Jon Lundeen has been a champion money grubber for a LONG time.
Way back in the 70’s he was plying his trade at Flag.
He has been “Captain” at ASHO for many years now (a sure fire indication there is NO management structure in Scientology as one of the hallmarks of Scientology management is the musical chairs of org EDs/COs, especially for orgs like ASHO that have continued on a decades long slow decline).
But, the secret of his longevity is disclosed in his letter. Jon is a “team player.” Like a public whale who can get away with anything as long as he keeps filling the coffers of the IAS/Ideal Orgs/Library Campaigns/Preservation of The Tech/Superpower etc etc, Lundeen is a willing whore for whatever money-making scheme there is.
He is not working on training auditors (the primary function of ASHO — the ONLY strictly “training org” on earth), he is pimping for dollars.
By the way, you notice that Portland is now no longer the “First Scientology City”? Wonder if anyone told them that?
And this propaganda by redefinition of words is pretty amazing. Valley Org moving into their white elephant building will make Los Angeles a “Scientology City”? Really? Even if LA Org, Pasadena and Orange County (the LA “Ideal Orgs”) were kicking butt (they are not, the latest report I got is that staff at the “model” Ideal Org — LA — don’t even bother to pick up their “pay” as its not worth the time to deposit a check for a couple of bucks) they would still not be making a DENT on the population of Los Angeles.
If each of the 3 “Ideal Orgs” were getting 1,000 new public started on real services every week (and they are actually averaging 10 on good weeks) it would take 115 YEARS to get the population of the Greater LA area through Basic Courses. Adding another “Ideal Org” doing even a thousand a week is going to cut that back to 86 YEARS. But at the REAL rate that will actually be 8,600 YEARS.

2 things about this article…
1. A 9-foot tall thetan? Really? That’s the best you can come up with? 9 foot tall thetan?
2. I am actually really surprised they even get 10 people a week. I know LA has a massive and diverse population, but what 10 people this week thought to themselves, “Hmmm… even though everyone says this Scientology thing is super weird and creepy, I’ve read all kinds of crazy horrible stuff about it, and the people in the org an pretty wacked out, I’m gonna give it a go.” And after that, like most people would, they will go home and google “scientology”. After doing that, there is little to no chance they will come back. If anyone googles “scientology” and this it’s a good idea nowadays, well, they deserve to be extorted and brainwashed, it’s probably better for society if they are being watched and controlled.

BTW Mike, your Blog really has a certain enjoyable flair to it. It’s one of the first things I check in the morning to start my day. You really are the spokesperson of Scientology; at least one of the only ones who speak the truth. Thank you for what you do!
Jane Doe says
Yes, Mike, I commend you and thank you wholeheartedly for what you do. Your blog is what I read first thing every morning. What a great service you do to provide truth in such a cutting edge and funny way. It helps those who are in to come out, and it helps us who are out to blow more charge, and it helps debunk Der Furher the Midget. And it does a lot more than that too. I offered once to kiss your ring finger but you said all your fingers except the middle on are curled in and the middle on is up and pointed at David Miscavage. You go, man!

I remember Lundeen when he was the ‘Finance Minister(joke)’ at Flag in the mid 80s. Every major expense had to go thru him. It seemed like all he had to do is wave his hand and it was APPROVED! He was a joke then and it seems that he hasn’t changed his pimpingnesses.
As to GAG II, I get the idea that DM is going to announce that all certs are cancelled until public and staff are through their GAG II training. Wouldn’t put it past him!

Jon is just very PTS. He has been put under more stress on the biggest hot seats and he has been pimped into the ground and all the while mistreated with domestic abuse for decades. He looked like a hunted animal back in the 80’s. I was there when after decades of 120 hour weeks he got declared an S.P.! The whole cycle was total injustice. He eventually got dragged back out a propped up after the CMO who degraded and abused him had their fill on the sadism they were allotted to dabble in. Even back then I could see he needed to destimulate. But he forgives, and forgives and forgives. He has been loyal to the point of madness and blindness to the Church and his wife. He probably doesn’t bother to think anymore. They just become numb. It’s a shame, a waste, and very sad. David Miscavige should not be trusted with the care of a plant.

