A very wonderful way of looking at things. I’ve had to restart my live recently (but due to deaths) so I will have to print it out and post it at home. Anything to inspire is greatly apricated.
what an inspiring quote, life is precious, life is one of a kind and should be lived in ways that reflect this. im so happy so many of you have found a wonderful fulfilling life after COS and i wish you all and your families the best for the future x
I grew up and lived in a different bubble for the first 40 years of my life. Leaving has cost me everything; but the cost of staying would have been so much higher.
Please put me out of my misery: who said that quote “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood?” If I say it to a few people I know Id best credit it correctly. Thanks.
I admire you all beyond words. With all your suffering you are wise, kind and upbeat.
Happy New Year,
Chris Noah-Cooper (not a Scientologist)
Never having been in, I can’t imagine how meaningful this quote is for those of you who were. It’s incredibly meaningful to me just as it is and as I am. Blessings to all of you in 2022!
The days after leaving were amazing, shocked that the big wide world was accepting even after I had denied the very existence of the world for the false construct of our horribly deluded bubble.
I was so grateful that family took me in even though I had denied them 30 years of trust and family bonding. It was truly God’s forgiveness through those who had no reason to love me but they accepted me back into their arms.
I remember packing up my old used compact car with all my worldly possessions and left the ea Org base for good. Driving away was so emotional and freeing. I told the cult handlers after all the leaving confessional, OSA legal document signing and other 9 months of menial labor in isolation (really prison) that I would be a good Scilon, get my debt paid off and get back on lines…. But as I was driving away I could feel those chains that had me locked down to be made from paper and had no more power over me.
I took a bit of time to find a new job. Learned to do resume and get one that I could use what I had learned in 25 years on the SO. Got remarried to a real person, now have beautiful grandkids who love their Grandpa. I’m living a life of peace freedom and serenity. Had to break free from the addictive mind-set through a 12 step group. I am now mentoring many people who have behavioral addiction.
Made a good living for the last 15 years and now have just retired. Plan to see the country and enjoy these beautiful years.
The regret of my life was getting deep into the cult mindset such that I hurt those around me who really mattered.
I hope to someday free the other family who are still deep within from the same destructive conditioning.
I was never involved in $cientology. Despite several years of reading this blog & many others, I still cannot imagine how hard it is for the majority of hardcore believers to find the courage to walk away and change their lives.
Beautiful quote.
I still vividly remember the first days after finally leaving the SO.
A sense of freedom and space around. No one who would come there to tell me what to do and always make me feel late on the latest emergencies to be resolved.
My life was only in my hands after so many years. There was no one left to create or scream for new hill 10s (serious emergency situations).
Either way it would go, it was okay anyway.
And then it went great.
Mike you are a really good person. This blog has really helped me to get out of the mental conditioning after 15 years of staff. Thank you.
(by the way, in case you make a trip to Italy you have ‘room and board’ guaranteed, with a house fully renovated all at your disposal just a few steps from the sea. No joke).
Thank you so much! I will make it back to Italy. Christie has never been and my memories of my wonderful times in Italy have made her insist I take her one day…
Absolutely she must visit Italy. I think the best times are always spring or late summer and early autumn. When the time comes, we’ll talk about it again.
I agree. The flow of life force allows us to change and change again if we only think we can. That’s why I admire ex scino people so much. They all do what Fitzgerald says above because they are al tough loving admirable people 🙏🙌♥️
Like the rest of you guys that are out after whatever you went through, I’ve been really having a ball.
About once a week, not that I’m trying to do this, I have the realization that I got myself out of something pretty deep and sticky. It’s always such a great feeling to have, almost every week! It’s like I won the lottery!
Those first few years out were tough, but it’s getting much easier.
Plus I have experience that helps me avoid stupidity that it seems others can’t avoid.
I plan on reinventing myself a few more times before I’m done here.
Another important factor that goes along with this – I did not get out alone. My better half went through her own hells and got out with me. I’m very fortunate in that regard.
We are just a little too old to start another family, but we are hoping for grandkids!!

This is one.

This reminds me of a Dear Abby.
A lady wrote in and said, “I always wanted to go to college, but I’m 65 years old.”
The response: “How old will you be if you don’t go?”
