I have often made comparisons between the cult of the RCS and North Korea.
I have been reading John Sweeney’s excellent book North Korea Undercover (this is a link to order the book on Amazon, I recommend it as an informative and enjoyable read filled with typical Sweeney wit). The parallels that come to mind while reading the book are eerie.
Someone also recently alerted me to a link to the official english language version of the The Pyongyang Times.
It makes fascinating reading. They seem to employ the same writers as the RCS. Perhaps Dan Sherman is moonlighting for the Pyongyang Times?
I selected a couple of stories and reprinted them here, along with selections of Scientology propaganda from Scientology.org.
The techniques of control and propaganda are remarkably similar. I will likely make a series of these comparisons. The propaganda is part of the bigger picture of controlling the populace and it ONLY appeals to those inside the bubble (anyone not in North Korea or not in the RCS reads these articles and laughs — inside the bubbles they are VERY serious matters) — though by far this is not the most sinister aspect of these regimes.
Global respect for DPRK leader
A large number of gifts and honorary titles presented to Chairman Kim Jong Il by the world’s people over the past two years since his demise fully mirror their profound feeling of reverence for him.
Vishwanath, secretary general of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and the International Kim Jong Il Prize Council and director general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, visited Pyongyang in April 2012 and presented the Chairman with an elegant and exquisite gilt necklace.
Other gifts include the wood carving “The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il ” bearing the image of Kim Jong Il on his first China visit presented by the delegation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-DPRK Friendship Association, printed material “Glory to the great leader General Kim Jong Il, the sun of the 21st century!” by Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, crystal ware “The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il” by Harish Gupta, director general of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea, long sword and metallographic eulogy by Ibrahim Mantu, former vice-president of the Nigerian Senate, fur cushion by the chairman of the Ecuador-Guaranda Institute for Friendship and Cultural Solidarity with the Korean People, and some-100-year-old gong by Songchit Pullarp, head of the delegation of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand.
Presenting copperware “The equator signal tower”, a county magistrate in Bolivar Province, Ecuador, spoke highly of the great exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il who had developed and enriched the Songun idea of President Kim Il Sung and demonstrated the dignity and might of Juche Korea to the world with his prominent Songun politics.
Oil painting “General Kim Jong Il, the Sun of Songun” by the International Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of the Birth of President Kim Il Sung depicts the Korean leader in a flower garden.
In addition there are ceramic ware “A princess and seven generals”, “Golden rooster” and “Silver hoof” from the Russian Igor Moiseyev State Academy Folk Dance Troupe and the “100th anniversary of the Russian submarine fleet” order, agate craftwork and painting “Monument to Chopin” from the delegation of the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions, the Brazil Centre for Peace and Solidarity among Peoples and the Poland-DPRK Association.
Gifts also came from different countries, international organizations and individual personages including the New Socialist Party of Japan, the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain, president of Phoenix Satellite TV Holding Ltd of Hong Kong, China and general director of the Television Station Tele Andina 23 of Ecuador.
The Socialist Party of Benin and the Sukarno Education Foundation of Indonesia declared their decision to hold Chairman Kim Jong Il as the honorary chairman.
Honorary citizenship was awarded to him by Caluma and Cuenca cities of Ecuador and two cites in Nigeria.
The Bulgarian Anti-fascist Union conferred on him the title of honorary activist of the anti-fascist movement and the International Anti-imperialism Coordinating Committee, the African Peace Fund, the Nepal Journalist Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Politics and others presented him with congratulatory banner, peace prize and diplomas.
Another story from The Pyongyang Times entitled: Nation remembers beloved leader
Abroad
Chairman Kim Jong Il was remembered around the world.
There were remembrance meetings, symposiums, round tables, lectures, fine art shows, book, photo and handicraft exhibitions and film shows in China, Russia, Romania, Norway, Switzerland, Malaysia, Guinea, the UK, Uganda, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nigeria, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Finland, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tajikistan, Chile and elsewhere.
The events were attended by personages of relevant countries and regional organizations and other people.
In a remembrance meeting Vasile Orleanu, chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania, said that on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il’s death, the world’s progressive people were paying boundless respect to the eternal General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and great leader of the Korean people.
“He developed the Juche idea propounded by President Kim Il Sung through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and performed great exploits for the Korean revolution and the implementation of the cause of global independence,” he said.
The remembrance meetings held in different countries adopted messages to supreme leader Kim Jong Un.
Political figures published statements.
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Chile (Proletarian Action) extolled Kim Jong Il for having frustrated the imperialists’ vicious anti-socialist moves, safeguarded national sovereignty and exalted the dignity of the DPRK as an invincible political and military power with iron will and courage.
Newspapers and magazines carried features with the portraits of the beaming Chairman and photos showing his revolutionary activities, and many organizations released bulletins.