Man, I would LOVE to get a coveted photo ID from Flag to be admitted to the historical biggest ever Scientology tent when his highness announces GAT 2, so I could get a mic and say something like…
“Sir, I have a question…. remember IG Network Bulletin 39, Your progress to OT – Arbitraries Cancelled! – it has your name on the bottom, it says Captain David Miscavige, etc.
So remember these things you wrote there back in 1999 (it’s on the net so you can google it if you want) about the Golden Age of Tech auditors?
“… the results with their preclears are nothing less than spectacular… It is because Golden Age of Tech auditors deliver the tech EXACTLY as LRH intended.”
So my first question is, if the “old” 1999 GAT auditors deliver the tech EXACTLY as LRH intended, then what is GAT 2 needed for, what changes can we expect? Will auditors now be able to deliver more than exactly as LRH intended?
Second, since you say in that same issue that “the Golden Age of Tech… placed into all our Org Academies the ability to train perfect auditors at the speed necessary to actually create planetary clearing for real.”, you make me very, very curious to hear what you came up with to take us even higher.
Oh my, I can’t wait to hear the NUMBERS at the GAT 2 announcement… since this is a follow-up on the incredibly successful GAT 1, I’m DYING to hear how many of these PERFECT auditors were created during the 17 years of “phase one” of the Golden Age, what is that magic number we need to now turn into straight up and vertical and create even more perfecter auditors! Dave, you are a true GENIUS and the hardest working, most committed Scientologist EVER – even Chuck Norris couldn’t improve a PERFECT auditor when he tried, but you Sir, doing exactly that with GAT 2 – you are improving our already PERFECT auditors even beyond perfection! I bet you will take it WAY beyond perfection – who wants to have a PERFECT auditor when we can have a lot better than that?
Then you also said there that “A review of random folders across the planet found several instances where FALSE DATA had been entered into standard case programming. In many instances this resulted in Clears being programmed DOWN the Bridge. The fact is, Clears should be rapidly gotten UP to OT. … And if you are a stalled Clear… then the precise actions you need are those for stalled Clears and not some other lower Grade Chart action.”
OK, I get it, this was pretty clear… standard is standard. Up the Bridge is up the Bridge. Tell me again, what are those clears and OTs doing right now on the Purif, TRs and Objectives?
And, remember this one, from RTC ED 450, your 1991 Auditor’s Day issue? In that one, 5 years before GAT 1, you wrote “Academy Levels 0-IV were released with brand new checksheets, course packs and taped lectures… These checksheets were put together exactly as LRH intended, giving the student the fundamentals of each Grade from ARC Straightwire to Grade IV, and with each level taking only two weeks to complete.”
So GAT made training even faster and even exacter than LRH intended, and you are saying that you will be able to top even that, by making the training even faster and even more exacter than that?
Wow. I’m really glad you are at the helm Dave. Every few years we get some brand new tech, which is always more exactlier exactly as LRH intended!
You are the only big being in Scientology, a true leader who knows how to think now only for himself, but you also think for us! Can’t wait to have GAT 3 soon (please, please please!!!!) – I’m collecting all the materials from each re-release so I can have a chronological study of the exactness of the tech, as it became more and more exactly as LRH intended as time goes on!
I still have some books from the 70s and 80s, and the difference, the progress we made since then is nothing short of SPECTACULAR. I cringe when I see how unexact the tech was back then, how far it was from what LRH intended while LRH was still around. He just couldn’t get it right. Without you, Dave, the exact LRH tech as LRH intended would have never seen the light of day!
I just had this huge cognition that with the new, exactly as LRH intended tech that we now have, it is possible for ANYONE to achieve the state of Total Freedom as an OT with these levels on The New Bridge:
Higher GAT levels (as announced)
GAT III Completion
GAT III Preparation
Galactic Fundraiser (addresses the 7th dynamic case)
Super Power
Super Power Eligibility
GAT II Completion
GAT II Preparation
SuperCow (TM)
Endless Donation Rundown Completion
Triple Diamond
High Roller
Kha-Khan
Superhero
Humanitarian
GAT I completion
IAS Mega status owner
IAS Status owner
IAS Member
This New Bridge is SO much more like LRH intended, and with the IAS Statuses and GAT levels replacing the old (no longer used, historical) OT levels, I can clearly see how we will clear the planet overnight, exactly as LRH intended!

