A couple of recent OTC emails from the PAC area.
PAC OTC is focused on fundraising (big surprise) for the “PAC Auditorium” and “Ideal PAC Base” (whatever that is — “Ideal” has morphed into a new term in the bubble not even trying to pretend it has anything to do with the policy letter on “The Ideal Org” any longer).
But this email also includes some stats that are pretty revealing. This is the PAC OTC — the biggest concentration of Scientologists on earth (they claim in their stats to have 126 active members). And remember, “PAC” consists of “all” the Missions including the winners of the last two international mission birthday games, 5 Ideal Orgs (LA D, LA F, Pasadena, OC, Inglewood) 2 other Class V orgs (Valley, Santa Barbara) and 3 SO delivery Orgs.
1. 6 Div 6 Services taken by a New Person on the New Introductory Routes. SIX? Seriously. And this could be three people each taking two “intro services.”
2. 3 Clears or NED Case Completions onto their next step to OT — wow, GAT II is really unsticking those bridge flows!
3. 36 public started on their Golden Age of Tech Phase II training and processing steps at a Mission, Org or SO Org this week. Again, seriously?
4. $10,650 raised for Org Buildings or Renovations in US $ — not going to buy many ten million dollar ideal orgs with $10,000 a week. That would mean 1,000 weeks just to do ONE. That is 20 YEARS. Proof that the Ideal Org fundraising boondoggle has reached its end.
5. They actually keep a stat of people arrived onto Staff or the SO. The OT Committee?
6. The only stat they seem to really work on is 5 IAS Statuses and $217,559 raised for the IAS (wonder how much was for the hurricane relief efforts in the Philippines).
Not a good picture and certainly nothing that indicates any “straight up and vertical expansion.”

What has ALWAYS fascinated me is that someone like Nick L. who does done all the way up to OT 8 and, has thus seen for himself that the upper Bridge is B.S., still shills for the cult. “Everybody Knows” by Leonard Cohen
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That’s how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died
Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you’ve been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows you’ve been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That’s how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That’s how it goes
Everybody knows
And everybody knows that it’s now or never
Everybody knows that it’s me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you’ve done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe’s still pickin’ cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows
And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it’s moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there’s gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows
And everybody knows that you’re in trouble
Everybody knows what you’ve been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows it’s coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That’s how it goes
Everybody knows

When I was in college in the late 90s, my friends knew some scientologists at the San Diego org and they were being actively recruited and I was always invited but I was too busy with my studies and going to parties. I’m so relieved that my debauchery took precedence over this crap, especially after reading this sales pitch email.
Happy New Year to all!

Dan Locke says
My understanding of the email to the PAC OT Committee was that it was a report of production attributable to PAC OTC members, rather than a report on the production of those orgs, do I have that right? In other words, this report of the number of books sold and basic courses started is a report of the PAC OTC members’ production in regards to these orgs and it is not a report of the production for the PAC orgs and missions.
I am pretty sure I got that right. If I am understanding it correctly, I am not surprised much at these stats. I think if you were to take a look at them long range, they are emergency trending for years.
I worked a lot with the PAC OTC when I was a staff member. I know a lot of the people mentioned in that email. They are all great guys. But the fact of the matter is that these people generally speaking do not talk with anyone new about Scientology. They just talk with each other. We used to call it “taking in their own laundry”. Why is this so? Because getting a new person into Scientology has never been easy and it’s gotten much, much, MUCH more difficult as the years have gone by. I think that if the corporate church were to keep an International statistic of “minutes spent in conversation with new people, attempting to interest them in Scientology”, it MIGHT get as high as 15 minutes, on a VERY good week, for the whole planet.
So, all these guys do is call each other up and encourage each other to put a few hours in a course room that week. And they tally up their cumulative money contributions to the IAS. (That’s always going to look good as a lot of these guys are making nice money and it’s just easier to pay than complain. Kind of like the “protection money” we watch in the gangster movies: you pay and don’t bitch and we’ll let you keep your business. Start asking too many questions and we’ll “take you for a little ride…”)
That’s their stats. Very rarely a few of them might gather together to do pinch tests at some mall and sell a few books. But that’s VERY unpleasant these days. Unless you are doing this in some place like the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, you are going to get scoffed and ridiculed, often times by people who were once in the fold.
Jane Doe says
So true Dan. Nowadays it is almost impossible to disseminate Scn because the PR on Scn is horrible thanks to DM. Never worse PR in the history of the church than now. So those with money just keep giving it so as to keep their elig in good standing rather than complain. And they throw money out there rather than have to confront a raw public and handle the originations of “I heard this” and “I read this on the internet” etc. They can’t handle that because deep down a part of them knows that it is true and they have to Stop that Thought. I loved the articles by Jeff Hawkins on Thought Stopping. A must read.