Another article from The Pyongyang Times about Kim Jong UN — son of Dear Leader Chairman Kim Jong Il and grandson of Eternal President and Great Leader Kim Il Sung.
Kim Jong Un provides field guidance to different sectors
Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, inspected the KPA Designing Institute.
He viewed relics and materials in the room housing revolutionary relics and recollected the proud history of the institute.
He said the institute assumes a very important task in implementing the Party’s line of fortifying the whole country and the plan for building a civilized socialist nation, adding that his visit is timed to coincide with the ongoing grand short course for officials in the construction sector.
Looking round different rooms, he set forth tasks to be tackled by the institute.
It is the firm determination of the Party to make a new history in construction for Songun Korea, he said, directing the institute to play a pacesetter’s role.
He stated that the interior and exterior of the institute should be spruced up as befits an agency that maps out the plan of a civilized country, and took a measure to this end.
Kim Jong Un visited the Masikryong Ski Resort, which is near to completion.
Making the rounds of the Masikryong Hotel, ski service and accommodation facilities and resting places for the easiest- and intermediate-level courses, he described the hotel as the best in the country, saying that it is a model structure which embodies the Party’s policy on taking into full consideration the purpose and features of objects in designing and execution of construction.
The ski resort project is the focus of special attention at home and abroad and anyone would admire the resort, he said with a broad smile on his face.
He checked the ski runs and said they are on a par with world-class ones in terms of the number of the courses and total length.
He proposed to add accommodation and service facilities with a capacity of several hundred so that schoolchildren from across the country could enjoy winter camping by skiing, skating and sledging in the resort. And he set the building sites and specified what should be done for the second-phase construction.
He noted that he was so moved by the soldier builders who have braved the biting cold in December to carry out the order of the Party, adding that the Party will never forget their feats for the country and people.
The KPA Supreme Commander inspected the August 25 Fishing Station under KPA Unit 313.
He had sent four latest fishing boats to the station. During his visit on May 27 he named the boats Tanphung (autumnal tints) in a sense that it will bode well for a big haul like a rich harvest in autumn.
Calling for an increased catch to supply more fish to the service members, he said it was the request, not an order, of the Supreme Commander. And he asked the manager to write a letter to him if they net 4 000 tons.
The employees of the station overfulfilled the target in six months and wrote a letter to him.
He answered the letter with a message to the manager left on it and visited the faraway station for the second time.
He warmly shook hands with commanding officers of the unit and officials of the station who came to greet him, and said that he was pleased to hear from them and thanked them for the good news.
As he saw the stores full of fish, he said he felt reluctant to leave the place, and posed for a camera together with the officials against a background of the fish to be supplied to the soldiers.
He said the officials and fishermen worked hard to achieve the bumper haul sharing the mind of the Supreme Commander, adding they earnestly helped him supply more fish to the servicemen and he was much grateful to them.
He highly praised manager Yun Yong Il as hero and gave thanks to the employees in the capacity of the Supreme Commander of the KPA.
Noting that the station should build on the success to catch more fish next year, he set the target to be hit and indicated ways to carry it out.
He hoped that the officials and employees would net more fish and supply them to the soldiers, and had a photo taken with them.
He was accompanied by Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, General Jang Jong Nam, minister of the People’s Armed Forces, and Hwang Pyong So and Ma Won Chun, deputy directors of the WPK Central Committee.
From Scientology.org:
David Miscavige is the ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion. From his position as Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center (RTC), Mr. Miscavige bears the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the standard and pure application of L. Ron Hubbard’s technologies of Dianetics and Scientology and for Keeping Scientology Working.
In that capacity, Mr. Miscavige has redefined the term “religious leader” to fit the tasks necessary to direct a truly unique, contemporary religion—a religion born in the twentieth century, which has achieved an unprecedented level of expansion in the twenty-first century, including some 11,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups across 167 nations.
Under Mr. Miscavige’s stewardship, Scientology-supported social betterment and humanitarian programs have touched the lives of billions. Mr. Hubbard’s religious works are more widely available than ever and the Church has achieved unprecedented growth both in physical size and in the reach of its ministry.
…
Crowning the Kaohsiung grand opening was the first visit to Taiwan by Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center. Mr. Miscavige led the dedication ceremony and addressed the gathering of Scientologists: “It is truly my honor to join you on a day when so many dreams come to fruition: your enduring dream for what now looms before us; the abiding dream of all Scientologists to bring the legacy of LRH to the Chinese-speaking world; and fulfilling L. Ron Hubbard’s dream of returning to Asia in spirit and giving back the wisdom he glimpsed through a long tunnel of time. All these dreams will now come to pass, for this is that day when—as in a Chinese epigram—a ribbon falls like windblown silk as we present Scientology to Asia with a first Ideal Org of Taiwan.”
…
In emphasis of what this day signified for the community as a whole, Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and Scientology’s ecclesiastical leader, dedicated the new Church. Mr. Miscavige addressed the gathering with these words: “We come to the first momentous page of this Church’s new history. Needless to say, it’s not a tide of history on which one merrily floats. On the contrary, it must be a history unlike any ever told before, a history of supreme competence, great passion and perfect adherence to our Technology. For only in that way will we ever achieve the Aims of Scientology and thus a world without war, without insanity, without criminality; a world of which we can be proud, where the able can prosper, where honest beings have rights and all are free to rise to greater heights. That is our responsibility as Scientologists—and, yes, it’s one that we proudly embrace.”As the driving force behind a worldwide program to expand all Churches of Scientology to better serve their communities, Mr. Miscavige led the creation of a new breed of Scientology Churches. These Churches stand as points of succor where all are welcome. These are also the Churches from which Scientologists extend their social betterment programs to mitigate intolerance, illiteracy, immorality and drug abuse.Among those on hand to welcome Orange County’s new Church were Anaheim City Council Member Lorri Galloway; Garden Grove Mayor William Dalton; Santa Ana Preservation Society Board Director, Ms. Maxine Schmidl; Orange County’s Faith in Youth Project Director of the Community Service Program, Ms. Lourdes Gutierrez; and Orange County Interfaith Network Board Member Mike Penn.