Tony DePhillips says
I think it would be great if Scientology helped people with services. Whether they be courses or auditing, if they helped that would be a good thing.
What I have a problem with is their hype (actually lies). why not just say they are helping people and they are doing the best they can and gradually help the planet out? It is more realistic. I do think that LRH advises against this type of safe promotion, and I think that is a fail on his part. As long as the cult is compelled to hype themselves up and then try to live up to the hype they will get into lying. It is like systemic lying and those lies help to dupe people and con them out of their money which is not okay with me. But I guess “religions” have this “right” built into them, which is very sad. I mean some people need hope and I get that. But do they really need to ruin their own lives in order to obtain hope? Not real logical.
Martin says
Yup.
Hallie Jane says
Your big heart is showing again Tony. I’m absolutely certain that everything LRH did, or tried to do, revolved around getting people to have cognitions…..the phenomena of truth. He would not have been cool at all with this crazy bullshit. He did have advices about selling Scn hard, but this was real Scn, again……..cognitions………freedom………..thetans, operating.
The Oracle says
I can only tell you this Tony. Hubbard did take measures to ensure this would never happen. On the L’s you DO confront what you have done to yourself because of others. Unfortunately the Church of Scientology has run a major CAN’T HAVE with this tech. Even on themselves. Running that can’t have on themselves is something they are doing to themselves. They themselves run the can’t have of the L’s on themselves, so they don’t get up to confronting the things they do to themselves because of others. It’s a twisted situation. But the “handle” was placed upon this Earth.

The moneygrubbing thing apparently runs in the family. I know of a Scientologist who runs a private taxi service who took Edie Lundeen to the airport. Even though Edie was told in advance what the rate for the transport was, she nevertheless paid the driver only about one-third of the amount and said flatly that that was all she was going to pay. Nice example of Sea Org “ethics.”
Hallie Jane says

plainoldthetan says
In the early ’90s, I knew the guy who, with ASHOF Bookstore Danny Shea’s help, bootstrapped the ASHO Auditor’s Association about a year before. The ASHO Auditor’s Association was I/Cd by a public volunteer, and the AA team managed to get about 100 regular attendees at Sunday Evening meetings. That AA managed to get over 1900 names signed up on the ASHO AA rolls, and a whole buncha them showed up for a picture in the LA Org parking lot, demonstrating “the largest auditor’s association on the planet”.
When GAT I was announced, Jon Lundeen was CO of ASHOD. He immediately issued “orders” into the ASHO Auditor’s Association, demanding stats of how many members were on GAT training and how many AA members had gone into the field and recovered AA members into the GAT.
As you can imagine, within a few weeks, there were no more Auditor’s Association meetings on Sunday nights. Everybody who had been interested in “getting the show on the road” (meaning getting auditing occurring in ASHOF’s immediate field in Los Angeles) were scattered to the four winds.
And I blame Jon Lundeen for violating the purpose of the Auditor’s Association and imposing unreal targets on it. Way to go, Jon.
Chris Mann says
That mechanism in various forms is very popular in the Church. It’s a big stop. Stop, you arent doing it right. Stop what you are doing and do this first. Stop wearing your hat and sell Basics. Stop this until you can do that which you cant do because we stopped the guy who does that. Now come to the IAS event.
Odd Thomas says
Jon Lundeen was an old school Tours Reg operating out of Johannesburg, South Africa in the 70s. When you imagine him making his way, one by one, through those small African Orgs and the effects he created at that time, think General Sherman, as he marched briskly through Georgia in 1865
I was posted at St. Hill at the time in the Finance Bureau and I had the pleasure of untangling many of his deals. Someone should hold him down while the words “Caveat Emptor” are tattooed on his forehead.

