These are my favourite read. Yes it seems they have rules upon rules so no-one will realize that this is one big money con. If they do eventually realize this there are rules that do not really allow them to confront or go after Scientology for the return of all of ,the money they gave to this cult. I have not been receiving my daily news from Mike. Is anyone else having this problem? I miss it so much.
Great one RB! In Scientology there is so much structure and rules around making sure no one on the lower levels knows anything about the upper levels. So, if a lower level person (PC) does hear something accidentally about a higher level on the news, then they are supposed to be audited ONLY by an OT III or higher.
Any Newbe who has heard of Body Thetans, etc… in the news and then tries to buy auditing at a local org, will have to get himself an OT III auditor (very rare at Orgs) to audit them because the cherch can’t let the upper level news spread to other lower level auditors in their HGC (where people get auditing).
Getting an upper level auditor for a lower level PC because he heard about Body Thetans is a highly technical point, but it has got to be a real, real big internal problem for Scientology They are trying to contain A & E’s Aftermath information and make sure it does not enter the local org. So, people getting auditing on grade zero that have read about the upper levels in the news CAN’T keep it a secret from their lower level auditor…. it’s sort of complicated problem that might deserve a RB cartoon of its own to explain it? But, having been the HCO Area Secretary at AOSHEU (ADVANCED ORGANIZATION & SAINT HILL EUROPE.) in mid 1970’s, and I would have no idea how a local Org can admit ANYONE to their ranks that has read about Body Thetans, etc…
This clear “cog” is a “positive thinking” process where you (as a PC) just believe you are happy instead of believing you are unhappy. In effect, you are convinced that you were unhappy because you believed you were unhappy and now that you believe you are happy you will, in fact, be happy. Fostering this delusion in neurotic patients is a valid therapy for any neurotic, but hardly more permanent than faith healers who do the same to “make cripple people walk on the stage and be cured” but they can’t walk when off camera…. so it is with “clears”, they can walk up on stage to get their Clear Certification but collaps without more “love bombing” from the Scientology cult regging them for their life savings to get to the eventual next step: OT VIII where you become an immortal god but actually just learn you were mocking it all up all the way to OT VIII.
Hi MasterShake. I’m a never-in myself, so I understand. Used to drive me nuts, but I’ve gotten used to it. Sometimes I look it up; sometimes I don’t bother. I have this site bookmarked for looking things up: http://www.bible.ca/scientology-dictonary-terms.htm
I believe regraded being is a play on degraded being, which Hubbard like to call one of the sets of people he didn’t like (forget which). Not-is means something like willing enemies into supposed non-existence, I think. WOG stands for “worthy Oriental gentleman” but it’s just that kind of contemptuous racism that smacks of fake gentility. It’s what Scientologists call non-Scientologists, because they’re so opposed to hate speech and so in favor of human rights.
Not-is is more like ignoring something. The terme is linked to as-is which is seeing something as it really is specially in auditing at which pout it vanishes (painful past experiences) Wog was used as you state by the English upper class in the days of the empire, but it was also used by the US Navy for seamen who had not crossed a certain parallel. There are rites and ceremonies linked to this crossing and references to Neptune. Clams think wogs are dead in their heads, have no ethics, are unreliable and ignorant.
In “auditing” (counselling) it’s assumed that “incidents” (negative memories of the past) have mental mass. In the physical universe not two things can occupy the same space at the same time. So by looking at and recreating an incident exactly “as-is” (exactly as-it-is) the mass cancels out and no longer has an effect on you. The alternative is to make believe it doesn’t exist which is not-ising it.
What I’ve done here is given you “verbal data” which is a “flunk” since it may be partially or totally incorrect. This is the reason for the standard reply to questions being “What does the material state?’ which in this case would be the Scientology Technical Dictionary if it still exists or Miscavige hasn’t “squirreled” (altered) it.
Only several hundred more words and terms to go. AARP says we should keep our minds active so learning scn-speak might be a worthwhile activity.
The blog used to have an edit feature but apparently it’s a pain in the ass since somehow another person can get in and sabotage a comment or something like that. It might also be “dev-t” (developed and unnecessary traffic) for the blog host. NBD (No Big Deal)
Thank you Mike. I’m looking forward for this every Friday. Every word that you are posting, is so true and make soooo much sense. I have a little bit loss to find out after 31 years being in Scientology that it is bunch of crap. I had so much wishes and hopes that something could done about my self and the world. Now that is all blab and nonsense, there is no way to go back. One big advantage is there I am enjoying my money rather than spending it for science fiction and nazi cult.
I like that line about “Not-Is”.
Miscavige and his frightened minions (he likes them that way) have “Not-Ised” the whole world of reality away. I guess it is better to live in a fantasy that your whole world and belief system isn’t crumbling around you.
And so we get the bullshit stats, the bullshit wins, the bullshit expansion… and the scotch keeps flowing.
Remarkably life like RB.
The ability of the average staff member to mentally compute is covered quite accurately here. For those that have never been in this must be bizarre. However, it serves a critical function for the defense of Scio management. Such stupidity creates a very effective barrier. It is no accident that they are like that, anyone with any intelligence has been long “dealt with” by Scio’s brutal regime. Escape is the only option for the foot soldiers of Scientology but they have been brainwashed that the world at large is their enemy. Yes… they are insane, but try convincing them of that!
