Normally I would have simply included a couple of these in the Thursday Funnies and been done with it.
But this week it hit saturation level and I felt it deserves a single post that gathers together a sample of one week of pitches from the most OT org on earth. The top of the bridge. It doesn’t get any better than this, what every scientologist is striving for.
The Moneywinds no longer seems to operate on any pretense about “delivering service” — they are ONLY about helping people make money so they might extract it from them. What is that saying about money being the lowest motivating drive there is?
Top of the Bridge?
This is once again proof of what the “top of bridge” in scientology is REALLY all about. It’s why I call it the religion that worships money. It seems to be all everyone strives for. It is the measure of status in scientology. And it is the constant focus of staff and public alike.
They even have their OT VIII C/S out pitching “The Keys to Prosperity.”
And I must say, Bob certainly doesn’t project an image of light and airy spiritual freedom…
BTW — there are supposedly TWO “ideal orgs” in San Jose area? Why are they not doing this at either of the orgs?
5 hours per day? Phew….
Even when they are promoting public speaking (?) it’s pitched as “Cause your Prosperity”. Why?
And this has degenerated into a “Closing Workshop”. Wow. nothing subtle about this one.
Another seminar with 5 hours a day hammering on “prosperity”? (And the rest of the day spent trying to avoid the regges who are working on their own prosperity)
More closing. And this one by the world-famous Tamas Kasza? Weird.
And this line up of rug sellers, PR’s and professional handout takers is really going to set the house on fire. And look at that itinerary — Aruba, Bonair and Curacao. They might have trouble scraping together the money to move the 100 miles for the round trip between the islands…
There are probably plenty more floating around that people don’t even send me.
This is literally a DELUGE of MAKE MONEY, MAKE MORE MONEY, MAKE OTHERS MAKE MONEY.
A church?
Only if praying at the altar of cash counts as religious practice.

Boy. Ol’ Bob Anderson looks like he’s got some hard miles on him, that’s for sure…
Bob and his wife Sherry once gave me a facetious “Kris Kringle” gift after I let Bob have it about the outpoints I saw in the org and with the C of S while Bob and I were on a bullshit, desperate, “arrivals tour” in Columbia before Christmas.
At the time, we both went into glee at the ridiculousness and the gigantic scope of the outpoints in the Church. We were both listing the items and laughing at the various idiocies foisted upon staff and public. It was actually heartening to me that someone else could see that same outpoints.
Apparently he got “handled” after debrief.
I still have that Christmas “gift” to this day. It’s one of those “message” coffee cups. It says, (including capitalization) “I am the ONLY PERSON HERE who REALLY KNOWS what’s happening.”
Grok the depth of meaning and “insider” patronization of that message.
The thing is, someone else had actually drawn me for the gift exchange and I had received a gift from that person too. When I asked Bob and Sherry about it, Sherry said something like, “Oh we just wanted to get you something. Bob had such a great time with you in Columbia.” She did a pretty good job at hiding her insincerity and 1.1 sarcasm.
Shortly after that is when I was torpedoed with Black Dianetics by Owen Starkey. Guess someone had a “Tech Correction” meeting about me.
Later, after I tried to escape and was confined to my cabin after being recovered, he tricked me by having me brought up (under guard) to the “Green Room” behind the Starlight Cabaret during the Sea Org Day Event with CO CMO Ship Jennifer Alpers at the mic. She even glanced back at me as I was being led into the green room behind the stage. The door was left open to the backstage area. Once we were in there, Bob got in comm with me. As soon as he had me at ease despite the inexplicable (to me) location that we were in, he insulted me by asking, “What are you trying to do?”
Suddenly, I got that he was inferring that I was a threat to others on the ship. Infuriated, I responded by saying, “You think I want to harm people?” and then doing something that terrified the shit out of him in the most life-threatening way possible.
The security guard at the door slammed it shut and the other (Kevin Popovich) moved to protect Bob. Of course, I shut down and ceased to be threatening immediately as it was just theatrics on my part.
They got their product, however. The entire crew of the ship, assembled in the Starlight Cabaret had heard, perhaps even seen, what I did. In their minds, I WAS a threat.
Mission accomplished. My “positioning” in the eyes of the crew was now damaged. No longer would there be any suspicion about, “What’s going on with Scott?”… I was effectively D/A’d.
For the record, I never physically harmed anyone during the entire time of my captivity at the hands of Sea Org members.
I cannot say that they treated me with the same consideration.
Ann B Watson says
Hi Scott Campbell, I am very pleased and proud to meet you.Your post hit a nerve with me, because even though I was before your time in SO, you are the first poster that mentioned Black Dianetics which Bill E had casually mentioned to me during my eve discussions of me with him.The Guardians Offiice Intelligence had already taken over three years of my PC folders from Asho F & were totally in control of me.I never physically harmed anyone human or any other life form in the SO either & I got the royal treatment as you.No we were never ever treated with the same consideration. Once I was seen as a Threat by someone higher than me who wanted raw power over those not completely trusted, then I became dead agented even without trying.Whenever I pointed out an out point that was so glaring even I could see it,someone upstairs tore his/her hair out.So happy you got out & we can post together.Love Always.Ann.
Scott Campbell says
Hi Ann,
Yes, thank god we made it out alive and are here to tell the tale. You’re right, those at the top want to keep outpoints hidden, probably mostly just to cover their asses. If you are really seen as a threat of exposure, then someone may decide to take you out using Black Dianetics. It works just like LRH says it does – but only on the thoroughly indoctrinated.
Ann B Watson says
Hi Scott Campbell,I got the chills because you are so right.I believe Black Dianetics was used with me.The missing puzzle pieces start to fit.If my time in was before that, then something quirky & not normally issued to outsiders was employed.Spooky for me! Thank you always Ann.

