I think the OT is meant to confront the fart and “shatter and suppress” it. Unless you are a superior OT or a Big Being your farts should be nothing to the OT.
+1 – REALLY F’n stupid. Whether you’re in Scientology or not. And if you’re IN and you do that, what makes him think that it will never come out? DUH. He’s even doing a crap job as a Scientologist, “protecting the org”. lol!! Talk about thinking with your Dick Cavett.
I had no idea who Mike Rinder was. After watching the 1st episode of Aftermath and seeing he had been a “big wheel” and was now explaining how S’ology worked, I found this website. I didn’t understand many of the daily articles, but I could understand Regraded Being. I’ve spent many late nights reading the comments and gaining “some” understanding of the culture, teachings and abuses.
Now, after coming around for over a year (and watching all the Aftermath episodes multiple times) I realize this blog is geared toward Exes, but I’d like to offer a few observations and make a suggestion.
Freeloader debt was mentioned as a reason some fear leaving the cult. If Freeloader debt is truly unenforceable – couldn’t someone walk around their complex with a Sandwich Board sign with that info?
The “Fair Game” episode was brilliant and has effectively removed the Lion’s teeth.
Lastly, may I suggest adding a Glossary section. it would be so helpful to non-culters. I offer this paragraph as an example of what non-culters quickly experience in reading here.
Many years ago I was OETD and HSM. I had seen the Dianetics commercial and saw a book ATB. After looking at the little blurbs, I decided anything that promised as much as this book did, had to be some kind of scam. I didn’t buy the book.

Scientology is a prison of belief
Scientology uses “loaded language” as a tactic to keep members in – once you learn “Scientologese “ fluently – you will BE a Scientologist and THINK like a Scientologist. All cults use “loaded language”!
You can purchase a Scientology dictionary on EBay for a penny or two or check your local dump….. as members leave Scientology and put the books and lectures in the appropriate place.
Scientologists try to sell the crap but soon find out
Scientology has no value. I tried selling my 890lbs of Scientology SHIT and no one wanted it…..even for free….so I took the shit to the DUMP and paid $100 to throw it in a land fill! Smashed the emeter on the street! So freeing!
Scientologists can’t even give this shit away!
You could get in comm with the local mORGue…and see if they will sell you a dictionary….
But be careful….
Love bombing works …. when standardly applied….and Scientology is so desperate for raw ? meat…..
As another “never in” observer of Scientology (and other cults) I have found the members here and on several Ex-Scientology / scientology protest related forums to be quite friendly and helpful if you ask honest questions such as “what is a clear meant to be” or “what is an SP”; although they may occasionally refer you to the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section, if one exists; Something that should be noticeable especially on forums.
I get it this week, kids make mistakes when they’re young and do stupid shit like join the SO. They get to say things like Fuck for emphasis in conversations with adults. I get it.
I don’t get how people who claim high ethics can defend a sexual predator. Don’t defend him. Things like this are decided in public forums now. Judge now, let the authorities sort it out later. Fuck.
You wrote: “I don’t get how people who claim high ethics can defend a sexual predator.”
This is standard tribalism at work. Sure, it applies to Scientology but it also applies to the Catholic Church, Jehovah’s witnesses, fundamentalist Mormons and who knows how many other groups. It is currently the defining feature of toxic Christianity and its purity culture, and you are witnessing it happen with Christian leaders defending Roy Moore as we speak.
Ironically (?) the heathen ‘liberal media elite’ and the “whore of Babylon” Hollywood culture are the ones showing more moral leadership by cracking down on sexual predators than the so-called “good” and “godly” men of right wing religious culture.
Ahhh… the inner sanctum of ridiculousness – the communication between 2 or more Scientologists! Good one RB. You know, you give it all a satirical look but at the end of the day, you’ve done a far better job of examining Scientology than any legal system ever has, except maybe if Saul Goodman was involved.
Hey! Maybe SuMP could do a series, “Better call Blinky.” Now that would truly be Breaking Bad!
(It wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility that a series similar to “Suits,” could be created around the antics and disrespectful manipulation of religious and legal rights, plus the intentional creation of victims of Scientology via the legal system. The intent of Cof$ lawyers… what a endless source of material that would be. Marty would be a great character plus LRH policy/history & COB calling the shots from the shadows. The imagination could go on steroids with something like that – a very dark comedy indeed! Not for the faint hearted).
You’re definitely on to something there. I see it as a cross between Better call Saul and House of Cards. I’d even let Kevin Spacey work again if he could play the little big man part as if he were two feet shorter.
You can count on Masterson being handled by the absolute master of PR: David Miscavige. Just look at his handy work on Marty Rathbun. Wow. I can’t wait to see this load of horse shit hauled down the road by the Dean of Scientology PR.
Scientology: The Aftermath had an episode on Danny Masterson which they pulled on request of the LAPD because they said they were conducting an investigation.
Yeah, he’s probably trapped every way he looks. The cult has all his dirt, and will likely suck every last dime out of him before they toss him aside. This is the key… they WILL toss him aside. Scientology has done this before, and any person who brings potential embarrassment will be abandoned and shut out. Trust me though, they will try to suck as much of his money as they can before they inevitably turn their backs on him.
That is why he should ‘fess up, face the music, and then try to bring down scientology in any way he knows. He has nothing to lose at this point. Let’s see how brave and smart he is.
Scientology even turned their backs on the bravest soldier in their ranks, the wife of LRH. After falling on her sword, serving time in the pen for scientology, Miscavige made sure she never embarrassed scientology again. He will be abandoned, lifelong member or not.
I think that he would make a dreadful guest. Braggart and blowhard and obviously quite stupid, following only the dictates of his weeny. Being in Hollywood, did he really believe he was safe? A simple visit to a large grocery chain and reading the covers of the many tell all newspapers there should have triggered his survival instincts. Fortunately, they did not. Very, very stupid man.
It’s really telling that you justify this kind of objectification of women by saying that all men do it. That is exactly the problem, that men believe that there are no repercussions for their sexual behavior. I’m calling it out. It is degrading and disrespectful and makes women feel unsafe.
Bless you, Grok. As a woman of 57 – 58 in a week – I really appreciate your comment. You wouldn’t believe some of the women I’ve personally seen be subjected to this by men who were supposed to be their employees. The Divine Miss M? Check, though not by Geraldo. Cher? Check. Janet Jackson? Check! The exception was Tina Turner, whom I think took all the shit she was going to take long ago. #MeToo. I have my own stories.
So bless you for being aware and woke. Bless you for having the courage of your convictions and the courage to speak out when you see something that isn’t right.
Lots of us here, both exes like Yawn and OSD and never-ins like me, are dedicated to fighting the cherch. That doesn’t mean that language that devalues women or makes us into mere objects to please the het male gaze is okay. We’re all on the same team, folks, and we know where the fight is. Let’s all value each other highly and respect each other personally enough to knock off with the misogyny, ‘kay?