I really wish this Co$ could be resolved by government intervention but that’s really scary. Who gets to say what religion is acceptable? I’m a Christian and I want the freedom to worship as I please. I want all Americans to have a choice. I want you to be able to choose for yourself even if I think it’s crazy.
That is a basic right of our constition and I hold that right in very high regard. There are strong elements in our government that wish to abolish all religious rights. I want you to have the right to have no religion at all.
The criminality of Co$ desperately needs to be dealt with. The best way to do that, I think, is to help Mike, Leah, Tory, Tony, etal to cut off the blood supply to this monster. I can only try to support the people who know how to fight this thing. My prayers go out for all of you who were tortured and nearly destroyed.
I’m on your side and will do everything I can to help.
With help from people like you Kati Maines, Scientology will soon be placed where it belongs: a business enterprise that is answerable to the laws of the land (like RICO).. Scientologists never considered this a real religion anyway. Just a tax dodge….
Off topic but relevant: I wanted to post this today rather than going back to the earlier conversations this week. I’ve spent much too much of my time sparring with Foolproof. I’m done with him; won’t happen again. There was an excellent reply to him from a poster named Brian, who said a lot of the things I would have said: every single one of Foolproof’s comments here have been vicous, nasty and sarcastic, and in his reply to Brian a couple of days ago he outdid himself in nastiness.
Brian thinks that FP is still “in” and apparently just comes here spew some supposedly disruptive venom. FP insists he’s not in the cherch, but who knows when dealing with the Cherch of Lies? the question arises, why does Brian come here? Why isn’t he just hanging out on line with Andy Nolch or other Indies. Maybe he is, but no matter. He has no interest in engaging in serious discussion; he just wants to ridicule, name-call and spread venom.
The valuable thing about Foolproof is that he’s an excellent example of what scientology does to people. Not much “spiritual” about him, to say the least. Really evolved spiritual figures, whether Buddhist, Christian, Hindu or something else, few and far between as the are, would never engage in this type of “attack don’t defend” M.O. But you’ll never see any turn-the-other-cheek, live-and-let-live, or love they neighbor in scientology.
I suggest we let Foolproof do his thing here for all to see since he is a great case in point. However, don’t waste your time responding to him as I did; it’s not worth your time, energy and aggravation. Just be glad you’re not him
Foolproof is not here to help you or help himself.
Scientology was originally advertised as a self-help group. Maybe the early members believed this (I did), but members today only look for members to help Scientology. That’s it. End of story.
A fundamentalist Christian might go to an atheist blog and talk about God and Jesus. He or she might convert a couple of atheists to agnosticism. Good luck.
In fairness I don’t think all rank and file scientologists are fundamentalists but that’s a matter of opinion.
For me all this made for one depressing few days here on the blog. Because like you said it seems pointless to try to have a real discussion there. Not an actual intelligent discussion anyway. But I’m glad all can comment and do comment. I’m here to keep learning and understanding why people were fooled by scientology, and hopefully see it’s demise. I suppose you have to keep a lighter frame of mind sometimes.
I recall when I was on Staff back when Anonymous was protesting the St Louis Org.
Ellen Maher-Forney, the bat shit crazy DSA, told me with a straight face that Anonymous was the Columbine Shooters and she passed out flyers door-to-door around the St Louis Org on Delmar in University City – with photos of those guys on it.
She told the neighbors and businesses in the area that they were the protesters hired by THE PSYCHS.
She must have either made up the flyer with the shooters photos on it or Scientology sent it to her to pass out.
She told me she was “safe pointing the area”
She also went up and down the Delmar loop handing it to business owners.
I was at Starbuck’s where we get coffee and the staff there were making fun at how strange they think Scientology is – that it is a cult and to stay away from the members that come in.
Scientologists did not know that this was all made up – me included.
Anonymous actually were Ex Members, for the most part, who were trying to speak out against the crimes Scientology has done to them. The financial ruin, the divorces, the lies, manipulation, crush regging, ruining lives and people’s dreams.
The Columbine shooters were DEAD and Scientologists (me included)
did not even know that because they are manipulated into not watching the news.
Then Scientology creates FAKE NEWS and feeds it to the sheeple to drain them dry of all money and assets.
It works too – I saw people go into total financial ruin.
Scientology becomes the merchant of chaos and fear.
Scientology uses conspiracy theories etc – when they want you to give up all of your money.
Robin Hanses was a registrar that financially ruined many people.
Amazing. But I remember shit like this and thinking that was what people needed. Also RB you are the best at depicting the absurdities of staff life. You are why I always come here on Friday.
I get you. When I was on staff at CCNashville we would pull down ALL the curtains in every single window whenever Anonymous came around and held a protest across the street. Public were admonished to exit the building via the rear entrance and we staff were told not to have any communication with them. I’m a Mormon and our attitude toward anti-Mormon activity was casual at best but this was just plain paranoia! It was like the place was under siege! Man, talk about an us-vs-them mentality! It blew my mind!
You mentioned Ellen Maher-Forney. Is she related to Julie Forney who was part of CCNashville’s DSA and is now married to Jesse Brinker who was Cope Off when I left staff there?
Alcoboy- yes – that Ellen Maher-Forney. She had two kids; Julie Brinker CC Staff married to Jesse Brinker and Kevin Forney – rumored to be out – hiding UTR.