Book ’em Danno!
You got that right.
The OTC is nothing but an endless circle jerk.
Nothing like what is stated in the policies on OTCs.
But then….
Those policies apply to actual OTs not the status hungry morons of the so called “‘OT’ Committees”. Where OT is just another status like being a Patron or owning a Lexus.
Basically its become nothing but an exclusive Country Club that is always promoting golf tournaments.
You know for those dying to hit the links with the Jettsons or the Flashbacks or whoever has celebrity status in the Incredible Shrinking Church of Scientology.
True there a few ex-GO there who are trying to give the impression that they’re still active by subjecting themselves to a few stale cookies and some really bad coffee while listening to the OT Committee Chairman drone on and on and on about the next raffle or IAS event or giving their inside skinny about their personal meeting with der furry Fuhrer.
Pathetic does not even begin to describe the average OTC meeting.
Cece says
Benevolent Benevolence, I am grateful to witness.
Thank you Karen
SadStateofAffairs says
If I understand the PAC OTC stats email correctly, this is reporting stats accomplished by OTC members, not all the stats of all the orgs, missions, etc. That still doesn’t make it anything more than pathetic as this is the combined production of 126 “OTs”, but I think some people may be interpreting this to be the combined total production of all PAC area entities, which I don’t think is the case.
Mike Rinder says
You are correct, this is OTC stats. Of course, they count everything they can get their hands on whether they caused it or not, but it is NOT the combined stats of all the PAC orgs.
Aeolus says
If these were the results of 126 people really trying to push Scientology, that would indeed be pathetic. What it indicates to me is about 2 dozen, most of whom are named in the email, trying to keep an unraveling show on the road, and the other 100 people trying to keep the Miscavige Madness at arms length without losing their “good standing”. Well, I guess that’s pathetic too in a different way.
ka says
‘– “Ideal” has morphed into a new term in the bubble …’
I think that hype-words and the hype-sentences are “positive” thought-stopping to keep the members from looking outside of the bubble for information and to deal with their cognitive dissonance. They are also used to show how “upstat COB is”. He HAS to give always the appearance of being “upstat” to prevent members from having a closer look at him, his doings and his failures and to crush the questioning of members and who have disagreements with what is happening.
They practice this “positive” thought-stopping in their hyped promo and hyped “success stories” (including the downright ridicules statuses), which for someone outside of the bubble sounds so exaggerated and ludicrous. It could go under the rubric of “The Art of Thought-Stopping”.
Even in the press releases from the CoS (trying to counter the stories form ex-members and critics) their respective “spokesperson” trumpets only various mantras of “unprecedented expansion”.
No sane thinking person with enough information about the cult could take such seriously; they rather sound like satire.
See also these excellent articles from Jefferson Hawkins about it:
http://leavingscientology.wordpress.com/2010/07/23/thought-stopping/
http://leavingscientology.wordpress.com/2010/07/27/thought-stopping-on-steroids/
Hype – words and sentences:

best, greatest … EVER
straight up and vertical
unprecedented expansion, …

!!!!!!!!!
monumental
more than 11,000 churches, missions and groups …
many millions of Scientologists…
its greatest period of expansion…
And TC’s gave one of the most ludicrous examples of hype: “I have never met a more competent, a more intelligent, a more tolerant, a more compassionate being, outside of what I have experienced from LRH. And I’ve met the leaders of leaders. I’ve met them all. …”

