Houston does have a Mission church. It is calling on people now to volunteer to assist. The group went to the dome for the last catastrophe and also were on the streets with other church members passing out bags of ice and food to lines of people. They gave lots of touch assists and listened to people for two weeks straight even when their own home had no electrical power. And Travolta flew his plane in with supplies. I’m certain they will help in any way they know how. All is not so black and white.
Right, “touch assists” and “listening ” are so helpful when your wallboard is rotting and there’s toxic mud in your living room and you have no clean clothes. I’m sure they made such a difference. ?
And it really put a person in the mood to read. I’ll bet they can’t wait for a cozy curl-up with Way To Happiness on their beds and easy chairs while they float down the street.
I just now watched the third episode. Balling my eyes out. It’s hard to conceive that this cult kills people. But, they do. And they don’t care…they’re void of any loving emotions.
I’m having to wait. It took me 2 days of tears to read Tony and Mikes post and only skim the comments. Hit home for me except I was the bad Mom who lost a son and a dad to suicide. My son is now listed on both Scientology suicide sites one with a link to the brief. I could at least now do that for him while I do what else I can to shut this sham down. This Tue I’ll catch up on the two I missed traveling … Boy did I need to travel and go on lots of wildlife walks. Leah and Mike kicked it out of the ball park. (((Hugs OSD)))
Yup. I much prefer to pay it forward. Grace, kindness, and compassion go much farther than “in-exchange”. There is huge value and benefit in unconditional giving. My family and I have brought a whole bunch of things to a gal in our neighborhood who is heading to Texas on Monday. These diapers, pull-ups, wipes, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, bras, underwear, socks, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, soap, tote bags, storage bins and more will go a long way toward lifting the spirits and hope of those in Texas. I don’t ever want anything in return. My prayer is that they will have what they need and every item is miraculously just in time.
I just returned from Costco where I bought the New PEOPLE Magazine with our favorite Lady on the front cover. Yes, Leah Remini is once again featured in a Great and powerful article. Go buy it and support her and Mike and A&E.
A truly inspiring article….she did what a good mother should do, like Katie Holmes she got her child (daughter) OUT of “the organization”…..Bless & Protect them both
It is very hard to watch all these news reports in wake of “Harvey”. But what is more striking is the lack of response from the celeb’s that are part of Scn cult and we all know they have a bunch of money. J.J. Watt Te Houston Texans has raised 10+ million awesome work. Bells are ringing, time is up for you David and your trolls. They say Karma is a Bitch your are about to find out.
Betsy, rest assured that the Scientology celebs will donate plenty,. They’ll be hit up for big bucks that won’t go to the Houston relief effort but into Scientology’s coffers. Of course, the cult will tell them that its going to Houston and of course, the celebs will believe that. Sad.
Oh but you underestimate the multiple ways this pamphlet can be used during a major disaster…..
–Toilet paper
—Cut up into pieces, have children reassemble (puzzle fun for kids who have lost their toys!)
–Add water & salt=high fiber, filling snack.
–put on top of head with masking tape for instant rain protection
–Roll up and use as telescope
–Lipstick blotter
–Tear into small pieces to make cat litter
–Spread out on floor to use in place of pee pee pad for dogs.
-Stuff into clothing for extra warmth
-Roll in tight bundles for fire starters
-Soak in water with Niacin–cancer cure
I could go on and on. Really people need to start showing some gratitude for these amazing, one of kind pamphlets that the church is so kindly bestowing upon victims.
I love this, it is so realistic. I can’t believe how far help can go off-purpose. It’s in the Dianetics book that the auditor’s pity doesn’t help the preclear…
The key issue with Scn’s lack of compassion & empathy has everything to do with members having been gradiently programmed to believe that everything seemingly at odds with LRH policy or “command intention” is merely “case” (aka HE&R) and therefore of zero significance. It’s not worthy of being “granted being-ness.”
There may well be some truth to the theory behind this but as with so much else in Scn, it has become all-or-nothing to such a degree that their precious PR has been kicking itself in the ass for ages now.
