Being “Able to Operate in Action on the Emotional Tone Scale” is a useful concept. Sometimes if I’m procrastinating on getting house chores done I’ll order myself to “get into action” and get with it and get a lot done. It doesn’t work on my wife, however. More practice on Tone 40 is needed.
A corollary is “The human mind is engaged in the estimation of effort.” which is one of the few maxims or logics or whatever it was to which I give credence.
That was a joke about using Tone 40 on my wife. (It wouldn’t work anyhow.)
On another blog someone came up with something which is kind of a maxim or a logic. She said, “Life (or a lot of life) is about moving things around.” which has some truth to it. Occasionally if my wife gets on me about something like, “When are you going to trim the bushes?” I might escape by saying, “I’m done with moving things around today. I’ll do it later.” She gets the concept but I can’t overuse it.
Scientology does allow a playful carefree attitude, but only in highly restricted situations. Like at the registrar after writing a success story or when playing a fundraising game. Otherwise it’s deadly serious activity.
FYI, my previous post was the result of watching a bizarre and fairly ugly video of Jenny Linson who was one member of a group who ambushed Marc Headley together with a Danish camera crew at some airport and she kept screaming at him, “When are you going to do something good for humanity?”
I hope I got these facts correct. I saw two different videos and I may have mixed-up some of the facts. One video featured Marty Rathburn and the other featured Marc Headley. But I am certain that it was Jenny Linson and that she was part of a group who ambushed Marc Headley. I’m also fairly certain that Marc Headley was together with a Danish film crew at the time.
I must admit this Jenny Linson person seriously scares me. How in the world will she ever be able to reconcile her conduct with her concern for “something good for humanity”? What will she be thinking if and when she ever opens her eyes? I just cannot imagine.
For those of you who may not recognize the name, “Jenny Linson”, she was one of the four women who were the ex-wives of four senior ex-Scam executives. I believe the four were: Mike Rinder, Tom De Vocht, Heber Jentzsch and Marty Rathburn. There sure are a lot of “exes” associated with this scam!
But it was a very memorable interview. It was the one in which several of the women repeated the exact same phrases about their ex-husbands. Remember, “I know ever inch of his body and … “.
It was laughable because it was clear proof they had all been coached and instructed to use the exact same language by someone who was not smart enough to figure out that by doing that, they would reveal that they were all lying.
Crazy, lying witches! It sends a shiver down my spine every time I see that video. It also makes me understand why it is that people actually burned women alive at the stake in the middle ages.
I’m fairly certain that the lady I am referring to as “Jenny Lind(strom?)” is the former wife of Tom De Vocht
Jenny Linson is a nasty piece of work. She is indeed the ex wife of Tom DV. (And daughter of Hollywood producer Art Linson and sister of Sons of Anarchy creator John Linson neither of whom are scientologists).
She was also the lead screecher in the doctors parking lot with me.
I think the person with Marc was Cathy Fraser (/Hawkins ex-wife of Jeff). She was one of the 4 Anderson Cooper “inch wives” not Heber’s ex (Karen De La Carriere). Jenny wasn’t in that video. She wasn’t at the base that day or she would have been there. Nothing she like more than being a bitch….
The 4 woman who appeared on Anderson Cooper and responded to the stories of Miscavige beating his subordinates with the rehearsed line “I was married to __________ and I know every inch of his body snd was never bruised or injured” (so this obviously proves it never happened….
It was so obvious she was lying….her body position & face told the truth. She KNOWS what really went on, she should…wasn’t she also “in the hole”.
Anyone who would have a doubt about the abuse that you and so many others received needs to have their heads examined. Just how could SO MANY people tell the same stories over and over….about the beating, being held prison in “the hole” and have to ESCAPE because the “organization” will NOT LET YOU LEAVE on your OWN volition.
How a MOTHER could turn your children against their own PARENT is unfathomable…so much hate, it’s eating her alive & she doesn’t even know it…along with Taryn…..their are consumed with hate.
The number of views of the Linson/LAX ambush of Marty is likely over a million by now. On youtube, search using “linson rathbun” in the search bar. You can see her performance as inch – wife and see the video called “top scientology managers in action”. I watch both videos now and again.
I believe that I may have found an error in the dialogue of this blog entry. Here it is:
“I heard that we’re going to get hatted so that we all know our role in the next pivotal step of COBs plan that will accelerate the reversal of this planet’s Dwindling Spiral.”
should be
“I heard that we’re going to get hatted so that we all know our role in the next pivotal step of COBs plan that will accelerate the reversal of this scam’s Dwindling Spiral.”
After all, there is no Dwindling Spiral as pronounced as this scam’s Dwindling Spiral.
If only we could figure out a way to harness the incredible energy of this crash before it crashes and smashes itself into smithereens, we would really be doing something great for this planet … something great for humanity.
We recently had a couple in their early 20s with an income of $20,000 per year and a two year old child come in to file for bankruptcy. They had a few minor debts, but had two HUGE credit card debts, one for $26,000, another one for $35,000. I shook my head wondering who would grant these young people those kind of credit limits. Then I discovered that they had recently relocated from Clearwater, Florida. Question answered.
