“Don’t disturb an enemy while he’s making a mistake.” —Napoleon. DM’s doing a fantastic job dismantling what once was scientology, saving us SPs a lot of time & effort.
What’s sort of going unsaid is that no matter how young and healthy a person may be – if they get worn down enough they become more susceptible to catching whatever is going around.
When this outbreak is all over, I hope someone will collect all statements, and information about Scientology and their denial of the coronavirus, and sell a new book about it, The first chapter would feature Grant Cardone and his belief that the US Government should not shut the economy down, but let older people die, this way he still could collect his rent money, and keep his cash cow going, since his renters would still have a job. This is scientology…
At this rate COB will have to reopen and expand The Hole. Maybe move them all to the empty floor of the Flag Building after covering the windows from the inside.
I’m preaching to the choir, and we all know the drill by now, so this is a needless comment. Stay safe by taking precautions. Coronavirus is most easily spread by the tiny droplets we all breathe in and out. It can survive on surfaces for an unknown amount of time. A mask can help protect ourselves and others.
Anyone can get Covid-19. Smoking, high BP, and diabetes are risk factors. Being in crowds increases risk of infection.
Isolate, stay home, one person only for supplies if needed, keep your distance, wear gloves, wash hands often, keep your hands away from your face, disinfect surfaces including the supplies brought in, and wear a mask around others. Masks are hard to find but easy to make.
Help yourself and your family and your community by staying home and taking sensible precautions. Find a good resource and stay up on conditions close to you and yours. Remember this will pass, but right now precautions will lead to fewer people getting infected, and fewer getting sick.
This just makes my heart ache. One of the biggest achilles heels I have forever seen in the CofS in my 53 years of being in/watching it disintegrate, is that NO ONE ever got the fact that the more you took care of the staff: trained and processed them, fed them well as a human should be, housed them in spacious, uptone surroundings, gave them liberties and the chance to bond and grow their families, etc. the more the actual org stats would raise. I say this from experience of making it happen.
The only excuse is just plain stupidity — or greed, depending if you are an exec or Tiny Fists.
If CoVid-19 goes the way it COULD go, it will severely diminish the number of staff at all orgs, Sea Org bases and missions (with ignorant mission holders).
The good that would come out of that is staff would then return to their families and a life worth living.
I’m with you. As a public for 25 years, and never staff or Sea Org (somehow I withstood the pressure and could never be recruited though twice they came perilously close to signing me up for staff) I always marveled at staff not being properly paid. If staff had been paid a living wage the orgs would have boomed. People would have been beating down the door to work in Scientology orgs and the orgs would have had their pick of the best people for tech posts and admin posts and the good people would have stayed. Some people may well have a strong desire to help others but my goodness they have to eat too! Forcing good people who want to help to work long hours for nothing – ugh, there’s so much I could say but…its just WRONG. Wrong in so many ways. And it doesn’t work. And it NEVER worked. They were ALWAYS desperate – DESPERATE – for staff. Those staff recruitment cycles – the desperation was palpable. It was like the Tone Scale film’s depiction of Needing Bodies. Seriously, it would creep me out.
Well, I knew I’d never make it on staff having to work full time there plus events plus All Hands, plus work another job to actually support myself. I KNEW I couldn’t do it, and I’ve always been a hard worker and very healthy with plenty of energy but I was under NO illusions that I could keep up that 70 hour a week pace with no days off for long. So I kept refusing, selfishly, but realistically.
“Insufficient staff pay.” That was the fundamental WHY for Multiple Sit Eval of as re “No Expansion”.
Aqua, I’m with you on that. I was public in NY in the ’70s, working with Fdn staff at a scn’s company so they could live, albeit constantly on the hairy edge of failure. Daytime, 9-5 was hard, demanding physical work, evening was hard, useless make-work which Tubby deemed “essential” even though NO one could see anything accomplished by doing it, other than the front-line: registrars, Tech staff, et al. Given the amount of money coming in, they could have paid actual sorta-living wages and staff wouldn’t have had to “moonlight”. At Flag, we all could have lived in not-filthy quarters and slept & eaten reasonably well. I got into a habit at Flog of taking what would now be called “power naps” after meal breaks. That kept me a little more sane at the time.
I’m not a medical person but just from the simple reading I’ve been doing even I know that Covid-19 is mostly NOT spread from touching surfaces but person to person. That’s why we have to stay 6 feet away from one another. We can be in a hospital clean environment but if one person is infected and close enough to another, the minute moisture droplets in the air just from the person speaking can infect someone close enough. And coughing and sneezing obviously would make it more likely. This virus is like no other flu virus in that it is highly contagious. That’s why the social distancing has to be mandated until a vaccine is developed. We’re all wiping down the necessary surfaces regularly with Lysol and other disinfectants etc but without social distancing the virus can still easily spread.
Aqua one could be immersed up to the neck in these products but if someone sneezes nearby it is possible that one gets infected. Among other things, in China it seems that they have not considered asymptomatic people and have the risk that the infection can resume. In sea org they can spread everything they want but if they don’t keep their distance they are in trouble.
Aqua, I’m also not a medical person, but I believe you’ve got the right sense of things. scn’s obsession with sanitizing hard surfaces IS counter-productive. That they’re doing so in large groups of sleep-deprived and poorly-fed staff exacerbates the probability that one carrier getting in there will blossom into a full hot-spot of contagion, quite likely infecting all of them at once. Then infecting the flu-sufferers in “Iso” and on, and on, and on. I pity the poor crew. Always do, when I get a chance to compare my lives during and after scientology. Life is SO much ore fulfilling and FUN, now that I’m out. The major not-fun I get these days is contemplating what those still “in” are going through for NOTHING.

