Oh. I felt he sold his soul but I thought it was blackmail, threats to family, or some kind of fear. I didn’t think it was the money. But makes sense in my mind now. That sucks!
Marty got rich from Scientology
He was paid off to attack other critics in exchange for blood money
Marty is a liar, turncoat, criminal con because he knows the truth
Scientologists in and out are messed up people and some have obtained levels of arrogance never obtained by man before
Especially the Oat Teas and high ranking officials
It is a common side effect of ex high ranking members to take blood money from Scientology in exchange for putting on a show that they have recanted and gone back into Scientology
It is simple
Look at the history
Google others
Vicky Aznaran
She was the last high ranking officer who obtained blood money
They go away wealthy
Asshole turncoats who live in silence while more people are getting hurt
Asshats in my opinion
It’s all about the money!
Look at the confusion Scientology spins about people
Once you know the tactics used to put members into confusion…
Well said, Ex Guardian etc. (Whatever happened to short pen names?) It is all about the money. But the thing that I also find so harmful is that once Marty and Vicki Aznaran and others who settled and took money from the church, is that now when a church member questions about what about this person or that case, the church can show them the file on that person and show, “See he/she recanted and is now singing our praises.” So then the questioning member goes off satisfied that their church is still the best thing since sliced bread. It makes the rest of us out here look like lying, cheating, bitter apostates when one of the former critics recants. It makes the church right and us wrong. That is a huge way to keep the flock in line. Even Laura De Cresenzo settled and took money. And so if a sheeple comes and asks about the lawsuit about abortions, the church could say, “she dropped the lawsuit against us because she knew she had lied and that she would lose.” That is the opposite of the truth. And that makes the sheeple even more strong in their blind faith in a corrupt “church.”
Due to the Guardian’s office areas of expertise (Accounting, Legal, and…), you probably know the answer to my first question. So… if I helped someone else win a law suit over 30 years ago, and then signed a waiver when they won saying I would never speak out about Scientology; is there a statute of limitations on that?
One other question. In my short time of visiting this site (finally, after escaping DM and the “church” in the early 80’s) I have seen the name Laura come up several times, but never with enough information for me to figure out exactly who this person is. I worked with and “mentored” (a then, young girl) at CMO PAC circa 1980. Do you know, is the Laura people talk about ex CMO?
I remember when I was in, drinking the KA deeply. The way the church “dead agented” LRH’s son, L Ron Hubbard, Jr,, who later changed his name to “Nibs,” was to say that “he later recanted.” So all the things Nibs exposed LRH for, his underhanded dealings, his conning of people re the religion etc, this was retracted by Nibs. The church used that to the hilt to handle any in the fold who questioned it. It was a way to dead agent Nibs while totally shutting the door on any idea that Hubbard did anything wrong ever. In return for money, Nibs agreed not to talk anymore about LRH or Scn. Nibs had just undergone medical surgery and the bills were huge, he was pressed for money and signed the agreement with the church under financial duress, according to Jon Atack’s book.
This is why I am hoping that Leah and Mike will have something on Aftermath show about the gag order that all must agree to when they settle for millions from the C of $. Here is the documentation from Wikileaks below:
“In A Piece of Blue Sky former Scientologist Jon Atack writes:
Nibs accepted a financial settlement from the Scientologists after his father’s death in 1986, agreeing not to make further comment.[14]”
Oops correction here: Ron Hubbard Jr changed his name to “Ron deWolfe” and not to Nibs. The latter name was a nickname that LRH called him by as a kid.
Hi Ctempster. Your name is a little scary, please define…
I was “brought aboard” very shortly after DM came to CMO SU. I was very young and very new to Scientology. I befriended R’s youngest (and very nervous) son. Only because I was a “night messenger” and so my schedule was the opposite of the “base”… He would wait until all “base personnel” were at lunch before coming outside to paint (for his father). That happened to be when I was waking up from my 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Messenger shift to then start my day-shift (’cause, you know, everyone must work for 16 hours…)
I was later relocated (due to the fiasco my parent’s caused that “blew” the La Quinta SU Base location) to CMO PAC in LA.
As a part of DM’s take over, he offloaded Arthur of course!
CMO, This is so interesting. Would love to hear more when you’re up to it.