These OTC’s are so squirrel in themselves. They’ve got a mish-mash of org and arbitrary stats that they’re “working on”. What the hell are the org staff doing, that they have to force the public to do staff work, or dumb work just to feed the monster? I’m having trouble finding words to describe my disgust at the weird, convoluted, complexity that’s being hawked as Scn. It’s unrecognizable. Stupidity keeps coming to mind as a pervasive trait or actual doingness. The unknowness of consideration, the unknowness of time, place, form and event, is actually being practiced. It’s also just plain dumb. The reversal of the purpose of Scn which is to cause as-isness to occur, has crept into every crevice.
Odd Thomas says
+1 Sad but true Hallie Jane
SILVIA says
They are also involved with ‘Call In’ for service at LA Org?….I guess the staff is off post and busy selling, selling and selling.
And you are right, the quotas are supposed to be set a bit higher than the prior ‘products’ obtained; meaning, the production is really low as shown by the targets set.
Additionally, there is dispersion all over: OTC doing regging, call in, SO Members started and so on. No one is leading the show, oh sorry, actually the blind keeps leading the blind.
Espiritu says
I noticed that too! 9 books to raw public for one ORG is a very bad indicator. But for all of PAC?! Wow.
Once, years ago, I had a persistent F/N and was sent to the bookstore to help out selling books since I could not go into session. I sold a dozen in 4 hours without really “selling”.
So how can this stat be this low for ALL of PAC? It boggles the mind. Are booksellers now taught to scowl at raw public or something? Is there now a “reverse auditor’s code” that is to be applied to two way communication with interested public people?
But wait, it could be that there is almost no new public coming into the ideal morgues. That would explain it. Could it be that only a couple of dozen new people came in to ALL of the orgs in the PAC area this week?
Thanks for listening to me while I tried to do the math on this in my head.
Sejanus says
Am so tired of the nonsensical hyperbole from the Koolaidians.

The Oracle says
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you wonderful beings for holding the forts like you have been doing for so many years while I get on with my own job.” L.R.H.
Well, right there is the huge difference between Hubbard and Miscavige. For those of you A=Aing Miscavige with Hubbard. Miscavige has nothing nice to say about staff or Scientologists (besides Cruise).
Heh! Dear Ron, Miscavige has not been holding any fort I am sorry to say, since you’ve been gone. There is a HUGE ARCXen field! He has generated so much ill will, the Church of Scientology has lost it’s value altogether! Hate to pass on the truth but I know you can confront this inconvenient truth. He has alter ised your friends into enemies. One scandal after another! Out P.R., bad press and a long history of criminality! False imprisonment, domestic abuse, domestic terrorism, false reports, lies in P.R., financial irregularities, out 2D, fraud. embezzlement, and every suppressive act in the ethics book!
Here’s what is strange Ron, some Scientologists are throwing money at him to continue! Because he set up these begging crews and called them registrars! Except they are not registering anyone for service. They register people for STATUS Ron. Davis is selling status’! And some people are buying them!
He fu^%&d up your closest friends Ron. Your family too. Your best staff too. Your name too. No more good will around for you Ron. Don’t come back! It’s not safe! He has declared you an overt product maker at every event for over ten years!
The worst is yet to come Ron. He has declared a “Golden Age of tech” under himself for fixing all your f^&k ups! He is building the “better bridge” Ron. People get signed up to go back down the bridge now! Yeah, once they go up, he pushes them right back down to the bottom, into a “no status” with the tech, and an awarded status for the donations! The only that is “stable” or real now, is the ones people buy with donations!
He made the customers but him a ship before he would release OT8. And he made people pay for OT8,9 and 10, for OT8, even though there is no 9 and 10, then when they finished OT8, he put the ones that would listen to him back on OT7! Now, he has them on objectives. This is his “better bridge” Ron.
Needless to say, I have my own crimes Ron. Per the code of a Scientologist I am not to speak disparagingly of the Church or it’s executives. I had to drop my indentity as a Scientologist Ron, because I just couldn’t take the emotional blackmail David was dishing out knowing people couldn’t “break the code to with hold”.
But I gained a new Identity Ron. Well, as you know, it really is more “me”. Ha Ha!
Anyway, the “Scientologist” identity isn’t exactly moving off the store shelves. Not much good has been made of the identity since you left. Don’t think a trip to the dry cleaners is going to fix it up and make it wearable again. It’s just not a workable Identity in today’s world under a man like Miscavige. Don’t see any good replacement values either Ron. The Sea Org has turned into a sordid, mean , rather, viscous desperate refugee camp. Everyone under the Int Base is a beggar and the ones at the Int Base are slaves of sleep. Miscavige has seen to it they know nothing or lie about anything do know. He has put everyone into NOT KNOW status. And they seem alright with it. Kind of strange, but whatever. The culture around the books has become more interesting than anything else. Lots of press. David has become very famous. And very rich.
Not possible anymore for any of us to whisper to our sons, and their sons, “The work was free. Keep it so.” David Miscavige has taxed everyone into bankruptcy on every level. Everyone has been set up for a loss. Some people have stepped around it. Ha! Ha!
The good news is, that several people dedicated to KNOWING HOW TO KNOW, have come through alright Ron. That’s what it really was all about anyway.
Do the stars still twinkle in the Milky Way, as the wind sighs for songs across the empty fields of a planet a Galaxy away? Give my regards.
You said, “You won’t always be here”.
Boy, you were right about that. Most people jumped ship. I don’t think anyone at the Int Base or anyone on lines has been able remain in your court. Especially with David chanting about your overt products at every event and how he has had to constantly clean up after you.
But I know you weren’t thinking of me when you wrote that.
I will always be here. I have evolved into the natural order of things. I don’t observe the natural order of things as I used to. I am the natural order of things.
Sitting here late at night and wondering, what will be next? Do book me on the next adventure.