Has anyone noticed the new Bellaire Mission ? They moved into a building a mile up the road on West Bay,into a new building that looks to be about 5 times bigger. Funny thing is. There are absolutely no signs anywhere to show what it is. No mention of Scientology,Dianetics or the word Mission. Nothing, just a cross. Why the Hell would they need a bigger building ? Could it be that the ED saw the movie Field Of Dreams ,and was inspired to expand (” build it , and they will come”)? Maybe so many people are getting kicked out of Flag these days that Bellaire Mission is standing room only ?
I’m really curious to know how that new bldg and “Ideal Mission” came about. Adrianna (the ED) and Miscavige are tight. I’m pretty sure this was his idea because this is the (somewhat) new game – Ideal Missions – and Belleair Mission was the “Ideal” candidate. Clearwater Mission was forced to close; putting their members (all 5 of them) into the Belleair Mission. All the Flag rejects get sent to Belleair Mission or Tampa Org and Belleair Mission is closer to home for most of these. Then there are those local public that would rather be “on lines” at the mission rather than Flag because the scheduling is easier and one doesn’t get regged as much as they would at Flag.
BUT! and this is a BIG BUT! I do not believe they are doing all that well even considering the above facts. When I was there in my final days, the courseroom (albeit a small one) might have been pretty full some of the time but as Adrianna said to me “We’re No 1 and we suck!”
I wonder if that nebulized peroxide and ozone spray can be used to cleanse those on OT levels of all their BT’s? THINK OF ALL THE HOURS OF SOLO SELF HYPNOTIZING THAT COULD SAVE! Or is the the secret of OT9,10 ,11 and 12?

