHSBC and just getting straight donations for no exchange via IAS. Not what LRH said to do but it is less work.
Loosing my Religion says
Thanks Bill. Probably as you said at the very beggining was intended for a specific situation. However in my opinion hubbard became furthermore paranoic between end of 60s and begin of 70s. And this paranoia was transmitted in his writings. The current scn is a xerox of it but more extremized. DM is another story as he is a “tone 40” sociopathic.
Doug Sprinkle says
I agree their solution to any suppression is run and hide. When I walked around Big Blue a couple of months ago I tried to say hello to a couple of them and they would barely make eye contact. I think they are terrified of confronting anyone that might say anything negative about Scientology. The only one that would speak to me was the security guy on the bicycle.