What I am on now Oracle, and it is so exciting, is learning how to dissolve all space and time. At some point the time track itself becomes a distraction, in my experience of course. At some point the past is not necessary to understand things anymore. The present becomes self revelatory.
There are so many cool techniques. And that is one of the reason I got pissed at Ron. He claimed to be the only one to teach people how to go within and resolve suffering. I am here to say hogwash! There is a rich supply of techniques and approaches. I am all for free investigation with any approach. But I am a furious madman against “only way isms” because they deceive people into slave like obedience, afraid to loose their “only hope”. That is a spiritual crime in my opinion.
To me Oracle, you are a true Scientologist. You have made it your own in your own searching of knowing how to know. To some it is Hubbard-ology only.

Ok Thanks Oracle. I agree with you. DM is doing things LRH would never do no doubt. He is a big boy and capable of his own original idiocy and power hungry crimes against our citizenry. His obvious and overt Caligula like madness is proof of his personal talents: a taste for cruelty. And totally his responsibility.
Jumping off of tables like a demented fiendish spiderman, to knock people’s heads to the floor, gives him a singular distinction credited only to his own interpretations of Bolivar, Fair Game, TR-L, Black Ops Intel Training, instructions from Ron to beat people, spit in their faces and get approval from the man he worshipped as a youth.
That being said,in my opinion: it is the ideas, the philosophy, the sanctification of destroying enemies for the “only hope for man”, the stamping out of free speech, civil discourse and reasoned dissent, the approval of violence from Ron, the examples of violence perpetrated by Ron that helped to nurture in DM his own special brand of diabolical violence.
Yet, because I have read Madman or Messiah, Piece of the Blue Sky and Bare Faced Messiah, searched the web for cross referencing to weed out the Ron haters from the Ron exposers, I have concluded to the best of my reasoning that this sort of punishment by force was initiated, institutionalized and made standard church policy.
So I am connecting conceptual causation ( Ron’s written words) with demonstrated behavior (demented spiderman).
I believe they are inextricably linked. Teachers teach and students learn.
I hope that makes my position clear.

Kim Jong Un checks ski runs, sets building sites and specifies what should be done for the second phase of construction. He is building an Ideal Ski Resort, according to Party Policy.
Kim then moves on to a fishing station. He determines that yes, there was success in the seasons’ large catch but more needs to be done. He sets targets for the amount of fish to be caught in the next season and indicates ways to carry this out. Even though he has never been a fisherman in his life, he knows how this should be done. Kim then has his photo taken with the fishermen.
Sounds pretty familiar.

Tommy Davis lies to his boss, his co-workers, the court, public and mostly to himself.
From Tommy Davis to Lou/DM on March 24,2007:
“I have been filling the vacuum on cob since day one.
Also, I have never seen anyone work harder or more hours and is as well the kindest, most genuine caring individual I know. I’ve repeatedly stated how he is always in the public eye on public streets talking to anyone who approaches him at org openings or wherever he is.”
I was in Scn over 20 years and never saw cob in an org or showing himself in real time to the public. Ever. Of course, if you were invited to the ship for the Maiden Voyage, cob would come out and do a meet and greet. He would have your name memorized and take a picture with you. My best friend has one in her home. That’s the extent of cob being “always out in the public on public streets talking to anyone…”
The only public who sees cob “out in the streets” is a celebrity or a whale and it’s never out in the streets. DM is a shut-in as far as society is concerned. He’s a big fish in a small pond. If you ask people in Nebraska who David Miscavige is, they won’t know. They may recognize the word “Scientology” but may not even know what it means. On the large scale of society, Miscavige is a nobody that no one cares about.
LRH became a recluse towards the end of his life. There are several reasons for this, including poor health. I suspect DM will follow the same path. That is if he doesn’t end up in prision or on the run.

Greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics. If you add „my“ to it then it is right. If others add their „my“ to it then it is wrong and basically manipulation as you are more or less forced to enhance the dynamics of others while lowering yours.
Leaving out only one word in a sentece is enough to get a negative result. Maybe that simple „my“ had been part of this sentece. Who konws.
Even outside of Scientology people are indoctrinated to leave out the word „my“. Every time you do not use this word you are commanded by others. Command intention = my is on the side of the commander.

Scientology – an applied religious philosophy
Auditing technology – clears the mind to enable philosophical thought
The church – the organizing of individuals to provide space and materials for auditing and study
L. Ron Hubbard – the individual who originated Scientology
There are people around who would negate all of the above in one package, finding some small fault in one, then proceeding to generalize it across the board. It is clear in the philosophy of Scientology that blaming or accusing someone of past acts is a mistake and will not improve them, but bad intentions and actions in the present must be recognized for what they are. Blanket excuses are not a solution. If a former Nazi death camp commandant wants to learn to audit and get his case handled, then that’s Scientology. It is there to handle cases. Auditors do not flinch (or “rabbit”). If a former teenage communist in Cambodia who put plastic shopping bags over old men and women’s heads to suffocate them, now wants to learn to audit and get their case handled, then that’s Scientology. But Nazi or communist “philosophy” has no place in the present, especially not in Scientology.
There are those who would criticize LRH for what has happened to the Co$ and blame his management policies. In fact the strict measures he imposed which he is now sometimes criticized for were (as I see things) an attempt to prevent the encroachment of the insanity which has prevailed in spite of clear orders. I imagine he may have felt a bit at a loss at times, perhaps a bit of desperation when he had to repeat things in writing and lectures two or three times, and still saw staff screaming at each other and pursuing personal vendettas sometimes ages old having nothing to do with the present scene. So much of what he wrote was coopted or not used at all, and it is hardly fair to blame him for what was countermanded. An organizing of people is fluid and requires a measure of constant attention to prevent the purposes and counter-purposes from becoming a mix of directionlessness. The guy had the place running well, and probably thought he left it in competent hands when he left the scene in the late 1970’s.

Highest: pre-eminent in rank or standing, lofty or exalted in qualty, the zenith beyond which there is no more.
Truth: conformity to knowledge, fact, ACTUALLITY (my caps) or logic.
Illusion: An erroneous perception of reality. An erroneous concept or belief; loosely, a delusion. The state or condition of being deceived by such perceptions or beliefs.

That illusion/truth was that he, Ron, was the only person to free human beings and planet earth from disaster: from suffering, from darkness. Then you reasoned, “I must help this man, I want to help people, I will dedicate my life to saving the world.”
And that meant saving the world at any cost. That meant GO/OSA black ops. That meant destroying Ron’s enemies with force, deception and lies.
You have become the very thing you signed up to eradicate.
David Miscaviges’ violence was nutured by Ron. Your violence
was nutured by Bolivar and Fair Game.
Scientology is considered a pariah in all societies not because of SPs. But because YOU have bought into the illusions of Ron as truth. And so, for the greatest good, for the greatest number you march on into last chapter of your own destruction. Ron’s SPs were the gorrila in back of the taxi smoking cigars.
You have spent your whole life him making right.
The Oracle says
“Scientology is considered a pariah in all societies not because of SPs. But because YOU have bought into the illusions of Ron as truth.”
Well, I have found that evaluating for others, making them not responsible for their own actions, giving people wrong items or wrong indications, has the same negative effects upon people as lying to them. If not worse.
I disagree (politely) that the current scene was all totally created by a man who passed on almost three decades ago.
This entire theater has been co created. We all have our fingerprints all over it.
I haven’t bought into any illusions myself. What I know I know from my own experiences. And I think others here and everywhere for that matter, have their own knowingness and blindness.
Others can be right Brian, for the way they see things.
You may find this book an interesting one:

