Remember all the promotion that “Tampa is going double St Hill size”?
They pushed this heavily for a LONG time.
Well, apparently they are going backwards — they are not even SINGLE St Hill size… Still need 38 more staff.
This is one of the very first ideal orgs.
They have a staff composed mostly of Flag public family members. A lot of the public they service are the rejects that Flag will not allow in their buildings and the children of Flag public.
Q: If Tampa Org cannot make it to St Hill size after 12+ years, in a massive building in the ONLY area of Tampa that has high body traffic, and with the Flag CMO and RTC overseeing them what hope is there for ANY org to accomplish this?
A: Zero.
OTVIIIisGrrr8! says
Populated as it is by Flag rejects, staff members would much rather work at Flag where there is less foot fungus and better food.
In realistic terms, working at the Tampa Org is a career killer for any staff member who hopes for a promotion. Indeed, staff who can’t cut it at Tampa Org are sent to PAC Base to be dishwashers, or worse, body routers.
While we in RTC pay lip service to the Tampa Org it actually is quite downstat and has been so for decades. COB may actually sell the place and use the money to finance the manufacture of the new Mark X e-meter, the world’s first meter that comes standardly equipped with a cattle prod.

Come to The Netherlands and see our beautiful failed Org in Amsterdam!
Which has been converted into a bookstore and 12 appartments since 2015.
I will post pictures when I am in the neighbourhood again.
But ofcourse you can check out the streetview on Google Earth.
It shows two middle aged women sitting on chairs by the entrance.
They don’t even have body routers anymore, just a free stress test.
The only pictures I’ve seen online shows about 20 people.
Hopefully, this will be the fate of all Orgs around the world.
Just elderly people sitting around, fantasizing about their superpowers.

David Miscavige as the leader of scientology is clearly a failure of epic proportions.
His “leadership” will go down in history as an example of what NOT to do if in a leadership role.
I imagine him when he gets up in the morning, after he drains his bladder and farts, does he look in the mirror and realize what a failure he is?
James Morris says
Nope!
I’m certain it is the opposite:
He’s the bestest, intelligentest, and most effectivest leader Scientology has ever seen, ever had, and ever will have. Over all of 73,000,000,000 years of cosmic existence!!!!!

I’m not a Scientologist not exScn, but rather someone who has been following Marty and Mike’s blogs for years. I find the recent turnaround and events regarding Rathbun to be quite deplorable. NOTE that today his videos appear on Scientology smear sites, as well in an organized presentation to refute the Aftermath TV series. There can be no doubt that he is now working for/with Miscavage and I strongly suspect a large payoff. These recent activities and the leaking of the confidential email re the lawsuit make me think that this guy is dangerous and I don’t think he is going away. The fact that he can turn so viciously on his former friends and those who have suffered horrendous abuse shows us he has no limits regarding what he would do in the future. What they are trying to do is all out attack the Aftermath TV series, kneecap Mike and Leah, sow discord in the community of those who have left Scn, – and more importantly they are trying to seriously threaten those who would publicly tell their stories in the future “ this is what we will do to you”. I think that closer to when they feel that the tax exempt status is threatened, things are going to heat up.
I have nothing but admiration for Mike and his efforts, and the others who so bravely speak out against horrific human rights abuses. I hope that all of you know that you have lots of support and hope you wont be deterred from your efforts !

I hope as with all things Miscavige does, this backfires gloriously. Wouldn’t it be pure irony if all this publicity Marty was getting made the IRS Investigate him to see if he did get paid and follow the trail back to scientology thus making the man who has spent years bragging that he brought the IRS to their knees also be the one who makes the IRS yank the scientology tax exemption? Hey a girl can dream.

He is being despicable. He may be going bonkers but I don’t see signs of that in his videos, I see self aggrandizement, blaming, Denigrating Mike like that? He’s throwing everyone and their uncle under the bus, but none of it’s his fault.

