I included an item in the last Thursday Funnies about a Vancouver scientologist trying to solicit positive reviews for the org — lamenting there were only 7 reviews and by adding his 5 star review he had bumped the average up to 4.1 from 4.0.
Uh oh, look what happened….
Val Ross alerted me to the fact that his post is now the FIRST image on the Yelp site for Vancouver org! Begging people to give good reviews.
And the average Yelp rating has gone down to 3.9 with a massive 10 reviews now…
Scientology and social media are oil and water.

‘Scientology and social media are oil and water.’
That should be the case, but is not. I don’t play, but hear that Scn. voices are well organised on FB, Twitter (or X), etc.
Even on such a small scale as the comment threads of this site, LRH loyalist ‘squirrel’ and other ‘squirrel’ Scientologists have the loudest and most voices much of the time.

I’m not sure which comments you are reading, the LRH loyalists are few and far between and if they are posting here they are certainly not part of any organized scientology activity.

A few are, have seen several only from several posts that clearly state adherence to Fatty’s ideas, that all was great until the CMO/Miscavige takeover.

While I was in Columbus, the Public Exec Sec used to solicit positive google reviews of the org from staff and public. Mine is probably still there. 😬

Newsflash!
Instead of trying to game Yelp, how about delivering what you promise, not scamming people out of their money, not breaking up families and not practicing Fair Game?

Exactly, earth needs more Xenu R6 implanted body-thetans freed and helping to save earth, yesterday already. Run out those engrams and exorcise those body-thetans, do your job Scientology! yea, leave the families alone if they gripe about Xenu.

I forgot Yelp was a thing. I honestly didn’t know people still use it. To be honest though it wouldn’t surprise me of Scientologist still used it. That would not only explain the lack of reviews but relatively high review of this org.

I wonder how many more days until more low reviews show up. Also I feel like they might be hiding some of the reviews because I’ve seen some businesses do that. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Scientology did since they only want the “positive side” of Scientology out there and not the negative.

Scientology is really a bunch of families, who fear the disconnetion policy, at this point. The cult has a brand, so bad that new people, would have to not, have heard about scio. These people, probably live in parts of the world, where English is not the first, or maybe second language. Clearly the internet is deleting COS. There is so much free material out there, plus Hubbard and Miscavige have been exposed, by Russell Miller, and Jon Atack, amongst others.
Kind regards
Kim

Oh whoops! Social media is not your friend. Scientology has gone from Telex to pretending they know how they can manipulate social media. Without the ability to surf the entire internet, not just the approved sites Scientology allows, it is impossible to understand the rules or the effects of your actions. I don’t want that guy to get the kind of “justice” Scientology will dish out to him for this footbullet, but hopefully he will open his eyes and begin his journey out.
TrevAnon says
It would be so totally, totally, totally WRONG if all you glorious people go downvote the org now.
That would so totally wrong and against all kinds of rules and ethics and whatever.
Please don’t do that!
Suzie Lovell says
Wow what a surprise! Actually not really. I am sure there will be more and more negative reviews soon.

The 10 reviews you refer to are the recommended reviews – but there are also an additional “11 other reviews that are not recommended at the moment”. And they speak for themselves: cult, creepy, cheating, lying, money, money …
As you say: Scientology and social media are oil and water.
