These two pieces may not have been seen by everyone, but they are worth viewing.
They are perfect examples of the PR meltdown that is taking place before our very eyes.
For some time ABC has been cowed by legal threats. This one breaks the ice.
I know it was on Tony Ortega’s blog, but it was at the end of a series of stories and I am not sure if everyone saw it.
And Wendy Williams is simply fearless.

Did you guys HEAR the responses from Wendy Williams’ audience??!?
The WORLD is gasping and moaning like that right now after hearing this “head of a church” saying such vile things about someone, especially someone who spent 30 years and countless dollars with them.
You go, Leah. We got your back out here. Not only us Indies & co., but the Non-Scientology public too.
Davie is pathetic. Go, Dave. Just go. Take whatever you want and get out. You’re ruining it for Scientology and for anybody who might like to be helped with it.

Do you know why the video of Leah does not work, same on Karen’s site?

It is wonderful to view such great video exposing David Miscavige and the cult for what it is. I hope to see much more in the future.

Just checked out Tony Os article of today and it is something else, so I must have missed these clips in one of his previous articles.

Thank you so MUCH Mike for posting this and sharing these videos. These are great! Yay, Leah! I had not seen the ABC story. You are doing such a temendous service to all of us and you are so appreciated as well as is Tony, Karen, Tory, Marty and all the others with their book and blogs. You are all heros. Thank you.

And now my mind is leaping to Greta, She’s still a loyal KA Guzzler, right? Will HE pressure her to make a public statement defending her cherch? Pass zee popcorn, s’il vous plait et encore merci beaucoup Monsieur Rinder.

And now my mind is leaping to Greta, She’s still a loyal KA Guzzler, right?
Who knows? As a member of the media, Greta doesn’t have the luxury of being able to sport the church supplied blinders and ear plugs that regular public do. There’s no way that she’s not aware of every negative aspect of the the church’s dramatic collapse, and DM’s hand in it.
I can only say that I don’t envy her position in this mess. The last thing she would want is to become the story, but how can she distance herself from the corrupt church unless she publicly breaks with them? What a conundrum.

CAUTION: GUSH ALERT.
Please choose the gushing cliche metaphor that most aptly describes your state of mind after viewing both of the above ABC news clips on YouTube:

2) My cup runneth over! _________.
3) I’m Over The Moon!__________.
4) All of the above! ____X________.

Is it too early to start a betting pool on the When and How of DM’s downfall?
I’m thinking we could make a grid with some vertical colums like Breakdown, Exile, Coup, Indictment, and maybe Death. And horizontal rows for different blocks of time, maybe by calendar quarter. Would this be evil purpose?
Ronnie Bell says

You’re describing a Progress Board. Something that every Scientology staff member is familiar with. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that someone has put together that exact thing.

Mildred Ratched (@anne_sades34) says
just to clarify, The story wasn’t that Leah asked DM “where’s Shelly?” right? Didn’t she ask someone else when she saw him groping his communicator?
Mike Rinder says
BOth
Mildred Ratched (@anne_sades34) says
whoa, so she personally asked him “where’s shelly?” Ballsy!! Is that when TD told her to eff off?
The Oracle says
She asked after she noticed his secretary was rubbing his butt, and his wife was absent.
New Yorkers tend to embrace red flags. Then she wrote a K.R, on David Miscavige. As a result she was tortured for years at the Flag Land Base at her own expense.

Mike I loved both clips. The ABC Night Line piece was the most comprehensive in a long time putting together major stories over the past 2 years. And Wendy Williams was right on! DM doesn’t realize that real people think like Wendy – “Can you imagine your Rabbi or Priest calling you self absorbed?” She hit the nail right on the head. Another major fail for Miscavige.

