Eliseo Santana just sent me this mailer as a resident of Pinellas County.
Last month, he became the democratic candidate to challenge the incumbent Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.
I would not normally comment on this, except earlier this year, Eliseo Santana also ran for Clearwater City Council against Mark Bunker.
Santana was a scientology shill in that election. (You can watch some of the videos of Santana in action at that link). Scientology is afraid of running any scientologist candidates — they know they will lose — so they try to curry favor with candidates by promising them their “support” in the form of a voting block, celebrity meet ups and donors.
Only a few are foolish enough to buy what scientology sells. In reality, they have few actual voters (many of the staff in Clearwater are immigrants brought from Eastern Europe or Southern and Central America with the promise of food, shelter and a visa to the US) and in the case of Santana could not even muster a couple of thousand votes to beat Mark Bunker. It was the ultimate proof that the large numbers scientology promises to turn out for local elections are as reliable as the number of members they claim, or how the millions they “help” every week. But they did provide him with “Dead Agent” material, which he foolishly used.
The guy was unapologetic about his role as a scientology shill — unfortunately that speaks volumes about his astonishing lack of judgment.
So, having lost the City Council election, he moved on to the next one. He beat one democratic challenger in the primary to become the sole candidate running against the incumbent Sheriff. He is unlikely to get much traction in this race except for those who will “vote blue” up and down the ticket as a “statement” and make no effort to determine what any candidate represents other than their party affiliation. In that regard, he is still unlikely to win, but his chances are increased in this typically 50/50 Republican/Democratic county in this highly polarized election.
If you are a voter in Pinellas County, even a registered Democrat, I ask you not to vote for Eliseo Santana. Once a scientology shill, always a scientology shill.
I can think of nothing worse than a soft-on-scientology sheriff in the county where the scientology “spiritual headquarters” is located.
It was bad enough that Pam Bondi was the FL Atty General and publicly supported scientology. This guy has proven himself even more foolish by actively using scientology talking points and D/A packs to attack his opponent. And I also note, though he worked for the Sheriff’s office, he has no LAW ENFORCEMENT experience. Electing him as Sheriff makes about as much sense as appointing the janitor Head of Surgery because he cleans the halls outside the operating theater.
Debbie says
I am a registered Democrat and I voted blue for every single office except Sheriff. I left that blank because I cannot support Gualtieri or Santana. I was going to vote for Gualtieri until armed guards showed up at the Saint Pete polling location and Gualtieri did absolutely nothing about it
Skip Young says
The unfortunate possibility if this candidate IS elected, he may go soft on OTHER criminals in order to cover for his lack of prosecution of any possible Scientologist arrestees. Many Democrats in other jurisdictions across the country have supported such weak policies as Sanctuary Cities and failure to press charges on so-called “peaceful protestors.”
unelectedfloofgoofer says
So the cult is trying to make an enemy of Pinellas County sheriff Bob Gualtieri, despite his long-suffering tolerance of Miscavige’s brutal shenanigans. No doubt they expect to get away with again. The cult is cynically using anger against the police to get their candidate on the inside.
David Bates says
Somebody who lives in the county should take a look at his public financial records. First, did he return any money he received for the city council race or did he just move that money over to his new campaign. That’s is illegal. If I also wonder who is printing up his campaign posters and flyers. Is scientology doing it on the side. That would also be illegal if not shown on his financial records. It would be interesting to see where the money and staff are coming from. Unfortunately that is not my county or state plus being out of the country now makes even voting hard. We have been in quarentine lockdown in the Philippines since March 15 th with no end in sight. Hopefully someone local checks into his financials.
Jere Lull says
We can devolve into Dems vs. Republicans if and only if one or the other specifically identifies with scientology, IMO. It IS your blog, of course, Mike.