POT,
There will never be an accurate Mission count in this age of furry management.
Here in LA County the only Mission that seems to be somewhat functional is Los Feliz Mission on Hilhurst where they have a Div VI presence i.e. people passing out flyers for Free Personality Testing.
Missions like Beverly Hills and West Wood which at one time were bigger than most Orgs are now just faded memories.
Glendale Mission which used to be on Brand in Glendale which was allegedly had more Scientologists per capita than any other city in the Southland moved to Burbank somewhere on Glenoaks where its hard to find among all the Gas Stations, Fast Food joints, Smoke Shops and Strip Malls.
True Glenoaks is a main drag but it doesn’t have any body traffic.
Its the surface street you take if the 5 is backed up or if you’re going to “beautiful downtown Burbank” which I’ve never been able to find….
But anyhoo…
The other Glendale AKA Montrose Mission is still on Honolulu Blvd hidden in the public parking lot there. Though the sun faded posters from sometime in the early ’90’s indicate the place is stuck in a time warp.
I think David Morse still pays the rent on the place as a Tax write off. Otherwise the place looks like that deserted town in the Andromeda Syndrome or some post apocalyptic scene from the Twilight Zone or Outer Limits.
At one time Flavia Taylor Ex-GOWW and personal friend of Jane and Mo was the ED but that was years ago.
In fact at one time there used to be a little cult of Flavia over there where they used to quote her “pearls of ‘wisdom'” in their little newsletter they sent to their “swine” i.e. public and former staff like me but I haven’t seen it since the last time I was dead filed for being “disaffected” which was back in the 90’s.
But that’s another story for another time.
To sum up this rather long and tedious comment POT:
Seems our bushy tailed friends at the top have managed to successfully neutralize the Mission scene here in LA county.
It probably started with their efforts to enforce a mini org board which was actually intended for Gung-Ho Groups and continued with their effort to “get ethics in” while totally ignoring the policy on “Franchise and Ethics”
More could be said about that but I’ll leave it for another comment.
Anyhoo…
As I said you’ll never get any accurate stats on Missions from SMI because they count any Mission chartered as a stat. Meaning some OT VII on eligibility for OT VIII who bought a Mission Starter Package for close to 40 grand or some poor illegal PC who was suckered into buying one or in one case several as part of their petition to IJC even if the “Mission” only exists on a piece of paper and the starter package is stowed in someone’s garage or was sold at bargain basement prices on eBay by someone trying desperately to recoup at least some of the money they spent on it.
Sure SMI asks for stats from these so called “missions” in their weekly reports but I’m sure most of them are pulled out of the ether or a figment of someone’s imagination.
I mean students on course could be a splif being passed around in somebody’s living room. Hours audited could be some squirrelly process run in some coffee shop or bar or even taking a walk.
Who knows and who cares as long as they have some stat they can report up lines.