I’ve met a protestant priest who was also a choleric and would happily say more than that 😉

I was so proud of the Cof$. They had a moment of case gain by admitting in that e-mail, they need to improve their image to start the new era of expansion.
But, sadly, they roller-coastered, with what may be the worst PR statement ever issued in the history of the universe.
Cof$, I’d like to indicate your PTS item is “David Miscavige”

I thought ABC showed some balls to caption from The Independent “King of Queens star Leah Remini leaves ‘corrupt’ Church of Scientology after 30 years.” – The word corrupt really jumped out at the viewers (about 16 million or so… see below)
DWTS Stat Info: “Dancing with the Stars” (8:00-10:01 p.m.)
Building steadily throughout its opener and growing year over year, ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” ranked as Monday’s most-watched TV show (16.0 million), drawing the biggest audience for any TV series telecast since May – since 5/14/13. “Dancing” was up from its year-ago season opener (9/24/12) by 13% in Total Viewers (16.0 million vs. 14.1 million) and by 24% in Adults 18-49 (3.1/9 vs. 2.5/7), marking the show’s strongest telecast since March 18, 2013.
Still On Your Side says
It is well known that IRS officials (and other agencies) often open investigations based on things they see on T.V., or read in the newspaper. It would be an historic irony if, after ignoring hundreds of news stories about Miscavige’s self-inurement and dirty tricks, an IRS official finally orders an investigation of the Church of Scientology, because he/she watched Leah R on Dancing with the Stars.

Those were great Mike!! I hadn’t seen either one.

ABC stated it right “a scathing comment from the Church” (scathing- adjective -witheringly scornful; severely critical) which in auditor’s parlance equates to “critical = MWHs”….
Tick-Tock for you DM…we know you have straight up and vertical MWHs….
Alanzo says
Leah Remini is the most effective critic of the Church of Scientology I have ever seen. She is communicating with powerful human truths and truly gracious actions, while the heartless clods of Scientology reveal themselves for exactly who they are to the entire world.

Sheldon Goldberg says
The negative press just keeps coming. Hi props to Leah for “putting her money where her mouth is.” I have a feeling she is just getting warmed up. That snarky attack from the church was from someone that has no idea how others think. DM must not be listening to his high priced PR firm, Sitrick – as no way was advised to respond like that.
Jane Doe says
The church’s reply to the charge that they still do disconnection, is to say that no, the people all make their own independent decisions on whether to disconnect or not. But they don’t add that the church is on the other side of the person saying, “but you won’t get your OT Levels unless you disconnect…” and the person thinks their entire spiritual freedom is at stake here not just for this lifetime but for all others after it in the future. So then the decision to disconnect is easy for them. It is blackmail and extortion on the church’s part.

