How to raise a million dollars for another failed ideal org.
Get $382,220 (odd number?) from crazy David Wilson (credit where credit is due; he DOES put his money where his mouth is — just further proof how crazy he is) and $500,000 from “OUR ROYAL GUV, PRINCESS WARRIOR AND OFFICIAL VALLEY ROCKSTAR GODDESS.”
Just why is it that Nancy Cartwright is always referred to euphemistically? “The Honorary Mayor Of The Valley” etc etc etc? She is afraid to have her name associated with this nuttiness? Apparently so, in which case, why not just take her money and don’t mention her at all? It’s a very strange scenario. The crassness of promoting how much money they collect and listing everyone by name, but the single biggest sucker isn’t named, but sort of is? Do they think this is going to keep it from the rest of the world and this is just their internal secret?
But weirdness aside for a moment. this email is sobering in one respect.
A million dollars is a LOT of money (though perhaps only 5% of what they plan to spend to open another empty palace) and it shows what sort of hold the church still has over its dwindling flock and why it will be some time before it finally dies. They have created a culture where THE fundamental principle of survival is hand over money in exchange for phony status we bestow upon you. All of these people can travel a few miles and see the FAILED ideal org in Pasadena or LA or the complete joke in Inglewood. But that would be meaningless to them — they get excited about hearing an ideal org finally made a clear after 2.5 years… Tell them ANYTHING, assert it is “good news” that is “proof” we are now “clearing the planet” and they prostrate themselves before an image of “COB The Savior” and turn over their money. And their “big game” is to be able to send their “representatives” to the Freewinds to tell “COB” they made a million dollars.
This is obviously a pretty complete list of those who who support this nuttiness in Valley — the “largest concentration of scientologists in the world.” It includes people like Bruce Wiseman giving $10…. Why bother? It’s like giving a penny to a homeless person. Not really a gesture, more of a “fuck you.”
That list, with the exception of the two whales is pathetic.
More evidence that as with other “ideal org” fundraising efforts, if the org does NOT have one or two whales to keep sucking on, nothing happens at all. So, they resort to bringing in whales from other areas for the new trick called the “alliance” game. Thus the long since deceased Joe Feshbach is turned into a current poster child for Mountain View, along with his brother Kurt (who has NOTHING to do with that org at all and has lived in Clearwater for decades)… The Duggans and Jensens are tapped for San Diego etc etc (In fact, the Duggans are tapped for South African orgs now they have destroyed their field, but the reason for that is a very interesting story for another time….)
But the Valley does have one thing down.
They are Golden Age of Tech Exclamation Point Rundown Completions with Gold Seal Meritorious Humanitarian Status.
And one last point — the million dollars doesn’t even impinge on the total amount needed to complete the RENOVATIONS of the insane building they have purchased.

Damn you age fast in that church
Aquamarine says
Excellent data, Mike. Had to laugh as I read down the list of non-whale donations – $25m $50m $10 from Bruce Wiseman, that’s a hoot. All these tiny amounts reminded me of how when I was in and I couldn’t get out of attending an Ideal Org Fundraiser, I would just show up for a while, sit thru the various spiels, eat a little of the inevitable baked ziti to be polite, throw them $25 and get out of there as soon as possible, always with a sigh of relief which did not dispel my underlying, unexpressed resentment at having caved and attended in the first place. Lurkers, you Still-Ins and Under The Radars reading here, is this what you do now?
Aquamarine says
Edit: Didn’t mean to type “m” after those first two dono amounts!
Aquamarine says
And I’d like to add that, as little as $25 seemed to me in those days, today I wouldn’t even consider parting with that much money for the Cof$.!
Today, it would bother me to give them even a dollar.
I’m serious. In some countries $1 is a lot of money, and $25 can feed a family of 4 for a month in the 3rd world. Even in America, it can come in handy.
I’m actually furious with myself that I gave these creeps anything. Vultures.