This guy makes me sick. I’ve seen his type many times and I’m sure all of you have too. That guy that perpetually runs for ‘office’ of some type so he can get a taste of that power. How do I know this guy is doing that instead of running for every available ‘office’ for altruistic reasons…why because he gladly accepted D/A packs and did ZERO research into said packs before launching into his tirade against Mark Bunker. Of course it only made him look more like the fool which he oddly enough didn’t seem to notice. What scares me about this is that this election is going to be voted on down party lines. Like Mike said there are plenty of people that will vote a straight ticket and never care who or what the candidate stands for. God forbid the sheriff’s department being at the behest of Miscavige. I’m amazed he doesn’t have plants in law enforcement anyway. Of course as we all know Scientology is a sinking ship and very few members are representative of the ‘working people’. Most of the hangers on are the wealthy business owners, chiros, Dr’s, and 2nd/3rd gen kids. I’m talking about US citizens here that can vote not the poor SO slaves that have been shipped in from other countries.
Of course, as Mike referenced above, the last election proves there are not enough Scilons to sway ANY election. Unfortunately, some shills still believe the Miscavige hype that there are millions of Scientologists out there that he can sway to vote their way. The Mark Bunker election also shows what lengths Scientology will go to try and get it’s parishioners to vote a certain way. There were people calling public and umpteen emails and texts sent about the ‘importance’ of the City Council election…and hilariously enough after telling people exactly WHO to vote for and WHO NOT to vote for they would end the conversation with something to the effect of ‘I’m not telling you who to vote for that would be against the law. Your vote is up to you.’ Yeah right. But one good thing is that OSA can’t go in the voting booth with you. Of course it didn’t matter Scientology couldn’t raise enough votes to make a difference. I think there were probably some UTR’s that definitely voted for Mark…can’t prove it but I bet there were. I hope I don’t cause every Pinellas Co. Scientologist to be put on the cans to find out who voted what…of course that may have already happened.
Tip to OSA…the e-meter is not infallible…anyone who has been a Scientologist for years can game the meter especially when you know how it works.

Linear13, ALL of scn’s history in CW has proven that scn can’t affect any election except negatively — for scn, as was shown in Mark Bunker’s WIN, despite scn’s attempts. Back in the late 70s, we (I was one of them, then) tried to get a candidate elected. The locals noticed the busses and vans driving us to the polling sites, which created a 3-day wonder in the local media, but “our” candidate lost.

Going all shrill and unbalanced doesn’t work against the Wise Beard Man. It just shows what a class act Mark is.

Well that’s unfortunate, that there wasn’t a decent Democratic candidate good enough to win the primary. It reminds me a little of Alex Villanueva, the new sheriff in Los Angeles County who turned out to be a massive disappointment.

I agree 100% He can be bought. That says it all right there. He didn’t investigate enough to understand their dead agent packs because it served HIM not to. No concern for voters only for HIS gaining of power through an election. He won’t serve the people he will expect the people to serve him.

