Realistically, there aren’t many SO who could travel back home for just the single day. Too expensive unless their home was close enough to get to by public transport.
What a MAJOR understatement. In my experience, the better days were akin to ceasing to hit my head with a hammer; felt LOTS better, even though there was still an aching headache remaining.
Their not allowed to do ANYTHING outside of COS. Their time and whereabouts, who they associated with and about wheat is a ‘ll ca ruefully monitored. Your ha ‘ve a better chance of “going exterior ” then show ing sympathy for their condition.
I think a Family Parade of exes just walking around downtown Clearwater, happy together, waving to any Disconnected they see, would make a huge statement. No Xenu signs, no anti-CoS, anti-COB signs, just friends and family having a happy little afternoon walk together, maybe spaced apart so it’s not a formal ‘parade’. They could dress up the family dog with a faux-turkey-feather costume.
On second thought, better leave the dog at home. Too much exposure to the SO could give him fleas.
Sorry for the redundancy, but I’m re-posting the comment I made late last night (PST), so everyone can see it today:
Diane Frankle, Tenzin Chogkyi and Mahal Elgenaldi are all in the ING stable of speakers. You can find them here: https://ing.org/ing-speakers/
The Diane Frankle is a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Palo Alto. I think she would listen to what you have to say and respond accordingly.
Maha Egenaldi is the creator of ING, sort of a Moslem front PR organization. You’ll see her name there. Apparently the cherch only approached ING when trawling for “shore story” speakers. Perhaps they figured the Moslem community would be less informed of scientology’s abuses, which may well be the case.
Please go ahead and email them. Maybe they really don’t know the group they’re speaking for is a scientology front. Let them know that YOU know who it is they’re speaking for. I would think that Diane Frankle, as a liberal Episcopalian, could well change her mind if you thoroughly explained the evils of scientology to her.
chambermv.org has the diversity seminar online. It states it’s being given by the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View. It’s panelists are ING and it’s being held at the COS lake view drive ( I think that was the street). Anyway, I’m pretty sure the speakers including Dianne Frankle know they are speaking for Scientology. I tried bixntram but it seems like a lost cause on this group
Sorry reading way ahead of my writing. The ING group wants to know issues in inter faith teen groups. I’m afraid if issue are listed within Scientology, ING will want to help COS change their ways lol. And for some reason, I always assume people know all about Scientology’s ways of doing things. Totally wrong on my part
Bix, the CO$ ain’t got nuttin’ on Islam’s use of “peaceful” front-groups trying to improve Islam’s reality as a hate-mongering, destructive ‘religion’ bent on destroying everyone who doesn’t believe exactly as they do. Witness the internecine conflicts between the various Islamic sects, not to mention their absolutely despising any Western country — basically any country whose citizens have a chance of having it better than they can have.
ING is “Islam network group” whose site paints a pretty picture completely at odds with what the Islamic leaders demand of their followers. Khomeini and al-baghdadi are prime examples, ISIS is their army.(with just enough separation to give them plausible deniability.)
Hey – this might be a silly question but I’m going to be in Clearwater on Thanksgiving Day. Is there anyone doing any sort of outreach to Sea Org members who are stuck there at the holiday? Is there anyone I could connect with to do something to show kindness to them, or to let them know they are cared about even though they aren’t allowed to be with their family? It must be a depressing time for many of them.
Or, does anyone have any suggestions for anything I could do myself to this effect? It seems a unique opportunity since I’m rarely in FL and I would like to make something of it if I could. Even if it’s just something small.
Would you be allowed to take some of them out to eat or to a park for a picnic? Or would they get in trouble? How would you even be able to ask? If you’re an SP, I would think they wouldn’t be allowed to have any contact with you.
That’s easy to fix. Just don’t TELL them you’re an SP. Unless you’re easily recognized like Mark Bunker or Mike Rinder or Leah, if you don’t give any truly identifying information such as your full name, they’ll never know, If I were down there, I think it’d be great to fire up a grill and broil up some hamburgers and hot dogs down by the water. There’s gotta be some place which can be used near the downtown, if only at the marina — I’ve never seen a marina that didn’t have some sort of picnic area. Trouble is, the Marina’s slip rates are outrageous; a minimum of $270 though I saw some note that there were some daytime tie-ups for no charge — so cruisers can go see the Aquarium, I suppose.
Mark, now I see my response to your question, wasn’t answering your question. I was answering the question that I had created in my mind after thinking about your comment. I see now, that you mostly wanted to join in with something that had already been planned or connect with someone who could help you put a plan into motion. You weren’t trying to do something “from scratch.” Of course, I guess your second paragraph means that you also would consider that route. It’s very nice of you to want to reach out.
Thank you, Just Wondering. I wish there were a way we could set up some sort of a “We, the general public, care about you and we sympathize with your suffering” function where they could come and have a good meal and be relieved of the stress of their lives for a little while, but I’m sure that Scientology would probably not permit it. Maybe we can find a couple of them and buy them a latte or something!
AND, someone unconnected to the “pure friendship” gesture could be passing out Aftermath Foundation cards. That’s as friendly and uncontroversial an action as you could do., IMO, but of course OSA would spin it as the most heinous of ‘hate speech’
As I see it, it doesn’t have to be rushed to occur on Thanksgiving, itself. Take the time to plan it and do it anywhere in the “holiday” season, essentially now through New Year’s
Thanks for the ideas, Jere Lulle. I don’t know if Mark was going to be there for more than the one day. Since I don’t know well how this site works, I don’t know if Mark will get a notification that you have given this response to his question, so I’m going to make a comment, too, to be sure he sees what you have said.
Understood on all, Mark. A wonderful, pure intention.
You’ll never get near any Sea Org member in Clearwater or elsewhere.
As far they’re concerned, anyone who posts on Mike Rinder’s blog is a Minion of the Devil.
Mike IS the Devil 🙂
I would suggest that you bestow your caring, healing kindness and help in the spirit of Thanksgiving where it will be will accepted, understood, and appreciated.