This gag 1 was a major event for seasoned auditors. I had worked so long and hard for my gold seals (the real gold) and had audited for many years. It felt exactly like a cataclysmic invalidation that hits the core of your soul. There are huge wins and gains and actual OT abilities to be achieved, on the real left side of the bridge and I had had plenty. I couldn’t believe all my achievements were ripped from me in such a callous and capricious manner. This was indeed an evil act of magnitude in forwarding the goal to dismantle LRH’s bridge. Lundeen has a lot to answer for.
Espiritu says
I think that to handle this avalanche of lies we need to run the correct process on the orgs. Instead of exclaiming and reacting in wonder at these over-the-top idiotic, mind-numbing lies, perhaps we should audit them on the old reliable process, “Tell me a lie”.
If, whenever a Scientologist received one of these ridiculous communications from an org, instead of rolling their eyes and sending it to the trash, they could send a reply. Here is a proposed reply:
“THANK YOU. I GOT THAT.”
“NOW, TELL ME A LIE.”

Off topic, but talking about masterful Reg’s reminded me, does anyone here remember working with Alex Yavaraski? I’m just curious. I worked for Alex years ago, after he’d already left the SO, in retail sales. His wife was also a Reg but was still in last I’d heard.
And thinking of people still in, is that Emiel still the MAA at Flag? And Mary Peck, I think was her last name, had been the LOC course supervisor at one point at Flag. Very powerful woman, tall red head.
I’d been offlines for so long before picking Scn back up in the FreeZone about a year ago. I’d love to hear the happy news that they’d gotten out.
Jane Doe says
I havn’t seen or heard of KTL and LOC being done for decades. That is one of the things Davie just let die a slow death or maybe he did a fast death blow to it, but I don’t think it’s even being offered or done now, just like the Class VIII course is no longer. When was the last time you heard of a Class VIII auditor being made?
Dave Fagen says
Key to Life was the 1990 cash cow, until GAT came out 6 years later, when KTL was all but forgotten. I was a KTL Sup until 1998 or so, and it gradually faded out over the years and I gradually moved over to the academy.
Brian Cox says
I had some really big wins on the KTL and would be very interested in learning to deliver the KTL in the Freezone/Independent field. You don’t happen to live in the Pacific NW do you, Dave? =)
Brian Cox says
It happens in the FreeZone. The tech doesn’t exist anymore in there. It’s only out here now.
Wasn’t KTL and LOC required for Superpower auditors? That could have been some “hidden days line” of DM’s for all I know.
Dave Fagen says

Gayle aka TroubleShooter says
Brian, Emil has been in motorpool driving the shuttle van for years now. Mary, she left the S.O. years ago now and per report wants nothing to do with Scn. She got in to home decorating I believe. Former FSO Student C/S D.Boykin. left the S.O., former FSO SHSBC C/S Andree left the S.O. (and AO FSO MAA did her damned best to try to alloy my affinity for her by telling me lies about her that I told her to stop saying because I didn’t believe her and she wasn’t there to defend herself) former AO/FSO Solo NOTs C/S Dave Long left S.O. (and reliable source said shot himself in head on a CA beach in early mid 2000s) former FSO SHSBC Supervisor Marshal, left the S.O, former ITO OEC/FEBC supe Al Baker left the S.O….there are rumors about their (dis)associations with the koolaid stand but rumors is what the cofs deals in. We can all hope they look(ed) at all the data for themselves.
Brian Cox says
Oh wow! I’d forgotten to ask about Marshall. He’d been the most incredible Co-audit supervisor while I was there. I’m so glad to hear he’s out of the SO at least. He’d be a great terminal to have active out here.

She did not care that I had to be sessionable and insisted on attempting to get into my car to go home with me! That was 2004. I got KRed for rudeness – oh dear….

Yeah, Bridgette was definitely that corrupt Reg valence personified. So glad I don’t live in a world where that is “winning” anymore.

It just occurred to me that maybe all the “enthusiasm” is being used as an attempt to make the sheeple pay SOME attention – ANY attention, to the comm. Maybe the promo is becoming increasingly, indefatiguably bizarre and outrageous and so forth just to get people to even read it at all. Sort of like how advertisers started using a little sex and nudity to grab attention to their product. In the beginning it works. But the problem is that people get used to sex and nudity so they have to up the gradient, which people then get used to, and so on. There comes a point where order to grab any attention they have to put out (pun intended) extremely provocative sex, shocking nudity. Many ads today are pornographic in my opinion. We’re so used to having sex and nudity blared at us that itsa big yawn, we’re flat on it (sorry, can’t stop with these puns, can I?) Anyway, the point being, its a good bet, now that I think of it, that Ronnie is right, that the RCS is desperate because Scientology public are in apathy, and so hugely over the top, shocking, incredible comm has to be outflowed for any attention to be paid at all. Yay!!!