HI CMO Lost, Thanks for sharing a snippet of your experiences in the early days with LRH, DM and Arthur Hubbard. Would love to read more when you’re ready to tell it. Get my private email address from Mike and I’ll tell you the story of my scary name.
CMO Lostsays
Hello again Ctempster,
Thank you for your comment reply. I have been fighting with GMail for the last 30 minutes. I think I need a better (and more private) email service!
EGOC, I genuinely appreciate that clear explanation. I totally get it now. And it’s heartbreaking! I hate that they can use that on the still ins!! As far as Laura in my opinion that’s still a victory. However I’m still learning and trying to understand as much as I can. But I’m trying to keep fighting the good fight as best I can.
A (very) few of the philosophy’s and concepts I learned so many years ago, aren’t so bad… like “The way out, is the way through!” And thanks for your comment back to me 😉 Appreciated!
Of course! Showing love through sex is not allowed now, right?!! Unless you are DM who never wanted children… He initially loved Shelly because she was the highest ranking Messenger – NOT!!!! And they slept in separate beds back then – NOT!!!! Then when tired of her, had her locked up… apparently way more times than the initial lock-up I witnessed her being hauled to 🙁
You know…. the one(s) that are sec checked within an inch of their lives. Sex is money to the Cof$. Extracting money because of it is one of their more successful clandestine operations.
That’s what I was going to say! I don’t know what I would do first kill him or get a divorce lawyer but I sure would be packing my bags as soon as we got back to the house. Or kicking him out.
this method small print misses point to hard to read.
it is not cartoon Buggsy donations costs using tuition funds LARGE PRINT the point is not to look at two people in car…..the hidden message deep inside small print……COST OF Scientology gifts donations etc.
anyway doubtful this will change. GET back on TV Mike with LEAH
All I can think is he can’t see to read it. I used to not be able to read mine because they were blurry. But I can see them clearly now. When I read that I thought “blurry” ?? Lol
Wow, I think back on the first email RB posting till now. Those still in the cult are truly the completely programmed and fully indoctrinated Sciebots. Crazy people.
Baby you’ve come a long way. Thanks RB and special thanks to Mike, Leah, Tony and all those others who have continued to expose the toxic organization.
Like I say, they truly are, The Walking Dead. They don’t have to think at all. Higher ups will tell them what to do. And by God, they better do it. Insane.
It’s astounding that they have a car… or a home to return to after the regging event. Both of those are distractions from the deadly serious job of “Clearing The Planet”(tm). For that matter, so is their 2D….
When I was in, I didn’t have many hatreds about the cult, but I did have a few. The thing I hated most about the cult, even more than having to attend events, was being made to feel GUILTY for spending money on myself.
Clothes, fixing up my apartment back in the day, God forbid, a vacation. Guilt!
And I’ve never been much of a shopper. I came from generous people. My parents were very open handed with me.
Yet I always knew that “things” did not, would not, necessarily buy me happiness. I always had a very strong sense of that!
Yet, in the cult, at some point, when I needed things for myself, wanted things, the concept clearly communicated was that ANYTHING purchased that could instead be put the Bridge or towards some straight donation was…how do I communicate this?…something bordering on a CRIME. Yes! Mildly criminal. Not criminal, exactly, but, in some way… criminal…
Difficult to explain! Maybe it was just me, because no one, no staff member or even SO member actually TOLD me this!
I have thought about that a lot Aqua. Hearing Leah talk about not taking vacations, etc. I’m by no means an extravagant person, but I would strongly resent not being able to treat myself well! It’s to important for a healthy mind and body. And what you said the other day about not paying your bills! That would kill me. The stress alone! And how irresponsible. If anything had interested me if would have been going up the bridge. Lol But I could never deal with the constant donations while it would be better spent on home and family.
from my view this “martyr for the cause” state of mind was an overall part of the entire culture of scn.. it was built by the KSW policy, coupled with the policy, “Safeguarding Technology” the one about “other fish to fry” and “bowling, horse racing” –
Just those alone lay the foundation of priority and guilt….. then you have the culture wherein when someone donates heavily, buys their bridge, gets a loan and buys a training package – they’re lauded and made much of. These are “the upstats” “the able”
In scn you are admired and rewarded with attention and fellowship by your contribution, training, and auditing level… these things are not given when you waltz in with a new coat, a new car, and so on. If you are NOT OT VIII and Class VIII, why are you spending money on MEST?
“wrong priority” “needs conditions on dynamics” “PTS to the Middle Class” (include that with the above polices) …
You weren’t alone, you didn’t make it up in you mind on your own.., we swam in the ocean of “sacrifice to the cause to get up the bridge and save the planet”, nothing in MEST matters, etc…
I saw people selling their cars – their only mode of transportation – to then donate those bucks immediately to the IAS. I saw people donate the next 3 months worth of rent money and then become homeless… Kids in raggedy clothes and Mum’s on staff making nothing…
The group and purpose is all and the individual is nothing.
All this for something that is a poor excuse for pop psychology. Scientology achieves nothing for the epic sacrifice of people’s lives. There have been plenty of ill-advised wars and lost causes out there, but Scientology is down there only a few rungs up from bottom.
Consider if the Scientologists had instead devoted themselves to a real religious order, serving in their countries’ military, or even worked for a charity. All are about self-sacrifice, but gnerally is actually accomplishing a goal. Imagine if all of the Sea Org in the US had joined the Coast Guard and were off saving lives and stopping human trafficking? Imagine if the Volunteer Ministers had instead worked with the Red Cross?
My thanks to all of you who responded to my “felt guilty” comment. It helps to know that I didn’t just pick up that guilt out of the ether, and that I wasn’t alone in harboring the absurd guilt and defensiveness I’d feel after buying myself a sweater or something!
Today, as I look at this analytically, as I observe this behavior in retrospect, with an objective viewpoint, as an Outie and not a Still Innie, I’m amazed!
Was I freaking crazy or something? (Short answer: Yes.).
I could just as well have felt guilty about not donating that $40 or $50 I spent on a couple of sweaters to a charity that feeds starving children. Or an organization that shelters people left homeless by hurricanes and tornados and forest fires. Or or or or or…
I’m also thinking that some of this guilt – not all of it, but a portion of it – is purely of my own manufacture, having nothing to do anything, not even Co$ (even though they might have played on it.) I’m thinking that because all my people – my parents, whom I lost early, and then other relatives who took care of me afterwards – since all of them were so generous with me, though none of them were rich – yet they were so giving – that I have guilt about that, like that I didn’t deserve to be given so much, that I never “earned” it, instead, I was just THERE, kind of, and just THAT made them happy and want to keep giving me things…oh, well, its complicated, and I digress.
But thanks again, my friends, because not only do I laugh and heal here, but I always learn something too: I always acquire a bit more knowledge or insight, in one way or another, because of what I read here, and that’s so valuable.
GUILT TRIP……Plain and simple Aqua……make YOU feel guilty for wanting items for yourself instead of pissing it away handing it off to THEM when THEY have done nothing to earn it. Many religions do the same thing as in “Hey don’t you want to help others” & then expect you to sign a pledge to donation X amount of money to the Church….money that would be better spent providing for your own family.
With COS you don’t really have the money, and anything you do earn by hours and hours of work, they guilt trip you into “donating it to the cause”….to move higher and higher deeper into the farce of “the bridge”..
There will NEVER, let me repeat…NEVER be a so called “Clear Planet”. There are millions of people with different religious beliefs & morals to prevent that from ever happening. It’s a fairytale that the organization has suckered very lovely people into believe similar to the 1960’s Hippie Generation…you can Save the World with Love & Peace…..1960’s & those same Hippies are STILL waiting for the “Love & Peace” to happen.
Those still ins are aging fast….they’ve no resources for their future elder years to care for themselves & continue to hand over everything they’ve got for….nothing. The “newbies”….the ones not in by CHOICE, put in by their parents are the “new generation”….they’ll drink the Kool Aid until the well runs dry….
My dear Aqua….never doubt yourself…you SAVED yourself & I am so proud of you!
Deluded thinking is delusional. With less then 20k $cientologists left on Teegeeack (you can’t spell Teegeeack without the ‘geeak’) how long can the current infrastructure be maintained? Hell, how long can the staff and Sea bOrg get their pay?
When I started in Scientology, events were local and rather small affairs. There was no heavy regging.
At the time I left 12 years ago, they would have some new release of CDs or something at events that attendees were expected to buy, but this would only set you back a couple of hundred dollars or so.
If it is really like this now I am so happy to be out.
Me too. And for all that my business did well when I was in, I used to always be broke. Since leaving, almost from DAY (I swear) after I left, I haven’t been broke since! I never worry about money anymore, whereas when I was in I was ALWAYS worried about it!
So true RB. And so sad. It makes you want to cry for the wife and slap the husband. God, I hope they don’t have children, but if they do, they will lose them through disconnection. How uncivilized and downright suppressive can this cherch get?
Oh my … the most efficient and successful brainwashing ever. The more you are entrapped the more you justify it but if it all goes wrong it is your fault and you take responsibility for it. The hamster wheel of scamology, the only thing Hubbard succeeded in.
Thanks RB,
This cartoon probably describes thousands of couples.
Secretly hoping that a couple of dozen OTR will read it and maybe come up to present time.
I would like to indicate that you totally have wrapped your mind around Scientology and Scientologists with TOTAL CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING and have the uncanny ability to duplicate it with insouciant knowingness.
Your ability to communicate the data back to us and add some Joking and Degrading in there….is very Oat Tea.
Very Well Fricken Done!
RB – we love you….you are hysterical!
You help erase the engram that IS Scientology…. for real.
We blow charge each and every week with chunks of our Scientological Case coming off.
Thursdays have been a trigger for PTSD….but now after years of RB’s work…we have nothing but Floating Needles and Tone Arms flying off the meter.
Agreed.RBs cartoons get the sheeple to spot the SP wolf.
It gets recovering Kool Aid drinkers to peel the onion how they were taken for a sucker.
i would recommend ex staff the “RB Rundown”(reading 100 or so RB cartoons) to spot the false data.

