I’m the eternal optimist but I’m thinking that quite soon, the disconnection policy will have to be abolished due to the terribly bad publicity it’s getting worldwide.
Being a big believer in group therapy, RG is just hit after hit… Never been a scientologists, but been following since 2008 since I became a victom of disconnection from some control freak Lutherians…. I still didn’t see the twist until the last panel…excellent !! Laughter is the best theropy …. Mikes group here helps more then scientologists….just saying…..
I had a cognition when the lady spoke about not being able to drive through Clearwater. For a long time I have wondered why the traffic in downtown Denver is so heavy, this made me cognite that it is due to the presence of the Denver Ideal Org.
Maybe its easier to see being an outsider and having internet access that COS leadership is lying hugely to its members. Why they are able to believe all the bs they are fed is truly baffling. When I last visited the local org. and asked why there was nobody in there when decades ago it was hopping, the receptionist/greeter told me there were hundreds of people doing course work. And staff? The 81 staff on the list he tried to show me were also in the course rooms. Of course this was one of Chris Shelton’s communication killers (forget the name he used). The COS staff guy knew it was a lie and I knew you would have to be blind to figure that if hundreds of people were there there would be some sign of foot traffic and people smoking outside. So I said yeh sure and pretended to look at their lame display. Another time seeing us read a sign on the sidewalk a “minister” came out and invited me in for their sunday service, which was supposed to have started fifteen minutes prior but the chapel door was open and nobody there. She admitted it was quiet but it was because everybody was on summer holidays. Yeh sure. According to her the church was growing fast and working exactly as LRon had wanted it to. How did she know what he would have wanted the church to be like now? Because they all follow exactly what he laid down. Seems like an endless cycle of lie/deny/ignore the obvious just like Regraded Being’s characters do. The psychological toll of keeping up that pretense must be be very intense
Tony-b, good points. RB has it down well. The ones still-in that I see have very different situations. One has a daughter on staff and a wife still playing. He sees the relentless shift away from what he has been used to for some 25 years or so. He feels he can’t do anything, but also does not want to look too closely, because he knows where that will lead. He soldiers on.
Another sees the rot, but has a daughter in the Sea Org. They are very close. He pays lip service. No longer donating, keeps busy, does not attend meeting or events. His wife is a player.
Another has tried to get his daughter in for years and finally got her to take services. She is enjoying it. Now he is stuck. She has serious issues and feels, better the devil you know…..doesn’t see an alternative, fearing she will slip back into the deep hole she previously occupied.
RB echoes some of the private chats I have been party to, with some of these people.
Gradually, we all become withdrawn to a point that our own disagreements are so common that we can no longer stay on the fence, and we start letting it out among those we communicate with. Nevertheless being careful, because of family members. In the end most today are in this sad state. Out but socially IN. Putting up an OK face.
Your viewpoint is quite correct because it is yours…after all you are The God of Your Universe. I have a similar view but it is changing as to openly communicating my views to others… this I recently realized. As a token, I no longer fear the consequences of letting know my identity here… I feel it my right and my responsibility to openly show my real colors without concern for reprisals and in spite of consequences for the part of my family that continues to sleeps inside the church. I guess it`s my rebel blood or just tired of waiting… see, it is too low on the Tone Scale. I intend this as a good example, for nothing of value ever came out of lack of guts. As a Founding IAS Patron, Old Timer, auditor, et al… I OWN THIS RIGHT!
I long for and look forward to freer times and happy faces, Outside The Prison of Belief.
Hi Alfonso Esteban, I am pleased to meet you. If you do not mind,I send you love ,light, hope and yes laughter for your spirit as you walk the path so many of us walk here.Away from the dark of Ron and dm, into the light of freedom and true humanity amoung true friends seekers and us darn defrocked bitter apostate SP DBs. Welcome to the family! Always & love,Ann.
I’m UTR due to the fact that I have a child to get out of the sea org. However, by my removing myself from the premises of the cherch, its courses, fundraisers and events, I know my absence speaks volumes. I was once very active, always on course, always at events. My absence says a lot. For one thing, my former friends have all disconnected. I haven’t been labelled yet which was the intention by quietly removing myself as I want communication with my child while I have a plan to execute.
How many clams actually trust their perhaps second or third clam wives enough to be as honest as RB postulates today? These clams aren’t under the radar, they are willing inmates in the concentration camp! Dichotomies do add up and eventually most clams escape. And escape it is.
A little off topic but I just had to share this with you guys. I just had a massively epic and MEGGA win! I could never reconcile LRH’s article on What Is Greatness and the Fair Game policy until I cognited that Ron is teaching us about Tough Love! I am so blown out!!!!!
Wow, Sleepy! Good for you! You’ve probably exteriorized already! I’m so jealous! How much did it cost you? Well, whatever it was, I’m sure it was worth it.