I would be more than happy to send it to you if you would like one.
The Oracle says
Evaluating for others, making them not responsible for their own actions, giving people wrong items or wrong indications, actually is lying to them.
Brian says
Since there are a few viewpoints with what I wrote and because my responses before were from my iPhone and the seemed to get jumbled in sequence I will resond to you Oracle and anyone please join in. If some think that what I wrote is getting old I understand you would rather not engage me and would rather I go away. That is fine. Please feel free to not repond.
But my question is : what exactly are you disagreeing with? I am addressing DM and the current execs and the policies they follow. So let’s just take it one at a time for clarity’s sake.
What about my communication to the present regime do disagree with?
Brian says
The point I made about Scientology be a “pariah” and the cause of that not being SPs but actually being DM and the policies they follow. That is the point.
I am trying to keep the ideas clear so we don’t go off into too many directions. What do you disagree with?
The Oracle says
I disagree that everything David Miscavige does is because of his belief in L. Ron Hubbard.
The Oracle says
I would like to add, that I have read and listened to just about every criticism and accusation thrown on the table about the man. Personally, I was never that interested in his personal life. I have had some great adventures in this arena and I have had some great success that still outweighs any personal inconvenience. But then again, I have been getting auditing, or solo auditing, for the last ten years. I just kept it moving.
When you totally discount all the value in this arena and make nothing out of it for everyone, I think you have over stepped some boundaries. I don’t mind it when you over step them with me. But when you see making broad announcements and declares that I know are not true for everyone, I feel obligated to bring the conversation around to some standard of truth.
I understand there people out here that are ARCXen with a man that has been dead for almost three decades that they never met or knew, even when he was alive. And this is some kind of convenience. I see it happen all the time. Some celebrity drops in popularity status and loses fans they never met and have never known. The fans feel let down. I don’t exactly get it myself.
It is one thing when you want to make NOTHING out of EVERYTHING for yourself. But when you have to do it for everyone else too, you have set yourself up for an unattainable goal. Because maybe others do not want you to make NOTHING out of everything for THEM, and prefer to make SOMETHING out of SOMETHING, or SOMETHING out of nothing.
If Scientology really is NOTHING, and I have made SOMETHING out of NOTHING, that is still CREATE.
If I creating and you are destroying, we are at cross purposes.
Others just may see it as disrespectful.
I’m not on the corner body routing. I’m not on staff. I’m not running security at the Int Base. I’m not being pimped by David Miscavige. I am not forcing any ideas down anyone’s throats.
I am doing my own thing on my own time and my own dime. And I don’t feel I should apologize to anyone about it. And I am not interested in people announcing I am sad effect of someone who died almost 30 years ago. It’s just not true for me.
Scientology is about having a CONVERSATION. The auditor and P.C. having a conversation.
Conversation is a widely recognized form of therapy in MANY venues of self help.
I know people who talk to God every day and they say it helps them. Why would they this if it were not true for them?
Do I need to reject the items they have to put on the table? Take something away for them just because it isn’t something I have going on?
I have found the anti anti anti chant to carry as much force and charge as the fanatic / fundamentalist chant. Seriously, both sides are extremists.
I have always walked the middle road and made my own decisions based on my own goals and my own codes. I have to live in my life and in my eternity. Please grant me some rightness beyond suggesting through proclamations that I am hallucinatory. I am not. I know what works for me and what doesn’t. And why. My entire viewpoint of this arena isn’t like anyone else’s. I have never viewed this as anything more than an exploration into the field of magic. And I have never viewed Hubbard as anything extraordinary other than a magician.
There was a time on the track when magic and religion were the SAME thing.
Hubbard said himself the source on Scientology is magic. People not ised it or couldn’t think with it. That isn’t my problem.
PEOPLE of all shapes and sizes and classifications and status’ have set other people up for losses.
If it upsets you so, why are you here insisting EVERYONE has been set up nothing for losses and if they can’t see it they are blind or hallucinatory?
I’ve been set up for a few losses. It has been up to me to create more wins than losses for myself. And I have. If that bothers some people, and I know it does, I still don’t force it down their throat. I tend to draw the line on personal abuses though where people broadly declare and entire section of a community. That’s dangerous and history proves it.
Brian says
Understood Oracle. It is true I take great liberties criticizing Ron’s written words and Ron himself. I try to give reasons for that criticisms and not just satirical name calling that a lot of the web does.
I see how my criticisms can be an invalidation of your actual wins, gains, realizations and cognitions.
That is what makes the criticism of Ron so dichotomous in my books. Because criticism of Ron can be effortlessly equated with: my new true freedoms and realizations acquired though the application of Scientology is being seen in a disrespected light.
On the other hand, criticism of Ron was not only squashed but violently so. By him, by his institutionalized black ops.
It one of the pleasures, blessings and grand opportunities of civil society to disagree, to argue, to communicate about any topic to anyone at anytime.
I have found it more instructive in my own growth to be disagreed with and to weigh the words of those who think me wrong.
This civil discourse was outlawed by Ron in church doctrine. Not only outlawed but warred against with violent retribution.
What we have here on MIke and Marty’s blogs are a reversal of that thought stopping “only way” philosophy. And a great opportunity we a blessed to be part of.
Civil discourse: the pinnacle of civil society. Reasoned argumentation: the opportunity of us all to broaden our experiential horizons.
Brian says
Realization of truth can never be made less of or invalidated by the opinion of another. If I know my shoes to be brown because I wear them everyday and someone tells me they are black, the statement of them being black influences the knowledge of my shoes in no way.
Because I have directly perceived the true nature of my shoes other opinions of them being anything else but brown are meaningless as far as confidence is concerned.
I mean your revelations of truth no disrespect.
The Oracle says
Brian, Heard and understood. I don’t think anyone has a problem with you thinking for yourself. In fact, I like it. But I don’t want you to think for me. I think for me and I always have.