Absolutely anything that does not ostensibly contribute to “clearing the planet” and regaining “native state” is “case” and Dev-t. This may be workable in theory to a degree but certainly not in practice. Workable that is, in terms of making enough sense that combined with auditing “wins” etc, a person can easily come to believe that LRH and everything he ever said were 100% true and infallible.
Dedicated followers can, apparently, rest assured that they are doing the right thing by putting their full attention on LRH-inspired purposes (which is not necessarily a bad thing) via LRH-generated policies (which are not necessarily good things, nor as magnamimous as one might believe).
Scratch the surface and one will readily see that Scientology is a philosophy of spiritual gain via materialistic means; as though one segues naturally and stably from one to the other. At the lower parts of the bridge this does actually seem to work. The flows from one to the other are quite remarkable in fact.
But ultimately such fleeting perceptions fade back to “normalcy” while inspiring yet more dedication to the cause. If there really is a “”top of the tone scale” or a returning stably to “native state”, such phenomena are most likely not attainable through materialistic endeavors and certainly not through activities “below 2.0 on the tone scale”. You know, activities such as “-win or die in the attempt”… “This is a deadly serious activity”…”If you can’t graduate them with their good sense appealed to and wisdom shining, graduate them in such a state of shock they’ll have nightmares if they contemplate squirreling.”
Not that I disagree with such an attitude on a personal, ethical level; much better to go down fighting than to curl up in a defeated ball. This an intuitive response, IMO and is probably the exact same response DM and his followers have engaged. We must stand up for what’s right and good, even if that reflects the fact that this civilization is presently in the shitter. I know it and the CoS knows it. And I also know that is out “R”. It’s another “fight” rather than harmony & ARC. Harmony and ARC with the rest of the world are where Scn fails big time… thanks to its own policies. The core problem seems to be that within the system of corporate Scn, all sorts of overts are being committed in the name of “winning” and the “greatest good” and “clearing the planet”.
ARC is quite literally turned on & off like running water in the aid of raising stats, basically. The reg seems to like you cuz your cash represents his stat. He actually DOES like you, but only for that reason. ARC, mocked up ARC as a commodity.
But spiritual Truth, aka “is-ness” has become a casualty here and that again ensures that any actual spiritual advancement will have to wait. “Alter-is” is MEST, is lies. But “Truth” and spiritual advancement go hand in hand. A being is either in the Matrix or out, moment-to-moment. One is actuality, the other illusion. There’s certainly nothing wrong with spiritual aspirations, IMO. But in doing so with Scn one might as well aspire to walk to the moon. The belief that you’re getting closer and temporary rises in elevation become substitutes for actually getting closer.
I believe one of the most hypocritical statements in KSW1, particularly in light of how absolutely every Scn’gist is required to toe the line and follow “commend intention” no matter what, is this…”The decent, pleasant things on this planet come from individual actions and ideas that have somehow gotten by the Group Idea.” How ironic is that?
As I’ve mentioned before… “You can’t get there from here” definitely applies; certainly not as the organization currently exists. You may be able to glimpse it at times but you simply can’t get there.
I’m not one to discourage the spiritual aspirations of others; but I advice is to follow your heart with some other vehicle than the corporate CoS.
I called my friend the other day, an OT8, one of the top 5 ,big shot ,opinion leader, OT8s,here in Cw. I told him the PR with Scn is not good. Here’s how to fix it. Get ” COB” to charter a plane and load it up with supplies ,and send it to Texas. I said better yet get John Travolta and his 747. Make 2 or 3 trips if you can. Have ALL of this paid for by the IAS. I said tell COB to forget about his pissing match with Rinder and Remini. This is far more important .These people need our help. Forget about press releases, this will make it to the press. Its a win – win situation for all. He called back. ” blah blah blah , COB , ideal orgs. IAS , I shouldn’t say bad things about the church etc.blah blah blah.”
Great work Joetheta! Keep chipping away. The underpinnings of that thing cleverly disguised as a cherch is about to topple.