Scott, I’d love to see you write a book about your experiences in the SO and your eventual escape.

Only in the Church of Scientology “experience” do you first find out “the solution” to the problems that have been haunting you all this time. And now with this new opportunity…this “brief breath in eternity” …. are you given a new and even bigger problem to solve … how are you ever going to go OT in this lifetime? The longer I’m out the more obvious what a total freedom trap it is. So obvious that it was NEVER in Hubbard’s best interest to make the bridge available to all….one of the basic lies on the chain.
Beryl says
The myth when I got in was that “If you get enough auditing/training then not only could you get up the bridge, but you would make so much more money that you would have more left over than you have if you had never been a Scientologist and remained a WOG. Overrun in California says
You know, all of these $ seminars and techniques to close and make hoards of money would be unnecessary if the services of Scientology were viable. Not talking about validity or anything like that right now, just the simple basics of how to sell a product or service. If the COS was really intent on getting people up the bridge, then you’d think that, not only would it be affordable, but it would also be attractive, and viable, to those who wish to learn how to be practitioners of the profession.I mean you can sell a pack of gum for $1,500, and you’d probably sell a pack or two. But there wouldn’t be many people buying, or selling gum. The reason why there are virtually no auditors auditing for a living, is because it’s not viable. Can’t pay the rent if you have no customers. And since you have to charge COS exorbitant fees to be an auditor, of course you won’t have enough PC’s to make a profession out of it .Imagine if you could train to audit, and then get paid even just $30.00 an hr. That’s still over $62,000 a year. I’d do it. Get paid, and help people at the same time. Have a central C/S for every 10 auditors. Give ’em 10%. The reason why this is not being done is because the intent of the COS is not to get people up the bridge, and it is not to train auditors so that they can continue to audit. Probably 95% of all trained auditors do not audit. Maybe it’s 99%. So what really is the motive here of the COS? Not to get people up the bridge, that’s for sure. Not to create auditors, that’s for sure too. Something to think about.

As the slogan on the last poster says: “You have the right to be successful and make it to OT.”
For an organization SO committed to human rights and SO filthy rich, this “church” is doing pitifully little (aka nothing) to “clear the planet” or just make this world a better place. I can think of no other church this hard-hearted, cheap and indifferent to the plight of the humanity which they like to talk about constantly. Even on the rare occasions when they give the impression of “doing something” they spend more time trumpeting that news than actually getting anything done.
Surely, since all of us tax payers are subsidizing this organization, there should be something of a public benefit in this somewhere?
I Yawnalot says
You’ll be likely to find more of a public benefit with the flu virus than from the church of scientology.
It will have to go down in history as the most flagrant criminal organisation masquerading as a religion in modern times. It will make the Guinness Book of Records in that category if it one exists. Apparently our society has some big foibles – the Cof$ is one of the biggest!