Ex Guardian Office Cringing says
Spot on! CTempster
Well put
At least Debbie Cook and Marty Rathbun did some SERIOUS damage to the cult prior to accepting the blood money gag Order
Scientology will never recover
Even Laura did some damage
And for that…..we thank you
CMO Lost says
Hello Ex Guardian Office Cringing,
Due to the Guardian’s office areas of expertise (Accounting, Legal, and…), you probably know the answer to my first question.
Do you know, is the Laura people talk about ex CMO?
ctempster says
Ann Davis says
Thank you for that fascinating info! I had no idea about that. Wow!
ctempster says
Oops correction here: Ron Hubbard Jr changed his name to “Ron deWolfe” and not to Nibs. The latter name was a nickname that LRH called him by as a kid.
CMO Lost says
More later…. hard to talk about 🙁
Ann Davis says
CMO, This is so interesting. Would love to hear more when you’re up to it.
ctempster says
HI CMO Lost, Thanks for sharing a snippet of your experiences in the early days with LRH, DM and Arthur Hubbard. Would love to read more when you’re ready to tell it. Get my private email address from Mike and I’ll tell you the story of my scary name.
CMO Lost says
Hello again Ctempster,
Thank you for your comment reply. I have been fighting with GMail for the last 30 minutes. I think I need a better (and more private) email service!
Ann Davis says
EGOC, I genuinely appreciate that clear explanation. I totally get it now. And it’s heartbreaking! I hate that they can use that on the still ins!! As far as Laura in my opinion that’s still a victory. However I’m still learning and trying to understand as much as I can. But I’m trying to keep fighting the good fight as best I can.
CMO Lost says
You go girl!
A (very) few of the philosophy’s and concepts I learned so many years ago, aren’t so bad… like “The way out, is the way through!” And thanks for your comment back to me 😉 Appreciated!