Scientology. The religion of hate, lies, and personal attacks.
Once again a deluded know-nothing reveals his lack of integrity by wallowing in the pigsty of Scientology.
If elected, he will give his supporters exactly what they deserve – a fool in high county office.
Skyler says
Mike? Are there any specific actions I can take to help with this upcoming election? Or maybe you would you prefer to answer this on your upcoming podcast?
P.S. Ammo Alamo said, “Scientology. The religion of hate, lies, and personal attacks.” What a lovely sentence! I’m thinking about adopting that as a kind of “motto” and using it to either begin or end emails, posts and letters.
It’s almost perfect and almost says it all. All that I could add might be something about how they also suck all your money out of your bank accounts (like a Hoover vacuum), and how they abuse your credit cards and then bleed you dry?
Jere Lull says
ammo Alamo observed:
“Scientology. The religion of hate, lies, and personal attacks.”
Sadly, that’s too true. The only things they do well involve making enemies and breaking laws. It wasn’t so obviously like that when I first got involved, as there were fewer supposed enemies.
By their actions they are known.
* As long as courageous journalists keep digging up and publicizing the TRUTH.
Skyler says
Hey there Jere,
I’ve been wondering about this one thing. I would guess that when it comes to “courageous journalists”, you may well have one (or two) in mind. Is that true?
I can’t be certain about you. But, when it comes to moi, my first choice would be one-half of the team of Mike and Leah. How’s about you?
It was a very hard call for me to make. Because when it comes to Leah, when you try to measure her courage, the needle just flies right off the meter. That lady just has way too much courage for any needle to be measured.
I actually purchased an E-meter from some Ex-Scion on some Ex-Scion board and when the needle flew off the meter, it had a message on the back which read, “If you have any doubts or problems with this E-meter, you should go ahead and contact Leah Remini at 1-800-COURAGE
Do you see how that worked out? When I planned this post, I thought to myself, “Skyler! You need to find a 7-letter word that means “COURAGE”. I tried, “BIG BALLS” and then I tried “BIG MOUTH” and then I tried, “TOUGH GAL” and nothing worked.
Tell me. Am I going too far O/T here?
Jere Lull says
Skyler, about “courageous journalists”,
Well, there are the major scn-watchers, Tony O and Mike, here, but I’m pretty impressed by one who simply is doing the job journalists are ALL supposed to be doing, but largely aren’t, such as the “LA Times”. Tracey McManus at the Tampa Bay Times. From the beginning, I’m sure she was aware of the personal and legal shit-storm she was likely to reap, but she keeps uncovering and reporting the truths that the scam don’t want anyone to know about. It seems the “Tampa Bay Times” management and owners are backing her up, or her stories wouldn’t be getting the prime real estate they enjoy. For those who don’t understand, there are certain spots an article can be placed which are more impactful than others: The front page “above the fold” is the real biggie, most should recognize.
Skyler says
Jere,
I’m surprised that I have never previously heard of Tracey McManus. I will def try to find out about him/her. Thank you for the lead.
Jere Lull says
If you see a story in the Tampa Bay Times about scientology, it was likely written by Tracey. She’s a treasure, with big brass ones, as she tells it like it is, not necessarily the way scientology wants to be thought of. And so far, AFAICT, she’s finessed her way around getting sued by scientology/Dwarfenführer®. SMART lady!
George M. White says
Blasted away finding Rick Kriseman, Mayor of St Petersburgh supporting this joker. Kriseman was re-elected to a second term recently. He was graduated as a lawyer from Stetson University, a local law school. He is supported by Contractor’s, construction workers and gun owners. He is Jewish with heavy support from the Catholics. He worked mostly as an accident attorney and supported secondary forms of justice organizations. He probably met Eliseo Santana when he was on his own justice committees. They obviously mingled at fund raising parties. Florida politics are mostly corrupt as has been reported. I do not know how to get a message to Mayor Kriseman about the danger he is facing from Scientology. If Kriseman shows a link to Scientology, his political career is doomed. Seem to remember he had huge battles over water bills and sewage in St Petersburg which is bad for the environment. Half the coastline is also sinking into the ocean in thirty years, Kriseman was re-elected because central St Pete is facing a construction boom with billions of dollars for high rise condos as the coast sinks.

I once worked in hospital security, that doesn’t make me a doctor. It’s not the Pinellas County Sheriff race, there’s something wrong with the Democratic party in general. There are even “Democrats For Trump.”
Mike Rinder says
Sorry, you are just inviting this to devolve into Republican v Democrat foolishness. Pam Bondi is a Republican and there are Republicans for Trump. Please stick to the point here.

Sorry, I’ll try not to devolve into Republican vs Democrat foolishness.
ISNOINews says
Mike — Thank you this. I post about the danger of Scientology influencing political parties and candidates on other forums, and it inevitably ends up in Trump bashing or Democrat bashing, depending on the forum. The point about Scientology influence and infiltration gets lost. It is nice to keep the focus on Scientology.
Jere Lull says
ISNNOINews lamented:
“The point about Scientology influence and infiltration gets lost.”
Contrary to the little one’s fantasies, scientology’s influence is largely negative. We’ve seen that it USED to hold some sway in Hollywood, but recently those who admit to be in scn are dropped from the a- lists, even the B- lists, falling down. down, down. Has Krusty done ANYTHING lately? How ’bout Travolta? I guess Cruise will appear in MI:2100 if he’s still alive (unlikely). It’s the only thing he’s “known” for, other than hopping on Oprah’s couch. He’ll keep doing it as long as they give it to him out of pity for its being the only thing he was half good in. The last MI he’ll appear in will be as the grizzled old mentor no longer in the thick of the game. That COULD be next year as isn’t he 60 or so now?
Are there ANY scn Hollywood A-listers left? Not, AFAICT.

otherles, I once was born in a hospital, spent months there in an incubator, and I’ve since walked through a few. Guess I’m as good as a doctor, too. 😉