And, by the way, I’m not considered stingy by people who know me. Conceptually, I’m just as pissed at having given CoS $25 as I am at having given them over 5K. And if I’m feeling this way, God Almighty, I pity what’s in store for the Cartwrights, Wilsons, Duggans and other Whales when the day comes that they no longer can twist and turn from the truth, and have to confront what their donations did buy. Yuk.
zemooo says
So 5k only gets you 2 exclamation points but 500k will get you shit loads of !!!
The ‘strategic alliance’ between various mOrgs to share the whales is just another sign of dwindling membership and a few whales who spend anything to keep their ‘status’. Davy must be very certain of his level of control and manipulation on these whales. Done poorly and the whales escape, done well and you get Nancy Cartwright…
scnethics says
That’s over 88% of the total donated by less than 1 percent of the donors. I don’t think the final ratio for the whole project will be that skewed toward the whales, but it will be very skewed nonetheless. Without the whales, these things just do not happen!
On the flip side, as you say Mike, with this core group of whales, these projects can continue for a long time.
John Doe says
“First weekly…”
Now I know what the multiple exclamation points are all about.
Utter, agitated panic about how to be ‘upstat’ next week.
And the week after that.
And after that…
Espiritu says
I am always happy to hear of someone making it in Hollywood because because there are many talented people who try and only a few succeed. Talent is a factor, but so is business acumen and luck. I don’t know much about Nancy Cartwright’s talents, but she definitely also got lucky with her 23 year role as the voice-over for Bart Simpson. Most celebrities acknowledge the luck factor and I hope that she does. It made her rich. She can now afford to donate a part of her fortune to buy a building for the IAS. That’s her right.
But she could have just as well paid for $5000 worth of auditing and auditing for 100 actors and actresses who are starting out and striving for success in Hollywood …..and the money still would have gone to the COS! Instead she decided to help buy a MEST building. Why? My guess is that she currently feels a need for a pat on the back from the SP who is bent on destroying Scientology more than she wants to help actual people to enhance their lives. Too bad.
Maybe one day she will wake up and say, “Doh!!”
barefacedmessiah says
Does anybody know what a “virtual fundraiser” is? Is it by phone?
There are 234 rows and 115 “&” signs. So there are 349 members … let’s say 700.
How many of them are on course? Are they all from Valley?
Mocking Jay says
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is all!
Jethro Bodine says
Well, well, well, it looks like some of the usual tone-40, kool-aid drinking, bubble-dwelling sheeple have been so over regged that they can only cough up an average of $50 to make the regges go away. Or perhaps the regges are just getting soft sell by this point, knowing how bankrupt these people are. After all, these are the same people who are shamed into going to every idle morgue event in the LA area.
Only a whale like Nancy Cartwright can make a whale-size donation. This is what Scientology has evolved to in 2014 – only the few whales that are left in $cientlogy can continue to support this dwindling Ponzi scheme.
The even bigger outpoint is that the focus of actvity in $cientology is now out-exchange fundraising, donate large sums of money only to receive a meaningless “status”. The Birthday Game has even been modified to count the amount of money raised for idle morgues. This activity is not even supposed to be done, and never was one of the main stats to indicate the health of an org. This is because the real stats of the orgs are in non existence, so “Int Management” modified to the birthday game to count the fundraising stats.
Hallie Jane says
Great post Joe P, but don’t forget that the valley is the porn capital of the U.S. This industry pumps billions into the economy. Think of the potential for new whales.
NoEyeDeer says
The real reason Valley org still isn’t done is because NO ONE IN THE VALLEY F’ING WANTS SCIENTOLOGY THERE! PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF IT! So a couple of whale d-bags throwing money at the project isn’t going to accomplish anything. These people are under the false impression that “if you build it they will come.” Wake up! That was a line from the movie, Field of Dreams, not a fact of life.
Joe Pendleton says
Where to start …… where to start. In a very real sense, this shows what a frickin’ genius Miscavige is in his chosen field. When did he fully realize that Scientology would stop expanding as far as numbers go and that he needed to concoct other games to keep the bigger game going? The opening of the FSO had already started the de-valuing of orgs for both tech quality (in the FSO actual promo even from Ron himself) and in the claiming of any “whales” for services in the mid to late 70s. Then when Miscavige slaughtered Martin Samuels & Co. in 1982, he killed the largest arm of dissemination and supply of new people into Scientology. So into the 80s the expansion of Scientology itself as far new people involved effectively stopped (in any great numbers).