St Hill had a huge draw way back when because Scientology is a cult of personality. Red Herring. No org would ever have those statistics again. Only thing that came close was a mIssion or two in the 70’s before Hubbard went after their money. As usual in Scientology it’s all BS.
Joe Pendleton says
By the by … re: Marty … y’all familiar with “Occam’s Razor”? … about the simpler reason to explain something ? … Marty? He’s gone bonkers. It happens, folks … it happens.
Harpoona Frittata says
I worked with seriously mentally ill folks for decades, so I’m pretty up on what crazy looks and sounds like.
Marty shows no signs of being mentally incompetent or suffering from any serious mental illness in those videos. He’s not very well-rehearsed and doesn’t seem to have the cult’s talking points down very well either, but he’s definitely not displaying any of the classic signs of mental illness in any of those video segments.
However, he does display many of the body language “tells” of someone who’s lying and not very comfortable in the act of doing so. He’s constantly referring to printed notes and looking to off-cam folks to gauge their response and look for approval from them.
Calling him crazy is simple all right, but it just doesn’t comport with his observed behavior and spoken words at all.
So, what plausible explanation would account for the changes in his stated positions concerning the cult and Dear Leader since he first began to alter them, back in the Summer and Fall of 2016, and up until now?
To me it seems crystal clear: Either he’s gone back to carrying the cult’s poison water because he was paid to do so or because he was threatened/blackmailed into doing so…no other scenario seems at all plausible to me.
Lisa Mieth says
Harpoona Frittata couldn’t agree more.
Stephen Hutcheon says
From my sources within Scientology Sydney, Australia Ideal Org, they are in similar dire straits. I recall all the amazing lies, like – that once we had the ideal org built, public would flood in and we would be Saint Hill size. I recall people giving away their cars, remortgaging their homes, using untold credit cards, and taking out huge business loans (no surprise that a number of these people and their businesses have since declared bankruptcy). They have been Ideal now for just over three years, and I know for fact that many staff still have too ‘moonlight’ (have an additional job to their staff job) just to pay their rent and buy food – many have to live in shared accomodation – you will find a number of ‘degraded beings’ (see Mike’s article on this) as staff members – very sad, especially when all most wanted to do was to help other people. Unfortunately if they haven’t woken up yet to all the lies and scams, and permitted themselves to see the ntense media exposure from series like ‘Scientology and the aftermath’ – seen literally by hundreds of millions of people across the globe – they will likely be staff members for life – well at least until the FBI and other agencies get involved and that lovely little tax exception status is withdrawn….Davey it’s all coming for you… very soon! ??
I Yawnalot says
Here’s hoping sooner rather than later hey. Sydney has always been a really sad scene for staffers, along with every other Org I guess but by have so many SO in the same building is a recipe for disaster right there. I know of most of the whales supporting the Sydney Orgs, it indeed has ruined quite a few of them but others polish their horse blinders regularly and carry on oblivious to the misery so closely surrounding them. It really pisses me off when those type of whales shuffle the blame back on staffers for the lack of success with Scientology. Never seen a whale audit 25 hrs a week on another yet.
Aquamarine says
Good comment, Stephen H. If ignorance is bliss these folks must be in heaven. Except they’re not – ignorant, that is. Nor are they truly happy. Any happiness they have with regard to their jobs in the Church of Scientology are based on their own delusions which means its not real happiness.
They know. They actually know. I’m sure they do.
Its just that most of them – the old timers, the long term staff – they don’t want to know.
I’m not saying I blame them for not wanting to know. I’m not saying that. They have good reasons for not wanting to know. Anyone could understand and sympathize with their reasons so I’m not saying they are to be blamed.
What I am saying is that life has a way of protecting the “Idiot savants” – you know, the Forrest Grump types who really are clueless – while at the same time, punishing cruelly those who really DO know what they have been stubbornly pretend not to know. In the natural order of things this type gets punished because they are, or were, willful lying, to others and, worst of all, to themselves.
Life is not kind to this type. Once the jig is up, this type doesn’t get a break.
Instead, when the cruel and unwelcome and long denied truths finally overtake them, when they no longer are able to twist and turn away, when they finally are forced to know what they already know and have long denied, life deals with them harshly.
Frequently the truth is painful and depressing but it will set you free. Lies will never set you free.
This is my opinion, based on personal experience and observations..

And it’s like, “Oh, disgraced former member Marty even says the show is a sham.” Like he just happened to produce those vids and scientology just happened to notice. It’s so stupidly obvious and idiotic it could only have come from David Miscavige. I lol’d.

It takes more than staff to ‘go stain hill size’. It takes a huge number of public to keep 278 staff busy. No matter how many staff you have, they will not be busy. There simply are not enough public around to do anything but the occasional purif. It would take at least a thousand very engaged ‘pubic’ to keep Tampa busy enough to pay the staff anything. Stain Hill survived and made good money because they had the entire $cieno world to draw from. The whole $cieno world is not going to beat a beeline to Tampa, for anything.
Still, Tampa mOrg is a shorter drive from Clearwater than most distances between mOrgs, LA excluded. Does that shorter drive count for anything? Nah….
The next serious downturn in the American economy will be death knell for $cientology. What is any clam supposed to do when they can’t afford the purif or to buy Battlefield Earth?
An expensive infrastructure pared with nearly zero labor costs still means bankruptcy. Or it would in Amway world. How long can the Clampires slush fund keep the edifice lurching along? Not so long when most of the money is invested in sheet rock and marble floors.