We were filling out the questionnaire and it asked if they had any religious preference. They both stared at each other. I told them I had left scientology in the early ’80s and asked them if they had ever heard of it, knowing what their answer would be. The girl started to cry. We had a 3 hour consultation.
That, people, is a true story of scientology “saving the planet”. A couple in their early 20s, neither of whom graduated from high school, with a two year old daughter, $63,000 in debt, living in a state where they have no ties because they don’t want to be found, with the belief that their daughter will never meet her grandparents, who they left behind when they fled.
@jim No I pointed them to me. The Aftermath Foundation is great, no argument with that. However, I live near them and know of the resources to help them. Unfortunately, bankruptcy will be their first step to a new life.
@imanerrated, We have pulled the resources together in our community to ensure that their child and any future children they may have will not lack for love or care. He is well employed now, she is getting an education, and life is looking up.
@peacemaker, the court can only claw back 90 days. In the case of bankruptcy, the two credit card companies are the only ones who will take the hit. Those companies may choose to sue for fraud through the bankruptcy court if they desire. If they do, we will represent the couple and we will draw scientology into it. My guess is nothing will happen and scientology will skate with the $.
I dream of a day that enough of this will bring them down.
And $63,000 that honest people who pay their bills will bear the cost of, unless the bankruptcy court claws some of the money back from the CofS. Thanks for sharing this real-life account of the damage that Scientology does.
This is also a sad reminder of why there aren’t that many Scientology public members in Clearwater – many end up fleeing the incessant financial pressure, snitching, etc.
This is so bloody awful. I just know you were so much help to them and they now have “someone’ they can talk to and reach out to. And yes, as a couple of others have stated – the Aftermath Foundation might be able to help them if only for the sake of the child.
Val, How great for them that they found you!! Hopefully that’s the solid beginning of their new $cieno-free life. Whether they get $ help from Aftermath Foundation or not, I think knowing that it exists along with the communites the exes and critics have established online will help them immensely. Fingers crossed for them! (I’m not one for prayer, per se)
Uck – that “spirit of play” line that staff loved using to get you to do anything. It annoyed me back then and now makes me want to punch the husband after the last panel. Gees, RB you sure “restimulated” my past suppressed emotions. I must need an ARCX session – LOL.
I disagree, Cindy. The wife, as we’ve seen in previous episodes, is really smart and knows ways to draw her husband along to where they need to be, and I think she’s increasingly convinced that they need to blow. I’m expect she’ll be able to really open his eyes to what Co$ is really up to sometime soon, and he’ll be so dumbfounded that she’ll be able to draw him all the way out of the Cherch.
At least, that’s what I hope happens, and I’ve seen plenty of signs of disaffection in her before today. He’ll need careful management for his own well-being, but she’s able to do that superbly and subtly.
Dump his ass. Tell him you’re going to do what he suggested and apply The Spirit of Play as you walk out the door with your suitcases. I bet he won’t even notice as he cheerily waves goodbye.
No wonder this squirrelly church is almost completely dead.
Maybe I read too much in (and get all invested in these poor RB characters) but being as I’ve only been reading here for about 6yrs, back when RN started this series was it meant to be based on real specific people or recreations of things he/she was part of when they were in? Wondering what inspired it and/or the backstory behind the mysterious (& talented) Regraded Being.
Just curious, as they’re always fun to come read on Fridays, but also offer great insight (esp to us never-ins) as to how scientology plays out in the day-to-day lives of those still in.
Hi Jeny – this from an “in” for many, many years – yes this is how your average scio. speaks. It was bad when I was still active and I haven’t been for awhile but I can imagine it has gotten worse.
RB’s comics hits it on the nail each time. For us exes (at least for me) it provides a great relief to laugh at this now while shaking my head and thinking “what the fuck was I part of”. It’s hard to explain, I’m not as prolific as others on this site.
Anyway, thanks RB for comic relief every week, it’s very healing.
Ms.P said, “It was bad when I was still active and I haven’t been for awhile but I can imagine it has gotten worse.”
There is only one direction for this scam. It just keeps getting worse and the pace just keeps accelerating. I can’t imagine how it will end. But it promises to end “not with a whimper” but with “a whole lot of yelling, crying and screaming.”
Or maybe not. You never can tell with this crazy shit.
Jen – After that last panel, I swear I would have punched him in the mouth and thrown HIM out the car! And I’m not a violent person, it just boils my blood now, I knew many people like these two.
I had the same thoughts. She needs to dump him like toxic waste, not sign for any loans or credit cards, and stash away some money for herself any way she can get her hands on some.
I’d like to see her give him an ultimatum: our marriage or scientology. Then we’d find out if he really is that stupid or if he has sufficient grey matter left to finally wake up.
Happy Friday from the Pacific Northwest, everyone. I’m always reminded to be grateful; I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life; joining scientology was not one of them.
Let me tell you, from what I observed, the Koolaid-drinking wives are no slouches in the dumb-dodo department either. I think it depends on the couple which one, either husband or wife, is the stupider, more cult-obedient and dependent robot incapable of independent thought.
I was planning to ask RB why the hubby is always the dodo, never the wife. And just look at all those women who joined together to attack Mike…and those who were happy to go on tv to also do such attacks. And note the number of fairly senior staff members, both SO and Org level, who are women. Methinks insanity has no sexual barriers. 🙂
