Please, please write in about how YOU got out! This from a parent feeling stymied! If the so-called chruch [sic] pursues me do you know of any liability insurance, for example? Was your family able to penetrate the facade?
BaraV you don’t need insurance if the church “pursues you”. If they send PI’s just call the police on them for stalking while armed. A couple of face down on the pavement arrests and they’ll leave.
A maiden voyage is the first voyage of a ship after its acceptance by the owners from the builders. Therefore, the Freewinds never had a maiden voyage. And to make it a yearly thing? To quote my Uncle Mel: “Oy vey!”
Be that as it may, the attraction of attending four weekends of “events” on L. Ron Hubbard Way with the hidden agenda of extracting maximum dollars from parishioners, is not my idea of a good time.
Maybe that’s a reg with the gun? It is in an empty Scientology car park after all and his eternity is at stake just like the rest of ’em. Plus, he probably is hungry and has creditors pounding on his door.
If you always expect the worst from Scientology, you’ll never be disappointed!
That ‘in good standing’ thing will bite the CO$ in the ass when Judge Whittemore has to find 3 ‘arbitrators’ to listen to the Garcia ‘arbitration’.
As the LA clams have their next 4 weekends taken up by ‘briefings’ and ‘events’, when will they have time for real life? Oh, silly me, clams don’t need real lives, they have ‘postulates’ and ‘intentions’ to fill their days. And trips to ‘ethics’ too.
Interesting point zemoo…..wouldn’t receiving this robocall indicate that someone is in good standing?
So, if there is anyone out there who got this call and would like to be the Garcia’s arbitrator, let them know!
The Boheme (same ship) did have a maiden voyage in 1968 when it was launched. With Captains and celebs aboard it ran aground ripping out the bottom of the hull and some fuel tanks. I saw the repaired tanks when I worked there.
Oooo…sizzle pop, burn! So true… at least the guy with the gun demanding your wallet isn’t promising you imagined super powers or trying to get you to believe that you’re possessed by thousands upon thousands of space alien spirits who MUST be exorcised (at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars) in order for you to become spiritually advanced and free!

Wow. Did not see that end coming. As usual RB hits the nail on the head.
I’ve been told that the amazing news disseminated by COB is groundbreaking. Meaning the lies this year are monumental. The first event is tomorrow night. Can’t wait to not go.
It used to be there were so many “eligible to attend” they needed an invite often with 20+ OT8 completions during the MV. The numbers attending have dropped way down to where it is no longer an accommodation nightmare. In fact the last 2 I attended we had single cabins instead of quad berthing.
Off topic alert! I’ve just listened to Marty Rathbun’s ‘Leah Remini and her Troublemakers’ Part 3.
All I can say is it seems like Marty has some sort of obsession with Leah, Mike and Tony … or he’s being very well paid to slander them in this way.
Also, Marty refers to the fact that he texted Leah about a family therapy session (how she had shown such courage, but he didn’t agree with some aspect of it). He then goes on with awfully long diatribe of what he said to her and what her very long response to him was. If this is true, then they were very, very, very long text messages! If these text messages exist – then show them as proof. Otherwise they are just hearsay.
Marty also said that Leah (who he calls a narcissist) would ‘disappear’ for months if you said something to her that she didn’t like or agree with. If this is the case, then why would Leah bother herself to reply to his (awfully) long text …. after all he was criticising her?
If you listen carefully, Marty is contradicting himself right, left and centre.
And, to Mike and Leah: You are doing an excellent job! I never knew half of what I know now until I watched the Aftermath documentaries. I can’t wait for the second series to be shown in England!
I also saw the ‘Part 3’ video yesterday. And I suspect Mike is probably sick of hearing about it, I thought I would mull it overnight. I continued some research.
I accidentally stumbled onto YouTube videos of Mike and Marty on their ‘fishing trips’. The videos are quite funny and risque when they are talking about Miscavige abuses (I am sure it was not funny at the time!) during their ‘interaction’ (very loosely interpreted as I am sure the abuse was not pleasant).
One of the videos talked about the time during the filming of ‘Battlefield Earth’ starring John Travolta. DM was in direct contact during the daily screenings making pointed remarks about how to do this, etc through the film arm of $cn. DM thought it was the best movie of all time when finished (at the pre-release special held for DM and some execs). When the film tanked when released, it became JT’s (John Travolta) fault (because JT took money for his role there was supposedly not enough money for higher quality special effects) even though DM was directly involved in the movie behind the scenes during production.
