This building was purchased and renovated concurrent with the Inglewood “ideal” org.
It was announced as a facility that would host local groups and a place where the org could introduce the community to scientology. And offer a venue for the front groups of scientology to operate.
Since the efforts to bring the NOI on board began, it has been an interesting spectator sport to try to figure out whether scientology could absorb the NOI and thereby increase its membership, or whether this might end in a colossal backfire. It has never seemed realistic for Miscavige to believe he could recruit a significant number of NOI members and convert them to scientologists, though there have been things that have made it seem like his plan was having some success — most notably the prominent NOI figure Tony Muhammad advancing up the bridge to OT levels and him being awarded the IAS Freedom Medal. He has appeared to be the great example of converting NOI members into scientologists.
But a recent event, held right in the “L. Ron Hubbard Community Center” provides a different perspective. It appears the NOI have decided to take everything scientology will give them, and use it to forward their objectives, completely independent of anything scientological. We have seen this earlier when the NOI “took over” the Applied Scholastics headquarters in St. Louis and made it into a “singles retreat.” That seemed to be a one-off, but this latest from Inglewood is much bolder.
Tony Muhammad posted about a recent event on Facebook, He identifies the building as “our” Mosque 27.
So, the L. Ron Hubbard Community Center is now NOI Mosque 27 and they held an event there with 500 people — 250 new people and 100 of them “joined” the NOI. Scientology couldn’t get 100 people to an event, let alone 100 new people, let alone signing up 100 new scientologists in one day. The plan to recruit people from the community into scientology is a complete bust, but the NOI have taken the building are going like gangbusters recruiting new people to the NOI!
There are a lot of other photos of this event. So there can be no doubt as to where these shots are taken, you can see the Dianetics and Scientology symbols visible on each side of the stage:
They covered up the symbology on the podium with their own “In the name of Allah.”
They don’t need to photoshop or use clever camera lenses or angles — the place was packed:
They even presented “certs” with smiling faces — just like a scientology event!
The NOI have figured out how to use scientology to achieve their objectives and it is a one way transaction. In the beginning, scientology saw the NOI as a pool of potential new members. But rather than consume them, the NOI have been feeding off scientology to achieve their own ends.
It’s now become clear who has used and who has been used. Another grand Miscavige plan turned into a train wreck.

I’m planning on being the emcee of Farrakhan speaking at elron hall in CW in some future freakshow of choiches.

The NOI is using the Hubbard Community Center as “The Western Regional headquarters of the Nation of Islam” which “is dedicated to spiritual advancement under the guidance of Allah (God), and the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, through his representative the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.” Their web site does not mention it being a Scientology building but videos do show Ron’s books on display as people walk in.
Perhaps the bust of Hubbard is not on display because it is the community center and not the org.

I’m having trouble finding where they put Ron’s bronze bust, whose presence on the side of the stage is mandatory in all Ideal Org chapels and event halls. I can’t seem to localize it in any of the photos of the Islam group meeting event.

I knew it I knew it I knew it. OMG. Several years ago I had the thought: “The only way Scientology can expand and get new members is to NOT mention at all at any time the word ‘Scientology'”. And now here they are recruiting new Scientologists via the NOI. The cult tried the same stratagem using WISE. I’m guessing that hasn’t worked too well. Now they’re helping (funding) the NOI to get recruits who will then the cult hopes be transformed into Scientologists. Its not a bad idea; it could have some workability. But let me point something out: NOIs do not, for the most part, have much MONEY. They are NOT going to be OK with being hit up for huge regular donations to this or that, or for ANY regular donations for that matter. So I’d say that this latest cult ploy to get raw meat for their Div 6 has workability but limited workability. Having said that, its possible that Miscavige figures that he actually has enough money and what it needs now are BODIES. Then again, can Miscavige EVER really have enough money? I don’t have the answer to this.

Your question was “Can Miscavige ever have enough money?”
You should already know the answer: no.

Yes, agreed, my question was 90% rhetorical.
Funny to non-fatty. says
That is very funny. I first read of the Scn. NoI recruitment efforts here about a month ago, thought ‘WHAT’?
Told my one friend who knows of both, also found it funny.
So, now it’s a peaceful takeover? Kind of squatting on a grand scale? What does Miscarriage do if they just decide to grab ‘mosque 27’ for themselves?
Just a kind of lease?

Didn’t Dear Leader know that this is what Islam does? They go forth and conquer ‘in the name of Allah most merciful’.
This is what happened to Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The Muslims took it from the Christians and turned it into a mosque.
Gregor Gregor says
The Nation of Islam is not an Islamic group. They do not hold Islamic beliefs. The name is purely a name, and their Allah a man.

I wonder if Defendant Miscavige will kick the NOI out of Scientology facilities and stop giving them free auditing and other stuff at some point, or if even he knows how big a flap that would cause.

Davey got a big splashy-hypee headline or two he could trot out to the clams.
The clams cheered Davey’s magnificence and praised his leadership.
Time passed.
No promises were kept and no results were met.
No one dared ask about accountability.
Moving on. . .

It probably should be noted that API Rise “seeks to empower the Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander American communities and specifically those individuals who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.” Given the history of the NOI and its work inside prisons it is hardly surprising that there is an alliance with the two groups but it has nothing to do with Scientology.

Captain Miscavige is probably figuring on all that melanin giving a PR boost to his despised cult.

DM’s NOI gambit always seemed like a fool’s errand that had no way of producing anything worthwhile. (Though I suspect there was some perceived PR value.) It sure looks like DM got played by an organization that’s been around since 1930, and with twice the membership of the COS.

I suspect NOI got in bed with Scientology after they lost one of the main overseas backers in Gaddafi. Farrakhan has a dedicated following, but needed money. Scientology has a pile of assets but fewer and fewer followers. Without recruitment and succession in place, Scientology is approaching some end game and won’t need outside interference to implode.

Truly a full house with so many new people at ‘their’ Mosque 27.
All people who certainly won’t be directed (and who certainly aren’t interested in the first place) to scny.
The ‘king’ is in check again and can only move one step at a time.