Romance, Scioland style.
Old Surfer Dude says
What…they always have to use the missionary position?
MJ says
Yes, and of course oral sex is right next to verbal tech.
CMO Lost says
Of course! Showing love through sex is not allowed now, right?!! Unless you are DM who never wanted children… He initially loved Shelly because she was the highest ranking Messenger – NOT!!!! And they slept in separate beds back then – NOT!!!! Then when tired of her, had her locked up… apparently way more times than the initial lock-up I witnessed her being hauled to 🙁
I Yawnalot says
Depends on what the checksheet states. Then again, pink sheets are kind of a touchy area, so yeah, you might be right – standard missionary it is.
MJ says
Would doggy style get you sent to cramming or ethics? Inquisitive minds want to know!
I Yawnalot says
Now you thinking like a Scientologist!
Donna says
Terribly sad sad sad
MJ says
Can you imagine what their sex life is like?
Rick Pyle says
Sure. He’s rehabbing all his old Wins while she’s mentally figuring out what bills they can pay that month!
Old Surfer Dude says
Ummmm…what sex life?
I Yawnalot says
You know…. the one(s) that are sec checked within an inch of their lives. Sex is money to the Cof$. Extracting money because of it is one of their more successful clandestine operations.
Xenu's Son says
Scientology 2d is an oxymoron.
MJ says
David Miscavige is a foxy moron.
Old Surfer Dude says
An Oxymoron is a stupid steer.
MJ says
When Dave is near bullshit appears.
I Yawnalot says
He’s the ecclesiastical leader of Scientology. Think about that for a moment…
White Rabbit says
Leave him now!