The reason I went into this detail was to give background on this video story between Marty and Mike. Both look so at ease, Marty was very jovial, and both were having fun reliving these sordid DM details throughout these 10 minutes. The video was good but not the production quality Marty is now doing. Marty looked good, and was acting like a normal conversation between two friends joined by a common experience. Marty’s demeanor and overall look now, to me, is gaunt and looks like there is no fun in life, and complete 180 from just a few years ago. But there were some ‘seeds’ to later actions in this early joint video with Marty as he wanted to control the action with Mike, and Mike being good natured, went along and made the video flow naturally. And perhaps this was the agreed on format, where Marty took the lead in this story with Mike filling in details he recalled. But it becomes more obvious to me during the three or so other videos of this series that Marty wanted to be the head honcho, the big cheese, numero uno, etc.
Marty has full control of his facilities; I at first thought there was a real medical aberration. But Marty is really about Marty, and the accolades (which includes money) which come with being the big dog (I know I forgot another title above!). Marty felt he has lost that position. The best solution is to stay away from Marty as this will not end well for him as he has now thrown all his real friends under the bus because he is not recognized as the one authority.
As they say, this is subject to more data. I have not seen ‘My Scientology’ movie; perhaps it may alter my impression somewhat when I see it. And I really feel for Mike, Leah, and Tony and how they are trying to figure out what is really going on.
Mike, keep up the good and positive work you are doing. You are a guiding positive constant in this mess and will be one of those who bring the ‘imprisoned minds’ out of the hell called Scientology.
You make some excellent points here which deserve to be elaborated on!
Instead of getting caught up in trying to determine whether MR was coerced/blackmailed to make these hate/smear videos for the cherch, or merely paid well to do so, we should all just step back from the entire effort by the cherch to undermine, discredit and attack Leah, Mike, Tony, Karen (and I’m sure many more to follow) and ask: Where’s the supporting evidence for your scathing accusations?
If you’ve got the dox, then BRING the dox. Otherwise, it’s time to STFU and GTFO – to paraphrase that famous, cut-to-the-chase quote. It’s just as you say, “If these text messages exist – then show them as proof. Otherwise they are just hearsay”. Except that they’re not JUST hearsay; they’re knowingly false statements which were purposefully designed to dead agent those who’ve been successful in drawing public attention to the cult’s ongoing crimes and abuses. It’s straight out of the cult’s dirty tricks, fair game playbook, which Mike has so effectively exposed here on his blog in earlier articles that cite the direct Elron policies and memos which go into explicit detail on how the cult’s secret police should put into effect the fair game prime directive: “always attack, never defend”.
If there’s corroborating proof behind any of these claims, then why not bring it forward and use it to support the case that you’re so eager to make, Marty? But even more to the point: Why waste time on attacking the credibility of the messengers, when direct allegations of specific crimes and human/civil rights abuses are being made by those featured on Leah’s series? Could it be that there IS no exculpatory evidence to bring forward because these direct and specific allegations of serious crimes and abuses are true? Sure seems likely to me, given the ample opportunity to directly address them that the cult has had for some time now.
$cientology appears to have such a low opinion of their target audience’s capacity for critical reasoning that it assumes no one will notice that no amount of character assassination can refute the specific allegations that have been made against the cherch and lil davey in particular. If there’s objective evidence to refute those specific allegations, THEN BRING IT! If you refuse to do that, but just continue to try to shoot the messengers instead, then don’t expect folks who can think critically to go along with your genetic fallacy-based arguments (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_fallacy ) and ad hominem attacks. Folks who understand what a valid argument is based on aren’t going to chump for such lame and blatantly obvious deceptive maneuvering!
Does lil davey actually believe that his target audience is actually that clueless and poorly educated!!? It sure seems so, given the fact that they just keep doing it!
The bottom line here, with respect to this latest series of hate/smear videos, is that MR is now carrying the cult’s poison water and performing in exactly the same way as the coerced/threatened cult actors in the earlier hate/smear videos about Leah, Mike and those whose stories have been featured on the series. The only difference being that instead of looking cowed and fearful, MR’s demeanor and tone conveys supercilious arrogance, smug satisfaction and the look of mild indifference that someone who’s cashed in his chips and is about to walk away from the table with a pocket full of gold wears on his face.
Harpoona, I agree with you 100%. I love your always astute observations and knowledge.
But, in my opinion, with MR (Marty Rathbun) toeing the policy letters laid out by LRH and enforced by DM, you do not need any evidence at all to say these hateful/hurtful allegations.
