“I need you to come up to Present-Time for just five seconds so you can tell me if you’d rather talk about Tom Cruise or get laid.”
That’s really the crux of the issue, and what went wrong with the church, in one line: it IS all about reality of self-determinism, not follow-the-leader. You have the weird conflict – one that should not exist – between the WOG world and the Co$ world, the lay and the clergy (no pun intended , but sometimes it would seem God Himself intervenes).
Getting into Scientology, studying it, getting auditing, learning to audit, is all self-determined. The minute it is NOT self-determined, it is no longer Scientology. The whole purpose is to get the individual back to himself, NOT “back to Scientology” as it were. L. Ron Hubbard the personality and shoes and hair uniforms and deodorant and all, be darned! (not really). The guy made the most important discoveries about life itself ever made, and that’s what I am interested in: to take those and use them for MY life, and hopefully get it right. Selfish? Yeah, I guess so! I get a lot of joy out of auditing and helping someone else get their ducks in a row.
People who were studying Scn in the 1950’s through the mid-1970’s said, “If it isn’t fun, it isn’t Scientology.” They were in it because they wanted to be in it. I believe Hubbard said that Scientology is not an “ivory tower” – it is about real life.
Hilarious strip, beautifully done. And a LOT of wisdom in it!
Thanks RB. That one’s exceptional!
If someone ever asks, “what’s Scientology?” that is what I would like to show them, and I’d add that no further explanation is necessary. The responses to you will be real there, not scripted as you will get in their Churches or websites.

This house of cards has a pretty weak foundation. Everyday it feels to me like another card is being pulled from the bottom. I wonder if this whole think will collapse in some scary cataclysm or just fizzle out slowly over time. Either way, it feels like something is giving/buckling. I feel so sad for those poor saps still in this cult, and for those ex-members who gave so much of themselves over the years. Don’t feel bad, however, as most “WOGS” want to help you recover. Just ask them and you’ll see.
Imagine how much good will would be shown to celebrities like Cruise and Travolta if they held a press conference to announce their departure from the cult? The world would LOVE that! Look how much good that has happened since Leah Remini broke loose.
On another note, does anybody else wonder if Miscavige just cringes every time he looks out his window to see “WOGS”, or even his own cult members, walking around with cel phones, with the whole internet at their disposal to reveal the evil of the cult? He must be living in a sick world of absolute paranoia.
I have wondered about celebrity departures, too. How hard would it be? I personally don’t care about other peoples’ private lives, really really dislike hearing details, and I always thought using it against someone was the height of bad taste. Step away. Its 40 years later. Wogworld will not care.
WAYC–no need to wonder. To him everyone is an asshole, very far beneath him, to be controlled, stepped on, used as a peon in any way possible. The internet is an asshole too, A&E is an asshole, you name it. There is only one person on the planet who can do anything with these totally incompetent failures who don’t even deserve to be in the same building as he is, and it’s him. Apparently, Elron suffered in shame and self-loathing as a teen and young adult for his chronic and obsessive masturbatory habits, so that now every true believer $cilon must suffer for them too until the end of time (or until you escape the cult).
That would be bad enough just by itself, but not only do you catch Elron’s case for being a compulsive wanker, you also end up with his much crazier case as a mentally ill individual who’s possessed by tons of imaginary space alien spirits that must be telepathically exorcised in order to make spiritual gains. Never mind that not a single person who’s chumped for this whacked nonsense and finally exorcised all of the many BTs that possessed them has ever demonstrated any of the OaTy abilities that have been promised.
Just to turn all of this ridiculous and delusional space opera nonsense on its head, consider this point of comparison: Would it be any more ridiculous or deluded to imagine that every time that you masturbate these BTs are being directly expelled, so that dedicated wankers like Elron are actually progressing on the path to spiritual freedom with every stroke they take?
Sure, that’s fucking nuts, but is it any more nuts than believing in the Xenu myth and spending years and hundreds of thousands of dollars imagining that you’re infested by tons of space alien spirits who must be exorcised in order for you to recover your true super being powers and God-like abilities?
If you stop for a moment and consider both scenarios from an unbiased perspective, they’re equally bizarre and objectively unsupported assertions. So, why would anyone of normal intelligence chump for either of these completely improbable fairy tales? The answer to that important question goes to the heart of understanding how insidious and sophisticated the long con of Scn truly is!