I walked by the Tampa Org last 4th of July when the Ybor City area was packed with people. The building looked dead…lower windows covered in brown paper. It was spooky. I didn’t see one member passing out literature on the streets either and my family and I were in Ybor for hours.

Mike, as a never-in I have read the stories and heard the reports, but In all the years of following Scientology, I have never seen anything as cruel as Rathbun’s latest post about you. How can a person be so broken as to publicly tear down another person and not recognize he comes across as irreparably damaged?
I have to be honest, I couldn’t finish it because it broke my heart for you and I started crying. There is no way Rathbun’s cruelty will not at some point damage his own family. I take no pleasure in saying that.
Mike, take heart-Marty has hit a new low with little hope of recovery.

But hey, look at the bright side (not). Scientology is still pretty damn good at doing some great magic tricks – best disappearing tricks you’ll every see, join the static group today and get to experience first hand what a shadow really feels like.
Best example, public walks into an Org, is directed to a TV sized screen and “hey presto,” gone! Millions of past members don’t even think about the subject anymore – how good is that magic?! As-ised it or what?
The managerial statistical and self demanded income condition of enforced donational affluence for the greatest good – investing the remainder… & like magic the money is gone! It turns disasters into money. Has a huge collection of buildings and with the wave of a dead man’s hand, turns them into graveyards of broken dreams.
Step right up for the greatest disappointment on earth… there’s a tailor made trick waiting just for you. Ain’t it just slight of hand Ideal? But best of all, they can make just a handful of whales float an empty armada of buildings and a ship so full of holes it will amaze you. Get your thoughts disorganized today, learn the real magic behind Scientology.
If you learn to apply the real tech of applied Organised Scientology loneliness will find you, but fast. Marty has set new standards in losing friends the fastest. Follow his lead and have your friends, family and work colleagues disappear from your life before your very eyes. (Oh, the lawyers tricks that follow are optional for the most part, but if you’re real lucky you’ll get to hear from Ding-a-Ling).

I can speak only for myself, but my opinions are shared by the vast majority of people I talk to. You are highly regarded and no horrible and cruel smear job can shake that regard even a little bit. In fact it makes me like you even more.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am a complete novice when it comes to Scientology. All I really know is what I’ve seen on TV, read on blogs and read in books and newspapers. To be a scientologist seems as though you are oppressed in so many ways. “You can’t read this, you can’t do that”. Am I right, are there any really good things about Scientology? Or am I being a fecking hypocrite who was christened Church of England… Who doesn’t practice but still believes that you should not do this, that and the other? I’m interested in what you think.

A property here in Durban S.A. was bought by Scientologists to house a future ideal Org.
It was going to be a five story building and the proposed pictures of it were really stunning.
Happened to go past the site the other day, and low and behold, its being advertised for sale, with an exclusive mandate, by “Swindon property”
I believe the site cost the Scientologists R16 000 000.00. Can anyone throw some light on this?
Espiando says
The whole story of the Durban Ideal Parking Lot was on the late, lamented South African blog. Since the blog is still up (as far as I know), just not being updated anymore, you might be able to scrounge the whole story from there. If memory serves, Scientology paid 16 million rand for the building (double what the owners paid for it), then spent another 2 million to tear it down. It’s laid fallow ever since.

When the promo talks about how many people work there and not one word about how many public are being serviced by those people working there or what services are being offered, I just get confused.
Is a big shiny building full of staff members with no one else now the ideal scene? I do admit that those pesky public do make it harder to keep the floors shiny and the papers all lined up nice and neatly.
Perhaps 316 staff members are the ideal number of staff needed to get CF in PT?
Joe Pendleton says
Not even close, Valerie. To get all the filing done? (not to mention labelling all the manilla folders) … I’m thinking 600 hundred staff easy … and then to do call in on all the epic events? … probably another 200. Mike I’m so sorry you are being attacked so viciously (particularly in part 7). To bring your kids into the discussion is beyond low. Clearly there are no depths too low for Marty to go. I can’t even imagine your pain. I can only say that I’m so sorry you ever crossed paths with this psychopath.
Please know that nothing this man says changes my opinion about you. His representation of Aftermath is a joke and everyone who watches will easily see his portrayals are absolute lies and deceit. We all know his videos are meant to reach a very small group of people, for a very distinct purpose. Even most of these people (the current Scn membership) will be able to distinguish truth from fiction. The die hards won’t, but they are not the ones you are trying to reach. I’m praying for you and your family to be strong thru all this. Hopefully soon Marty will disappear along with Shelly and the rest. I’m a 55 white female living in Owasso, OK. I never knew a thing about Scientology until watching Going Clear. I had them confused with Christian Scientists. I thought Narconon was an organization like Al-Anon, but for family and friends of drug abusers. I had never heard of the OK flagship Narconon center, even though a friend of my son had died there, Stacy Murphy. It was all new news to me. My stand out ex-scientologist, was Marty Rathbun. I loved him in Going Clear and the videos I watched with him. He seemed so knowledgeable and frankly, cool. Then I watched all the drama unfold with everyone else. I got to know you better in Aftermath. Your honesty really touched me. I was already reading your blog everyday, but I came to a much better understanding about what drives you.
Anyway, I totally understand that my comments were way to personal. I do apologize for that. I was just so fucking furious that Marty went there with your children and my heart broke for you. I wanted you to understand better where I was coming from.

