Wowee, 1300 square feet of paving stones! Every inch meticulously restored…
When Scientology Media Productions opens its doors and the cameras start to roll, the world will know Scientology is here — but riddle me this. Golden Era Productions, which is FAR larger and has more facilities than this, has been around since 1980. They can produce anything that this facility can produce already?
Oh, it’s just an excuse to try and get more money.
In scientology, that is the ONLY answer that EVER makes sense.
|
Wow, I bet you didnt know these amazing media “facts” — not unless you had not watched TV in the last 50 years…
And not if you don’t watch HBO (of course, NO scientologist watches HBO…)
And, as if on cue, here is the proof that this is ALL about the money.
These special editions are produced in NIGERIAN leather? Is this some sort of joke? A clever little inside thing that is a play on the hackneyed internet “Nigerian scam”? Boy, I sure wish I had a book that was hand bound in “Nigerian leather”? Nigerian oil. Nigerian rubber. Nigerian cocoa beans. Nigerian scam.
And the best they can do in both promo pieces are “successes” from advertising that ran 25 and 30 YEARS AGO.
The last time anything successful was happening apparently.

My point, whether I’ll informed of not, was that recruitment of young people ages 15, 16, our 17 are still considered minors. But I stand corrected. BTW, I’d watch that tone,… Sounds a bit defensive, paranoid.. Some habits die hard do they?

Add to the list: Tory Christman and the Angry Gay Pope.
Liz says
I beg to disagree, Roger.
There is no way that you can honestly say, not with a straight face(and at the risk of sounding spiritual or religious, say with a pure heart.. that just means honestly) that anyone who fell for, anyone who’s currently in, or anyone who found(escaped) their way out is or was at fault for falling victim.
I grew up in San Diego during the 70’s… Read about the Moonies; remember Guyana, the old creepy, scary guy- don’t remember his name. The Hari Krishnas at the Airport & @ the bus stop as I transferred from my Jr and Sr. High school trip s home. Even back then, I knew they’d been swallowed up by something bigger than them selves. If you we re part of the COS, which I’m totally going on a limb here with,u have to forgive yourself for being so gullible. You got swept up. Its happened to many a men, men more greater than you. If not. We should be part of the solution. Condemnation isn’t in the process. Sincerely, Liz
Roger Hornaday says
Thank you Liz. Yes I was brainwashed and I like to tell my stories from that tour. It was a great experience and I don’t have to forgive myself. It’s the most typical thing to get fooled now and then in this world full of tricksters. I finally said, “this is bullshit” just like many other people did like Debbie Cook and Mike Rinder who lost his entire family in service to his moral compass. If my moral compass doesn’t kick in then I’m fucked. Scientology or no scientology. Without that moral compass a person is lost just like the Hole Dwellers. Those are lost people. You think they should be rescued? I wouldn’t try to stop such an effort nor would I try to start one. That’s the difference between you and me and I’m glad there are people like you.
Scott Mercer says
More LRH fluffing. “The Secret of Treasure Island” was not “scripted” by Hubbard. He is credited with the “story” and another guy actually wrote the screenplay. Also it was based on “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson, so Stevenson probably wrote 90% of the story and Hubbard substituted 10% of his usual mediocrity. Also, very doubtful it was filmed at KCET. The lot was the home of Monogram Pictures, though The Secret of Treasure Island was released by Columbia. Not impossible that it was filmed at Monogram, or at least parts of it were, but Columbia had a much bigger studio and access to a backlot. Monogram did not have a real backlot, just a tiny strip of storefronts. So in all likelihood Monogram was rented only if every facility at Columbia was booked. Just took a quick look at it on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxjHf4Af_tY There was a lot of exterior shooting, looks like out in the boonies somewhere. A number of soundstage interiors, which could have been done at Monogram I guess. Noticed it was produced by Louis Weiss, whose son, Adrian Weiss, later worked with Ed Wood. Mark of quality there.
Liz says
Scientology Media Productions; GIVE me a break. DM keeps going back to same strategy and the same well. No clue where the bulk of COS funds come from at least not the sustainable big$$. Perhaps Blackmailing what few A-Listers COS has left, is a start.
ITS not going to open. Point in fact: Aren’t most OPENINGS listed with potential month, year or even decade date?
Gotta love the [ M.] Mouse. He’s just micromanaging himself into an even earlier demise. Would love to be a fly on that wall
Liz says
Good point about using the Celebrities they have, initially, I guess. Quite honestly,I don’t see it.
SOC is way too private (paranoid.. as well they should be) to air anything remotely revealing. How in the world would they hold any outsiders interest? Just another ‘ Mighty Mouse’ ruse, milking the same ol’ suckers. Incredible. Truth is truly stranger than fiction
Aquamarine says
Liz, these shows would be targeted for the Still -Ins.
I’m hoping that David Miscavige is intending to use his Whales and Celebs in reality shows so as to afford His plebian Still-In Sheeple exciting glimpses into the fascinating lives of these Big Beings – you know, what they actually DO in the brief time lapses between their donating all those millions to Ideal Morgues and the IAS. We’re vitally interested in these people, after all. Do they shop for groceries? Buy their kid an ice cream cone, gas up their tank, “just like us”? I’m hoping that the Jensens, the Duggans and the Cardones, Nancy Cartwright, etc. etc. will each have their own shows.
I can dream, right?
Aquamarine says
Yes, Chuck, what a hoot that would be. But I’ll bet that Apple Box Boy David Miscavige will mandate that actors sign first gag orders before being hired to play what are sure to be all the “happy, satisfied Scientologists” in his upcoming little productions. Still, I can’t wait.
Chuck Beatty says
The LA studios will allow more leaks quicker.
What would be a great gag is some real big Hollywood celebs go audition for some Scientology movie/video parts, and tattle what the experience was like.

