“I think they need to find a way to keep WOGS away from the internet.”
Ha Ha Ha. David Miscavige must be losing his mind over the fact that the internet exists. LRH never saw the internet coming despite his supposed awareness of his whole “track”. What a failure of leadership, and between MIscavige and Hubbard, I don’t know who is worse.
And those poor, poor Sea Org members. A billion year contract. Imagine if that LRH crap was true?! Thank Xenu it’s all nonsense.
I am flabbergasted that these two staff members are having this exchange and STILL waiting for that bus!
Notwithstanding the myth of 10% brain power used by humans, these gents are well below that as evidenced by their choices – even while discussing facts that clearly show other choices should be made.
I’ve been out a long time – but is this really accurate? I sincerely hope it’s exaggerated with creative license. It’s just too sad otherwise.
Thanks RB. The references to ‘better food’ are very much on the mark! Org and Mission staff members also lived on next to no income. I once had macaroni and ketchup for supper at the Winnipeg mission.
The bad old days…so glad to get back to being a wog!
RB and Mike R, is it true that if Scn suspects you of cavorting with known SP’s that they take stuff from your pc folder and show it to your kids to turn them against you? I can see taking stuff from your ethics folder, but the PC folder????? Is that true?
I always wondered what the church said to my kids to turn them against me so quickly when each of them had said only weeks before, “Oh mom, everyone knows you’re NOT an SP…” and “I’ll never disconnect from you…” and yet it only took the church a matter of weeks to turn to where they did disconnect from me, the best thing they’d ever had. I was their terminal, more so than their dad, and they loved me and vice versa. It’s shocking that the church would be so underhanded as to feed them lies to get them to disconnect.
It is guaranteed that they take things from PC folders, or at least specifically sec-checks these days (as with sec checks “I’m not auditing you”) and use it to turn family members against “SP’s”.
It is quite sad to hear of another story so similar to ours Cindy. About a month or 2 before my son disconnected from Lois and me, I made him tell me to my face that he would NEVER disconnect from his family. They got to him just as they no doubt got to your kids.
This one kind of reminds me… way, way back many, many years ago when I hunted (to put meat in the storage refrigerators) I had to occasionally “finish off” the game I wounded, wild pigs mainly. With experience and reflection I eventually realized I got into some nutty mind games while being alone but in such a hurry to finish off the misery I caused to another creature. Covering 200 to 400 yards over rough territory took a bit of doing sometimes and you had time to think about what you had to do, let alone what you thought after you did it, relief mainly and the “joy of the kill,” but over time it got all mixed up with other strange negative type emotions. Thank God I don’t do that sort of thing anymore, those days are well gone. I just do my shopping at the supermarket and don’t give it a second thought.
Scientology staff are aware they are creating misery to their own people, so much so they are totally blind to how the world and humanity is now becoming aware of how they truly are and operate as a cult. The mind games they use to justify themselves, their mistreatment of their own members and families doesn’t have a ‘mercy action’ available or any sort of organisational closure, there is, “no end” to it. It all just gets worse and worse. Escape is their only option, but those who say in don’t have that sort of conviction of free will. It’s a brave act indeed to escape the mind games of Scientology after one has been caught up in its indoctrination process.
Organised Scientology is never going to self correct itself, it’s impossible. They use freedom and human emotions and values as bait, setting a trap with them. People like Mike and Leah plus many others are trying to get over that broken ground as quickly as they can to bring closure to the misery machine that organized Scientology truly is. The legally aware but organizationally experienced Marty Rathbun has just rejoined that misery creating machine… see how nutty it can get?
Hubbard twisted a lot of stuff around, but when he said, “Scientology is a deadly serious activity,” he wasn’t joking. Nothing even slightly funny about this one RB but it is spot on, as usual.
Fuck I hate organised Scientology!
“Those guys are trained to betray their friends and family without emotion. You might even get used to it after a while.”
Yep. GO was nothing like OSA. Oh, wait. OSA is GO on steroids, no matter what they say. At least in GO, we didn’t have the public betrayal thing because there was no video. We were more covert about the betrayal. SSDD.
Indeed, betrayal. A bit sociopathic possibly. And maybe revenge.
When I analyze his videos ( and I posted this viewpoint on his site but did not get posted) every single person he describes is bad and has no redeeming qualities.
The only thing he says, that has any modicum of decency, is when he mentions friendship or dis like or used to like the people he is trashing.
So what about this approach tells us about Marty?
It tells us he is emoting and not speaking from the intellect. How can all of these people he is describing all be made out to have no redeeming qualities. Not once did he crack a smile of nostalgia for a positive connection with anyone.
He is talking in absolutes. That means he is talking from his emotions and not his discriminating intelligence.