The best way to keep young folks from falling victim to this very dangerous scam may be to follow RB’s lead in rising their awareness of how little they’ll be getting laid once they’re in the cult.
Yes, its pathetic, so many of them marry in order to have sex. So in that’s sense, its marrying for convenience. Then, down the road, they divorce for convenience. They’ll tell you their “admin scales changed”. Essentially what they’re practicing is cult-sanctioned, legal promiscuity. That’s Sea Org marriage for you.
Jack Parsons, an occultist and one of the founders of NASA’s jet propulsion lab, believed that quantum physics would prove the existence of magic. Parsons professed to embody an entity named Belarion Armillus Al Dajjal, the Antichrist “who am come to fulfill the law of the Beast 666”
This should have been in the Porkeys movies. You could even disguise the $cienoes as Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses.
By messing with the sexual desires of people, $cientology tries to substitute Lron’s wit and wisdom for sex. A lot of people are going to run away because of that. But many will stay and substitute hard work and total dedication for a ‘2d relationship’. Sad, very sad…
I remember back in the day when some, who were not OT, would boast that they were having a 2d with an OT. It was similar to a fan saying they had sex with the celebrity they admired.
When I look at it with a critical eye, I see that the grade chart, to a large degree, is an ego status assignment system.
You get an ego label that only has value in the group.
It’s possible, that the higher up a person goes in this ego status assignment system, the more they experienced a “missed withold.” (I still use that term as it does describe that phenomenon)
The missed withold is that these folks have not attained any super powers. But those on the lower bridge think they have attained it.
And because Scientologists are barred from any critical analysis of OTs or auditing by threat of punishment, OTs are caught in this delusional identity that they have to maintain because they are now examples of the ” perfect 100% standard tech.
It’s all imagination. An ego status.
Ron accomplished this magic trick through Altitude Instruction.
Far far from liberating souls from ignorance and entrapment, Scientology makes you more ignorant and entrapped.
Indeed, once you’ve false attested to having completed the OaTy levels and gained the promised abilities, your life as a supposedly spiritually advanced superhuman being is just one long series of ongoing overts, stemming from masquerading as something that you’re not, just as Elron himself did his entire life!
Very funny and very sad all at once RB. In this piece you have the gift of scrambling the speech patterns of the two Sea Orgers perfectly. Alot of talk about getting laid in SO even back in my time, not much action because finding an empty space at the Hollywood Cockroach Inn was not easy. The attic was the place and that attic was creepy! Monsters peering over the stacks of clothes those who blew had left behind ,thrown there.2D in the Sea Org was totally messed up and then some. I wondered if Old Ron did not set up couples in order to split them up if one half was deemed Out Ethics. Dm certainly enjoys causing pain and suffering to those couples he does not want to succeed. The thing is those of us in the 70s and early 80s tolerated Ron and he laid the blueprint for dm to take up and make his own. To be out of all Scientology is to face a cool wind of freedom blasting all the grit of slavery to the cult out of me forever. I so so wish those in could experience this. And it has taken 43 years for me to reach this step on my path! So to all just out or lurking or UTR keep going. Together we will prevail. ?
Makes me chuckle that, “I left the physical universe.” If you did that, how in the world would we know about it if you’re still here to tell us? Is it like making a long distance phone call or something? Maybe we should ask such marvels of wonder, where does someone go when they are asleep? Even my neighbor’s aging cat is as OT as they are, in fact more so, it sleeps all the time!
Great dialogue and insight into the warped reality spawned by a warped cosmology called, “scientology”. S.O. staff are exotic birds who can’t live outside their cages. Their wings are useless as they’ve forgotten how to fly. They don’t even know what flying is.
Oh they have the tech on getting laid all right. YOu just tell the women you are OT. Then they are like groupies with a hot band member. They can’t wait to tell their girlfriends that their new boyfriend “is an OT.”
“I wonder about T.C.’s problem.” I suspect that Cruise is limiting himself to celebrities which is why he can’t find himself a woman. I’ve looked at his wikipedia page and all the women he’s been linked to since the start of his film career were already celebrities during the relationship. Nazanin Boniadi is the one exception, she is a mid-level celebrity now due to her acting career but when Cruise dater her she was unknown and not yet an actress. Seeing that Boniadi is the sole exception I’m assuming that Cruise has a preference for celebrities at this point and this puts him at a problem.