Why do they need so many staff? I figure the needs as such:
1 receptionist x 2 shifts = 2
1 person to clean the toilets, mop the floors and order new books = 1
1 auditor per 2 public on the bridge x 6 public = 3
1 person to lubricate and tighten bolts on robotic dissemination machines = 1
1 person to write reports to submit Thursday 2pm = 1
1 person to shout at the person writing reports = 1
1 person to shout at ashtrays = 1
Total = 10
They are way overstaffed as it is.

Correctamundo Mike!
But remember, Dave says that LA Orgs Idealness coupled with the all See Orge staff is what makes the difference. That is why they can route 700 new public per week into an eternity of idealness and get them off the degraded streets of LA.
Q: How many new public actually enter LA Org each week and sign up for a service?
A: I guess another goose egg .. 0!

I have seen you and others mentioning this: Tampa gets Flag’s rejects, many times. Just to understand, how is this determined? Who can’t go to Flag? I get “ethics trouble” and such, but would that not disqualify you for services anywhere until the “problem” is handled?

Sorry, you’ll probably need to petition.
Understand, this is the Mecca of Scn. They pride themselves on being able to crack ANY case…provided its not a real case, with real aberrations.
Scn is well aware of their spurious claims, and seeks to minimize potential risk by accepting only low-risk, Kool-Aid drinking parishioners. ANYTHING which is perceived as a risk or threat is filtered out.

This is true, but that doesn’t mean that they are above trying to get you qualified to be a Flag public by Sec Checking the holy shit out of you just to make sure that you are an ‘illegal pc’. I don’t know what the going rate is for an ‘intensive’ these days, but they are always more expensive at Flag than at other orgs. On top of that you have to add overpriced accommodations and meals. Once you are pretty near tapped out they will kindly show you to the door and then off to the Tampa org or some backwater org to work on some nebulous program so that you are special enough to come back to the Mecca of Technical Perfection to get your ‘case’ handled. Once again, as always, it’s all about the money. Always is, always has been, always will be.
Being shunned from Flag or any other org, mission or field group is just about one of the best things that can happen to a scientologist if they take advantage of the opportunity and get the hell out of there and get some real help recovering from that mind-fuck.
Mary Kahn says
Let’s say one has a family member or friend that is “disaffected” but not declared and is just staying quietly done about the church. If that family member or friend is known about but has refused to go in to get “handled” that one who is connected cannot be on lines at Flag. Sometimes one does not even know why they just got routed to Tampa. One might think it’s just cuz he/she needs more another step of auditing done before they get on with it at Flag. This is also what is called naive or glib about why one is sent to Tampa Org. That could be one scenario.
Andro Villans says
I have always wondered the same thing. What makes a “Flag reject.”? It must be something dire.
I Yawnalot says
I reckon it’s the lack of money and/or the potential to get it plus anyone potentially smart enough to expect a result from the best of the best. They spend the time counting things like money in and number of theta comm cycles delivered and that sort of vital time consuming activity.
Then there is the time spent reviewing the PTS/SP data on how to confront and shatter suppression. That one is a biggie these days. And my gawd, how do we deal with the A & E series ………… ???????
PeaceMaker says
asdf, if what I gather about how things work these days is correct, a lot of those staff are part-timers and even volunteers. Then they basically have two shifts, 7 days a week. I’d hazard a guess that they probably have something like 24 staff actually in the building at any given time – and quite a few of those doing busy-work administrative jobs, like managing their cumbersome administrative and filing systems.
Also, it occurs to me, if their staff stats are as gamed as some of their other numbers, it’s possible that people who work or volunteer in different areas at different times, are getting counted two or more times. The certainly might count someone who works two different shifts, as a lot of full-time staff do (at least those who have enough support from family or other sources, to not have to work an outside job to make money to live on), twice.
And for things like student statistics, they appear to be counting people who are taking multiple courses, once for each course. I think I’ve also seen them finding a way to count people on the multi-year courses in a way that makes them appear like a brand new start each year. The lying through statistics, and the warping of the meaning of those statistics, is really getting absurd.
LDW says
278 staff and 75 active public. I always thought (and I mean since day one) that this incessant push to have “everyone” join staff was a losing program.
Almost as silly as trying to recruit everyone who graduates from a university to become university staff. It just makes zero sense.
Aquamarine says
Exactly right. I always thought, and told the staff in my org, that they’d have no shortage of staff applicants if they just paid a livable wage. Then they could pick and choose the best, the most qualified, the most dedicated, etc. For nearly a decade there has been this thing called a “job shortage”. If people could make a living on staff there would be plenty of applicants who just needed a job, and out of them could be selected the cream of the crop. Even the best, the brightest, the most hard working and dedicated person who LOVES his job – even THESE people expect to get PAID for their work. Needing and wanting to be paid decently does NOT make someone less than a great staff member. Getting paid fairly is just part of the package. Duh.