Yo Dave,
Can You feel it good buddy? Collapse is in the air!
Yo Julian,
Great job on getting the Daniells to sell their house. Yes, I know, it’s tough when they have a place right across the street from a flamer (that’s short for an ess pee). But at least you can thank me for sending them a buyer and besides, that should rid Tuolumne County of the last public $cientologist in good standing …..that I am aware of anyway.
But hey Julian, it should help cut the costs for Rod since he is on lines at Flog to get going on his Oh Tea six and seven. I know he is pretty pissed about having to continually explain to you how come we continue to have conversations but here is the deal Julian; I am not here to cause Rod or his family any grief. I don’t even go over to their house when they are there. It is all good roads and good weather. I think it is important to apply KCW (Keep the Cult Working).
You see Julian, this is because I know how you guys operate and I am sensing that you are circling the reg buzzards in anticipation of the pending sale. Applying this kind of pressure is excellent. It will likely cause enough stress that you might be lucky enough to break down ( I mean up) another under the radar family. And if you can’t break them down, at least leave them destitute Julian. Rod’s already had one heart attack (which you were clever enough to blame on the fact he was working for me) and if you are not careful, you are going to create some more of your typical cherch help ….. in the form of tradegy. I would ask you to stop but I know that is not part of your mod-us-operandi.
I’ll provide you with more info on down the line ……my second good buddy.
And ,an hour later I called him back to tell him that Sandra Bullock just donated one million dollars to the hurricane relief. Who has more $$$,the IAS,or Sandy Bullock ? Mr. OT8, still would not support the idea of COB, and the IAS donating to the cause.
You know, it would be my guess that IAS does not have that much money (on the books) and has likely been slowing siphoned off-shore. I cannot believe for one minute that this cult, built on lies and manipulation, is practicing honest bookkeeping. Sorry, it It’s incongruent to me. Jus saying…
JT has an old 707 and it’s not airworthy at the moment. Even though she flies the QF colors, they don’t pay for upkeep or maintenance. It needs a shitload of upkeep and though he flew it now and again, in the last few years, it’s been grounded (so say those F&M mechanics I know). But that’s not to say he couldn’t load up his private jet, TC could load up his private jet (sitting at SMO) and send it down to Houston. But that wouldn’t be keeping up with the IAS I suppose. Hell, charter a couple of tractor trailers and fill them up like the TV stations do at Christmas with toys for kids, here in the LA area.
I know one scientologist. He is public. He started in the 70’s. Why he’s still in is beyond me, because he used drugs and drank like a fish.
Oh well, thanks for more insight RB, you’re the best.
Expect no emotions, these lost souls have been trained to shut off their feelings and never do they return until the escape. And to use this national disaster as a donation scheme. Shame on you all in Scn, what a low low thing to do pray on the weak and lost. David your ship is sinking bow first, let me guess no life rings or rafts on board. I hope and pray that some of you lost peeps see this sinking ship, get off and run back to your families. Your families love you and will help you. Those of us outside of this cult care as well as your families. Remember ” this a no judgement zone” we can and will help. Helpful and caring in Seattle for sure.
I still have faith in a few of the still-in scientologists. They know the cold lack of compassion is wrong, and it is only a matter of time before they say, “screw this”. People are leaving in droves. Look at all the empty Orgs.
Should I do a KR on staff at our local org who are rallying round to buy some clothing and supplies for an old staffer who has had to go into a care home? They are clearly off policy and off purpose but have earned my respect this time round. Just like the hurricane victims he has no use for booklets.
Your note of kindness and compassion on the part of the org staff in the face of Policy violations caused me to remember a similar and gutsy decision made during WW2.
June 19/20, 1944 our carrier force located the remaining Japanese carriers in the Pacific.