So first, to keep money coming in, you had to get money from folks who HAD ALREADY PAID FOR MAJOR SERVICES. First, he started peddling Ron’s fiction (which was never done in the old days) and then of course in 1987 I think it was, the IAS. Believe me, it was a huge step for me to plunk down the 2 Gs to be a lifetime member then and I thought “well, that’s it on that.” Ha ha. When the Patron thing started and I heard that my old friend Sheldon Goldberg had put down 40 Gs for that, I was stunned. Wow! Forty fucking THOUSAND bucks! And remember “just” being a patron was PURE GOLD then. You were now Scientology royalty. Ha ha. Oh, how naïve I was!!! Who knew this was just the beginning?
Along with the track of forcing donations for stuff other than services (how to get money when no new folks were coming in to buy major services), Miscavige added “get the folks in to RE-DO their services”! That got going big time in 1996 – GAT – and has never stopped. Keep them doing everything over and over again (witness the bizarre phenomenon of Scientologists deciding they never did get the study tech …. and then deciding that again !!!???!!!). Then of course Miscavige got the game going for the buildings and another status and another status … your own org, the super power building, now other orgs in your wider area, etc etc etc) And now decide, no matter what your case level, that you need objectives AGAIN.
All to keep the money coming in and the game going WITHOUT EXPANING SCIENTOLOGY EITHER BY GETTING NEW FOLKS IN OR INCREASING THE NUMBER OF AUDITORS WHO CAN ACTUALLY AUDIT PEOPLE.
And so you have the absolute brilliance of Miscavige (no irony or sarcasm intended – he is a genius at what he is doing, criminal though it may be).
The surprise continues to be those folks who despite their training and processing levels and decades in the church continue to not-is it all, stay and contribute, such as so many of the folks on this list of contributors. And geez ….. “the valley” …. what a bleak and depressing place much of it is, especially when it’s smoggy … talk about PTS to the middle class in spades! Think Nancy Cartwright actually spends any time in “the valley”? Santa Monica, Malibu, etc I can believe, but the frickin’ VALLEY? Dudes!!!
shelgold says
Yes, miscavige is a very clever fuck. But he is also incredibly stupid when it comes to real world PR. But I guess that’s your point, he figured out how the PR doesn’t matter. Just keep soaking the faithful. I know more of them will cognite every day. I hope it only a short time before the house of cards collapses.
Speaking of becoming a patron – what a crazy story. In 1987 I came to flag for some help. I got zero. Was regged for the OEC course for 35K, which I would never be able to do since I had a business in Minnesota and 2 young kids. Then, I was regged to be a patron. All within the first 20 hours of arriving. The next day I tried to get my money back and simply couldn’t. So, I was supposed to get an arcx session. I knew the only thing to do was to blow from flag before the session since I didn’t want the auditor (whoever would be) to go to the RPF when I blew after the session. I mean, I paid them 75K that I didn’t have. I was in the oil business and collected gasoline tax which I had to pay the government the next month. I took that money and gave it flag.
I was staying at the ft harrison. I left my suitcase in the room , walked about a mile and flagged a cab to the airport. Back in those days you could fly without showing any ID. I paid cash for my ticket under a fake name. I was so worried that flag would track me down, I flew to Indianapolis instead of Minneapolis in order to trick anyone at flag.
I’m so lucky my kids never got into scientology. Actually, no one from my entire family ever got in. Thank god.
scnethics says
This story is amazing on a few levels, but especially that this was not the end of your time in scientology.

Wow! I remember these two from back in the day from Boston: Joe Scoglio & Jeannie Deva – $50.
They must be really flourishing and prospering and really with the program by forking over SOOOOO much for this idle org. Good on ya, mate!
hiatus57 says
Have to say Mike this is getting a little boring, we know these idiots are nothing to do with Dianetics and Scientology.
They seem to be people who are into some weird game involving their own perecived status in some squirrel group.