Yea. I went by recently because I had never seen it and sat in the parking lot across the street. Nice building! Papered window look stupid but nice building. As a side note, I found it interesting that in the 5 minutes I sat there, I saw local security driving into the orgs circular driveway; sit there at the entrance for a bit and then leave and drive immediately across the street to the parking lot I was in. I got the distinct feeling that security at the org called local security to have me checked out. But then again, maybe I’m just “paranoid.”

Instead of CS’ing me for a CCRD I was CS’ed for ALL THREE L’s! Mixing rundowns in the middle of a major case action. This CS came down from on high. Treasonous uncaring sons of bitches who are in it for the money. Tampa is their pending holding area to try and extract more money. Both of those organizations are the most corrupt son’s of bitches in this universe. Every single Scientologist should avoid Flag reg’s like the plague.

Sorry, Doug, you lost me with the acronyms. Can you clarify a bit? Thanks
FeeIsMe says
^^^^^ this. I thought I was the only one.
Aquamarine says
Thanks, Doug. I’m so glad that when I was in I was always too broke to afford auditing at Flag!
Funny how all that changed after I left! Same business I’ve had for decades, haven’t been broke since.
Well, that’s Ethics Tech for ‘ya.
That’s what happens when you confront and shatter the suppression in your life!
Your stats go UP.
(Sure, OSA, I’d love to write a Sucess Story).
Aquamarine says
PS: OSA, the irony is that now that I’ve left y’all I can afford to go to Flag! I could stay for quite a while, actually! But then, y’all are just so mean to me…such a pity…:)
Aquamarine says
See what you can do, guys.
A little love-bombing?
Its been so long, and I miss it, kinda.
Remember how you used to tell me how wonderful I was, in every way?
You did it so well. Nobody did it better.
So, give it a try “in a new unit of time”.
Who knows?
I might fall for it, AND I have the money now.
FYI, you’re still blocked from my email and phone but I’ll be expecting your paper letter in the mail day now, asking me “Wassup”?
C’mon, guys, let me hear from The Friendliest Place In The World.
You know you want to 🙂

So. How many staff does St Hill UK have . Roughly.

It begs a question. Has there ever been a picture lately which shows what the inside of any ORG looks like during ‘normal’ business hours not taken by $cn, meaning just someone who happens to take a shot?
raindog308 says
Someone could spend a couple hours with Google Maps’ StreetView and go around to the various Ideal Orgs and screenshot how empty their parking lots are. Since SV drivers come around at random daytimes, it’d be an excellent sample…and a marvelous collage showing empty parking lots.
Don’t have time to do it myself so I throw it out there for fellow ASC members to pursue 😉
James Morris says
They’re empty. Many don’t even have a receptionist. Maybe they hide in the advent of total strangers?
Oh! And not so many lights are on and they pull down the shades, too!
Mary Kahn says
My niece glibly walked into Pasadena Org just because she wanted to see it and what it was all about. She said it was really nice and being a photographer she asked the nice lady there if she could take pictures. The answer was “no” of course. We out here know that but my naive niece did not understand that. She even took the personality test for yuks. I did not know she was going to do this. Anyway, she said what she saw was empty except for people in uniforms.
Mark Fulton says
Thanks for the story. I am not near any of the Orgs but just wanted to know what other may have actually seen. Of course Mike has mentioned this very same thing. And like others, what do 278 staff do every day for a total of 75 on course individuals?
Robert Almblad says
Yup. Zero.

Good luck on that bitches!