I did not get into Scientology to become immersed in politics, become any officer or cop, be a part of any justice system, lead anyone anywhere, be led, or rule the world or judge others. I had my own path and my own codes already, I was not shopping for a new civilization.
I came in because I did have a problem, and I solved it. Then I became curious. I am still curious. I had a goal then and I had purpose. I have not permitted circumstances or people come between and my own goals and purposes to help and to be helped.
Scientology and Hubbard fell across MY purpose line, I did not fall across theirs.
I am not going to apologize about that. And I have the great mistrust towards people who try to introvert me or throw me into personal doubts or make nothing of my certainty.
Scientology is only recently starting to trickle down to my people and my neighborhood.
We will make something different from it than others before us.
The Oracle says
And you yourself use the word WAS, (past tense) frequently enough to be aware you invest heavily into mocking up “the past”.
Brian says
I understand. Great that you have made it your own minus the regimented membership and relenquish of your personal integrity.
I got in around 1970. Influenced by the Incredible Stringband in New York. Where I grew up. Fell in love with Likki on the Changing Horses album. Found out they were Scientologists. I joined and moved out to LA. Met Likki and we married. Talk about infatuation.
But before Scientology I was into eastern practices. At sixteen I experienced was is called Samadhi. It was a massively peak experience where I cognized all the cosmos was fabric of eternal light. The ecstasy was overwhelming. I did not just leave my body, I dissolved the entire material cosmos. I stopped taking drugs on my own accord and this experience happened after giving up drugs. The ecstasy was so overwhelming that I dedicated my life to being one with the Creator. My search to stabilize the state had begun my lifetime practice.
In the years I was in Scientology my stated goal was liberation and finding God. That was it. I studied under Indian masters, studied Buddhism and hitch hiked around America for awhile.
While in Scientology, in the church, I was always treated by OTs, most of them, that I was stuck in an implant. Most were respectful about it but whenever I talked about my experiences they would say, “Brian, just do OT 3, that will handle your experience with the light.” I never knew why I felt bad after talking with them until I got the OT3 materials.
A friend of mine just gave me copies of it in Ron’s hand writing. In was early eighties and I had sensed that thugs were in charge and Ron lost his luster. I felt he was behind the destruction of a lot of my friends lives at that time.
But OT 3 was the mystery sandwhich that kept me from leaving. I wanted out and back on board with my beloved meditations.
I received the materials, studied the data and started running it. Never completed my grades, never did power, clear, OT 1 or 2.
I’ m the kind of guy that goes into scarry places first. I was conditioned for a decade to believe I would die being unprepared for OT 3. I audited for a month every day. No CS, no course sup. I got in there and worked.
I did not continue, I did not get sick, I did not die. But it freed me from the mystery sandwhich and released me to move on. It also revealed to me why I felt judged and evaluated by OTs and why CSes were asking auditors to see if my “God stuff” was implants.
After studying more of what Ron talked about regarding Light: I was outraged!
For me , I realized Scientology had been a detriment to my spiritual search.
I know there are others like me out there. And it is to them I cast my interests. In hopes that my process of deprograming can be of service.
My dear Oracle, you are obviously not one of them. I applaud your integrity and long held intellectual sovereignty.
Peace out Sister
Brian says
Yet I did learn many things as a Scientologist. I am always grateful for all learning. But Scientology for me hit the limits of it’s ceiling.
And it is in my capacity to ressurect reasoned criticism that led me from doctrines not useful anymore. And that criticsim started with the joyous High Treasonous criticism of the Old Man. A joy I do not mind sharing. Because it freed me to see more clearly.
Clarity, not complaining is my passion.
The Oracle says
Well, you have certainly had an interesting life!
I experienced that sort of ecstasy, a feeling of very intense joy, after I started getting auditing on original OT 7. That was very recently. Rather abused me of all the notions one had to go to confession to get real happy. I was a little too happy when I got involved with Scientology.
“All hands stuff envelopes? No way how depressing!”
Not sure why anyone would suggest implants or whatever as a result of your experience. But I recall telling people things I experienced and them attributing it to drugs I had taken, even if said I was exterior!
“I’m so exterior”
“Well, you need your purif”
I weighed like 92 pound at 5’5″ at that time. Like what fatty cells were drugs hidden in?
But I did always have a sense that nobody else was taking the Scientology experiences as I was, and vice versa.
You know, that is the same as someone going, “I spoke to God yesterday and he told me to preserver.” And the person listening going, “Oh you must have misunderstood him.”
When I read the OT3 materials I didn’t get so literal about it. Hubbard was talking about his experience. I was always aware of other influences though, especially having a lot of track in Asia, ancestors and so on. I knew they were there and even wanted them there. I found, the people still stuck to me, we have a love issue on some level. That made a lot of sense because we were occupying the same space. I just audited the ones that seemed sad or worse, got to a point where I was contacting “BTs” that were in better shape than I was. Some had floating TA’s. Not me. I didn’t feel good about bothering with a good thing, or someone that was in such good case shape, so, they are still here and I enjoy their company.
Communication is a two way thing. So, people really do not “talk to themselves” or, “have conversations with themselves” the way I see it.
Anyway, luckily I was doing it outside of the Church and did not have to argue my point of view.
I did do all of the steps on the grade chart in exact order though, including OT preps. Up to that point.
I’ve done some things I wasn’t supposed to do since then, but it has worked out great for me.
As far as your goal for getting involved with Scientology, I think you wouldn’t have a goal that is not truly attainable. You have to know about it before you want it again, Kind of like a lover.
For an area of activity dedicated to the Supernatural, there are a lot of people in it that do not have a comm line into the supernatural. It is a parallel universe. A lot of people exploring Scientology tend to discount and invalidate anything invisible. Kind of weird. But someone such as yourself may have gotten wrong indications and wrong items that set you up losses.
I have a feeling you will be able to get it all worked out, whatever path you choose.
Best then,
T.O.