Do you really think that “still ins”, at least some of them, have that going on? I really don’t know as I left as soon as I “saw the light” and those I know who are still in, long ago severed ties with me.
Hurricane Leah? A little sneeze, a hiccup, a bump in the road. Hurricane Ron!? OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT……! Epic, monumental, unprecedented, Earth-shattering…. No, Earth DESTROYING, Earth obliterating, Earth castrating, Earth masturbating, Earth quivering, Earth shivering, Earth undulating, Earth wiggling, Earth quaking, Earth shaking, Earth rattling, Earth wiggling, Earth…. something. Nose-picking?
I never thought I’d be thanking Ron for something ever again, but here goes: THANKS RON!!! No, not Hubbard, you pervs, Miscavige! Holy cow, and holy “what the cow stepped in”! Here I am thanking someone named “Miscavige” for something. EEEYOW! These are strange times we live in
James you of all people should realize that masturbation is a cardinal sin in CoS. Why would you spend time and effort on a CI activity when you could just as-is those feelings away? Naughty James, best move up in status ASAP or off to Ethics you go…
James, I’ve got to side with Scott on this one. My advice to you is always keep your hands above your waist. I know it’s tempting to give the little guy a tug, but, one tug always leads to another. And another. And another. And another. Use your Super Pooper Powers to become free! I hope you make it.
Hi Scott and O.S. Dude, my attempt at humor was a little over the top. I apologize if I have given offense. It is my fondest wish to contribute worthwhile ideas to this blog, and some laughter as well. It was the great Mel Brooks who got people laughing at NAZIs. While there isn’t much to laugh at in the Co$ now, after the collapse there will be plenty. And by laughing at the Co$, we educate about the Co$ in ways that will lessen the pain. The idea is, look back at our times in the Co$ with new perspective and say “It was torture then, but it’s funny now”. Now laugh damnit, or I’m putting you into a lower condition and sending you to the MAA!
Hi James hollingsworth, I went to the Ethics Officer for the millionth time and got listed, sec-checked,did A-Z got beat up literally and mentally with false knowledge reports and hey,I can Laugh about it now which is really good for me.On dark and stormy and sometimes soul-searching nights, seeing all this not fun,but your posts and every post here pushes me forward.Laugh On and let’s tear the walls down! Love,Ann.
Regraded Being, right on point as always. That seems to be what the situation is these days. I also want to say that this weeks strip is visually very pretty, love the colors. Hoping all families with disconnected members are able to reunite, and soon. – T.J.
Hi RB, Your posts grab my heart one minute and have me very sad the next! What a roller coaster ride and I love and deeply appreciate the time, the energy and your brilliance in mixing it all together on Mike’s Blog.It is a privilege for me to have you here on Fridays.Always love,Ann.
Totally syncs with Jeff Augustine’s article today at The Bunker, saying when a Scientologist leaves the church it is important to send a letter withdrawing consent to be subjected to its rules. Legal minds will presumably let us know if that could work to protect those of us represented by the cartoon character worried about embarrassing or traumatic public exposure of our peccadillos.
You can do that but for the most part it is wishful thinking that it will bind the church in its activities (unless it’s Oklahoma and very specific actions, even then the CoS would appeal to Fed Court). Certainly won’t hurt but, it will NOT enable one to sue based on PAST donations, fraud ,etc. where one agreed to Church arbitration (based on recent ruling we all watched). It will also not stop the church from telling current members about you leaving the church and not being in good standing, etc.
Best to seek legal advise about any situation with an atty that is experienced in that area of law that also practices in your jurisdiction.
And for those truly dedicated ones, who are not in doubt like the wobbly ones in RB’s panels, if you donate a million dollars before the sixty-sixth anniversary of Dianetics on May 9, you will receive a personal commendation from COB and a commemorative pin, letting your fellow Scientologists and the whole world know that you have achieved the status of Patron Unprecedentus Total Zealot. You are now an honest to goodness PUTZ!
Marvelous, as always, RB! I suspect you’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. What am I saying??? You always do! It must be getting like Soviet Russia or living in China. Watching every word and expression, fearful of being overheard, not trusting even one’s own family, much less friends.
The true state of Scientology: Everyone living in fear and lying to one another to keep the charade going.
I hope 2016 will bring more ‘lurkers’ and ‘under the radars’ out of shadows. I know it may be the scariest jump some of you ever take but the net of support outside the bubble will be there to catch you, this I know.
Makes you wish there were some kind of secret sign they could make to signal each other their common feelings. It would have to be something allowing plausible deniability, in case signaling the wrong people. How many people are performing this kabuki? 30% of remaining Public? 70%? Miscavige is walking a razor’s edge right now.