You actually just become inured to all the overblown hype after a while. At least that’s the sort of mental hide I grew after decades of enduring the constant larger-than-the-universe sales pitches and proclamations from the church.
Of course, they’ve cranked up the hype well past 11 since I left for good last year. I can hardly believe most of the stuff I see reprinted here daily. It wasn’t so over-the-top, even recently. I really believe that a true desperation and panic set in after Debbie Cook’s email, and that it has only ratcheted up and up, ever since. You see it in the bone headed things they’re doing, and in the cringeworthy statements and emails they send out. It’s actually just a little bit scary.
Aquamarine says
Agreed on all, Ronnie. That’s exactly how it was for me. And it is indeed kind of scary to read this increasingly over the top stuff now. Maybe you’re right, and what we’re observing are the RCS’s death throws. Hope so.

That’s definitely my perception too. The hyperbole is SO overblown and ridiculous since Debbie’s mail that not even the die-hards take it seriously. I bumped into a KA drinker recently and although he didn’t dare actually communicate his intention and desire to talk was palpable. The truth has permeated very deep into all corners of the field. Tomorrow in a small courthouse in Texas will be one of the final nails.

So the condition of Emergency starts contains “prepare to deliver.” Is the church admitting that its in emergency on its stats by preparing to deliver. That’s contrary to the PR. Think about it. May 1996 was such per Int Management, but I notice that 25% of the people I trained with are now declared, another 20% no longer involved with the Church at all, and I’m fairly certain another 10% of that 600 are laying totally low.
Not to mention that at least 250 people of 1200 are no longer with the unit I was involved with at middle management.

Perhaps the next “golden age” release of the Admin Dictionary and OEC volumes will find these definitions omitted and any PL’s containing them that can’t be ommitted themslves will find curious new langnuage, but the ‘ol LRH signiture will still be found at the bottom of the page.
It is sure convenient that DM own’s all the copyrights of LRH materials, as well as the man’s signature itself. With a man of his towering intellect and humanitarian inentions protecting us from “SP’s” who needs SP’s?

The rate of “clearing the planet” is even worse than you suggest. The population of the “Los Angeles Combined Statistical Area” (LA County, Orange County, Inland Empire) is 13.1 million, and it’s growing at about 1.75% per year. That means that every year, the population grows by 230,000 people. If the LA Ideal Orgs are getting a combined 230 people per year in the door and actually doing Scientology, that would seem reasonable. So in other words, they are clearing just 0.1% of the net change in population of greater Los Angeles. They’re not even getting started on the existing population. It’s hopeless. They won’t get there in 86 years, or 8,600. They won’t get there in forever.
Paul J says
John, the number of people leaving Scientology far exceeds the number entering. So issue isn’t how long it will take Scientology to clear greater Los Angeles, but rather how long before the Co$ no longer exists.
Ronnie Bell says
…the number of people leaving Scientology far exceeds the number entering.
That is a correct statement by statistic and personal observation. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to conclude that the church’s days are numbered. No doubt, Davey’s figured that out as well, and has already made plans for his real future. One that doesn’t include the current woebegone, failing organization – or it’s fleeced and suppressed parishioners.
It’s why things coming out of the church appear to be crazier and more frantic by the day. I believe the degree of nuttiness and intensity is directly proportional to how close to collapse they are.

I recall what the *Church* declared Jon Lundeen for extensive Financial Irregularites,
Distancing themselves from the *Crimes* of Lundeen, his declare pointed the fact it was all HIM.
However, in short order he got *UNDECLARED* ~~~ no A to E for Lundeen..he could vacuum suction the
$$$$$$ out of anyone ! Money gouging is needed. Those that have the knack, hey, who cares about some illegal authorized charges here and there and using up advance payments for unwanted books and so on?

I recall that game. When I said no to an order that was a duplicate to a large and expensive book set I’d already purchased, my card was run anyway, bouncing mortgage payments. When at first it didn’t go through due to being a higher than average purchase for my card, the Bridge rep. simply broke the amount into smaller amounts that would get approved. When I complained, they just “handled” me saying I was a BIG BEING and could find a way to make it go right!!! Good luck chaps, quite some karma you created and by the way, you might want to word clear KSW, just for a few laughs.