Emanuell Mottl comes up as a specialist .. on OT hatting .. sounds strange to me ..
Really, if you want to become something like an OT, you should never become a scientologist .. which is rule one .. you will only collect confusion about OT and will never become one .. never in all eternity .. rule two is .. never give a hatting for OTs .. this shows only that you are wide wide wide beside of the target .. all OT hatting is bullshit .. rule three .. OT hatting is the lack of know about .. trying to postulate some wishes ..
There is nobody on the whole world who needs Emanuell Mottl as a prayer .. but they use him for something .. and he feels for it .. sorry for him ..
If there are some real OTs on this world, they would not be scientologists, never, but if some did, they would not longer be OT after the works .. why? I stated this a long time ago .. not necessarily in this blog .. but your only chance in scientology is to go down in confusion .. this is all what you can ever get .. and next step is to take orders from other and you get order in your life .. only you have lost your own life .. maybe forever if you pick up all the not solveable problems which are told now ..
LRH said it is a small path going up the bridge .. which looks right .. but it goes straight to the the point what you believe .. if you believe in your case .. and believe that the church can handle that .. you are gone .. you are death and below confusion .. an real OT would throw Emaunell out of his shoes .. but such tech is currently not in use ..

I read these ads and all I see is “Hidden Agenda.” Bob Anderson in San Jose? (Glad to see he’s getting out of his Ivory Tower enough to get some sun.) He’s there to clean up the field which is its own hidden agenda. I remember a time when this church actually knew how to “clean up the field” or give a “free ARC X session.” But that’s when the church was willing to be wrong.
John Locke says
McCarran, the Church has NEVER been willing to be wrong. Hence one could NEVER get a refund for crappy service (or even a free do over) without being declared a criminal (S.P.)
WhatWhenAllWho says
That is simply not true, John Locke. First, let’s take “the Church” out of the discussion, as that phrase is most certainly a generality. Second, as a C/S, I wrote many programs and oversaw repairs that handled “crappy service” (untrained staff usually trying to get stats up instead of delivering service) as well as programmed and CSed ARCX sessions) – all of which were free.
Yes, this was long ago in the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s – then I had pretty much stepped away as the tech had become so bastardized that what I just described was no longer possible with an org.
However, I understand you are making a point. I’m just tired of you jumping down anyone’s throat if they have any good recollections of their time as a Scientologist.
The Church has always been made up of people. Now, from this wonderful blog, and my reconnecting with such close friends as Mary, I have been horrified to see how stupid (Axiom 38), destructive and evil the actions of individuals within the Church have become over the last couple of decades.
There is no question that this group needs to be dissolved. It will. There is no question that David “Let Him Die,” Tiny Fists, Apple Box Boy (my favorite, still) Miscavige should suffer greatly. He will.
I have no problem with your viewpoint, John. I understand how you feel. There are so many commenters here with such different experiences that have such varied range. I would appreciate it if one could comment on an experience without it then being nullified.
Thank you.
And to Mary: “I KNOW!”
Roger Hornaday says
WWAW, I substituted the Nazi Party for each time you referred to the church of scientology. I’m not sure if my point withstands the harsher elements but I think the difference between the two groups is merely quantitative not qualitative.
There were otherwise good people in the NP who helped each other and worked hard as teams to advance the Fatherland. It was fun for many of them and purposeful even as Jews were being relieved of their property. Are we to blame the people for spoiling a good thing or the Party itself which was simply the mirror image of its founder?
John Locke says
WhatWhenAllWho said, “That is simply not true, John Locke. ”
WRONG – Read the policy about refunding money for auditing or courses that were botched. AFTER that, get back to me. (N.B. your personal actions are irrelevant when talking about CHURCH policy)

Cindy says
whatwhenwhereallwho: (boy your title is a mouthful) But I get it, it is from Sec Checking. I wanted to say how much I loved your comment. I personally know of a couple who got a refund in the 80’s with no trouble whatsoever. In fact, back then it was hurry and give them their money and get them out the door fast. So John Locke is wrong when he says the church never gives people their money back. Maybe now under Davie, “let him die” Miscavige, they don’t get money back, but back in the day when policy was followed, yes refunds were done. And I find it sad that after you gently chide JL on jumping down anyone’s throat who ever had a good experience with the tech or in the church, he responds by calling others who don’t spew venom like he does, calls them “flying monkeys.” So much for your very good suggestion to him. Only viewing something as it is, or as-is, without the HE&R, without the venom, without the victim bs to it, only then will it erase and ease and you’ll be free of it.
Roger Hornaday says
“But that’s when the church was willing to be wrong”.
Hi McCarran, I recall listening to a tape in the SO where Hubbard said the only thing really new about his admin tech was “Qual”. Qual is when the church is caught in flagrante delicto then throws somebody under the bus and says, “we got rid of that sp”. Is that what you’re referring to? (just kidding)
Ann B Watson says