A glorious bunch of scientology channels and shows staring all the young aspiring actors that were just looking for there way&extremely vournerable. Then scientology scooped them off the streets of L.A. Promising communication acting classes so great, just look at what they did for JT,TC,KA,EC,JL,NC,etc etc. Shows full of Guest appearances and maybe even career shattering scientology sitcoms staring All the famous idiots and all there kids. “We are the only road out. …” LRH
This idea is the singular most evil concept a group can agree to. When an ideology is the “only way” it’s natural assumption is that all other ways are misleading.
If I knew that the only way out of a burning building was through one door and other people were claiming another door was the way but that way was misleading them to their demise,I would be justified in making the wrong way out an enemy of the people.
“Only ways” are the source of justified condemnation or even violence against those outside the group.
This is the most singular evil that Ron perpetrated and imprinted on his disciples.
The injustice and violence that this doctrine engenders is the scourge of civil society.

As an apple developer I thought I would see what Scientology was doing in the App Store. With over 300 million people a day going to the app store its the worlds largest audience. Literally anyone can have an app on the app store with many app building softwares out there. As an example I have over 90 apps on apple and google for my clients.
SO bearing that in mind heres what they have.
Celebrity magazine. Last issue published in 2013.
One app in books thats for extension courses.
3 books in English (more in other languages) Fundamentals of thought, New Slant on Life, Problems of work)
There are more anti scientology books than LRH books on the store.
On Google play there are NO apps and two books
So there you have it. Scientology breaking the barriers of technology to the largest audience on the planet.

Don’t you just love it when peanut brain, Mighty Mouse, as I affectionately refer to him, does alot of the work for ‘Team Blown.’
Liz says
Appreciate you. I can’t speak for everyone else on this blog or others like this, but there’s a general feeling that the COS is fleeting. Case in point: The feeble attempt to raise money through the (excrutuiatingly ‘ dated) SCIENTOLOGY Media Ctr. Opening ‘ newsletter.
Our heads/brains know this is nonsense, but COS’s past conquests have taught us to tread lightly. PLease keep us posted.
Side note: How the watch selling?
Jethro Bodine says
What’s funny about this whole thing are that the “success stories” from people who say they got into $cientology because of the Dianetics TV ads from the 80s. Those commercials were for the most part the work of “declared SP” and “member of Anonymous” and “bitter, defrocked apostate”, Jefferson Hawkins. COB did everything he could to try to stop these commercials; they succeeded anyways. Miscavige, on the other hand, was responsible for the Dianetics racing car, which turned out to be a failure and a big waste of church money.
Delilah says
Yeah…but TC thought that the race car was wayyyyy cool!

