RB, this was perfect. It precisely duplicates the kinds of conversations I had with staff and public in the end. Stubbornly, I continued to communicate, calmly, clearly (I worked on achieving such tones) what I was observing. Stubbornly, they continued to effectively tell me I either had MUs or I was out ethics. “Treasonous eyes”. Yes! Seeing what I saw, what I observed, and my communicating about it, was TREASON in the eyes of this group! I would observe their reactions, so polar opposite to the reactions I expected from those well versed in Scientology tech. It was so like what you’ve depicted here, RB. When I observed those reactions, I never said much, never said what I was really thinking to any of them, but it blew my mind. It still does.
The only person I ever communicated too about the insanity I saw was my husband. He then insisted my ‘PR’ was my problem and insisted I send my KRs about management via him for editing LOL I thought he was correct well he was but my PR was not the problem 🙂

The calls don’t stop, and Frank and his wife make the conscious decision to not go in. Pretty soon, that “break” from Scientology becomes a permanent break, and Frank ends up discovering this blog and starts posting here about how Ethics behave like a bunch of chimps, throwing shit against the wall until something sticks (and stinks). Meanwhile, we get entertained by Frank’s postings and he becomes a regular here.
Amazing how it has gone down hill. In the old days missions and orgs were crowded. You could even take family or friends to an org and the atmosphere was friendly. Academy levels were not that expensive and you could co-audit. Then L Ron’s dark side and greed spoiled the scene and Miscavige the new dictator took over and continued making things worse. Doug, I still sputter mentally when I have to confront this sort of blindness. I don’t get it, I really, really don’t.
My only answers come when dig deep into myself to recall a few times in my life when I didn’t see what was right in front of me and apparent to everyone in the vicinity but me.
There have been several times like that for me – thank God, not too many – but at those times, when I did not perceive what was in hindsight glaringly plain, there was a common denominator linking instances that differed widely in all other ways. The common denominator to my stupid blindness during these times was wanting something, needing something, very much. I either wanted a situation to be a certain way, or a person to be a certain way. I actually decided beforehand about these instances. My mind was made up, my picture was there, and these situations and people had to fit my picture…something like that. I mean, it was beyond dumb, because dumb and/or ignorant can be understood and forgiven, and I was neither. What I was, was delusional, and I had my reasons for being delusional. Long story. I don’t recommend clinging to delusions. When they crumble there is no worse disappointment, or, if you will, heartbreak, than the realization that you have been “looking” at someone or something and not seeing what, or who, was there, but instead, you’re own picture of that person or thing.
In my own defense, my departing Scientology was not one of these types of experiences. For years I was merely ignorant about the abuses going on, the off policy, the out ethics of this cult. When finally, by accident, I caught on, and became very alert to it. I had already learned my difficult lesson about delusion.
I believe that this is pre-GAT II tech, the result of suppressive transcriptionists distorting the sacred words of Founder and Source, L. Ron Hubbard. The corrected version of this actually reads, “listen, don’t look.” There were no semi-colons involved here, just pure suppression plain and simple.
To get right down to ‘basic-basic’ on the chain, one would have to LOOK for the research that is the foundation of the subjects of dianetics and scientology. Finding none (because there wasn’t any), one would have to logically conclude that it would be foolish to LISTEN to any of the subsequent nonsense emanating from ‘Source’. This can be summed up in the immortal (but paraphrased) words of Jason Beghe, “show me one motherfucking clear.” Jason was operating off of pre-GAT II tech and LOOKING, not LISTENING. Another victim of suppression who has lost his way and his eternity. Just like the rest of us here who have distorted the holy writ.