Are there probably libelous accusations from MR prosecutable by Mike, Leah, and Tony? I would say yes but it does not push the real agenda forward which Mike, Leah, and Tony are courageously trying to get done: stop the $cn internal abuse, reunite disconnected families, and stop new members from joining this dangerous cult.
To me, it is amazing the ‘troika’ leaders have held their cool as well as they have but I believe they see the long game as the one to win.
Will there be prosecutions in the future for slander? Perhaps. That will be an interesting future.
“…with MR (Marty Rathbun) toeing the policy letters laid out by LRH and enforced by DM, you do not need any evidence at all to say these hateful/hurtful allegations.”
Totally agree with you there!
“Are there probably libelous accusations from MR prosecutable by Mike, Leah, and Tony?”
Yes, I believe there is, and what we’re now seeing here is an organized strategy to discredit and defame these three.
The cult is certainly acting as if it’s running scared, isn’t it. They’ve got quite a few significant court cases under way, with more to come for sure, so the return of Leah and Mike’s cult dismantlers series is just not “theta news” for them, I’m afraid 😉
HF – well said. What disgusts me about this whole Marty video thing is that now DM and cherch can promote to the still-ins (their audience), “See it was all a sham from Marty and Mike from the beginning, he’s finally admitting it, all for money. As we have said all along all those newspaper articles and TV interviews were lies, all lies, never was there a hole, etc. etc.” There is no turning back for Marty, he’s lost all credibility.
I agree with you, Ms.P that this is a bad deal for those still clinging to the cherch line of salvation. It will be interesting to see how many of those still in will believe Marty’s turn-coat revelations.
HF, well said, all of it, but especially, “Bring the dox”. Because if he doesn’t, he can’t. He proves he’s lying for whatever reason, his self-aggrandisement to feed his own ego, or a smear job for $. Sheesh, what a sideshow.
HF, between Mark Fulton and you I think you may have captured exactly not only the demeanor, but also the underlying thought process of Marty Rathbun. Particularly interesting to me is a comparison of his smear videos with his on-camera interview shown in “Going Clear.” In the documentary his speech is easy, flowing and effortless. In the videos he frequently looses his train of thought, fumbles his words and repeats himself though couching thoughts in different terms. When law enforcement note behaviors similar to these it seems to be a strong indicator of lying. We here know, obviously, that Marty IS lying. To someone who isn’t familiar with the circumstances and just views these to recordings it might be just as apparent. I regret I haven’t anyone on whom to test my theory. Finally I just want to thank you and Mark for clarifying some things that were only vague impressions previously.
There’s so much looking away, looking to his notes, gazing off into space, getting direction from off-camera there, and with so many lags and mid-sentence self-corrections throughout it that it just can’t be anything else but a poorly scripted and acted performance, covering almost the exact same personal attack points that all of the previous hate videos covered.
Thanks for your thoughtful and appreciative response!
Thanks for the reference. I believe your observations are so true of his hesitant speech and having to look at his notes. It still makes me wonder some about his internal well being but I really think it all about the money.
Marty is still a Scientologist or in essence never really left or maybe he wishes to create his own sect version of it. His conscience got in the way for awhile but with so many contradictions oozing forth in his dialog of his recall-able events and assumptions of the many ‘truths’ which never happened it’s getting easy to see the ‘Hubbard’ coming out in him.
To see this analyzing of his motives is like trying to put sense to Scientology policy. The massive delusions of grandeur he must feel to expect his words are of importance define him as a Scientologist imo. Like Miscavige he probably still believes people will believe in him. Oh my…
My stomach tightens a little just reading the words, “Maiden Voyage”.
Its a visceral reaction I still get similar to reading other words and phrases, to wit:
epic
unprecedented
monumental
vital
event
briefing
special briefing
confidential briefing
closed door briefing
you’ll want to
you need to
confirmed
reconfirmed
Just reading these anywhere, not only here, makes my stomach tighten a little.

Good one, Wynski. You have a talent for aphorism.

Subjective share:
My stomach tightens a little just reading the words, “Maiden Voyage”.
Its a visceral reaction I still get similar to reading other words and phrases, to wit:
epic
unprecedented
monumental
vital
event
briefing
special briefing
confidential briefing
closed door briefing
you’ll want to
you need to
confirmed
reconfirmed
Just reading these anywhere, not only here, makes my stomach tighten a little.

When lil’ Dave said the words “summer solstice” I then knew I could never hear those words again without cringing.