Karen you’re absolutely spot on about how the church bends the rules if you can Hoover suck money from victims. , oops, I mean church members. Another case like that was Hy Levy, may he RIP. He was a top reg for Flag for decades. And when he got on the routing form to leave staff, rules are that you are not on post while getting your Sec Checks, and are on the decks. Flag made him continue to stay on post regging and handling public because he was so good at it, so they bent the rule for him because he pulled in lots of money. I think he said he was regging for the entire 18 months it took him to get through that leaving staff routing form. If you got money or can reg money, ethics and rules don’ tapply to you. Money: the new Ka Khan.

+1,000 Jane.
Same for public. You can literally get away with stealing husbands, child molestation, violating non-enturb orders (the day after they are posted), cheating people in business deals (if that money goes into the org, of course) and taking money out of a single mom’s pocket if YOU have money or know people who do.
These things all, factually happened and the people who reported on them were the people who got harassed by ethics. I kid you not.
So sad about Lundeen. He actually helped me a time or two BEFORE he was at ASHO.
And Dave Horriddell (Horwidell). What a black hole. And what’s up with Michael the IAS kid. Creeeeeepy.
Jane Doe says
Indie 8 Mill, I agree. And I haven’t heard Dave Horwidell’s name in decades. He was a black hole. Is he IN or OUT of the church? And is he sucking down Kool Aid still?

Dear Extortees,
We’re going to crank up the pressure.
You will brankrupt your family for generations to come and find a “good” justification.
You’re not going to get Scientology unless you cough up. Regrettably, we lack the imagination to come out with any better-sounding superlatives.
The burden of “First Scientology City” has been assigned to you. It must be done yesterday, else you will not get out of treason.
The extortion has been scheduled for this weekend. The racks are ready, dress code is black leather or latex. You would regret missing it.
You will make this happen. As one recent, glorious president succinctly stated: “If you’re not with us, you’re against us.”

Apparently Jon and Edie have two children. When I knew them they had one. Both are apparently in the Sea Org. Although I doubt either parent sees much, if anything, of their kids — this is another example of devotion by hostage — or faith by old age attrition — or head of a church most everyone can’t stand, thereby having no where to turn.
Jon Lundeen was always a bit of a pin-head IMHO — Edie was at least feisty with a touch of tech savvy. It’s all painfully sad.

Edie Lundeen, wife of Jon, is just as bad as he is. I’ve head she was a highly classed auditor. If so, she fell from grace somehow cuz now she is a registrar at the FSC office. Her 1.1 manipulative reg tactics are lies and are unethical to say the least. I could go on and on about her.
Cece says
Yes re Edie. I was Dissem Sec AO for just 3 weeks when she gave my Book Store Office OK to – get this – sell books to persons requesting refunds. The books were then to be shipped to Missions and the sale $ sent to the person’s who’s money it came from. Hummmm. I knew n/g about it but after the meter check with 4 persons watching the meter, I was sent to the RPF over that which I did not know about. ED Int was there running the show. He lied to me then and I lost all respect for him. That was in 1982 I think. Right after the mission bust. Edie was CO Pubs.
Cece says
I believe Eric Reinerson (the BSO) was declared over that one. Never to be seen again – and his wife Carolyn an auditor/valuable being went with him I believe (I was on the RPF so I think that’s what happened).
A week or so later (when the mission and ED INT left) the Super Cargo (James Fuller – a NOTS auditor busted to SC or maybe he was Personnel Officer and Connie Rody was SC) sent a written order for me to return to AOLA. I stayed put and Orders Queried because I was having so much fun learning to use an e-meter on the RPF 🙂

I think the First Scientology City should be the one that gets the most photoshopping! Lots more people in attendance, add some more stories to each scientology building, a couple more tents visible down the street, and ‘shop in a couple images of Miscavige on a couple of stages. Whoo-hoo! Straight up and vertical!! Oh–but be sure to take that nasty furrowed brow out of his forehead and make him all sweet and benevolent-looking. Perfect!