Hi Mike,
I have never been in the COS, but I became interested in 2012 after reading the Debbie Cook email on my “Google News” feed. Seriously, I have been hooked since then. I suppose the cult factor absolutely fascinates me.
Anyhow, one thing that continues to baffle me, is that if the church is a cult operating as a “business,” then how can said business operate so poorly? I mean, I know there are a lot of factors- indoctrination, manipulation, oppression, etc- but if the end goal is running a successful business i.e. a making money scheme, then DM has to see that his returns are limited. Any basic business grad would know that. I just don’t understand how someone with that kind of power, with access to so many high brow, influential and smart people, can be as ignorant to drive his business into the ground without pause? Not only that, but how can so many smart, able business people be unable to sense a con or swindle? It’s not like the scent is delicate.
As I am writing this, I am having what I think you might call a “cognition,” based on my understanding from the comments of this blog. I think the answer to my own question is essentially hubris. It’s hard for any normal person to understand hubris in the most grandiose of the sense. I surely can talk about it, but I can’t emotionally “grasp” it. Have an uneducated, fundamentalist sociopath as a leader and I’m not surprised to hear of Scientology’s pitfalls. I mean, one could be uneducated, fundamentalist, a sociopath, or all three, but until they are a leader, they don’t have nearly the influence. I find it sad and I wish everyone on this blog the best of luck and happiness in 2014.
Thanks for educating the outsiders!
Philip Arlington says
LRH was a great con man who designed a great con. DM is not a great anything, but the con is so good that it has taken him the best part of thirty years to run it into the ground – and note that the IAS is still bringing in meaningful money according to this release.
Jane Doe says
Good comment Phil. And IAS is the only one posting any kind of stats to speak of. And I noticed Dave Kluge, an OT VIII (and per one poster, ex GO), is now the IAS terminal for the OTC. I guess he couldn’t make enough money in his other job so he quit that and is now selling for the IAS “where the real money is” as are a lot of former field auditors and FSM’s. Pat Mooney’s husband, can’t remember his name, but he got out of a big Scn multilevel to sell for the IAS and make more money that way. And instead of delivering the tech as an auditor or FSM, these people have joined Michael Roberts and others to crush sell people for the IAS which exchanges nothing with the world at large. I have no respect for the vultures working for the IAS, Mary Tauffer, Dave Kluge, and many others too numerous to mention.
one of those who see says
Hi Jane! Pat’s husband is Tony Falcaro. I didn’t know he got on board the IAS money train too. I always felt sad seeing Ted Bragin stalking people for the IAS. He used to be a professional Trombone player in NYC. I don’t know much about his career, but here is an old article I found from 1984. (you can see his name in the 3rd paragraph)
JAZZ: JOE BUSHKIN’S ALL-STARS
By Stephen Holden
Published: September 16, 1984
Joe Bushkin and His All-Stars have brought jazz, like a cool, dry breeze, into the King Cole Room at the St. Regis-Sheraton Hotel. The veteran swing pianist, who has worked with everyone from Billie Holiday to Tallulah Bankhead, is leading a 10-man band in an amiably exuberant salute to Louis Armstrong that runs through the middle of October.
Although Mr. Bushkin’s all-stars range in age from their 20’s (the guitarist Howard Alden) to their late 70’s (the trumpeter, and special guest star, Doc Cheatham), their brand of New Orleans-style blues, played in a loose improvisational format, is ageless.
Mr. Bushkin led off Thursday’s early show with a medley of ”The Man That Got Away” and ”The Man I Love,” performed in taut, spare arrangements that established a mood of unsentimental jubilation. That spirit was picked up and sustained by the rest of the band in freewheeling renditions of ”Struttin’ With Some Barbecue,” ”Royal Garden Blues” and ”Phone Call to the Past.” The ensemble used the dual trombones of Al Grey and Ted Bragin as a springboard for burbling conversations among the clarinetist Phil Bodner, the hornman Buddy Tate and the trumpeter Glenn Zottola.
As the symbolic stand-in for Louis Armstrong, Doc Cheatham played such Satchmo warhorses as ”A Kiss to Build a Dream On,” ”When It’s Sleepy Time Down South,” and the inevitable ”Hello, Dolly!” with a clipped, cheerful zest. The set’s only lapses came when Mr. Cheatham and Mr. Bushkin performed weak, husky vocal solos.
Jane Doe says
Thanks, OOTWS, Now I remember the name. And so sad to hear that the talented trombone player went the way of the IAS money grubbing too.

Baffled,
You are making an elementary mistake – you’re thinking about this logically 🙂
Rule #1 – nothing in the church of scientology makes any logical sense, so don’t even try.
DM has gotten so used to just getting his way regardless that he now thinks he can merely issue orders and it must happen. GIVE ME TEN MILLIONS DOLLARS BY THE END OF THE WEEK!!! No thought as to what it will take to get 10 mil, just an insane order chucked out into the ether than must magically be complied to, as well as all the other disconnected orders he issued before breakfast.
The man, and everyone else under his spell, has the mind of a 5 year old: I want, so gimme.
It doesn’t make any sense, right? That’s because there isn’t any sense there to be made. Don’t try analyze it, it’s the product of a crazy mind and you will go crazy trying to figure it out.