WhatWhenAllWho –
What you describe upset me a long time ago, and I finally arrived at the confront that there are bottom feeders who willfully attack anything in a suppressive dramatization, and there really isn’t much to be done about stopping it on blogs. To someone below 2.0, good looks like evil. My guess is that many blogs and “social media” are sort of like television, these days. You see it in the news media, too. That’s all it is. These are not “real” people with real thought behind their maligning. Just too much hatred, more than the being could handle. Some could easily find many ways to be negative about a glass of water. Someone commented long ago that “we” have no idea who is posting. The poster could be a 14 year old, or a 70 year old alcoholic living in a basement, or a disabled shut-in. Could even be someone in OSA. That’s a superficial physical description, but can be taken as an analogy for the state of mind of the poster.
Worse than they, are pretend Scns in the Co$. LRH said long ago, words to the effect that, if we do it right, we should make it like a walk in the park. That opportunity to make it like a walk in the park has ended, in my estimation. It’s now real life. Maybe that’s what everyone wanted. There’s a line in some movie that has stuck with me for years. An alien race is conquering Earth (wiping it out). One of them is face to face with one of us, and the line is something like: <> I’m not sure that’s really true, but the line stuck with me for some reason.
Nickname says
The line is something like **You know what I admire most about you humans? When things are at their very worst, you always seem to be at your very best.” [Some formattingtext I forgot about gobbled it up in the above.]
Roger Hornaday says
Nickname, what are you upset about? That’s a lot of complaining you’re doing. I can only speak for myself but complaining never makes me a sympathetic listener.
What When All Who says
Nickname – thank you for your words, I appreciate your taking the time to write them, and I have kept that in mind while reading what Mr. Locke has said over the past few months. Since, today, it was Mary’s comment that he totally invalidated, I finally decided to originate – not something you can do if you disagree with Mr. Locke, unless you don’t mind heavy backlash.
Roger Hornaday – I don’t know about “blame” and you’re right, the NP was a great deal harsher. I’d really have to think about your thoughtful point to really give an equal answer. Let me just say that I think your question deals with something that is ages old…particularly when it comes to Humankind. Unfortunately, we could find many things in history that smack of horrific evil being executed within a group or from one group to another; each feeling totally justified in what they are doing.
In the cases like we are speaking of: One, you have a founder who created a group based on his/her ideas. Then, you have followers (followers that begin to follow for various and sundry reasons). You can’t have one without the other, and, humans being humans, are going to live that experience changing and shaping in whatever way they need to in order to survive.
I don’t have a definitive answer, but that point is something that I have thought about for quite a while now in seeing today’s C of S. Plus, please put into consideration that I was commenting on my own experience and what I saw and did and I will admit again, I did not experience the devastating things that I have read on this blog – and believe me, it’s learning something new everyday.
John Locke – Thank you, you totally proved my point. And, I love the Flying Monkey remark – always been a fave animal of mine.
Mike – I won’t be responding to anything further on this string or to John Locke in the future. I thank you for making this forum available and taking the huge chunks of time out of your day to write it and continually add the comments.
And, Mary – see? I KNOW!

Found a couple of sites with info on various natural healings; The Truth About Cancer with Ty Bollinger ( http://thetruthaboutcancer.com/ ) he has a lot of various doctors and cancer survivors go over the various treatments that have gotten them through. Suzanne Sommers referenced a site ( http://worldtruth.tv/american-cancer-society-admitted-that-untreated-cancers-often-go-away-naturally/ ). Plus they both have FaceBook pages too. Check em out if you haven’t already done your own searching. Good luck.