I feel very sorry for them and the whales, I think Greenpeace should be made aware that the IAS vultures are financially harpooning these pathetic sycophants.
remoteviewed says
I mean how far off purpose do ya got to be before the brain dead morons over there notice it?
Nancy never impressed me as too bright though not as egotistical and elitist as some of the names listed there.
Really there has been a shift in Scientology from what were once considered the stars of Scientology like Auditors and the Staff to the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
I remember back near the beginning of the end of the Church that preferred seating at the “Auditors Day” event wasn’t given to any of us low life auditors but to the IAS Patrons.
Now they believe like the Blues Bros that they are some mission from God to build these opulent ostentatious Ideal Orgs where they can bring their friends with out having to worry about having to touch the unwashed masses.
I say let ’em have their “Ideal” empty “Cathedrals”.
They deserve ’em as far as I’m concerned.

What’s the difference between an Ideal Morgue and a normal morgue?
A normal morgue has more public, less “black PR”, and a helluva lot more clears……. HA!
Gus Cox says
Yeah, I know (knew) a good number of people on that list, and plenty of them could have afforded a helluva lot more than $10 or $100 not too long ago. They are tapped out, and that’s all they have left.
Gus Cox says
That’s right. It’s 2:01pm on Thursday now, so what are ya gonna give us this week?
Robert Almblad says
Grass roots donations are slim to none…
Members that have “Not donated money” are not mentioned. This is by FAR the largest list of names.
pedrofcuk says
I have this to say, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
Steph says
That’s awesome, thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOLAGirl says
Pat & Nancy Parodi are on the list once for $500 and again for $50.
I’m guessing the $500 was the donation and the $50 “fell out” of her purse while she was in the bathroom.
shelgold says
As a note of interest
An exec from 7-11 told me recently y they always say hello when u enter
1. The obvious
2. They want u to know that they know u are in the store
Like naming all the $10 donators. Noted u gave only $10
shelgold says
I hope the sheeple caught that “first weekly”
Wow all that fun and get to do it again next week
Whoever wrote this should be arrested for exclamation abuse
ideal says
they’re relieved because they think the slappy is off their backs but they’ll be raising even more money for something else when the building is done, the fundraising stat has to go up, and if they don’t they’ll be treated like a bunch of worthless downstats in a fancy building
Patty Moher says
When I saw that some guy gave 17 dollars I Lol’d and thought the regs just cleaned out his pockets.
Overrun in California says
Nancy Cartwright seems like a pretty nice person; good motives. But I think she lives in a bit of a bubble. She has a sign on her refrigerator that says “GIVE MORE”, and she tries to set an example of someone who gives, gives, gives. And of course, she does. But there’s a difference between her “gifts”, when you still have 60 million dollars in the bank, and the average Scntlgst, who is scraping the bottom to just pay for courses. If she really want to pursue this path, and show how great it is to give till it hurts, then I think she should give $59,500,00.00. Hell, still leave her with 1/2 a mil. More than most.
Give more Nancy!
Valerie says
Since this appears to be a weekly fundraiser, maybe by the 10th or 11th week, even Nancy will start feeling the strain. The only have so many people to hit up. I think they blew their whole wad on the first week, now the desperation begging begins.
waee2happi says
Wait…no….wait…..I think I have, YES I found some loose change in the bottom of my purse! I wanna donate alllll my pennies. There’s 20 of them :). I’m so proud of myself and its all gonna go to the Ideal Org.
I look at that list and I think I’m gonna be sick. Just a big EEEEwwwwww! That’s all I gotta say on it. Just grumble grumble…..stupid people.
Cognited and Out says
A couple of things I notice –
There are a lot of duplicate names on this list – makes me think that people who donated once were hit up to donate again in that week. And Daffy David’s Dino then made up,the difference to 1 million.
Rensissance Academy donated??? That’s a school! Did they donate from tuitions????? Or force the slave wage teachers – oops, supervisors – to cough up, why the f*** is a school donating???
Another thing on duplicate names – naming someone twice instead of compiling their amounts make the list look longer – more pressure on the scumbags who didn’t donor to cough up.
