It’s a fine line between satire and the truth sometimes. With Scientology there is no real distinction between the two, it just depends how seriously stupid you are. RB, it’s like you know my family personally.
Apparently, what’s said in the car, stays in the car. It’s the last bastion of freedom of the mind for the Scientologist. For it’s only in the car does a Scientologist has a semblance of true interaction with the real world using shared intelligence. Wana bet Dave cognites he needs to bug all vehicles – such an untapped source of valuable sec check material.
Good one RB!
I’ll never forget one night when we were driving home in the car after an IAS Fundraiser and she gave me the 3rd degree as I donated using one of our 13 almost maxed out credit cards. She would have preferred a new dress or some nice jewelry.
Just a thought…If it’s true that Hubbard secretly perpetuated a con, after he died and COB took over, did Davie knowingly keep the con going, or, is he a True Believer? Wonder if he looks at these people achieving “super states”, and think “wonderful” or, “there goes another sap”. Seriously.
Do you really think Dave would ever reach for auditing? No matter what you think of the tech, one thing is absolute – Dave doesn’t want anything except what he’s already got and lots more of it.
What a horrible dark thought. Imagine handing the cans over to Dave and saying TITS… only to look up and see his beady little eyes staring back at you!!!
I know it’s not popular. But I think Davey is a true believer. I think the con depends on the operator being a believer. When I was in I knew ranking members who didn’t want auditing. A person could have a lot of overts they don’t want to talk about, and still think Scientology makes sense. Then find a way to justify not getting auditing. Like, when you join the Sea Org you automatically go OT. On top of that you are the 2nd biggest being in the universe.
Geezers… the mind of Miscavige… I don’t think you need to know anything about Scilion tech to know it’s a dark horrible place. You just can’t hurt that many people and keep on doing it without serious blackness of heart.
This one is for Rob Williamson.Good to meet you.My thought on your interesting comment would be David has two faces. The public face that says he is a True Believer and the private face that says there goes another sap either as a paying whale or new Sea Org member. He has no shame about anything.?
Rob, I think Dave started realizing he’d been con’ed when he searched and found that Hubbard did NOT produce any OT levels (that really produced any real results) and had died a NON OT, psychotic wreck.
Since then he has perpetuated the Con to stay in power. Thus, he would also stop wasting his time personally participating in the scam like a sheep.
Are you serious? You could buy a book from them, that would get you on their mailing list and you would never hear the last of it – they have tracked people down who have had nothing to do with scn for 30 years.
Scott B – it’s easy. Get a stress test and filling out your address when they ask (they always ask), or do an online personality test, or fill out a ‘want more info’ from any of the books, or call and ask for the addresso officer (it’s his stat). You may not be happy with the amount of mail you get but you will get a mag or 2 🙂
I walked past the London Org building earlier and there were two male staff messing around in the foyer of the building, literally tickling each other. The woman in reception did not look happy. Can I assume she’s going to write them up for having ‘fun’ (however strange two males tickling each other is?!!!)
Regraded Being always hits it home. I like those little personal touches that send a message too, like the “chains across the world” in the IAS symbol. I saw at another site how some people give millions to the IAS and the church, so I wonder why they still pressure average members for funds? Shouldn’t those multi-millions dollar donations be used at least a little bit, to subsidize members who can’t afford to pay for the bridge? Why the never-ending push for more money? Isn’t it time to use the existing money to help people, at least their own members, instead of buying more and more empty buildings?
You have a lot to learn about scientology – them subsidizing people – not going to happen, the push for money in scn is unrelenting, I used to go in and get hassled for ideal org, ias, to buy books I didn’t want, donations to the course room so they could replace dictionaries, the way to happiness, and if I was really lucky the regge trying to convince me to pay in $000’s for my next course or level – even though I already had thousands on account – they needed money to pay the rent!
Right… that’s the question. Why do they do this, harass average members for more money than they can comfortably afford, when the big donors give millions. It only alienates Scientologists, and the dwindling member base shrinks even further.
They don’t have to keep on pushing members for every last cent when they have reserves in the millions or multi-millions. This never ending push to give more money, all the time, seems to be cited very often as a reason that people quit the Church of Scientology.
I was frequently astounded my last five years in how much it seemed that staff didn’t care if they “lost me.” The problem is that have been given quotas that keep them in an unrelenting mindset. The consequences of not making quotas is worse than losing the parishioner. At least for now.
Doctrine of Exchange. It’s so convenient. It’s also why Scientology officially does nothing for sick, homeless or disadvantaged people, and tries so hard to make their “social betterment programs” appear effective, as if giving away pamphlets (that parishioners have to pay for) is going to impact anything.
