So sad…… The lack of empathy and understanding. So many parents who have disconnected from their children have no clue and, it appears, have no ability to understand the far reaching consequences of child abandonment. The value system is so fucked up in this cult.
Then there is the old joke of the 3 marooned on a Desert Island.
The Christian suggested lighting a fire for possible search planes…Let there be Light !
The Jewish guy being practical suggested immediate search for fresh water and rocks and leaves.
The Scientologist sat on his butt lethargically. “I have no worries” he said “I am mid a large sales cycle and the IAS Reg (sales agent) will find me.
I remember those kinds of jokes circulated around. All funny. All harmless. Then the J & D policy came down hard and heavy, taking whatever fun was left in Scientology. No wonder so many people left. Scn was no longer a laughing matter. http://twistedcity.shugartmedia.com/archives-8.html
Obviously the cartoon man wants to speak with his daughter, but he’s too wound up with Scn beliefs to go with his own desires. I see that as the definition of being brainwashed – acting against your natural, honorable desire for family connection because the cultish group instructs you to do so. Outside of the cartoon world, I see hope that Scientology family members will reconnect in 2018. Powerful knowledge has been widely spread in the past year and a half, the fertile seeds are sown for a grassroots uprising within Scientology. I expect many will recover their common sense this year and quietly, without fanfare re-connect with loved ones.
Scn can’t afford to have a landslide of new SP declares on account of a few phone calls or personal visits with disconnected family members. It would hasten the end of Scn if they decimate their already-low membership – but maybe the end is finally in sight. The only thing holding it together now seems to be the raising and spending of money for useless empty edifices raised at the demand of the poorly educated, sociopathic, and paranoid cult leader.
And so we work………………… ! I have heard that Krusty may be on the freakwinds these days trying to get eligible to become an Ohhh Tea Ate. It’s is all rumor but lets hope they really work on getting her ‘cleaned up’ so she can be a true Oh Tea Ambassador.
Yo Samantha,
Perhaps a nice round number of 100 hrs of good old fashion sec checking will do the trick. That usually sofens up the prey enough to at least make them pliable after receiving their greatest gift from the El Con.
Or not ………. The night I finished that level I had a couple very powerful ‘cognitions’ …to differentiate from the bognition I had from doing the level.
1) I was a prisoner and my life was not my own. You see I had been instructed by my Dee of Pee, Geri to prepare my training line up for approval in exchange for her signing off my routing form to leave the ship. This was a set of courses I agreed to pay for and do and it would be monitored by the freakwinds over the upcoming years……along with being an ambassador and all the other crapola ………. none of it being my origination.
2) I would never ever be returning to that ship again. I still had not realized that it was endemic to the ‘religion’ I was in but thought it was an error being made by those on ‘bored’. Since I was at the top of the bridge so to speak……my postulate stuck!
So Samantha …………….. please recall that enforced realities just won’t work. They have to come from within the individual. That is why You, Julian, Cee Oh Bee and all of the rest of you that are blindly leading the blind will FAIL. Read your materials for christs sake!………!!!!
“I’m not going to validate that entheta by looking at it.”
Right. They won’t read it, won’t look at it. But still they know all about it!
There are way too many people who operate this way, and not only regarding info about Scientology on the internet.
People like this drive me nuts. Its hard for me to be around them.
Disagree, by all means! Have your opinions, please!
But when you agree or disagree and you haven’t even LOOKED, when you REFUSE to look, well, then I’ve got better things to do than listen to you. Like washing my hair or rearranging my scarf drawer. Scientologist, ex-Scientologist, “wog”, Democrat or Republican, good bye and good luck, and be sure and slam the door on your way out.
I think one of the major things that contributed to my decision to bail was getting threatened with “losing my eternity.” Did Scientologists have control over the eternity of others? What arrogant chutzpah. Such smug vanity. It was offensive, not to mention the epitome of megalomania. Them Scios is crazy.
So sad! And of course, there is no eternity in the cult of greed, just lies that become solid like rock in people’s minds. “ we have all the answers” “we have the technology” the tech to max credit cards and to sell a pie of sky. What a waste !