SOMEBODY please EXPLAIN. Answer me this please!!! Why with so many people reporting on the near atrocities that have and are still taking place in the’ Hole,’ what keeps authorities from storming the place. Grand Juries are assembled for many would be illegal acts, activities. What keeps any one of our forms of governments from inspecting it. Just based on the ground of its inhabitability for human dwelling or even a work place. Must be in violation of dozens of codes! Just don’t get it. SOMEBODY, please explain
Joe Pendleton says
Liz, there is simply no upside for any of the authorities to look into this. Most importantly, it is almost a certainty that NONE of the brainwashed people in the Hole will say anything negative about their treatment if asked. (it is only FORMER inhabitants who will complain). In fact, they would all no doubt say that they are there voluntarily and are having spititual gains from their being there.
Furthermore Liz, there is no reason I can see FOR any authorities to waste taxpayer money on this. As Ron has said so many times, the key to all cases is responsibility (the election of oneself as cause). The Scientologists in the Hole ARE the reason the CoS is the way it is and why it has the leader it has. Tough shit is my feeling for Yager, Gullaume, Heber and the rest there. THEY are the ones who keep the CoS the way it is. They made their OWN beds, so …. They are in the Hole because they have decided to continue to be there. Until they decide to leave, they will continue to be there. (personally I think they DESERVE to be there for the “church” they have created, just like I think current members deserve to be bled dry of all their money for supporting disconnection, etc. )
Aquamarine says
Joe P, using the abuses and fraudulent practices of the Church of Scientology and its acceptance by its members by way of illustration, you have just explained the entire philosophy behind PT Barnum’s “Never give a sucker an even break”.
Liz says
Harsh words. But no one, at least in the United States, deserves to be stricken of their inalienable rights. Local, State and Federal authorities have to step up. Like I wrote before, grand jury inquires have been supported on far less assumptions.
I understand your frustration, anger and animosity toward those who have helped build this atrocity.
Got to be positive. If a bone head, pathological lying MISFIT like Ron could outwit the IRS, IT’S only a matter of time that the right person, people of legal and ethical authority will stand up to and challenge this whole mess. I could be wrong on the immediate time frame, but I don’t think so .
In the interim,
I do look forward to watching Miscavidge implode … That would be a nice start (in).
BTW, videos recently watched Paris Valeska; 1982 City of Clearwater City Hall inquiries in to Scientology involving Older couple: Ernest and Del Hatwell, something like that and Astra, minor from UK. Listen to their stories. I think you’ll soften your hard line approach abit. JKidding. But sad all the same.
Roger Hornaday says
The “prisoners” are imprisoned by their false beliefs. They have forgotten to care about what is right and good. Should they be rescued? Some of them may resent being rescued and consider it a humiliation. I can understand that. Naturally they would hate for the world to see what they have become. They aren’t high-ranking officers who are looked up to. They are stooped and WILLING slaves living in a squalid pit. That is about as low as you can get I think. I don’t condemn them but I don’t feel sorry for them either. I think they serve the cause of knowledge now as we see just how far they will go and what they will give up in order to hold on to ideas that are so easily debunked. They aren’t victims of a crime they ARE the crime.
John Locke says
“But no one, at least in the United States, deserves to be stricken of their inalienable rights.”
Liz, no one is being denied their inalienable rights. People have a right to remain in a cult if they want. If they don’t they can walk. Pretty dang simple.
Jens TINGLEFF says
Nope, I disagree. The legal term for what you’re missing is “undue influence.”
Check out “Cults Inside Out: How People Get In and Can Get Out” by Steven Hassan and “Cults Inside Out: How People Get In and Can Get Out” by Rick Ross to see why the victims are not to blame; well, certainly not to blame in the way you do, IMHO.
The ones who were born in or grew up in (like Claire Edwards, Neil Gaiman’s sister) did not have a choice and some of them ended up in the hole. Even the ones who did join at an age where they could make informed choices were not given the whole information before joining – quite the opposite.
Jens TINGLEFF says
My bad! The Steven Hassan book is, of course, “Combatting Cult Mind Control: The #1 Best-selling Guide to Protection, Rescue, and Recovery from Destructive Cults”