This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever done in Scientology. It’s like the whole bridge up to this point was a tiny speck in the firmament of my knowingness and now the depth and breadth of eternity have finally been revealed to me in all their epicness. My space is HUGE and I have the ability to create a new universe just by changing my consideration. I felt like I was right there with LRH when I audited the final step. I now have total certainty that I’m cause over life (cough, cough). In closing, I’d like to thank COB for making the tech available to all of us, for without him, the incredible wins I’ve had would factually have been impossible. I’ve never known a more compassionate and glorious being, and believe me, from my experiential whole track adventures, I’ve met them all. From the front porch of eternity to the back roads of infinity, thank you, thank you sir!!!
ha! kool-aid, lol. 🙂 you guys are funny! I get daily giggles from reading your posts. I like it! What would life be without being able to look on the funny side and see humor in the little things. Love y’all, best wishes for a happy weekend!
Thanks for your kind remarks TJ. I only wish David miscavige had a better sense of humor.

Kool-aid huh? My supply of that spoiled a long time ago. Wonder if cal-mag would substitute?
Made me think of a Scilion cocktail tho. I part Kool-aid, one part single malt, three parts cash, 4 cc’s, 2 bank accounts, one family, add a generous amount of friends. Mix till indistinguishably messy, then throw it all under a bus – enjoy undiluted.
Ah, the mindset of the cave-dwelling clam: Everything good in life is because of Scientology and must be praised to the rafters. Everything bad in life is your fault, you must take responsibility for it, and you must self-flagellate until you can find a way using Scientology to make it right. What a wonderful way to construct a dependency culture. For an organization that excoriates drugs, even legal ones, they do a magnificent job making their “parishoners” into addicts.
Agreed Espiando. If things go wrong it is all your fault – your fault and your SP family member that read Going Clear! Disconnecting from loved ones that support you really gets you on track to 47X expansion on all dynamics. The added bonus of losing supportive loved ones is that it strengthens one’s dependency on the cult and fellow cult members.
“Cause Over Life” or ‘Cause over Lie’? No one is at ’cause over life’, you just have to experience it and do your best. Not that doing your best will help you. There is always some clown trying to suck the life and money out of your life. You can blame the IRS or your church or that ‘prosperity preacher’ who needs your ‘prosperity’ to preach.
How tight do the blinders have to be to ignore all the contradictions in $cieno life?
It all just makes me so glad I got out in the early 80s, disappeared, was able to continue living quietly without harassment. They still have my address but I only get 3 or 4 mailings a month and they go straight into the recycle bin on my way back to the house.
It was a seminal moment for me when I realised I should NOT try be sincere in my success stories and speeches. I am one of these people who writes much better than I talk, so I started writing out prepared speeches, and I found the less sincere I was the better they went over, and in fact even my delivery was better. By the way I really scored on this count when my mother-in-law died. I went on the Internet, downloaded the sort of flattering speech you’re supposed to give, tailored it a bit and it went down a bomb! Out of a sense of guilt I spent the first 30 seconds ‘speaking from the heart’ and rambled on – but even that worked because family thought I was all cracked up with emotion (haha).
The same thing happened in scn and ultimately led to me being here. I really couldn’t think of any wins to share on OT7 so did what I normally do in such situations – I went on the Internet and looked for inspiration. And what did I find – YOU!!
Now that’s what I call a REAL success story! Communication may indeed be the universal solvent, but it’s only as effective as it is delivered with humility, compassion and humor…a true trifecta of talent that RB achieves every Friday, right here on Mike’s blog. Here’s to the hope that more and more of the $cn-afflicted wognite on the reality of what $cn actually stands for before their bank accounts are completely drained and their families become estranged (clink, clink).
I’d love to see a book of RB’s collected works made available in print and/or download form! I’d be eager to help support this light-hearted, but very important contribution to clearing the planet of the scourge of $cn!
Wow… that’s good Dr Mac! I find it a lot easier to write with leisure than to talk too.
Your post did give me a horrible realization though. Imagine if all the SS’s you’ve ever written were chronologically arranged and put into an easy reading or a well presented utube format. You’ll pay anything not to have that spread around publicly. Or you’d be forced to disappear the person who presented it.
I really don’t know how I’d react to something like that over reasonable a period of time. Biggest roller coaster of my life I would imagine, coming up with rationalizations for such a thing.
So you quit after OT7 because of the internet? That is quite a success I’d say, clearly you were not that impressed with the level if you had nothing positive to say about it in the first place.
Despite spending a fortune in scn I never made it past the lower grades, so not as far to fall, I would never have made it to ot7 anyway, after experiencing it a few times I realized I hated auditing, giving away so much personal information to strangers never seemed liked a good idea.
I think we have all been there – in front of a group of people lying about the wonderful gains we achieved from some course or level. I really had to dig deep sometimes to come up with something other than the truth. The worst one for me was the PDC lectures, I had to go back over several of the transcripts so I could even remember what the heck I’d listened to, only then could I pluck out a few quotes to include in my ‘success story’ and subsequent speech.