The admiral ordered all 200 fighters to launch and attack late in the day. They sank one Japanese carrier and damaged another but then faced darkness and running out of fuel. The pilots started breaking radio silence in the black night and emptiness of the Pacific ocean praying and pleading for some help. The Admiral broke all of the rules and ordered his carrier force to light up the sky. Luckily no Japanese subs spotted the lights which would have made them easy targets. In the end 20 planes ditched in the ocean, out of fuel, and 80 were damaged in hard landings but only 16 pilots and 33 crewmen were lost. Lives saved by an act of kindness in the face of grave personal risk. Thank you Admiral Kitschner.
‘Human Emotion and Reaction’ HE&R… Feelings in scientology are not encouraged – just a dogged, robotic dedication to Command Intention – and more money.
I remember a discussion with George Baillie (an FSM reg and I think OT7 at the time), after my brother had been murdered in his sleep during a break and enter by a drug addict.
With all the compassion and understanding George could muster, he said (of my brother) “He must have been really PTS.”
Typical church of scientology empathy. Yeah, it was my brother’s fault for pulling it in, thanks for that George.
Fucking idiots, and I used to be one too, but never quite attained that cold logic.
That is such a sick, demented attitude that George had. I bet you felt like kicking his ass.
I was also in the SO but I never let that uncompassionate attitude control my thoughts or words. I remember a number of times SO members being offloaded or routing out of Flag, most people were mean to the person whereas I would tell him it was nice knowing him and wished him good luck. I also brought 4 beers to the chain locker when my buddy was imprisoned in it on New Years eve. And yes, I had 2 of them.
It’s true, actually helping people makes you feel good. The difference in the energy of the VM in response to Harvey is very obvious. Sad that Scientologists usually deprive themselves of this actually spiritual experience to uphold the ridiculous idea of proper exchange.
Thought this was a beautiful commentary on why Scientologists become Scientologists and how the church really. Scientologists vs Scientology. At least my perception of this dichotomy having never been in myself. My favorite RB yet.
Thanks RB,
Reminded me I was nearly as no symapthy that old SO b….th.
Took about 15 years of work but finally I am the reasonably nice guy I used to be before scientology.
Boy did that take a lot of work!
Let’s take a look at what is going on behind the Scientological Scenes with the “lets pretend to help” SCAM Scientology puts on their smoke and mirrors and Dog and Pony Show….so the clubbed seals will continue to “believe”.
They are pretending to care about “victims” by sending a few boxes of toothpaste and supplies….
“MEST” $cientologists donate for Hurricane Harvey victims…
Remember – Scientologists have been implanted to believe that Victim is low on the tone scale….and that the victims pulled it in!
here is a scenario between two Scientologists:
MARTHA:
“Gene – you have to buy a VM T-Shirt because GOLD Hotties are coming today to film us packing MEST boxes for those Degraded Beings who just don’t have the tech and whose ethics are out because they pulled in “Hurricane Harvey. Those girls are HOT, Gene!! And you have no 2nd dynamic! Maybe you can flow some attention units and create a Tu Dee for yourself!
Besides that – we have to do this now, now, now – to take the heat off of Scientology because Leah Remini and Mike Rinder and creating a show that is lying about our church and spreading entheta to the Wog World.”
GENE:
“Martha – are you kidding me? I donated my entire inheritance of $1,000,000 to the IAS so THEY could take care of these expenses of helping victims who pull in disasters”. I am fucking broke and filed bankruptcy for all the donations I gave $cientology.
What do I have to offer a Tu Dee? I am 53 years old and have nothing to give any decent woman out there. No home, no car, no money, bankrupt and alone! WTF Martha???
Furthermore, I am not even Clear yet and am afraid I will never go Clear now in this lifetime because I have no money and have been on staff for 20 years. I gave everything to the IAS and all I see is videos of a few people in yellow t-shirts giving touch assists to victims….
I have only done my Purif and TR’s….so I don’t get it….
Do I need to be OT to understand? What exactly does the IAS do with our money?”
MARTHA:
“It sounds like you are nattering Gene and I am going to write up a KR on you – now fork over the $20 for the T-shirt and make a pledge of $25,000 to the Ideal Org Building fund and I will consider not writing you up.”