The Oracle says
Good point. When management begins to target and attack the customers, the business is indeed being run poorly. When the staff take home 25.00 a week and work 110 hour weeks and get treated as complete liabilities on top of that…. When the staff are people who have never read a book or graduated high school and they think they are the most informed people on the planet, you get a real situation. They are also asked to sign vows of poverty and beg furiously, instead of actually produce something of value, you get quite a “hustler” feel with in the company. None of it makes any sense whatsoever. But they think they are saving the world and are the only hope. They keep one another in the dark, rat one another out, turn their backs on another at the issue of a command, live day by day for a bed to sleep on at night that isn’t even theirs. Although registered as a “business” with corporate rudiments, it is actually a prison system.
Aquamarine says
Wow, another great comment, Oracle. That’s exactly the staff scene, and yet there’s not one of them, at lease of those I know, who will say anything incongruent with the concept of how wonderful it is to be part of this very high theta group with this very high theta purpose. Contrary fact, much?
Jane Doe says
Yes it is Oracle. It is a prison system where the inmates have bought the idea that they’re helping the world, and so gladly submit to the shackles. They have turned themselves into con artists unknowingly. Imagine the cognitive dissonance when they finally have that cognition.
Aquamarine says
Jane,
The effect of that cognition, when it finally occurs, for a few people I know who have dedicated their entire adult lives to what they fervently believe is the ONLY basic, worthwhile purpose in life for ANYONE, is something that occupies my mind a great deal lately.
Despite everything I have confronted and observed and cognited on as re the RCS, and despite all that I have read about others’ experiences with the RCS, I am still processing the fact that (to paraphrase Paul Haggis), “I was in a cult for 30 years and didn’t even know it”.
Via Ron’s tech correctly applied to me I learned that everything bad that happened to me early this lifetime (way before I got into Scientology) stemmed from my own inability or unwillingness to confront, with the emphasis strongly on the latter – unwillingness.
Yes, I was lied to, but if I had been paying attention I could have seen thru these lies.
Well, I wasn’t paying attention – quite deliberately, because I was operating on some totally uninspected fixed ideas as my stable datums, and these stable datums were very important to me and therefore had to be true, etc. Some bitter lessons and quite tragic permanent losses resulted.
With LRH tech I have been able to take.responsibility for my share in what occurred and this has afforded me a great deal of relief, finally. But I had to be willing to confront, to stop twisting and turning and refusing to look. Without this tech I would not have been able to do this and I would still be in a state of sad effect, continual low-level suffering, as I was back then. I can be happy now, and I am happy now, despite what my non-confront caused, back in the day. This is no small thing to me, no small lesson. To me, it is huge, Ok, but back to the point:
When I see people I’ve known for decades, people who are 10 times more trained than I am, 10 times more experienced in applying Scientology to others than I am, people who are OTV, VII, and Vlll, NOT looking, NOT observing, twisting and turning to avoid any cognitive dissonance with their uninspected stable datums, I experience a kind of low-level horror and pity, because this is what I did, what I used to do, before I learned that it is ALWAYS BETTER TO KNOW, even if what you find out is – awful.
Its still better to know, so long as its the truth, because without the truth NOTHING will ever as is, and that’s the good news.
And, in order to know, as LRH says, you have to be willing to not-know.
Today, there is nothing I am unwilling to know or not-know in order to get the truth so as to operate in life effectively. But no pats on the back for me, because learned this after the fact, the hard way. What happened because of my own non-confront was what got me into Scientology.
I want these people I’ve known for decades to apply what they know to be willing to confront and LOOK and evaluate data and COGNITE – NOW. That’s my New Year’s Postulate.
I .

That is really revealing.
The gal that used to sell books in our Div6 could sell 9 of them in her sleep.

Had to laugh at your comment – BSOs I knew would do that in a couple of hours as well. Even I sold more in one afternoon when I was helping out as a new Scientologist.
Jane Doe says
Without any training on how to sell books, I sold 4 in a 2 hr period at an event in the park. And out of 12 or so Msns, Orgs, SO Orgs etc, they sell 9 for the week? That is less than one per org.
one of those who see says
Yep back in the day, we could sell 9 in 2 hours! Of course that was with the help of campaigns of Jeff Hawkins and Steve Hall!
Peter says
In the late 60s at the NY Org, after the Fnd PE lecture it was not at all unusual to sell 50 books…or more. And they did that night after night. Six books? We’d have put ourselves in a lower condition for that! LOL

When I used to be big on book selling to new people, we would push the Dianetics kit, for 50. It had multiple items in it and counted as 9 books sold.