Suppose that you’re a celebrity whose social standing and looks place her in a position to date Cruise. Would you do it? Why? If you’re already in a position at which you can date Cruise than surely you can also find yourself another celebrity of the same calibre. And why should you pick Cruise over that other celebrity? Are you interested in having Tom trying push his Scientology bullshit on you? Are you interested in becoming a laughingstock on the internet and amongst your friends?
I assume that Cruise will probably be able to find himself a woman if he were open to non-celebrities but I don’t think he’s interested that. The only other option left for Cruise is dating a celebrity who is already a Scientologist but I suspect he’s not interested in most of those either.
Take a look at the women mentioned at the above link. Many are has-beens and do not meet conventional standars of attractiveness anymore, ergo I suspect that Cruise would not want them. While he once used to date women older than him, after his marriage to Kidman he became interested in younger women. Cruz is twelve years younger him, Boniadi is eighteen years younger and Holmes is sixteen years younger. Seeing this pattern I doubt that Cruse would go for someone like Kirstie Alley or Nancy Cartwright. I can see him going for Laura Prepon or Erika Christensen but they’re both taken.
I wonder what will happen if the cult implode while Cruise is still alve. I’ve seen Rinder and other saying that Co$ is heading towards implosion within the near future, if this is really case Cruise will probably witness it. On some level I pitty him as I don’t think he would properly cope with it. Then again the implosion of the Co$ will be of great benefit to many, including those Sea Org members who are degraded by slaves to Cruise.
Cruise has been a star fucker from the get-go. He’ll never marry anyone who isn’t famous, is my bet. He has always gone for the ones with star power, even though they towered over him.
At Celebrity Centre alone there would have to be scores of very attractive dedicated female Scientologists of various child-bearing ages who’d be thrilled to be his 4th wife. Why can’t he pick one of them? I mean, this is a guy who had auditions held for the role of his 3rd wife. He may behave romantically on the outside but honestly, how romantic can a man who would is ok with spousal auditions as a way to choose a life partner and mother of his children actually BE?
I read in the Enquirer or US or one of those mags that he had become “totally smitten” on the set of one of his movies with one of his production assistants, some young, pretty English girl from a very wealthy Brit family, and that “its become so serious” that he’s arranged to have this girl work on all his future films. That they were “inseparable” This was maybe 6 months ago that I read this. I thought, “Hmmm, not gonna happen. He’ll never marry her. She’s a place-holder, even if she does agree to convert.”
And, by the way, I’d like to be wrong about this. Because its a shame that he doesn’t marry within his own religion and have more children, without the hassle of having to convert some non-Scientologist over to his cult. That’s my opinion.
After reading this, I get the idea that Scientology cannot be anything even close to a religion. In the mildest meaning, it presents a picture of mind control. I was repulsed when I met Miscavige on the Freewinds in 1989. Now I know why. There is at present only “Miscavigism”. No one who I knew in the 1970’s or 1980’s would have tolerated this BS. It seems that Miscavigism is based on fear. Too bad there is no one in the present organization to put an end to it.
And why should they? In their view, Miscavige is the messiah of Scientology because he saved the church from the IRS. Remember all that “THE WAR IS OVER” hoopla from 1993?
I’m guessing it was a progress of people slowly changing their realities over time, to stay on staff and still agree with what was going on. As a SO member for a short time in 75-76, I can tell you it was very very different and yes, none of us would have tolerated this cr@p. 2d was alive and well. Kids were a different matter, the Cadet Org was pathetic, mostly the reason I left. Sad to see how awful things became over the years. The group is a nightmare disaster which has buried most of the friends I left behind.
No, the bus driver blew and all the other bus drivers got in trouble. This is because their “think” is that the other staff the bus driver was around (and his senior) should have seen “bad indicators” in him and didn’t report them, therefore they are just as culpable. The other bus drivers are now getting their own ethics interviews….What did you see him do? Why didn’t you report it? What ELSE are you withholding besides that? What did he tell you about wanting to leave? Why are you so blind that you didn’t see there was something wrong with him? What are YOUR overts (transgressions)? You’re not OK to drive until you come clean. Here–take this mop and bucket and go clean the basement until you get honest and straight. Start! And on and on and on…..

George, most of the scientologists now in, were IN during the 70’s & 80’s. The main demographic is still Boomers, in the USA.

OMIGOD so funny. And yet sad at the same time if it’s true. I mean the bus driver blew and all the passengers got in trouble? Yikes!
gato rojo says