LOL, I can see Dave screaming with the Internet Director:
I want you to SHUT DOWN the Internet, you bitch, NOW!!! N-O-W!!!! Make it stop until the OSA project I masterminded (IF YOU would just let me f&@ing do it!!!) removes all youtube videos, blog posts and entheta about ME.
What’s so f&@ing hard about that, you f&@ing suppressive m…f… idiot? You are trying to SABOTAGE me, RUIN me, POISON me, and you probably stole my scuba diving gear my communicator couldn’t find yesterday, and YOU are probably responsible for our trouble getting the TENT approved in Clearwater and the tube that blew in my tanning machine, you … (add random insults here)
STOP THE INTERNET! NOW! You’ve got 5 minutes! I’ll be back in 5 and if the internet is still running, you are on the RPF, BITCH!
KFrancis says
At some point Dave will order an investigation and will come to the inevitable conclusion that it was Steve Jobs and Bill Gates who conspired to bring him down many years ago. Working out of an old garage they planted the seeds that allowed everyone who had a few bucks to have a computer.
SP declares for both men and steps they will have to taken with IJC are in progress. It doesn’t matter that they are not Scientologists or no longer with us.
Once those still in the church are given this as the correct “Why” then the stops are off and it’s straight up and vertical from there.
Ronnie Bell says
Scientologists who saw this must have cringed like never before in history.
Most corporate Scientologists have long been trained to turn the channel or tune out at the first mention of the word, Scientology. It’s part of the cultural programming. It’s why most of those on the inside are still there. They lack the data to make sense of all the outpoints piled around them. Why? They’re reflexively obeying the old command, “DON’T LOOK!”
KFrancis says
Ronnie, I sent a copy of Debbie Cook’s email to two friends, one of which had just completed OT 8, they refused to read the whole thing. Their defenses went up and wrote it off as “entheta” and were certain Debbie Cook was the problem.
I tried to communicate to another friend (An HCO Secretary at a new Ideal Org) about the situation but he said the same thing, he didn’t want any “entheta” on his lines. I had gotten him into Scientology back in the 80’s.
They didn’t want to look and I was sent packing as a friend in both cases.
Ronnie Bell says
K, on the day that my Declaration of Independence was published on Marty’s blog and Steve Hall’s site, I also sent it to every Scientologist I had an email address for. I didn’t have a very big list. It was less than twenty people, but they were all close friends. Some, I had known for nearly forty years, and some family members were also in that mix.
Of all those people, only one emailed me a ‘high five’ with no comm lag. Two or three others violently disconnected from me, while the rest never responded at all. Many of the silent ones were also Facebook friends, and most of them subsequently disappeared from my friends list.
Interestingly, a couple of them engaged me in back and forth debate about the contents of my write-up. Despite the fact that it detailed well known activities of the church, contained no H,E,and R, and was backed up by LRH policy and tech references for every outpoint listed, they still tried to justify the departures and violations.
Let me tell you, it was a real eye-opener.
KFrancis says
Once the communication filters go up “entheta” can’t pass through but neither can the truth.
Alanzo says
Miscavige also showed his cruel and heartless idiocy during the Lisa McPherson incident back in the late 90’s. When asked by a reporter for Miscavige to comment on the death of Lisa McPherson, he said, “She died. People die.” and walked on.
When I saw that my jaw dropped. I was a member of the Church at the time and I thought, “Wow. This is the Ecclesiastical Leader of my Scientology Religion!”
It was yet another dagger of reality from the group I had thought I had joined.
Then it turns out that Lisa McPherson was a pc of his as a “C/S”.
I can see why many Indies think that Scientology would be just fine if it weren’t for David Miscavige. It isn’t true, of course, but I can see why they think that.

Markthehungarian says
This will all continue, and get worse, until David Miscavige realizes that as the head of a “worldwide religion” and as the greatest leader of all (according to Tom Cruise), because he’s “met them all,” the slide will continue until Miscavige himself steps up to the mic, takes interviews, and handles the situation with the same poise and awareness that he showed on Nightline 25 years ago. Or that he demonstrated in court a few years back, when it was clear that everyone in the room realized that DM is an uneducated fool. An idiot. A dumbass.
Of course, he has enough self-awareness to know that he is unsuitable to lead anything other than a flock of brainwashed kool-aid drinkers.
Idle Morgue says
Wow – this is fantastic! It is picking up momentum and soon no one will be afraid of the church of Scientology!! You – Mike Rinder – helped! It is the highest ranking officials that have left the Church of Scientology that has gotten the ball rolling on exposing the abuse and criminal activity of this “religion”…that hides behind its religious cloak!
Thank you for speaking out and telling the truth! This made my day!
Dan says
Damn, the Kool Aid must be tasting a little less sweet these days. BTW, where is Shelly?
Roy Macgregor says
Wow. That ABC piece is like a 10 million watt spotlight on David Miscavige’s insanity. He is giving EVERY scientologist the reputation of being a nasty and sleazy creep. Go Dave! Scientologists who saw this must have cringed like never before in history. Straight up and vertical humiliation to be part of a religion that treats people like dirt.

That’s hilarious, 1984dejavue!! Think the anonymous guys can get someone to give a bulk price on a DM mask??? Better yet than Halloween, why don’t they just wear the DM masks at protests?? Especially some very unflattering face that DM hates!
Can you imagine His revulsion at coming out to see a sea of David Miscaviges saying things like, “I want your daughter’s college fund too.” “Heber is NOT in the Hole” and “Quit asking me about SHELLY!!”
😀 ROTFL!!! 😀
Thanks, I needed that!
