Finally, it’s going apparently going to happen.
Another monument to MEST orientation (that was a terrible thing in scientology back in the “good” old days) is going to be anointed by Dear Leader Miscavige as proof of the massive, unprecedented, straight up and vertical international expansion of scientology. Such a sham.
They will fly, bus, train and drive their way to Chicago from all over the US. They will scrape up a few hundred people and some shanghai’d* staff from other areas. The big man will jet in, be cheered and applauded for some inane words from the teleprompter. Everyone will celebrate the big accomplishment with much back-slapping. There will be seminars on Sunday. The circus will leave town. On Monday, nothing will have changed except the empty building will now be empty with its doors open and they will begin accumulating large utilities bills they can’t afford to pay.
It’s deja vu all over again. After 20 years you would think the sheeple would figure it out…
Those poor deluded souls still think it’s real.

Being from Chicago, I popped into the blog to check out what Scientology’s status is in Chicago.
I knew they were building a new campus somewhere. What a hoot to learn it’s still not open.
This is the 3rd largest metro in the nation. There’s almost 10mil. people in greater Chicago area, and this org barely functions.
The Midwest really seems impervious to this cult nonsense huh? What’s our secret sauce? Sweet Baby Ray’s?

I’m new, never in, creepy EST/Forum friends for a while, used to enjoy irritating dianscolientolngists.
I’m sure that the question is for Mr. Rinder, but I can make a start. Mike (with help would likely be able to make lists for the first two classes I indicate). Also, to Mr. Rinder, thank you for running this site on recent and currents in the world of Synthiotics.
Alleged Churches, ‘Tech.’ holding bodies, publishing, security, legal, administrative: at least twenty.
Front groups in prison counselling, drug rehabilitation, anti-psych., anti-medication, ‘human rights’: well over twenty, since they are multiple, especially for ‘human rights’, and most operate under seperate registration in multiple places.
Small-scale front mainstream businesses: I’d guess scores, and that listing and counting them is almost impossible.
Tonia says
Can you list (if you know) all the companies that are a front for Scientology.
A stand alone topic, like you have for “home , mission statement, about “ ect.
I just believe that maximum attention/.exposing , these companies , needs to be on direct display .
Standing out , and always showing last date updated. I just want to always know/never mistake, doing business/give my money to “the wolf” in sheep’s clothing.

You are so right: I can’t find Joe Celala’s Facebook entry anymore. Seems to have been deleted.

The returning FEBC teams will just mentally beat the crap out of whatever staff are still there and blame those that have been holding the fort while they were off training at Flag.
This happened to my Ex, Bobby Pieniadz. While Mary Smith, ED of the Boston Org, and the team were off training for the FEBC for 2 years, my Ex held the post of ED Boston Day. Bobby had half of a Staff Status One and some EO training but other than that nothing. That probably explains why Boston Day won the Birthday Game for several quarters while he was ED. He just glowed it right. The staff loved him and he made it fun and upbeat. Upon Mary’s return from FEBC training the first thing she did was assign Bobby to Treason for not expanding the org while she was gone. It was the beginning of the end for him. He thankfully didn’t last that much longer as the FEBC team behaved like rabid SO members and drove the org down even more. Boston Org is a shell of itself.

Patty, this Is typical of scn management. This reminds me of the Lausanne Org in Switzerland. Olivier Dufour and his wife Annie founded the Mission, then turned it into an Org and made it grow over time. Olivier was the ED while Annie was the D/ED. Olivier had charisma and excellent PR and savoir-faire. Annie had excellent organizational skills. They were well-liked and personal friends, beyond scn. They were old-school pioneers and capable. One day they sent two staff members to the FEBC for the positions of PES and HES, with the aim of expanding the Org. When these staff returned after years and a lot of expenses, they presented themselves as the new ED and D/DED. Olivier and Annie were removed but appointed as honorary ED and D/ED (or something similar). In practice, they eventually left the staff without even trying to fight, but you know how these things go, they had to stay quiet or face trouble. The new team didn’t accomplish anything worthy, in fact, Lausanne got worse. Olivier and Annie then went to Paris. Olivier died several years later while trying to close or unlock OT 7, while the last time I heard from Annie years ago, she was a public at CC Paris and I remember her like been sad inside. When I compare scn to a swarm of locusts, I don’t say it lightly.

This is such a great achievement for Scientology. Opening another property that will end up becoming a giant waste of space the following week.

Someone in $ci. promotions is going to have to scour all the pictures they put out to be sure the same 50 people aren’t shown in all 3 hugeumental opening extravaganzas. Angle shots, backs of heads and far away pictures may save someone a lot of grief.
Also will be interesting to see what IMPORTANT and POWERFUL dignitaries will trade an appearance with Dave for some chee$e.

It’s more or less what Mussolini did when he received Hitler on a visit to Italy. In every city they visited, the same troops were moved the day before to make it seem like he had a massive army.

There is a major street named Hubbard just about a mile north of the new org. What a missed opportunity to not find an empty building to gild on Hubbard street.

They announced the following staff numbers for these morgues:
Chicago: 13-man FEBC team and 138 staff.
Austin: FEBC team. 140 staff.
DelValle: FEBC team. 165 staff.
Assuming these numbers are true the question is how long will these people last? Are these FEBCers not being set up for a fail right from the get go?
Any person graduating from the FEBC is expected to go back to his org and apply the admin technology learned 100%. The result expected from this application is a booming org, shown by rising stats, within a couple of weeks of the graduate’s arrival. Failure to accomplish a marked increase of the org’s stats as above will result in immediate recall to Flag … at own expense. There is no other reason for an FEBC grad not to raise stats other than failure to apply the data learned. HCOPL 5 May 1971
The remaining general staff will be there for a day or two and then go back to wherever they had come from, drop out because they need to make money to live, money which they will never be able to make in the morgue. The tension between Scientology and society has simply become too great.

Is there a progress report on the Chicago org since its two months now that the new “Ideal Org” has been opened?
Frankly I can’t figure out where Chicago could have gotten 138 staff…I heard about a recruiting event a couple of summers ago where the original ED spoke, trying to get people to join staff.
Most of the attendees were individuals even older than the former ED and not involved w/ the church for years. I heard it didn’t look that hopeful…
Mike Rinder says
I doubt they ever had 138 staff. They may have had 138 staff there on the day Miscavige yanked his ribbon, but typically they import staff from other orgs and even the Sea Org to make the numbers look good. Many are gone in a few days, back to where they came from. In the first month a bunch are lost when they actually get their weekly paycheck and it is nothing like what they were promised. By now it is has probably settled down to reality. If there is anyone in Chicago who would like to swing by and take a peek it would be wonderful to hear…

Wow, what big news for scn, finally we’re getting back on track.
A silly question on my part, but with the various legal proceedings involving scn in one way or another, can DM leave the United States? I know he’s not indicted. Just curious.
Heidi Butler says
I am wondering the same thing.
What’s Miscavige’s end game when/if he’s indicted?
Will he run to a country that won’t extradite him back to the U.S.?
LoosingMyReligion says
Right. There are more than 80 countries over the world with no extradiction treaty with US. Just 12 in Southamerica. Something suggests to me that this last possibility is the most likely.

Hello Patty
I’ve read a lot about sci’ology, but what is FEBC training?
What is the Birthday Game, why is it quarterly, and how does glowing it right win the game? What is ‘it’?
I’ve been reading this blog for some weeks, usually understand what people are saying, but am stumped by this one. Must be new things.