GENE: (thinks to himself….that is it…something is going on here….I am watching Leah’s show tonight on A&E. I am going to find out what our Church Management is hiding.)
The SF Bay Area has FOUR ideal”churches” … Can’t COB just move one to Houston like they move francises in sports? (I mean … Los Gatos????? San Jose is right down the road fercryinoutloud!)
Yes, I had that epiphany awhile back that compassion and empathy are missing from the famous all encompassing Tone Scale. I think Hubbard was sending us a message.
Sanity is based on being inhuman.
Well Mr. Hubbard you got your wish. Except hard as you tried to turn us into uncaring androids a lot of us still stayed human.
Nice message today RB. There is still hope for the Borgkind in the cult.
I practice catch and release with epiphanies. They make a great thought lures for kind and compassionate people and their actions.
The Cof$ has only one epiphany and it’s enforced – sacrifice everything for the Church, now or else! Doesn’t work does it?
Off topic a little bit, but I’ve been glued to the tv & the Texas disaster. Amazing stories about all the different groups of people & organizations that are helping. Equally amazing is I’ve yet to see any people or organizations wearing yellow VM t-shirts. Just say’n.
Excellent, RB. How very much I would love to see such actions actually taking place. A scientologist with actual emotions and empathy? Would that it were so!
Why would you want to reward a pack of downstats like the Texas Harvey victims? After all, it’s their own fault they pulled the hurricane in, right? Unfortunately, the milk of human kindness went sour in the CoS at birth.

Six SO members expend 60 hours a week each one trying to bring 10 people to work in CF for 4 hours that weekend.
Those 10 people work just 40 hours.
In terms of efficiency, 360 hours invested in just 40 hours of work, really makes no sense considering the fact that not even 10 people will show up.
Thats why the squirrel WISE people are making on their own using common sense policy

And ,an hour later I called him back to tell him that Sandra Bullock just donated one million dollars to the hurricane relief. Who has more $$$,the IAS,or Sandy Bullock ? Mr. OT8, still would not support the idea of COB, and the IAS donating to the cause.
Teen says
You know, it would be my guess that IAS does not have that much money (on the books) and has likely been slowing siphoned off-shore. I cannot believe for one minute that this cult, built on lies and manipulation, is practicing honest bookkeeping. Sorry, it It’s incongruent to me. Jus saying…
amulbunny says
Alex De Valera says
So true as usual, and the expression of the S.O. woman … so telling. Empathy? Compassion? no way!
Old Surfer Dude says
Zero, Zip, Nada. Empathy & compassion have no place inside the cult.
Betsy says
Old Surfer Dude says
Betsy, they remind me of the walking dead. But they truly are Ronbots. They never think for themselves. They can’t because they are brainwashed.
WhatAreYourCrimes says
I still have faith in a few of the still-in scientologists. They know the cold lack of compassion is wrong, and it is only a matter of time before they say, “screw this”. People are leaving in droves. Look at all the empty Orgs.
zemooo says
Postulate kindness. Nah, that is out exchange. Bite me dead hand of Lron.
Old Surfer Dude says
‘Kindness’ is a dirty word inside the cult.
I Yawnalot says
Indeed it is. ‘Shown any kindness or compassion?’ is a sec check question in the Cof$.
Old Surfer Dude says
No bout a doubt that.
Gimpy says
Should I do a KR on staff at our local org who are rallying round to buy some clothing and supplies for an old staffer who has had to go into a care home? They are clearly off policy and off purpose but have earned my respect this time round. Just like the hurricane victims he has no use for booklets.
Old Surfer Dude says
I hope the storm washed all those booklets away…
jim says
Gimpy,
Your note of kindness and compassion on the part of the org staff in the face of Policy violations caused me to remember a similar and gutsy decision made during WW2.
Zola says
‘Human Emotion and Reaction’ HE&R… Feelings in scientology are not encouraged – just a dogged, robotic dedication to Command Intention – and more money.
I remember a discussion with George Baillie (an FSM reg and I think OT7 at the time), after my brother had been murdered in his sleep during a break and enter by a drug addict.
