Wow! Crazy terminology! I was raised a Jehovie. We had our own terms, not the least of which was constantly referring to the cult as “THE TRUTH”. Like the old Soviet propaganda newspaper Pravda (“Truth”). Repeat something over and over and over again, put it into common everyday use like, “How long have you been in the TRUTH? / When did you get the TRUTH? / Are your parents in the TRUTH?”, etc, and people will start believing it – forever! Then there was so much Old Testament nonsense, like learning what color were the fringes on the robe the High Priest wore on Atonement Day. Or the correct pronunciation of “Sanhedrin”. WGAFF???!!! To this day, the rest of my idiot family still diligently studies that useless sh*t.
One thing’s for sure – Scatologists, the JDumbs, the Fundamentalist Latter Day Satans, etc, as well as their Enablers, treat their constituents just like mushrooms – keep them in the dark, feed them manure, and lop their heads off if they get too big.
Many years ago I studied but didn’t practice an objectivism type* philosophy called The Neo-Tech Discovery authored by Frank R. Wallace. He says that “Dreaming is the mind’s garbage-disposing process. Dreams help purge the mind of unintegrated clutter, mysticism, and meaningless non sequiturs absorbed while awake.” I might transcribe the full paragraph tomorrow.
Something that I came across in Scn is that if I have a bad dream, after I awaken I think “Cancelled” and lingering thoughts about the dream get gone.
*I say objectivism “type” philosophy since Wallace later presented the idea of “Zons” which are a million year advanced beings to humans who are now influencing earth civilization or something like that. Supposedly by practicing Neo-Tech we can develop Zon Powers. Wow! I didn’t follow up on Zon Powers – lol
This is from the book “The Neo-Tech Discovery” page 252:
[ Dreaming – Thinking in Reverse
Dreaming is the thinking process in reverse: Dreaming is the mind’s garbage-disposing process. Dreams help purge the mind of unintegrated clutter, mysticism, and meaningless non sequiturs absorbed while awake. Thus, contrary to the mystical notions of Freud, dreams have no meanings or connections to reality. And dream “analysis” is nothing more than feeding regurgitated clutter back into the mind. Plus, the more mysticism and non sequiturs that crowd the mind, the more frequent and nightmarish the dreams become. Then subsequent dreams increasingly lose their therapeutic, garbage-disposal effects. If the mind becomes increasingly loaded with mystical notions, one’s dreams grow less effective in purging and protecting the mind from clutter. The mind becomes unable to store, integrate, or function efficiently enough to let that person live as a happy, intelligent, productive, conscious being.]
Similar to Hubbard, Wallace had something to say about just about everything. He trashed Scn and put it in the category of groups which tout “highly publicized benefits designed to indulge almost anyone’s emotions to escape reality. . . . . Other benefits touted by groups such as Scientologists include various mystical routes to “freedom” and “happiness” through self awareness via clearing hang-ups or engrams.”
Wallace died after getting struck by a car while jogging and I think his son took over the organization.
Any group, religion, cult, whatever that makes claims not easily verifiable using an ordinary encyclopedia or consumer science magazine gets the ol’ heave-ho from me. when they start claiming engrams, programs, nograms, and every other type of gram, I know they are crackers. Gram crackers.
No, I dew know how to spel it rite, i have chosen to free myself from conventional spels and punct and capts unless I decide to write Marylin Vos Savant to correct her again.
I git yer pint, but just for fun check this out. Wallace admits there’s no proof of extraterrestrial life but statistical probability says there is with over 100 billion observable galaxies, most of which have been around for 13 billion years. Any civilization which escapes cosmic, planetary and self caused mass extinction for millions of years would work toward life extension and biological immortality. Therefore beings with thousands of years of life span goes into the realm of science fiction, science fact.
Wallace mostly stays within the Objectivism point of view, “What’s real is real.” as opposed to “What’s real is what’s real for you.” Objectivism as I understand it requires dedication and a diligent pursuit of eliminating any reliance on “Higher Authority” such as gurus, gods, goddesses, and God. This theoretically leads to an explosion of creative and analytical mental capacity, so Wallace says.
Wallace speculates on an accessible intergalactic computer and faster than speed of light communication via gravitational waves among other things. He and Elron would have had lots of notes to compare if they had ever met in person.

It makes me grimace and grind my teeth to think of the terms, Scientology can handle that, the Bridge to Total Freedom & make it go right etc – yuck!
You gotta give Ron credit for turning science fiction into Scientology and selling it. Too bad, his “OT abilities” didn’t allow him to predict the whole thing would implode.
