Accidents or illnesses in Scn are attributed to being connected to an SP, a Suppressive Person, and makes you PTS, a Potential Trouble Source. On the surface, someone antagonizing you might cause you to be distracted and more accident prone. Having an accident or illness required going to Ethics and uncovering the SP. In the few times I had an accident or illness I could invent an SP to get out of Ethics and back to business.
I must admit that even after Scn I continued to keep a lookout on whether any SPs were around and felt relatively “safe” with the lack of such around. Nothing paranoid but it was part common sense and part a carry over of scientology thinking.
In Scn the overriding goal is to be At Cause over anything and everything. In my Scn mission the Ethics Officer had a big sign on the wall saying “You Are Responsible For Your Own Condition”. Apparently SPs can disrupt the process according to Scn tenets.

Possibly, for one reason or another, possibly, Sea Ogres, whether married or not, don’t get much sex, Possibly the only “sex” they get is hearing about it via the sec checking of other Sea Ogres, staff or public. Look at it this way: unlike most people who get no 2D action, they can’t use vibrators, can’t go on the internet, can’t lbuy at Playboy or Hustler. So they use the lurid sec check data to feed their fantasies…? Really, its not too far-fetched a theory, is it? And if its true, then its no wonder that during the sec check they keep asking, “Is that ALL of it?” 🙂