It is an impossibility that all of these people he describes are ALWAYS manipulating media for their own selfish ends. But thats his emotions talking.
He is using a technique he learned when life was better and Marty had more prestige and power.
Marty and his friends are applying GO/OSA dead agenting techniques.
It is so obvious that we have a few hurt ex GO OSA folks devolving back to a “successful identity.”
But throw all that speculation away; there is one obvious perception:
Marty is speaking from emotions not his discriminating intelligence.
A person who’s discriminating intelligence is functioning would never broad brush and generalize like he has done to all those he criticizes.
Marty is talking from feeling.
Something I realized while married:
Whenever anyone says,” you always” or “you never”, that person is expressing an emotional issue. Because no one can always be anything! That’s absurd.
But that is emotion. Something deeper is going on. I feel for him actually.
LRH created a world in which his unacceptable behaviour was accepted, even encouraged. Some of his teachings seem to me, like self- justification. He created mirrors of himself.
I think Marty is doing what he is doing first bc of the church pulling shoestrings but more importantly bc of his own emotions. Mike and Leah are doing exactly what he wanted to do and due to his own workings he was left behind sense. Marty is angry bc 2 years later he is a nobody in the fight against Scientology and it’s abuses. Mike and Leah are nearly household names in much of the US while Marty is nobody. Besides a few thousand ppl on the internet and the even smaller free zone movement Marty is essentially unheard of. He had every chance to be the third warrior in this fight but he chose not to for whatever reason
Wow you nailed this one on the head so perfectly. I do believe that this exact thing happened to my son who disconnected from me, including the video. Makes me sick. In fact he works for a company in Burbank run by scientologists who just happen to be 2 of the top guys who were responsible and indicted for the FBI raids in 1977!! He most probably is working for OSA now in a nefarious way while being an insurance claims adjuster for the company. Ugghhhh…….
No doubt about it………hard to even contemplate blowing the organization while under the ever present cameras and eyes and ears of those who would write KR’s on them…. ..
My prayers and hopes that what has been TAKEN from ALL of you, be returned soon. One day a “reckoning” will come….those who are still IN….either by choice or under the rule and thumb of the Kool Aid Brigade…..will come to their senses & return HOME where they belong.
Once Aftermath #2 hits the TV Screen….the house of cards is going to be shaken to it’s core like the Walls Of Jericho once were. The MORE noise WE make…the more the walls will shake and the IDOL with Clay Feet will tumble….it will be finger pointing time for those who have done great harm to other at the behest of ……
I truly hope that someday soon your family will be whole again. I just watched your story again last night and I get so mad, I have 2 kids and I can’t imagine one just never talking to me over a bullshit organization. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thanks again RB for giving many of us never-ins some insight into the mentality of folks still in. I would assume that most of them have to know that things aren’t necessarily going well with their objective of “clearing the planet”. But the promise that tomorrow is going to be a better day seems to be the main thing that keeps them going…..even though day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, that promised “tomorrow” never comes….
I hope they do talk to each other like this, and that they keep talking to each other about these things, such as the empty orgs, the loss of family, the bad food, the fact that they aren’t trusted to be able to handle “wogs”, etc. Keep talking, keep thinking, keep learning…..and get out while you still have plenty of life remaining.
I still use quotes from it. Usually because someone has done something stupid and they have no idea what I am talking about. “Speak in French when you can’t think of the English for a thing”.
Always read “Regarded Being”. I’m a “never in” but I get a real idea of what it’s like to be a Scientologist.
I think the best way to describe Scientology is like this: If you want a taste of what Hell is going to be like, join Scientology, it’s Hell 101. Take notes!
I wasn’t there. Was never a scientologist. I can never get a real idea what a scientologist is. I’m sorry to call you out. I’m not here to start an argument. Here’s an extreme example my son died from cancer at the age of 19. No sympathy please. You can have an idea of death. But the experience or feelings of your own child death is only understand by someone else that lost a child. Sorry I didn’t mean anything. Some other religions may seem similar but not the same.
I can describe what it was like to lose a parent at a young age, to have a religious experience, to see my desk catch on fire. If I do a good job describing, you could understand how I feel.
That’s the real meaning of sympathy – trying to understand how someone feels using your experience and imagination
Reading about scientology always reminds me of C.S. Lewis’s “The Screwtape Letters.” It was a Christian view of what hell is like. One of its slogans in the novel was” “consume, or become food yourself.” The parallels between Lewis’ novel and what goes on in scientology are quite striking.

And why do I speculate that Marty has a taste for revenge?
Because I have heard Marty, when upset with someone he perceives is disrespecting, on a few occasions say:

Basically that means that Marty will exact revenge on that person and make them feel very bad that they dared challenge him.
