It was perplexing to registrars when I insisted on applying Scientology finance policy to my own finances. That’s the only thing that prevented financial disaster for my family.
Scientology finance policy doesn’t allow overspending. Money must be on hand before it can be spent. It also doesn’t allow going into debt. Good for Hubbard’s orgs but not good when used by a parishioner.
Of course registrars have lots of practice dealing with parishioners’ objections to being fleeced, but seemed especially frustrated by trying to get around my instance on standard finance policy. In the end, it always came down to saying “No”, no matter what the registrar said.
Whenever I see a scientologist referring to scientology as their church or religion as the woman does in the last panel it catches my attention. In the 1970s that would have been considered very “uncool”. “Who the heck is religious!? Wake up!”

It will be interesting to see how they react if the virus becomes widespread in California or Florida. You’d think something like that would expose how they’re just like everyone else – and maybe even more vulnerable than average do to their pseudo-science practices and anti-medical beliefs – but then again the remaining bubble dwellers seem mostly impervious to anything that might be a reality check.
The virus could take a real toll on members, staff and sea org since they have the particular risk factors of age and smoking, plus of course the sea org live in the sort of close quarters where it could spread easily. Their hypervigilance and obsessiveness has brought them a string of luck with things like the measles case on the ship, but at some point their constant existence right on the edge is going to result in one of those “black swan” events John P. Age, smoking, constant inadequate nutrition, disbelief in and disavowal of the benefits of medicine resulting in their ignoring physical conditions which require medical attention, allowing these conditions to worsen, constant stress due to financial worries, constant stress due to pressure to give of their time, money and efforts to Scientology while also having to earn their livings and support their families, constant stress due to being told that they are responsible if Scientology doesn’t make it, constant stress due to the necessity of dodging incessant demands for money, constant stress due to having to pretend to themselves and others that Scientology is expanding when they see that its actually shrinking, constant stress because they are essentially honest people who don’t want to lie, constant stress because their purposes for getting into Scientology are failing and they know it and they’re unhappy about it but at the same time expected to LOOk and act happy and “uptone”…just off the top of my head.

Might have been in Italy, but I thought-stopped myself by classing the story as “just another crazy cult getting in trouble” and didn’t bother to read the story carefully.
Probably because Dave told him about the Are Tee Cees new dating game for single but upstat Oh Tees. Each million you dono into the coffers of hell gets you a night with a reg and a get out of ethics free card.
Kind of off topic but nor really. When you are in scientology, you are always working and always broke. Last night, my husband and I were talking about his brother’s wife, who is retirement age, but is going to work for a couple more years because she wants to. He commented that she has worked since she was a teenager, except for the time she took off when the kids were born.
I said “time off when the kids were born” that would have been nice. He asked me where I worked when my kids were babies. A really innocuous question. I honestly could not remember. I have taken my scientology life and locked it away in such a deep hole in my brain that I could not break in to remember where I worked during that time.
I dug and dug in my brain and finally figured it out, then I started remembering that we only had one car which my husband, who didn’t work, had to have, so I rode the bus downtown every day. Then I remembered a lot of other stuff. The offshoot? I woke up this morning with a migraine.
Yep. No wonder I locked all that shit in a box. So glad to be out of there and that I have my service dog. Now I get to call and make an appointment with my psychologist and relive some more shit.

Oh man Val I’m so sorry, but also so impressed by all you do to deal with it vs letting it paralyze you! Always liked your avatar of the dog in the water, but now love it more! My niece has juvenile diabetes and got a service dog last year. It’s incredible the bond they have and how amazing that he’s learned to smell blood sugar changes! He’s a lifeline for her and absolutely knows it.

We have found that the best way to achieve financial affluence is to kiss the choich goodbye!! Credit score now 824, and as of about three days ago have $ 0.00 on charge cards. That’s right, no balance on charge cards. Any fellow exes can relate, I’m sure. We made the credit go creak creak, until it went CRUNCH. Now the problem is the mortgage on the house, which was nearly paid off BEFORE the idle morgue crap, it’s about 98k and dropping. But we have a big empty choich in the city, lol!
Oh, and we see current scamologists everyday, who share their stories. One said they now are at about 600k in debt. Believe me, they don’t have much to show for it either.

I can definitely relate. My finances turned around almost immediately upon leaving the cult. There was a near-magical quality to this. I left nearly 8 years ago and haven’t been broke since. Its not that I got rich – no. I earn pretty much what I used to when I was in. I just have what I need with enough left over to give me a feeling of security. I’m never stressed about money any more. Its great!
We pinch ourselves everyday. Whenever we are in a bad mood, all one of us has to say is “this could be a lot worse. We could still be donating. We could be trying to dig up 20k. We could trying to figure some monumental (I do mean Mental) registrar stupidity out.”