Cognited and Out says
Ha! Daffy David’s dono – but I like Dino too!
minorron says
I’ve counted up to 43 dups on the list…. wonder who gets the commission for all these dono’s.
Juggernaut says
See the Sunday Funnies at Tony Ortega’s today for what seems to be one of the lead-ups to this email. I’m surprised they had any punctuation marks left to make this final email.

Question is, will those who only donated $10 or so realise how little they donated compared to the rest and donate more next time or, will those who donated $100 or so realise how little they could have gotten away with donating and donate less next time?
Draco says
“NEW GAME COMING OUT SHORTLY!.” Ah – there’s the rub… $1,000,000 handed over in one week … and that’s not all folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
DollarMorgue says
Beggars belief. NC matched the field’s donations. Expensive, being Mayor of the Valley. Seriously, what’s in it for her? She must be accustomed to better than this cheap fawning.
When did Scientology complete the transition from creating liberated spiritual beings to shackling them to “ideal” MEST of little consequence? It’s like snapping a person’s neck by turning it 180 degrees so fast they keep on walking, arms outstretched, unheeding and unaware of their altered circumstance.
One of the biggest outpoints for me in this whole shebang? Not so much that those who claim to be aware clearly demonstrate otherwise, as the skill with which they tell themselves stories.
Johnny Tank (Forever Autumn) says
I actually salute all those who only gave 10 bucks, because they said “F**k you!” to COB. If you’re gonna give to scientology, give as little as possible – you can still say you gave 🙂
joan says
I think Nancy figures if she just keeps giving eventually she will become something of awe and wonder. Truth is Nancy, you are just a human being like the rest of us except most of us would help the poor and needy before we put a drop of money into Davey’s high-end lifestyle. What an utter fool.
McCarran says
That was the trick I learned on the Ship. Just give $10 so you can leave the mandatory “briefing” (two/week) and go to bed. Sometimes that worked but sometimes as an OT VIII, I had to stay to set a good example (guards at the entrance/exit).
(The above statement is an example of what the church now now uses as talking points. Goes like this: “ALL and I mean ALL of us who went to the “other side” compromised their integrity and committed overts. Above that would include giving money I didn’t want to give, staying when I didn’t want to stay or even going to that mandatory briefing when I didn’t want to go. Then to assign other ownership to that overt or not take responsibility for it I read stuff on the Internet or listened to an SP, etc. This explains my son’s (disconnected from me) logic of not even “wanting” to read anything on the Internet etc. Because it demonstrates how he doesn’t have any overs and doesn’t have any need to read anything.
Convoluted and ill logical I know, but that is the the “tech” of it now. A total Catch-22. My son tried to explain this to me when on his IV Internship, he saw others being sec checked for reading “stuff.”)
Sorry, off topic, but this is what I had to deal with, with those still in and the need to have the c of s be their answer.
Steph says
McCarran, that is Catch-22 on steroids !
Valerie says
The saddest part of the whole email is the end. No VWD. Just “you can sill be part of this” “new game coming shortly”.
No one gets to enjoy the win, just flog them for more out tech fundraising.
Hip. Hip. Pbbbllttt
Scott Campbell says
I don’t know about anyone else here, but to my eyes ‘ol nancy needs to “donate” some of that Mass that she has – instead of her Energy, Space and Time.
McCarran says
🙂
zana says
She looks very old and tired. Like she has been carrying a big weight for a long time. You look at her eyes… and it’s all there.
Tony Dephillips says
Jim Meskimin only did $50. What a dilittante .
Morris Adams says
It makes me sick to see the names of people I know on this list. It would be more pro-survival for them to flush this money down the toilet than to “donate” it like this. Literally.
racingintheblood39r says
Mike, Do these ‘incredibly’ privileged, honored, kool-aided dupes have ANY idea of what their inspiring Leadah REALLY thinks of their ‘sacrifices’ ? — Not a fat chance while under the spell! To ‘think’, that this is actually going on, merely for the promise of an empty palace, which will factually be owned, and used, by none other than Dear Leadah, to ‘prove’ to the hypnotized flock, that their loot is an investment in THEIR eternity? LOL!