‘– as no one can be that stupid? Surely not?’
Fool (again, Not a typo), Au Contraire! Time after time, you and others of your ilk personify the walking, talking definition of Sheer Stupidity!
The flip side to this coin: there were at least a couple of 15 or 16 year-old Sea Org girls posted as Ethics Officers at Flag in the late ‘90s.
In the ethics waiting area would often be a few middle-aged men waiting to go into the office with one of these young girls to discuss their sec-check knowledge reports, which might be filled with the lurid details of their sexual peccadilloes, among the various “crimes”, and what kind of amends or “handling” would be required of these men to get back into the good graces of the church.
It is not surprising that these guys would often write large checks to the IAS to make this type of dignity-whipping go away.
The expressions on their faces—humiliation and dread—said it all.
I have wondered why so many of the cult members had died from cancer. It seemed to be a large percentage. When on the Aftermath show, it was stated that they had the people using their hands to break down walls, and move material, It dawned on me that some of the older building have a high amount of lead paint and asbestos. With the cult members with no safety equipment handling that material it would be highly dangerous. Is there any way that the cause of the high amount of cancers of the members of the cult be traced to they type of cancer and source. I worked with one man who died from Mesothelioma as he was working on ship boilers when he was in the Navy. It took years for the disease to show up.
Here’s something else to factor in – smoking. How many of those Scientologists dying prematurely were smokers? My best friend in high school died of lung cancer at 53. From the age of 13, a smoker Not a Scientologist. Perhaps cancer doesn’t target Scientologists per se, but Scientologists who smoke. Not trying to be right about this or defend the cherch. I have no dog in this game. I quit smoking years ago and am ridiculously healthy. Just offering a possibility.
Hello Lance:
I was the Repair and Mechanics Chief for the Freewinds from 1986 to 2002.
The walls, overhead ECT in the Engine Room is covered with asbestos up to 4 or more inches thick.
And it is Blue Asbestos, the most deadly kind, mined I think in South Africa as they have plenty of Kaffirs to work there which are considered expendable as I was in the end.
There was a guy that I worked with who was in the U.S. Navy. His job was to tear out and repair the boilers on ships. He also got asbestos poisoning and passed away 25 years later. I am so sorry for you and all of those who worked on the Freewinds, and have gotten sick. The cult should be held accountable.
In actuality, Ed is a VOYEUR…..he’s getting his sexual gratification hearing about the sexual exploits…peccadillos of OTHER people.
He apparently has an issue with “his OWN performance”….maybe he is unable to “do it” unless he’s heard enough “admissions of crimes” to get himself aroused. I wonder if his lack of his own libido shows up on HIS “E Meter. Disgusting to think Ed “gets off” on having to exploit young girls/women sexually to get his “high”..
Ah yes, a day in the life of a Scientologist! There are actually three types of days in Scientology, it depends on what gender you are or if you’re a neutrally, robot headed, anti-emotional type of fanatically zealous Hubbard watchdog (the pinnacle of technical perfection). Well done RB, you captured the very essence of what it’s like to be a staff member of the pseudo scientifically researched con game that is walled off from the rest of society with the promises of riches beyond your earthly restraints. (Sounds kind of familiar doesn’t it?)
Scientology really messes up people’s sex lives and famillies.
Scientology destroys people’s finances.
Scientology destroys relationships. IScientology is the 3rd party to all conflict.
Scientology causes divorce.
Scientology confuses and traumatizes people.
Scientology uses bad control to obtain people’s money and free labor.
Scientology Leader, David Miscavige, lives a lavish lifestyle while he uses tax free money to hire the sleaziest and most criminal attorney’s and private investigators in the land to harass anyone who dares exposes HIS crimes.
Scientology will be STOPPED because we are not stopping.
Tick Tock Miscavige. Tick Tock.
All true indicators of a real, live, evil and disgusting CULT!
So right you are….. As a koolaide drinking cult member, they got me to reject my son’s fiancee because she wasn’t a cult member too. This is Scientology’s way of getting cult members to ruin their own families.
I do wonder about his sex life. In real religions – Buddhism, Hinduism. Catholicism, a vow of celibacy is a valid spiritual path. Scientology has no such positive path of celibacy – just negatives for being “out D2.” So, if His Viscousness is having sex with Laurisse what’s-her-name (while still legally married to Shelly), or just sex with himself, he’s “out D2” – and therefore a total hypocrite.
I strongly suspect Hubbard was completely impotent in the last few decades of his life (his deterioriting health being one factor). No indication that Miscavige is, but of course no one knows – yet. He lifts weights and keeps himself in shape, so apparently his health is good.
I see a lot of jokes about his presumed drinking – whether to excess or not is obviously unknown. FYI I have met people who drank heavily, but did a lot of cardio and weight training – to “burn it off,” I suppose. You might be able to play that game for a while, but it’ll catch up with you sooner or later.
Leah saw Laurisse (Lou) touch his butt at TC’s wedding. (hilarious btw). So that I’m sure means sex is happening there. He almost seems asexual being the malignant narcissist that he is. I don’t think he’s gay. He loves TC like a god equal to him it seems to me. I honestly believe he sexually gets off thinking about the degradation and abuse he inflicts or wants to inflict. I do wonder to what degree he’s a sexual sadist though? Valerie said DM and Shelly didn’t do it much, so that’s kinda weird. Of course this is total conjecture on my part. I wonder if he has a room like in Fifty Shades of Grey? Lol.
No offense, ISN, but as much as Leah might qualify, I believe Mike Deserves it more, i.e., she provided the vehicle, but (along with others) he has provided the fuel, at great personal risk and moral criticism.
Mike has displayed levels of courage that I want to describe to you but I have no words.
Not only does he have to contend with the threat of having several paid idiots following him around, going thru his garbage and all the other insanity,
But he had to admit to himself and to the entire world all the harm he did under the direction of The Scam and all the people who were hurt. IMHO, that required the more courage than the most courage there is.
Instead of calling Mike an Enemy of Scamatology (something that I think anyone should be proud to be called), I would instead call him a Friend of Humanity. I would also give Leah the same respect. Surely no one would say she is not deserving of that.
My understanding is that the leadership of Scientology did indeed act with extreme irresponsibility regarding the Freewinds and exposing people to blue asbestos. They could have put many people at risk.
The very rudimentary research I did on this suggested that prolonged exposure is required to do the damage, but staff members posted there for long periods of time could be in big trouble.