Then the love bombing stopped and I saw the true condition of the other Scientologists who were trained to manipulate and trick people into believing Scientology was a great church. He is allegedly spending a lot of money on donations to the Ideal Org property in St Louis, which is now being sold. A staff member told me his wife, Susan LoGrasso Heft, is going up the Bridge now, thanks to Adam’s money. So he pays to do the Havingness Rundown and throws money around the course room after throwing money down the toilet donating to a building St Louis had to have but is now being sold? Oy Vey!!! I received some promotion piece from St Louis a while ago about Adam donating a million dollars. I am thinking Adam Heft inherited the money because he is a Case Supervisor and not supervising many Pre-Clears in St Louis, other than the few staff members. Where is the money in that? I hear you and agree, Theetie. I’d like to believe that Still Ins lurk on this blog and at Tony’s, even though they don’t post. I’d like to believe it and I don’t think its far-fetched to do so. I lurked on Marty’s blog for nearly 2 years before I had the nerve to post anonymously. This was when Marty was against DM, before he flipped back to the dark side). The stories I read on that blog helped me a great deal and gave me the courage and fortitude I needed to leave.
That is exactly what happens. Many lurkers lurk UTR because every Scientologist is in doubt except for a moment when they “attest” to some “win” they are heavily invested in (money and time) so they want to be right. Their minds find something redeeming about whatever rundown or training to manipulate others gig they are involved with. No worries – that doubt comes back pretty quick.
Immediately, they will typically “key back in” because Scientology deals mainly in restimulation, never easing, never erasing.
Scientology has learned that – that behavior makes Scientology a lot more money. Scientology uses many tricks to key the Scientologist back in. Then they enforce heavy policies such as no talking about your case and to take that up in Auditing. So they use “the psychs” and are merchants of chaos and fear.

I think Marty did a lot of good exposing the church and that they got dirt on him to blackmail him with, or they threatened his family or threatened to bring out something about the adoption of his son, and then he had to do what DM said to prevent all that from coming out. Years ago he had gotten an e-meter test at the celebrity center here in Los Angeles and basically ended up arguing with the auditor who saw a barely perceptible blip on the meter and tried to make a big deal out of it (as they must) to which Handel called him out on in a “Are you kidding? sort of way. Handel walked out.
He also told his employers iHeartRadio to be on the lookout for a lawsuit from Scientology that they have to defend him from per his contract.. He talked at length about the Ventura balloon release $cientology negative PR disaster. I was really surprised to hear someone on L.A. radio in a high market profile talk down $cientology like this.

A St Louis Org staff member and hard core Scientologist, Adam Heft, is working on increasing his havingness after blowing his wad on Scientology.
He is allegedly spending a lot of money on donations to the Ideal Org property in St Louis, which is now being sold. A staff member told me his wife, Susan LoGrasso Heft, is going up the Bridge now, thanks to Adam’s money. So he pays to do the Havingness Rundown and throws money around the course room after throwing money down the toilet donating to a building St Louis had to have but is now being sold? Oy Vey!!! I received some promotion piece from St Louis a while ago about Adam donating a million dollars. I am thinking Adam Heft inherited the money because he is a Case Supervisor and not supervising many Pre-Clears in St Louis, other than the few staff members. Where is the money in that? If we report the truth about their true condition, perhaps it will help the poor sucker who gets lured into the Scientological trap and keeps them from investing and getting manipulated by the trained Scientologists. I hear you and agree, Theetie. I’d like to believe that Still Ins lurk on this blog and at Tony’s, even though they don’t post. I’d like to believe it and I don’t think its far-fetched to do so. I lurked on Marty’s blog for nearly 2 years before I had the nerve to post anonymously. This was when Marty was against DM, before he flipped back to the dark side). The stories I read on that blog helped me a great deal and gave me the courage and fortitude I needed to leave.
That is exactly what happens. Many lurkers lurk UTR because every Scientologist is in doubt except for a moment when they “attest” to some “win” they are heavily invested in (money and time) so they want to be right. Their minds find something redeeming about whatever rundown or training to manipulate others gig they are involved with. No worries – that doubt comes back pretty quick.
Immediately, they will typically “key back in” because Scientology deals mainly in restimulation, never easing, never erasing.
Scientology has learned that – that behavior makes Scientology a lot more money. Scientology uses many tricks to key the Scientologist back in. Then they enforce heavy policies such as no talking about your case and to take that up in Auditing. So they use “the psychs” and are merchants of chaos and fear.
Same here Aqua. I think Marty did a lot of good exposing the church and that they got dirt on him to blackmail him with, or they threatened his family or threatened to bring out something about the adoption of his son, and then he had to do what DM said to prevent all that from coming out. Plus they probably gave him a lot of money to go back to the dark side. His videos after that truly did look like POW videos.

Bill Handel, a host on the very popular Los Angeles KFI AM radio station, at 8 AM yesterday morning called $cientology “a total crock” on the air. This was while reporting on the Ventura Balloongate incident.
Years ago he had gotten an e-meter test at the celebrity center here in Los Angeles and basically ended up arguing with the auditor who saw a barely perceptible blip on the meter and tried to make a big deal out of it (as they must) to which Handel called him out on in a “Are you kidding? sort of way. Handel walked out.
He also told his employers iHeartRadio to be on the lookout for a lawsuit from Scientology that they have to defend him from per his contract.. He talked at length about the Ventura balloon release $cientology negative PR disaster. I was really surprised to hear someone on L.A. radio in a high market profile talk down $cientology like this.