It’s becoming painfully clear to me that I lack the

RolandRB says
Because if they did raid the place then the people locked up inside of it would tell their rescuers that they wanted to be there and tell them to go away.
John Locke says
Liz, it is simple. For the most part the acts being done are on adults who CHOOSE to keep receiving them. It is the exact same reason that the gov doesn’t break up sadomasochism couples. It is a human right to NOT have the gov interfere. As for the children in the S.O. there are almost none now. Also, the number of people in scn is almost nil.
(A little secret) ANYONE at Int who says that they will call the authorities if they are held gets kicked out asap. They are trapped by their own decisions.
Liz says
Maybe so. But the SeaOrg’s got to be full of underage young men and women, who either got sold a bill of goods and can’t leave. Parental consent, I highly doubt, had been given to majority of those there. If that weren’t enough to get warrants, etc what about child labor laws and the fact that these children are not attending school!!! Emancipation for that 1,000 of a percent that may have actually attained it.OK.. But honestly, what court would rule in favor of this lunacy?!!!
Aquamarine says
“(A little secret) ANYONE at Int who says that they will call the authorities if they are held gets kicked out asap. They are trapped by their own decisions.”
That’s amazing. That’s all they need to say to obtain their automatic release. So incredibly simple. Truly, a prison of their own making. Wow.
John Locke says
Incorrect again Liz. I think that you won’t find any kids in the SO who don’t have parental consent. The Church was getting them back in the late 70’s. Now child labor laws may being violated. BUT, as I pointed out, no one is being denied their inalienable human rights. When you make legal claims that aren’t true you HELP the cult.
Espiando says
I think I finally figured out the leather, and it was thanks to the multiple Ricardo Montalban jokes, so thanks to everyone here for their unwitting assistance. To wit: some car companies a lot more high-end than Chrysler only source their leather for interiors from countries that don’t use barbed wire for penning cattle. No barbed wire, no harm to the hide once the cow’s finished using it. Nigeria is a country with a lot of cattle (since in the more rural areas, it’s the traditional base of currency) and very little barbed wire, so the hides coming out of there are as blemish-free as a supermodel’s butt.
Hence, your L. Fraud opus will be clad in the same high quality of leather that would accommodate the asses of most of the whales who could afford such extravagance.
Joe Pendleton says
Espiando, please NEVER make any disparaging remark about the great Ricardo Montalbon. Not only was the phrase “soft Corinthian leather” never intoned as the great Ricardo did it, but his hairpieces themselves were a marvel to behold at every opportunity. Thankfully we can now see these small works of cinematic art on youtube and record them for multiple viewings. My last comment on this, because I know Ricardo would have wanted to hear it on his death bed is ……. “the plane, the plane” ……

I would never make a disparaging remark about the Great Ricardo. He gets a Kha KHAAAAAAANNN!!!! from me.

“Corinthian leather” is a name directly developed by the advertising agency Bozell to describe a leather upholstery fabric.
“Developed” by an ad agency sounds like most of Blubbard’s bull, not merely a leather product!

Anyone who has studied graphology can see that the gold handwriting on the cover of this “limited edition” of Dianetics – belongs to someone who is seriously mentally disturbed. They don’t even know that they’re broadcasting this fact to the psychiatric community at large. Hilarious!!
Daniel Doonan says
Is it just the irregularity of the writing?
I was going to guess they showed Miscavige some different handwriting styles to choose which he liked best, he misunderstood and said “yes, that’s right” to the whole thing, and they had to combine every style together because they were too scared to correct him.
Alice Graves says
It’s the irregular, multi directional form of the writing (erratic, chaotic mind), the overblown flourishes (false, aggrandized sense of self) and deeply emotional nature of overall form. When I see writing like this on an employment application or letter I know to run away fast. They’re not just crazy – they’re DEEPLY crazy with so much drive behind it that you are sure to get shot somewhere along the line.

A multi-million dollar media studio for, among other things, “Internet dissemination”? On YouTube there are vlogs that have between 1 to 26 million subscribers and many more millions of viewers. These vloggers usually broadcast from their homes. Why doesn’t the Church of Scientology focus on YouTube? Aside from the fact that money cannot be laundered through YouTube productions the way it can be through large construction projects, YouTube shows the number of viewers for each video. How embarrassing if the church produced videos and only a few thousand of the so-called ten million members watched.

The cherch cannot compete in the real world. YouTube is a reflection of our current culture. The fact that they have so few views is indicative of the public’s interest in the subject. The cherch operates off the false principle that there is an ever-present, high demand for Scn. Low YouTube stats expose this lie.

That’s longer than it takes to become a medical doctor it you consider the schooling begins at kindergarten. Why would somebody take such a leisurely route to TOTAL FREEDOM???!!! I don’t think the problem lies with the diminished appeal of total freedom but with the diminished belief that the Bridge can lead anybody to anything but increased status within a rapidly shrinking society.
statpush says
Excellent point Roger. If Scn truly, truly gave a being Total Freedom – you wouldn’t even need to advertise. People would be begging you to take their money. Alas, it just simply isn’t true. About the only thing Scn CAN deliver is the HOPE of Total Freedom, nothing more.