I used to work in asbestos litigation. If anyone brings a mesothelioma case (a terminal pulmonary cancer) to trial, a jury is not going to be sympathetic to the defendants.
It’s a random chance effect – more times playing Russian Roulette, more times risking cancer. Mesothelioma is more deadly that being shot in the head. Extremely nasty cancer.
You have to understand the mindset of Scientology. In their minds, something like asbestos exposure is nothing but an engram that can be eliminated by way of auditing sessions.
I’ve been hearing a lot about this creepy Ed character lately…he has even been searching the internet, apparently, to complain about anyone who mentions Scientology. I noticed this because Ed sent an email in to The Frank Report a few weeks ago to complain about an article that was posted there. How did crazy Ed even notice that article?
Having never been in Scientology, I don’t understand their perverted fascination with church members sex lives. Is this fascination actually a way to gather private information that can be used for coercion or blackmail?
the criminal organisation known as the “church” of $cientology simply likes control. Total control.
Plus, if a person is seen as being successful, they can get away with being sexual predators – because the organisation doesn’t care equally about all its victims. Tony Strawn was one who got found out. Others got found out, but the victims were coerced into giving false testimony to the authorities and blamed for the whole thing…
The cover-up alleged to have been carried out by Jan Eastgate is just one example.
All auditors I can remember were working long hours and trying to help me….maybe cause I’m a guy never met an ‘Ed’…..know its humor….but maybe not as accurate as most RB.
I thought that was true also…UNTIL: I was declared. The, by weird chance; I met my most recent auditor in the street. He had had a small incident with a loose dog getting hit by his car. It was not his fault, & the dog was alive. The dog’s owner was really nice, & admitted his dog had jumped out of his car. BUT: When my “auditor” saw me talking with the dog’s owner (he did not know what I was saying to him,) The “auditor” started yelling about how I was a terrible wife; & my personality caused my husband to have to leave me!!!!!!!
This was all out in the street!! Screaming and anger from this “cool, trained, Auditor…I was shocked. By the way, as luck would have it, I saw the man that had the dog the next day. He told me he took the dog to the Vet to be checked out & it was fine. I then told him about the cult and how horrible it was.
This horrible bastardization of a “church” needs to have a complete and total end put to it.
I left many years ago when the tech was being screwed with. I am sick that it would be taken to such cartoonish extremes. There is absolutely no excuse – not even stupidity or fear – for these supposed “tech actions.”
OSA – I hope you really take a look at this and wonder no longer why your cult is shrinking at record numbers. As if the beatings, the physical abuse of staff, the extortion of money, the ruining of families, the abuse of children etc. etc. weren’t reason enough.
Since you left many years ago, you may not have heard of The Aftermath Foundation. It is an organization started by Luis Garcia and several other former senior members of The Scam including Mike Rinder.
I’m sure they could really use your support because you are knowledgeable in the ways of The Scam and could be a big help in figuring out some good tactics to bring about the death of this horror show. You can donate some of your time by sending them Email. See the Contacts page on their web site: theaftermathfoundation.org
Please excuse me if I am being presumptuous in thinking you may not yet know about this foundation.
Hey Skyler – yes, I am aware of the Aftermath Foundation (I actually enclosed a sheet regarding it in the last package of returned mail to the “Church”) and the wonderful work it is doing. I also have met Luis (lovely man) as well as Mike plus some of this site’s posters have been my friends for decades.
I have also been there for some who have suffered through the abuses, are either UTR or out and helped them through their own stories.
I think what makes it look like I am more of an outsider is that I left before most of the posters did (I believe), plus, I was not a victim of the abuse as this horrible cult is known for now, and, I still find workability in much of the technical data before AppleBox Boy rose to power – which I know many posters do not.
No need to excuse any presumptions – I fully appreciate you reaching out and also very much enjoy your posts.
Great article with lots of praise for Mike and Leah though I am pretty sure Hubbard never published in the “Isaac Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine” as it started in the 70s, long after his fiction writing career.
I was just coming here to read RB and post about the piece about Leah in Town Hall! Thx for posting the link! Great article – I love it and couldn’t agree more! Stay strong and keep up the great work Leah and Mike!
The level of intelligence and education of Scientologists has dropped drastically in the last 20 years. RB has captured it perfectly. The movie Idiocracy depicts perfectly the current state of Scientology.
“He’s a creep and has really bad breath.” Older men ‘auditing’ or ‘sec checking’ young girls. What could go wrong? I think that the CO$ should join the Catholic Church in docks for sex abuse. I do hope many of the CO$ abused come forward and sue.
ok – i just threw up a bit …in my mouth – this is disgusting! “Ed” needs to be reported to….I don’t even know who – but someone! I’m at a loss for words really. I have been to a LOT of churches in my lifetime – NEVER once has someone told me I must describe anything sexual in detail or at all for that matter! This is so wrong on so many levels!
I agree that this is so wrong. Scientology is just an abusive scam that allow sexual and physical abuse to go on. I only hope Aftermath will open up the whole thing as the fraud it is. Hiw can J. Travolta, Tom Cruise and the rest of those actors be so stupid? Are they really that stupid or do they just condone sexual abuse and the rest of the crap that is associated with this so called religion. If it is the latter then it truly says what low morale characters they possess . I will never support any of their movies or television programs until they take a stand against this type of illegal activities. . They should all be ashamed.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how ‘smart’ actors get caught up in this bs… let’s dissect this for a minute….
Actors – particularly rather famous ones – never have to think for themselves. They have handlers/lawyers/managers/press agents/stylists/security etc etc all telling them from one minute to the next – how to dress – how to speak – how to walk – on and on.
Then they go to “work” and on set they have producers and directors telling them how to react – speak – stand and so forth..
It stands to reason that they would so easily be caught up in a scam that tells them who what where when and why! All they know is how to listen to someone telling them what to do.

HAHAHAHAHHA! I have to admire RB for taking very serious truths then satirizing them like this. It’s wickedly funny but serious too. Well done RB. 🙂

Off-topic – Kira Davis is saying she nominated Leah Remini for a “Profiles in Courage” award. https://townhall.com/columnists/kiradavis/2019/02/01/why-im-nominating-leah-remini-for-a-profiles-in-courage-award-n2540629

Razz says