The Spell continues to be continued….(to be continued, to be… ’till flat-lined ) 🙁
jgg2012 says
Why doesn’t Davey just lop a million a year or so off his salary?
Valerie says
Because he expects this out of the whales on a WEEKLY basis, not annual.
SILVIA says
One name called my attention, is Matteo Galbiati, who gave a 100.00. He used to be a Class VI at FSO for several years and the plan was to train him as a Class XII. No real data if he is now out being another sheeple or he just happened to be there ‘recovering’ pcs’ and out of his heart gave a 100.00, which will be a lot for an SO Member.
The other comment is: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SadStateofAffairs says
Matteo made it up to Solo NOTS C/S (if “up to” is the right term), was RPFed back around 2000, went out 2D in the RPF, not sure what happened to him after that, but he is not in the SO anymore.
Cindy says
Mateo is not in the SO and is or was working at Management Success. He was arrogant and self important there when I knew him. Interesting that he went out 2D.
Nancy says
isn’t this enough proof to the IRS that they are not a religious organization?
Fredric L. Rice says
The U.S. IRS lacks the political power to remove these crooks’ tax exemption status as a fake “charity” however that appears to be changing, more and more politicians are *finally* asking the IRS and U.S. Treasury to “look in to” these crooks. But you bring up another point: We need to get the full disclosure to the ROI that was conducted in the aftermath of the illegal tax exemption. I’ll post a comment to that on WWP.
edge says
I think Mike posted a note about this over at The Underground Bunker a while ago, but the IRS definitely knows how much money the CoS and its US-based organizations take in. The orgs exist to “prove” that the church is actually using the money for church purposes. Think of it as a kind of tax shelter. The IRS defines what is and isn’t an official religion in the USA, but once you get into the valid but subjective arguments of “Scientology isn’t big enough to need a building of that size, let alone many of them” that’s when things get tricky. How nice does a church need to be? So the IRS stays clear of that. But you are correct that more people in authority are starting to wise up to this scam.
It’s interesting to note the large number of small donations. Many are $10. Did those people get charged $10 to get in the door too?
LDW says
Fact: The actual number of people involved in using scientology processes for their spiritual advancement has declined in direct ratio to the amount of focus put on perfectly beautiful buildings.
From 20ACC-16 of 23 July 1958
“Now, where aesthetics have turned against the preclear or he has become dependent on something else for his aesthetic quality and then it betrayed him, you have the neatest Rock you’ll ever have. Now, that’s a wonderful Rock. That’s thud!
This individual walked into the door of the most beautiful building he had ever seen, and they grabbed him and put him in the clink and held the body in duress and transported the soul elsewhere, you know. Fabulous situation. But he was attracted there by an aesthetic.
Well, this is the entrapment by aesthetics. And you’ll find aesthetics are a usual trap. That’s why you find, by the way, Dianetics and Scientology are not all trapped up with a whole bunch of horse-aesthetics. Get the idea? You’ll find a few of them around because they’re un-avoidable. But it’s not that anybody’s against aesthetics, but we don’t want starry-eyed people wandering in the front door dramatizing for the hundred-thousandth time the lock where they see a beautiful building and walk in. Or the lock of where they hear beautiful music and walk in, where they hear a beautiful organ playing and a choir singing and they walk in the front door. See? Because all you do is collect a lot of nuts.”
Hubbard seems to have been quite accurate in a number of observations. This is certainly one of them.
McCarran says
Great find, Les. (The LRH quote.)
Wendy M says
Yes – really great find, Les!
Hallie Jane says
And they’ve provided a list of nuts for us.
McCarran says
So glad I’m done with this shit.
Steph says
Yes, Mare. Me, too! I’m gagging with you.
Thx Mike, for all you do to shine the light on these absolute total loons.

Sooner or later, Dave is going to have the cognition that the Valley Org building is just an architectural “lean-to” an an actual church building on the corner. Quinn is going to be told to get the dupes busting their balls carrying out Command Intention to purchase the Real church building next door.
