At first, I would be polite. I was brought up to be polite. One is not rude. One gives polite hints and excuses, as truthfully as possible without giving offense.
My parents taught me this. Tell the truth whenever and as much as possible, don’t lie, don’t make up silly stories and excuses when a refusal is necessary but at the same time don’t give offense. Refusals must be successfully accomplished using truth AND manners.
Always worked for me in the past but when I hit Scientology’s Sea Org, let me say this about that:

Well as soon as I crossed the line into “misemotion” I DOOMED myself with them. They could write me up for being rude to a Sea Org member. And they did.
Basically it just gave them an excuse to keep the conversation GOING.
After 22 years I hit on a winning, workable and impenetrable strategy that ticked all the boxes.
When pressed to do something, I didn’t want to do or could not do I would simply – and very politely and firmly – refuse.
When asked for a reason I would give NO reason.
“Its just not something I’m going to do.”
When pressed for the “why” I would still not give it.
Then they’d say something like, “When are you free so that we can discuss this?”, and I’d reply, “This is not a discussion, thank you.”.
And I’d stick to that. Real, real simple. Give them nothing, no reason. Just, “Thank you for asking, but I will not be doing that.”, with very good confront and a calm, firm voice and a friendly smile. Over and over, the same answer, conceptually.. Their communication would get batted right back to them but – and this was a big win for me – I could now refuse without losing my temper, without being RUDE.
As I said, this only took me 22 years to figure out (I’m a very fast learner) but when I finally did it was a big relief.

Excellent technique! I used something similar when my kids became argumentative teenagers. (But I was taught it in a “Parenting Teenagers” class provided by my local court and probation officer.) Keeping a cool head and a firm but conversational voice is the key for the best success.

It was easy for me to walk away, rude or not. Isn’t the EP of Grade 0, the ability to talk with anyone on any subject, OR NOT. Talking is effect, listening is cause. Who, after all, controls the conversation if the listener leaves (or sticks his fingers in his ears)?
Scientology questioning is not really interested in anyone’s answer(s). You can be as honest/deceitful, precise/generalizing, or as respectful/rude as can be. The goal is to MAKE YOU TO COMPLY with the cult’s prompts. Whether it’s to get you do a personality test, touch a wall, yell at an ashtray, or to confess to some “crime”, the objective is always CONTROL. Control is the cult’s only narrative. Free flowing, open-minded, and reasonable conversation where participants can disagree, learn from another, be silent, change the subject, or be candid is too unpredictable. Cultists can’t control you if you refuse to play their game by their rules!!

Then they’d ask me the same question AGAIN – the question I had already answered, as “No” and told them IN DETAIL the reason why which in turn they had ANSWERED with the acknowledgement, “I understand.”

It was already hard to do body routing a few years back. Nowadays it must be near to impossible because everything the cult does just confirms the weirdness, the delusion the scam and the abuse. The “Dissemination Drill” in Scn was asking a person “What’s ruining your life?” and then telling them Scn could handle it for them. It sounds kind of crude but if you had some rapport with a person it could be asked in a non offensive manner. I “kind of” believed Scn could handle anyone’s ruin but was sure of it so I rarely disseminated. I probably just mentioned some matter of fact “benefits” of Scn to friends or acquaintances and if they had any interest. fine, and if not they went into the category of “eventually” they’d become Scientologists.

You don’t ever get rid of any engrams – you learn how to shut down all emotions with the clever tech.
That is how they make Scientology robots who cannot and will not think for themselves.
Scientology’s Bridge alone is a ruin that that will put you on a hamster wheel for eternity – where you will chase the carrot.

It was already hard to do body routing a few years back. Nowadays it must be near to impossible because everything the cult does just confirms the weirdness, the delusion the scam and the abuse. It would be one more self enhancement mouvement with motivated people like David Mayo trying to do his best to help people and it would be quite successful.