To give no power or responsiblity to his words: him being source of this indecency because it was his words….
It kinda makes giving him praise and responsibility for the good things he wrote that helped a bit hypocritical. I’m just sayin’

Do you feel that Mr Miscavige would take the money and run? Who oversees the finances of the Church? Is there ever audit of where the money goes?
dmslappyface says
DM acts in a completely consistent way with all totalitarian dictators – so look to how other such people act when the heat is on. According to Ron DeWolf (L. Ronald Hubbard, Jr.), his father frequently took the money and ran. See video: “1982 CW Scientology Hearings” – Ron DeWolf @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elFdBCldOz4
The Oracle says
I don’t think the Church of Scientology is supposed to have a “leader”. I have never seen a “Leader” hat pack. Or a “Leader” check sheet. This was a term Miscavige coined and honored himself with.
If you look at the policy on lines and terminals, the ideal scene is “Associated Terminals”.

A lot would have to be changed to pull the group through this current scene. I am not sure if it could survive
with the best of executives taking over. I think the Church and all of it’s assets with be seized by Federal Authorities. Held by trustees until claims are settled. And I think the only people keeping it moving after that are going to be the Freezoners, because they respect one another’s civil rights. Civil rights are ruds.

David Miscavige HAS lost control of the Church, all the GOOD leaders will stay far away from

I can’t give you a name but it should be someone who as demonstrated competence as an auditor with 1000’s of hours of experience over years of application of the tech.
Second they should have a record of making case gain and have moved on the Bridge.
Finally they should be able to state boldly that they want the job. If I had any power over it I would politely ask Debbie Cook to step in and oversee a reformation with the option that she could either stay or go when she feels comfortable that the church is in the right hands.

I’m so glad you spotted this. It is a total lie. There are no Swiss LRH stamps. It’s BS.
I also doubt several of the other “honours” they claim were bestowed upon him.
While there are several similarities between North Korea and the Church of Scientology – the totalitarian aspect of both, the insane cult of personality fostered in both to their respective dear/great leader, non-stop mindwarping propaganda, forced abortions – they exhibit cruelty on a vastly different scale.
Miscavige is a petty criminal who lucked into power and has led those who desperately want to believe that the CoS IS the answer to life, or at least the conduit to the answer. Kim, meanwhile, works on a far bigger scale, with much higher stakes.
When North Korea collapses, there will be a bloodbath. Kim and his cohorts will be lucky to reach trial as they will be the first to face the firing squad.
While it seems inevitable that the CoS will implode, I think we’ll be lucky if Miscavige sees the inside of a courtroom, let alone the inside of a cell.
I hope I’m badly mistaken.