With all the compassion and understanding George could muster, he said (of my brother) “He must have been really PTS.”
Typical church of scientology empathy. Yeah, it was my brother’s fault for pulling it in, thanks for that George.
Fucking idiots, and I used to be one too, but never quite attained that cold logic.
clearlypissedoff says
That is such a sick, demented attitude that George had. I bet you felt like kicking his ass.
I was also in the SO but I never let that uncompassionate attitude control my thoughts or words. I remember a number of times SO members being offloaded or routing out of Flag, most people were mean to the person whereas I would tell him it was nice knowing him and wished him good luck. I also brought 4 beers to the chain locker when my buddy was imprisoned in it on New Years eve. And yes, I had 2 of them.
Cousin says
It’s true, actually helping people makes you feel good. The difference in the energy of the VM in response to Harvey is very obvious. Sad that Scientologists usually deprive themselves of this actually spiritual experience to uphold the ridiculous idea of proper exchange.
Never in Finn says
Thought this was a beautiful commentary on why Scientologists become Scientologists and how the church really. Scientologists vs Scientology. At least my perception of this dichotomy having never been in myself. My favorite RB yet.
xenu's son says
Thanks RB,
Reminded me I was nearly as no symapthy that old SO b….th.
Took about 15 years of work but finally I am the reasonably nice guy I used to be before scientology.
Boy did that take a lot of work!
Old Surfer Dude says
You threw off the shackles of Scientology and embraced niceness. Well done XS! Feels pretty good, doesn’t it? Welcome home.
Idle Morgue says
Komodo Dragon says
Of those of us in the WOG world could only wish for that level of clarity and forward thinking on the part of those still in.
Fernand says
Their is probably many scientologist and a church in Houston. They will help, No? That’s what a church does, usually, No? Hum!
Melanie Reap says
I believe the nearest “church” is Austin. That’s right, the fourth largest city in the US has no “church”.
Joe Pendleton says
The SF Bay Area has FOUR ideal”churches” … Can’t COB just move one to Houston like they move francises in sports? (I mean … Los Gatos????? San Jose is right down the road fercryinoutloud!)
Alcoboy says
They’ll probably keep the doors shut a la Joel Osteen, another religious Texan.
BKmole says
Yes, I had that epiphany awhile back that compassion and empathy are missing from the famous all encompassing Tone Scale. I think Hubbard was sending us a message.
Sanity is based on being inhuman.
Well Mr. Hubbard you got your wish. Except hard as you tried to turn us into uncaring androids a lot of us still stayed human.
Nice message today RB. There is still hope for the Borgkind in the cult.
Old Surfer Dude says
I had an epiphany once. Best meal I’ve ever had!
I Yawnalot says
I practice catch and release with epiphanies. They make a great thought lures for kind and compassionate people and their actions.
The Cof$ has only one epiphany and it’s enforced – sacrifice everything for the Church, now or else! Doesn’t work does it?
Old Surfer Dude says
Everything seems enforced in the cult. Which is why it is a cult and not a church. It’s as far away from a church you can get. It’s evil.
Roger Y says
Off topic a little bit, but I’ve been glued to the tv & the Texas disaster. Amazing stories about all the different groups of people & organizations that are helping. Equally amazing is I’ve yet to see any people or organizations wearing yellow VM t-shirts. Just say’n.
RP says
It is almost like Scientology is coming to a end
Old Surfer Dude says
Almost?
Peter says
Excellent, RB. How very much I would love to see such actions actually taking place. A scientologist with actual emotions and empathy? Would that it were so!
Wynski says
LOL, this is so true of scientology and scientologists.
Rick Pyle says
Why would you want to reward a pack of downstats like the Texas Harvey victims? After all, it’s their own fault they pulled the hurricane in, right? Unfortunately, the milk of human kindness went sour in the CoS at birth.
Python Swoope says
Yeah! Did CoS take up a “collection” when tommyboy cruise got hurt !
I Yawnalot says
Yep, they sure did and they declared war on shrimp everywhere!