I think Mr. Bob Anderson should see a doctor. He has been stuck in the C/S office with nothing to do for far too long. At least let him go on deck and get some sun now and then.
It would seem to me if these prosperity seminars were working, they wouldn’t have to have so many.
And Mike, you go to the Starbucks in Palm Harbor? The one at Nebraska & 19 next to Verizon? If so I live very close to that Starbucks too….I guess that kinda makes us neighbors. If I see you there I will say hi.
Mike Rinder says
Yep, that’s my Starbucks. Heading there shortly.
Old Surfer Dude says
Yeah, ummmmm, with all due respect, Mr. Bob Anderson looks like he was buried a couple of weeks ago and he just now rose from the grave. Makeup artists could not have done a better job. Public on the Fleecewinds hopefully aren’t faint of heart. This man could cause a heart attack from 50 ft away. I wonder if he rents himself out for Halloween parties. Maybe he looks this way because of sec checking…
WhatWall says
It’s likely that Bob Anderson suffers from the cumulative effect of years of face-ripping from CO Sharron Webber. I’ve not personally observed one of her face-ripping sessions but one was described in grisly detail to me by a recipient who received one in a hallway of the Fleecewinds. By all accounts, Sharron is VERY good at it.

This is the line that struck me the most:
“>Why would there be a lot of busyness but not very much havingness for anyone?”
Who is the “anyone” this promo piece is talking about?
Where I live, my neighbors, friends, acquaintances and all of our kids and grandkids have great lives with a reasonable level of busyness and lots of havingness.
All you need to do in order to remedy that “not very much havingness” is leave the cult.
Jeeze, can’t these guys evaluate data?
Cindy says
Havingness is having your kids and family around you to love and interact with. They take that from you with disconnection and leave you broke, broken, and alone. These are the products of this “church.”

Funny, what do members of a quasi-military, fascist dictatorship know about prosperity? That’s like having Saddam Hussein speak at a human rights workshop.
One would think these “prosperity” seminars would eventually fade away. A person attends, is enlightened, applies the data to their life, 5Xs their income (or maybe 47X), it’s a done deal. No more attention on prosperity, because…well, you’re prosperous.
No, what they are really selling is the IDEA of prosperity and convince others they too can be prosperous. That way they can more easily convince the person to give them money they do not have, because prosperity is right around the corner.

Out of all these people that are so successful, so hatted as Scientologists, so veteran Sea Org; which one them has any money left to enjoy some of that with in the bank that the church didn’t get yet to make this statement about them? The Church of Scientology is a harsh reality. 🙂 And the one thing that never ceases to amaze me as well is some time next month or so (after all these people are declared) if they are SP’s then how could they have done their OT levels? Does the Church of Scientology even know what the truth might be? 🙂

“Why would there be a lot of busyness but not a lot of havingness for anyone?”
Uhm … well, you could get that answer by having observed staff members in the CoS for the last freakin’ FORTY FIVE YEARS! Some people just refer to this as “admin tech.” Yeah, right ….. “tech” … I can think of some other words to describe this but since I am not Donald Trump …..

Be sacarstic is not creative .. you may think so, but it is not .. be sarcastic is only an ironic level of joke against other ideas or meanings .. no creativity necessary ..

Fantastic post Mike. Of course this makes total sense really. Grind on people CONSTANTLY for money. Get every cent you can suck out of them, pushing every button possible. And then when folks are either bankrupt, broke or simply in desperate need of money to gain their “eternity”/spiritual awareness, hit them hard on their now biggest button by banging them to somehow come up with some MORE cash for the CoS coffers so they can learn how to get out of their financial hole and make money so that they have the moolah to THEN hand over to the CoS, get broke once again, so that they can be regged AGAIN to hand over money to learn how to make more, so that they can hand over again ……
Abso – freaking – lutely beautiful in its symmetry of how one step of the scam leads into the next to feed the original scam which leads back into the next step to feed the orginal ….
Well, the marks either stay on the hamster wheel or they wise up, decide to confront the scene and take responsibility and get off the wheel. As for me, this remains a source of much amusement and entertainment. The more these robots buy into the scheme, the more chuckles I get and the more I look forward to seeing how next they will be scammed.
Doug Owen says
It’s simple. Money is the most common ruin among Scientologists. It wasn’t when they got in, but it is now!
Old Surfer Dude says
+1! Yep! Public, staff and SO, indeed, do have a lack of money as a ruin. It’s hard for me to imagine that if you route out of the SO, say after 20 years of service, they give you all of $500. I guess it to keep the ‘ruin’ in place…
Bravebloggers says
Curious- would that $500 (or whatever meager sum) then be included on your freeloader bill if you were SO? Just an errant thought/question, and a huge slap on top of the previous hypocritical nature of a freeloaders bill, in general, if true.