Spot on once more.
One of the things that trapped me in scientology was the between lives stuff, “The role of Earth” tape, as one of my purposes was to understand and solve the issue of death.
I was hoping that the OT levels were designed to handle the between lives stuff.
When I discovered the true nature of the OT levels on the Internet, I was no more interested by scientology.
I was trapped by the mystery and that is probably one of the reasons why the OT levels are confidential.
BINGO Curiosus. There are many traps in Scientology though.
FEAR – of losing family, losing eternity, losing abilities to be a powerful being.
Mind Control – tactics used so follower “believes” with total conceptual understanding. They use the “Scientological Mind instead of the rational mind to live life, solve problems and survive. Many fail to survive well.
Hypnosis – Number of Times over = implanted deep into the Subconscious Mind.

Thought stopping techniques cleverly disguised. The PTS / SP course is ridden with the thought stopping techniques and how to attack, never defend – using the clever and covert trick – AD HOMINEM – (of an argument or reaction) directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining.
If anyone is critical of Scientology, the leader or founder – they are hiding big sordid crimes.
Making Auditing and “security checking” very expensive if someone even thinks about anything negative about Scientology, leader or founder.
Lots of other parlor tricks in Scientology to dupe people into believing Scientology works when 66 years has proven it does not work.
The founder was a nut case. The leader is a sociopathic psycho crazy criminal thug.
WOW… great summary of Scientology technology as it it used and the majority of techniques involved.
And not forgetting, Chinese school… a nice little lingering gift to staff by Hubbard himself
However, I actually cried when I read: “People often behave strangely when their religion gets them to believe that Spiritual Freedom and Happiness can only be gained through unquestioned obedience.”
Odd, I’ve been out of the SO for 14 years but I still have bizarre dreams every night. At first they were just terror nightmares about getting caught, later that I was back in but trying to figure out how to get out again, lately I meet up with old friends and just talk about strange dream things. While trying to explain that I am out. And searching for that elusive toilet paper roll.
Guess my back-brain is still trying to put the pieces together. Or I need a little more B1.
But I’ve heard a lot of folks say that they have vivid dreams for years after leaving the SO. Don’t think it means we all have PTSD, they aren’t those kind of dreams. Just the brain trying to make sense out of something that doesn’t add up. By one set of rules I’m a traitor, by another a freedom rider. An unresolvable conflict.
There is a theory that every choice you make creates two new universes. And a version of “you” is in both. One that went left, another that went right. So maybe the “me” that never snuck out of the Celebrity Center Anniversary Event to take a Greyhound to freedom is talking to me across the divide. Hey, other “me”, you can still walk out! Don’t bother bugging me with weird dreams, get yourself free!
Yes that’s exactly what I did. And the song came to mind too, but not until I got enough sleep to be coherent again.
After staying up something like a week with brief naps here and there, setting up the event, doing work on the A/V systems in the CC Int President’s Office, working on some systems that were supposed to ship out weeks before, we finally did the event. They called me out of bed the night before the event so Dave could rehearse his speech live in the venue. We always recorded those rehearsals, but the recordist was too toasted to stay up another night so I did it.
The even went pretty well. This was the one in 2004 where Tom Cruise invited some of his producers and we were told they were impressed. Probably a lie, but anything goes for a buck in Lyintolology..
But then they did a live music show with the Musicians and Beck. Midway through Beck’s performance his aging sampler quit. Total disaster, most of the show was Beck vocals over the sampler (“Two turntables and a microphone…”)
I was the Technician for the show, and the Sea Org tradition is that if anything goes wrong with the equipment the Technician gets it. Never mind all the excuses, I failed to Make It Go Right and the next step is another round of Ethics and Justice procedures that would look draconian to Torquemada.
The next task on the schedule was to stay up all night again securing the equipment for the event. I took down the pubic address microphones and podium rig, made sure they were safe.
But then I had this thought. I had around $300 I’d saved up.. And I was in LA. Within easy access to public transportation. Not behind the razor wire. Could I start a new life with $300 and a few pairs of socks?
I went to the bathroom near the Sauna in the basement, the one we’re not supposed to use, sat on the can and worked out a new plan: Throw some socks and underwear in my tool bag, change into my work clothes, drop off the keys, Lee, pretend to go to the burger joint on the corner for a midnight snack, walk across the street and catch the city bus to the Greyhound station and freedom.
Bruce that is one wild story! I am so happy you had that moment. It blows my mind this Saturday morning. That gives hope that anyone can have that moment. So happy you are living a free life my friend. ☺