Roy Macgregor says
Of all the phrases used to describe David Miscavige style Scientology the “Fundamentalist Scientology” seems most apt. Fundamentalism and fanaticism go hand in hand and you see it all over the place in Scientology. People who would gladly cut ties with a mother, father, son or brother to stay in goose-step with Scientology inJustice. Staff who would happily lie under oath to protect the faithless faith. Members who will punish employees who do not bow to the might of mighty-mouse. And like dark shadows over the entire Scientology culture stands OSA and RTC, ready to delete from history anyone who fails to clap hard enough, cheer enthusiastically enough or otherwise does not meet expectations.
Fundamentalism in theory means the effort to stay true to a religion’s core beliefs, but in practice it really means harsh enforcement of a religions punishments.
If a religion states that a believer should turn the other cheek, but also states that non-believers should be beheaded, you can be sure which of the two the fundamentalist will be putting his time and energy into doing.
Scientology has an ethics and justice system that includes a lot of rules and fail-safes. But verbal SP declares are common as grass and review comm evs unheard of. This is a sure sign that the Scientology religion is a fundamentalist religion – completely focused on strict application of the harshest aspects, completely ignoring any part that encourages tolerance or sympathetic treatment.
Such religions and belief systems slowly loose their warmer and kinder members and gather up people who believe firmly in “tough love” and “only the tigers survive”. As hateful and angry members of the religion become more and more prevalent, so then the standing of the religion in the world sinks. It’s “PR” gets worse and worse. It gets more and more understood as a place for fanatics, people who enjoy hurting others where abusive behaviour is rampant. But organizations have a life of their own and do not just roll over and die. Even a tiny religion like Scientology, with perhaps only 40,000 total members world-wide will take decades to completely disappear. And as it shrinks it will become steadily more and more controlling of it’s remaining members, and more and more abusive.
People like Mike Rinder, Marty Rathbun and Ray Jeffrey put it on the line to keep the beast in check. People like Tommy Davis devoutly believe they have the right to lie, hurt and injure in a “just cause”. It takes a lot of bravery to stand up to that kind of insanity, especially when it is backed by unlimited money.
Lies are the stock and trade of the fundamentalist Scientologist and the constant exposure of the lies keeps the monster down. So to everyone who gathers up truth and forwards it to Mike to post for the world to see, keep in mind that you are backing down the psychos and cold-eyed “justice” fanatics who are in power in Scientology right now. Quite a few people have done this and it has been a big part of keeping the truth flowing out. If everyone who wants to see Fundamentalist Scientology disappear simply went once a month and did an expose on a Scientology church or mission or just fact checked one of their claims, then this blog would have enough truthful facts and figures to hammer fundamentalists back into the closet where they belong.
Last month I spent a few hours fact checking and gave my results to Mike for one of his posts. I plan to do it again this month.
Part of the power of the internet is the power of CROWD-SOURCING.
Let’s seriously crowd source the facts, photos and truth about fundamentalist scientology and pile it on. A river of truth will wash away the lies. Now would be a good time also because the “eye of sauron” is fixed on the Comal County Court House.

OMG this puts me to shame. Here some of us (me) sit in our warm little houses with our fridge and cupboards full of food, and worry if the church will Fair Game us if we come out publicly on Mike’s blog. When I look at what you did, the risks you took, and the tireless work you did after that to whistleblow and shed light on the crimes of DM at great risk to yourself and your family, I am just blown away. My gratitude to you knows no bounds. Mike, you are my hero. And so is Christie and Marty and Mosey and Luis and Roccio and Karen and Hy Levy and the Headleys, Amy Scobey, Dan Koon, Jeff Hawkins, the South African 18 and more, and so many others, the many many others who stood up to DM and said, “No more!” If you are taking such risks to help others and hopefully get that little Hitler put in jail, then the least we can do it to come out publicly, sign the Indie 500 list and let our voices count. I will be doing just that!

Scary.
Seems both the Church and North Korea are in super Stalinist mode.
(I mean even Stalin didn’t feed his enemies to a pack of hungry dogs and as Dan suggested the only thing probably preventing Miscavige are probably some pesky laws.)
Both regimes seem to be insulated and isolated from reality ostensibly (I say ostensibly because any study of history confirms that they usually have willing accomplices and hidden “advisors”) led by some insane autocrat.
Anyhoo…
If I was going to compare any cult, sect or religion as currently most like North Korea. I’d say the Church of Scientology would be at least a top contender.

What this highlights most of all is the danger of living in just one world (bubble) with one source for all ideas and philosophy. By permitting no exchange with any other world they have a very skewed view of reality and have become entirely unbalanced.
Something I have been wondering about is, if it takes Scientologists several years to “decompress” when they are actually surrounded by and immersed in a relatively free culture (and some never do), how much harder will it be for a whole country to “decompress” and come to terms with the fact they have been lied to?

“When YOU SCREW UP” (emphasis supplied by me)… or is it when “Dear Leader” SAYS that you “screwed up”?
Miscavige constantly accuses people of “screwing up” when all they did was carry out his wishes, to the letter.
And is there any serious doubt that Miscavige WOULD, if he only COULD?
Jane Doe says
Thanks, Mike. A new moniker is born, “Chairman Miscavage.”
Dan Koon says
Apt comparisons, Mike. But I just know for certain that Dear Leader 2 (COB) is intensely jealous of Dear Leader 1. After all, a couple weeks ago when Dear Leader 1 had his uncle executed he did it by feeding the uncle and five other interested parties to 120 dogs that had been starved for three days prior to their meal. Dear Leader 2 bitterly resents the wog law that prevents him from acting in a similar fashion.

Jon Sweeney is to be congratulated for his ability to confront so much evil.

Creepy. Very creepy.