I feel bad for the sea org members. They are the most abused people of all in this “church”. Free labor and no idea they can leave.
Sarita. They actually know that they can leave. But they all think that leaving would be the greatest ‘overt’ (sin) they can ever be doing. Such a big sin that one couldn’t recover from it. They are there to clear the planet and this section of the galaxy. No joke a true believe.
Yes, they know they can leave and don’t or won’t due to their “Prison of Belief”. This puts into play the old saw: “The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions”. Their belief is their trap, and their trap is their hell.
Aqua. This is why I often say that is an implant. It is like having a coat that keeps you away from reality. It took me more than ten years after leaving the SO to wake up. And this blog who comments and Leah videos helped me a lot.
I wonder what Scientologists who are still doing Survival Rundown (CCHs 1-4, 6-9) and all the processes that require touching, and Touch Assists and Nerve Assists, are thinking.
TR’s 3, 4, 7 and 9, all require touching. Hubbard has so many touching drills and processes. Required, they’d quicking their training, they have do the touching to perfect their “control” skills.
Well, the governor of FL just ruled that religions are “essential services” and they can have services (and gather) or whatever else they effing want to do. No more arrests like was done in Hillsborough County of that pastor that held a service. I wonder how the hospital down the street would feel about that if there is a major outbreak at Flag. It’s a crazy mixed up world.
So maybe RB you could do a strip on some senior telling SO members to stop cleaning and get back to writing letters or regging the hell out of the one or two people that come in the front doors or to get out there and go door to door and get these dilettantes back into Flag. These are all “essential services.”
It is baffling . A good friend told me yesterday that the spread of the virus in France started in the North , when some church , not the main ones , gathered 2000 people and some of them were sick . And there you go ! Essential service ?
Meanwhile, I’m SURE that I’ve read in the New Testament (somewhere) that Jesus Christ said that no one needs a building (I’m paraphrasing) in order to connect with God, that you can pray to God ANYWHERE. From my long ago Sunday School days I KNOW I’ve read that someplace in the New Testament. Maybe some of these Libertarian types who hate the government telling them what to do should actually READ the New Testament and find where JC says this and then they’d feel better about social distancing and “attending” virtual church services.
Matthew 6:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Note. If someone was thinking of enlisting in the sea org one day, just think twice. It is not a free criticism. Just think that if the condition of the berthings has been the same for about 50 years and they don’t solve it, what tech they REALLY have to clear up a planet and a part of the galaxy. Honestly.
That’s what I was thinking. If two people are talking about what’s crazy about what they were being forced to do, including going without sleep, how long would it be before they feel like they could mutually conclude that what they are being forded to do has nothing to do with clearing a planet?
I loved the last one where the wife walked out of the room with a threat to her idiot husband. She finally got it. He probably never will. I hope somewhere out there that this may be happening with at least one real life couple. She’s ready to move on, or maybe it’s a he who’s ready to move on, but that’s a chink in DM’s armor either way. It could get more people questioning the insanity of staying in this cult.
I hope that Mary’s son, or Mike’s son, or the family member of anyone here who has been forced to disconnect begins to really question what’s really going on. At least that would be a start to being able to walk out that door, and there are loved ones out there who would open their homes to them in a heartbeat. They are not afraid of the big bad DM, he’s already done his worst and they all survived.

The thing is, it is also POISONOUS. You can read about it at the EPA website: https://www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/ozone-generators-are-sold-air-cleaners
But to save you the trouble, this is one of the columns on the table you find at this site:
Potential risk of experiencing:
Decreases in lung function
Aggravation of asthma
Throat irritation and cough
Chest pain and shortness of breath
Inflammation of lung tissue
Higher susceptibility to respiratory infection
Hardly sounds like something compatible with a respiratory virus.

Throw everything out and just do the Survival Rundown over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over and wait for the cognition.
Aquamarine says
LOLOL! Thanks for the laugh, OSD! But then, joking aside, you may not be far wrong!
Aquamarine says
By the way, where is Wynski?
Wynski, are you alright?
You are missed 🙂
How is the girl? Hope she’s OK.
Thinking of you, Wyn.
I even have the effrontery to send you a cyber hug 🙂
Old Surfer Dude says
Leave it to me: HEY Winski!!! Get your lazy butt up and out of bed! Geez! Do I have to do everything?!
Newcomer says
Just be sure you wear a mask!
Chris Baranet says
“You look at that wall, Thank you.
Walk over to that wall. Thank you.
Wipe that wall with some Clorox, then touch that wall. Thank you”.

It is always a pleasure to remember how certain things went in the SO. What times ….

Note. If someone was thinking of enlisting in the sea org one day, just think twice. It is not a free criticism. Just think that if the condition of the berthings has been the same for about 50 years and they don’t solve it, what tech they REALLY have to clear up a planet and a part of the galaxy. Honestly.

Run for your lives ladies. Run for your lives.