One of L. Fraud Flunk-Out’s biggest conceits (and there were oh, so many) was that people actually want Scientology. You know, all that stuff about people getting up in arms when they’re denied Scientology. His dictatorial mindset showed when he said that people want “Ron’s brand of Scientology”. Well, for better or worse, what the cult is providing is “Ron’s brand of Scientology”, regardless of whatever squirreling Let Him Die has promulgated over the years.
(I’ll pause here to let the Indies throw the nearest heavy object against the nearest wall. Sorry, folks, but it’s the truth among the unaware. We know better, but they don’t.)
Well, given the influx of raw meat into the cult and the abundant success of the now-thoroughly-discredited body routing, it’s quite apparent that no one wants Ron’s brand of Scientology. And no one ever will again, not after Going Clear. So Planetary Dissemination will fall on deaf ears, making this particular grab for moolah even more wasteful and evil than Idle Morgues.
What kind of programming will they produce? They can’t start up The Scientology Channel and hope to get it on cable networks (especially Time-Warner). Their only hope is Sunday at 4AM filler right alongside the other infomercials, except that stations won’t want to buy anything branded as Scientology. They might, just might, get their programming on stations in the Tampa Bay area and Los Angeles, but that’s it. Their only hope is Craigslist-style deceit, simply not telling the audience that it’s Scientology until it’s too late. Just another demonstration from The Most Ethical People On The Planet.
Why bother with all of this? They’ve got a better business model thanks to Bulawayo Ideal Whorehouse. Planetary Insemination will bring more people in than Planetary Dissemination.

This is such a classic C of S move. Their uptake of technology and trends run about 10-15 years behind the aberrated people of Earth.
Streaming Overtakes Live TV Among Consumer Viewing Preferences: Study
http://variety.com/2015/digital/news/streaming-overtakes-live-tv-among-consumer-viewing-preferences-study-1201477318/
“U.S. consumers are more inclined to stream entertainment from an Internet service than tune in to live TV, according to the results of a new survey from consulting firm Deloitte.
Video-streaming services such as Netflix, which are now used by more than 42% of American households, have overtaken live programming as the viewing method of choice, Deloitte’s study found. About 56% of those surveyed now stream movies and 53% stream TV shows on a monthly basis, as compared with 45% of those who prefer to watch TV programs live.”
Whoever sold them a broadcasting station is laughing all the way to the bank.

Great point. I’m surprised they’re not bragging about broadcasting in high quality UHF.

Coming soon!! Co$ Beta Tape Machines!
Bob Dobbs says

Not only that, but they’re boasting about forthcoming radio programming–in an age of satellite radio, streaming services, podcasts, etc.
Scientology’s core membership skews old; they’re in that demographic that still listens to radio. But if they want to reach younger people–especially those with money (or at least high earning potential), they’ve completely missed the boat.
Someone should Telex them, mentioning that fact…
Aquamarine says
Yes, radio! Everyone’s listening to it, don’t you know. Just the thing. Frankly, I’m salivating at the thought of a Miscavology radio program.
Aquamarine says
I also can’t wait for a Scientology reality show, ala “Keeping Up With Cardones” – you get the idea.
Aquamarine says
Or, they could all be part of just one Church of Scientology Reality Show: “The Real Whales of Los Angeles”. (Ok, ok, so I didn’t give that much thought. Please feel free to do much better 🙂

What I want to know is: Are they going to run Dianetics book ads during their commercial breaks?
roger gonnet says
Well, when could we learnthe special edition MKVIII prine? It’s missing on each ad trying to sell these. A past similar scam meter was priced 25000. I Wonder to see how the meter is sold: I’d bet the special meter is billed say 5500$ a piece, then another billis done for “donation”, so as to avoid paying taxeson the whole.
Espiando says
Good thought, except that in the US, there’s no VAT, and the IRS deal makes the “donation” for the Easy-Bake Eight tax deductible on the purchaser’s part.
The Dark Avenger says
Sales tax depends on the state or local jurisdiction in America. And, unlike VAT, it is added on at the time of he purchase. In CA, that would be 540$ on a meter valued @ 6K$.
scientology411 says
They’re $15,000 and you can write off $9,000 of that as a donation.