This is all completely accurate. I never understood the bubble view of disconnection until finally my son ‘disconnected’ from me, but explained that he was not really disconnecting (in scn Newspeak). He explained that it was me who was disconnecting from him by having left the bubble – the argument being that ‘if you’re not with us you’re against us’. The logic fell apart however when he cut comm with his two sisters who had never really been scientologists, as well as with the rest of his family who had never had any connection with scn whatsoever. These family members could therefore in no way be considered to have disconnected from him. Of course, logic has never played any role in scn.
Ouch! I had a feeling Nancy was their child early on. I wonder how many people that’ve lived this will end up sad reading this. Hugs to you all who are affecting by this! So terrible that this is a reality for many out there!
I thought of this, too, as I was reading this. This is their (the wounded) reality who still have family inside this cult, true. My heart breaks for them.
One time in the 80’s I had an ex-boyfriend and someone I had remained dear friends with for lots of years after we split up call me to beg me not to tell “them” he had been talking to me if “they” called me.
a. I understood what he meant.
b. I asked “why does it even matter?”
His answer was a stuttery “it just does, it really does”. That’s the best he could come up with.
“They” never called. I haven’t spoken to him again. His choice, not mine.
The sad thing is, I would probably have still lied for the poor guy if “they” had called because he was so scared for his eternity. Scientology really truly does that to people. It messes with your mind.
Valerie,
For the mind control to work though, the individual still has to be the one to decide they believe in what they are told, what they have read, etc.. That characteristic can be a very fatal flaw for many lives as it has been down through the ages.
Getting out of the mindfuck known as $cientology has really helped me see so many other scams that are being run on the peoples of the world by other peoples of the world. It’s what we do ….. sadly enough.
I hope both my kids inside do wake up and RB has captured their truth today. I have a child from my first marriage and a grandson who are JWs. They do not practice disconnection since I was a ‘never in’ but the apparent desire to believe is strong in the human race …. or so it seems!
The poor bastards do what Ayn Rand referred to as “blank out” when certain subjects come up. They simply cannot grasp the fact that they themselves have CHOSEN to be where/how they are…and what they cause. Neither Hubbard nor Miscavige have any power over anyone…unless the individuals themselves have given away their ability to choose.
I got in on my own determinism. I quit on my own determinism. What took place in between was a large series of lessons, none of which I regret.
I have a standard comment I say to many of my clients who are in recovery stages of trauma when processing the abuses done to them. I read it in one of the many books I’ve read in research. I always think of it when thinking of the nasty and incomprehensible behaviors of many cult members. It seems so appropo:
“Your dignity cannot be stolen but you can give it away”
RB, this is spot on. Been there done that. It’s actually sad. Scientology is an ultra orthodox cult. Those still in will hold onto their delusional world as long as they have enoug friends and family left to reinforce their brainwashing.
We need another milestone like Aftermath to take up the gauntlet. I hope it’s soon.
This one hit so close to home. Instead of being funny it is just sadly, true. I love how you captured the KA drinker’s attitude: “you brought this on yourself and it is all your fault, and how could you betray me by…BUT you can come back if you do the A to E steps…” Not an easy article to read, but so powerful and it needs to be read, must be read by all.
This one is just so sad. Scientology has got a LOT to answer for but the destruction of families has got to be number one on the list. My heart breaks for all the parents who are separated from their children like Mike Rinder and Mary Kahn. It is just so heartbreaking. This has got to be one of the most destructive and painful things that can happen. To be separated from loved ones. There is no good purpose a so-called “religion” could possibly have if it tears families apart trying to achieve it’s goal.
Sorry, this one just struck a nerve with me this morning.
Separated permanently, yet, they’re not dead, nor are you. All involved are alive and yet, being forbidden any contact at all it must be very much like a death, dealing with a death, like the grief one experiences over the death of someone, except it isn’t a death, except it feels like it is… I don’t have the words for this state of ongoing, unable to be resolved awfulness.
RB,congrats.2017 cartoons were great. 2018 starting even better.Jumping deeper into the pond and documenting the utterances of the last remaining pondlife.