That’s what I was going to say! I don’t know what I would do first kill him or get a divorce lawyer but I sure would be packing my bags as soon as we got back to the house. Or kicking him out.

And never go back.

Would someone kindly translate the above into English for me, please? Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.
Ann Davis says
All I can think is he can’t see to read it. I used to not be able to read mine because they were blurry. But I can see them clearly now. When I read that I thought “blurry” ?? Lol
BKmole says
Wow, I think back on the first email RB posting till now. Those still in the cult are truly the completely programmed and fully indoctrinated Sciebots. Crazy people.
Baby you’ve come a long way. Thanks RB and special thanks to Mike, Leah, Tony and all those others who have continued to expose the toxic organization.
Old Surfer Dude says
Like I say, they truly are, The Walking Dead. They don’t have to think at all. Higher ups will tell them what to do. And by God, they better do it. Insane.
Ann Davis says
I truly can’t imagine not WANTING to think for yourself!
Ann Davis says
I second that Thanks!!!! I’m having gratefulness today!
jere Lull (37 years recovering) says
It’s astounding that they have a car… or a home to return to after the regging event. Both of those are distractions from the deadly serious job of “Clearing The Planet”(tm). For that matter, so is their 2D….
Aquamarine says
Jens TINGLEFF says
that is the prison of the mind.
Recommended reading: “Opening Minds: The Secret World of Manipulation, Undue Influence and Brainwashing” by Jon Atack
Ann Davis says
I have thought about that a lot Aqua. Hearing Leah talk about not taking vacations, etc. I’m by no means an extravagant person, but I would strongly resent not being able to treat myself well! It’s to important for a healthy mind and body. And what you said the other day about not paying your bills! That would kill me. The stress alone! And how irresponsible. If anything had interested me if would have been going up the bridge. Lol But I could never deal with the constant donations while it would be better spent on home and family.
Rip Van Winkle says
…I understand…and had similar guilt feelings…
from my view this “martyr for the cause” state of mind was an overall part of the entire culture of scn.. it was built by the KSW policy, coupled with the policy, “Safeguarding Technology” the one about “other fish to fry” and “bowling, horse racing” –
The group and purpose is all and the individual is nothing.
omegapaladin says
Aquamarine says
Ann Davis says
Aqua, Echo your last paragraph. Or maybe I duplicate you. Lol But I learn and heal here daily as well.
Ann Davis says

Balletlady says
Aquamarine says
I am once again the recipient of your kindness and understanding, Balletlady. Thank you.

Gosh!
Old Surfer Dude says
Feels pretty good, doesn’t it Cavalier? Leaving Scientology was such a rush for me! I couldn’t stop smiling.
Aquamarine says
Me too. And for all that my business did well when I was in, I used to always be broke. Since leaving, almost from DAY (I swear) after I left, I haven’t been broke since! I never worry about money anymore, whereas when I was in I was ALWAYS worried about it!

Very Well Fricken Done!
